EU officials: ISIS has been wiped out in Syria, time for refugees to go home

One of the most maddening things about our UN/US Refugee Admissions Program is that it is permanent.

When we take refugees they are here to stay and on track to citizenship even if their home country goes back to relative peace.

As we have watched Europe, particularly Germany ‘welcoming’ migrants, remember those flooding in to that country will have to seek asylum and wait for that legal process to work its will.  Until their asylum claims are adjudicated they have no right to permanent resettlement—our refugees do!

Angela Merkel, Hilary Clinton
Sure is a good thing we didn’t listen to Hillary who wanted 65.000 Syrians admitted to the US ASAP. Now will Mama Merkel move to send hers back?  https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2016/10/05/at-last-nights-vp-debate-hillarys-65000-syrian-refugees-came-up/

This is why we should not fall for every UN/Leftwing scare tactic and jump to admit refugees who in a year or two could go home—like the Syrians.

Here is the news from Germany that is not being widely broadcast!

European Union calls for return of Syrian refugees as the war against Islamic State draws to a close

Senior EU officials have started to call for Syrian refugees who fled the the ensuing violence and suffering from the war against Islamic State to be returned to their home country now that the war is over.

After recovering all strategic strongholds from IS, the Syrian Army on Wednesday claimed that it had won the war against the terrorist group.

This has prompted senior German officials to call on Chancellor Angela Merkel to open up communications with the Syrian government to facilitate the return of refugees who fled the war in Syria.

The right-wing Alternative for Deutschland (AFD) party say Angela Merkel and her new government should immediately strike up talks with Syria’s president Assad to start the ball rolling on a deal to repatriate migrants that had fled to Germany during the migrant crisis.

“This deal should ensure that the returnees will be accepted in Syria and accommodated only in safe areas,” the AFD said in a statement. They are also calling for the Syrian government to help pay for the cost of sending them all back.

The Green Party, which has been invited to help Merkel form a government, branded the politicians “irresponsible, inhumane and heartless”.

The Open Borders Leftists have their hearts set on a new refugee flood—watch for the rise of the Rohingya.  And, just behind those Muslims from Bangladesh/Burma look for the propaganda campaign for millions of climate refugees to be ‘welcomed’ to the west.

The climate refugees are a twofer for them—-they get to yak about global warming and refugees!

EU launches legal action against 3 countries refusing refugees

Invasion of  Europe news….

President Trump is going to Poland on July 6th. Time could not be better! (Trump visiting PNA in September 2016.) http://www.nydailynews.com/newswires/news/world/poland-hails-upcoming-trump-visit-huge-success-article-1.3240554

Here is a short bit at the Independent:

The European Commission says it is launching legal action against the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland for failing to take in refugees under a legally binding sharing plan agreed by the European Union.

The Commission said Tuesday in a statement that it has repeatedly urged the three countries to relocate refugees or at least pledge to do so.

But it said they have not taken action “in breach of their legal obligations,” and that it “has decided to launch infringement procedures” on Wednesday.

A longer article at The Guardian says this.  Sure looks like nobody wants to take in more refugees. Gee, I wonder why!

Out of 160,000 refugees due to be taken under the scheme agreed in 2015, only 20,869 have been relocated. In theory, countries can be fined for every refugee in the quota they fail to accept.

Lots of ‘fining’ coming soon….

Poland standing firm: Will not take refugee "quota" they were previously assigned

European nations on the edges of Europe have taken the full brunt of the migrant flood to Europe.
The fault lies in the fact that the EU leadership never had the guts to turn the boats back to Turkey or the North African coast when the invasion began in earnest several years ago.  Additionally the invasion of Europe from N. Africa accelerated when several European countries, with the Obama Administration’s help (Hillary!), destabilized Libya.

Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło. If Donald Trump really wanted to change the subject, go on the offense, and at the same time encourage his base, he should invite Beata to the White House! Don’t you find it interesting that fearless women opposition leaders in Germany, France and Poland are so vocal about defending against the invasion of Europe?

So the people of Poland elected a government that has steadfastly said, this is not our problem! Why should we welcome the mostly Muslim migrants when statistics show that doing so results in increased turmoil and violence (and expense for taxpayers!)?  See map here.
Here is the latest news on efforts to pressure Poland and Hungary.
Always remember that it was a Polish king who saved Europe from a Muslim takeover in 1683!  Maybe the Poles have a long memory (unlike the French who also once in history turned back the invasion).
You go girl!
UK Independent:

Poland’s Prime Minister has claimed the country “cannot accept refugees” as the EU threatens legal action against nations failing to comply with quotas.

Alongside Hungary and Austria, it is one of only three countries not to have relocated a single refugee, “in breach of their legal obligations” and commitments.

Dimitris Avramopoulos: Do as I say!

“This cannot be the responsibility of just a few member states – this must be shared be all,” said Dimitris Avramopoulos, the European Commissioner for migration.

But Prime Minister Beata Szydło told a press conference there had been no formal agreement to compulsory quotas, which Hungary and Poland voted against.

“A critical attitude towards the mechanism of migrant relocation is becoming increasingly widespread in the European Union,” she claimed, according to a translation by state broadcaster Poland Radio.

“Poland cannot accept refugees.”

The EU originally set the goal for the distribution of migrants at 160,000 by September 2017.  They will be lucky to seed 40,000 by later this year.

But fewer than 18,500 people have been resettled so far and while Poland has been assigned 6,200 refugees, none have been admitted.

The country committed to taking in up to 10,000 migrants at the start of the crisis but after winning the 2015 elections, the populist Law and Justice party (PiS) reversed the decision.

Only Malta and Finland on target to take allocated migrants from Italy and Greece under EU 'sharing' scheme

“All these measures have the principle of solidarity and fair sharing of responsibility at their core – a principle that binds each member state.”

(Frans Timmermans)

Invasion of Europe news….
If you are a regular reader of RRW, you know that Italy and Greece have taken the brunt of the invasion of Europe as those two countries are the most easily reached from Africa and the Middle East.  You also know that a complete and shameful lack of will several years ago by the European Union to turn boats back to the African (or Turkish) coast resulted in a wave of hundreds of thousands of migrants attempting to get to Europe.

frans-timmermans
I’d like to ask the European Commissions first VP, Timmermans, what is fair about demanding that countries that wanted the boats turned back years ago are now expected to take a certain number of migrants because big, prosperous countries like Germany, France and others had no spine.

Of course Italy and Greece can’t manage the numbers, so a ‘sharing’ scheme was designed in 2015 where European Commission member states were apportioned a certain number of the mostly economic migrants to welcome to their countries.
Below is a screenshot showing how many each country was expected to take and how many each had agreed to.
Here is the latest news! Surprise! Quotas are not being met!  Only Malta and Finland are on target we are told.
If you think none of this involves us—Americans! Think again!
Most maddening to me is that Malta is getting praised for being on target when we, the US, take about 500 fake refugees off their hands each year!
See my recent post on this outrageous relocation of mostly African boat people to your towns that began in the Bush Administration.
From The Guardian:

European countries have accepted less than 10% of the 160,000 refugees they promised to move to safety from unsanitary and cramped camps in Italy and Greece, leading the European commission to warn it will “accept no more excuses”.

Only 13,546 relocations have been carried out so far – 3,936 from Italy and 9,610 from Greece – amounting to just 8% of the total the EU committed to relocate in 2015.

Just two member states, Malta and Finland, have met their resettling obligations under the relocation scheme that will close in September.

[….]

Despite February setting a monthly record with about 1,940 relocations, the pace of relocation is still well below the targets of at least 3,000 a month from Greece and at least 1,500 from Italy.

Hungary, Austria and Poland refuse to participate in the relocation scheme. The Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Croatia and Slovakia are doing so on a “very limited basis”. The UK, which can opt out on parts of European asylum policy, has chosen not to participate.

During a press conference in Brussels, the commissioner for migration, Dimitris Avramopoulos, warned that infringement proceedings against member states, including huge daily fines, could soon be levied.

As I understand it, these numbers represent migrants who have not already been approved through a normally long asylum process. If I am right about that, then The Guardian’s chart calling them “refugees” is inaccurate. They should be referred to as ‘migrants.’
This is a screenshot of the 2015 allocation goals (from The Guardian): what the European Commission expects and what countries actually agreed to.  The numbers may have changed since 2015, but you get the idea….

President Trump supposedly stopped the flow from Malta to America in his first immigration order. It isn’t clear to me whether that survived the court challenge.  We will know more in a few days.

Trump halts (for now) 'refugee' flow from Malta to the US

If you have been reading RRW for ten years, you know this is like Christmas to me!

malta-boat
“New Americans” arriving on Malta (a nation in the European Union) from Libya (Libya the failed state thanks to Hillary/Obama). Photo: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-05-10/african-refugees-flee-libya-to-malta/2714380

Donald Trump’s EO on refugees stops the illegal flow of migrants who land in a safe EU country—Malta—to your towns and cities.
George Bush started this insanity and Obama continued it.
Boat people from Africa arrive as illegal aliens on Malta. International law requires that they ask for asylum in the first safe country they reach—Malta (or in the case of the failed asylum seekers Turnbull is trying to pawn off on us, Australia)—instead many are just loaded up to Anytown, USA. Many are Somalis, btw.
congress
Where is Congress? There are many tweeks Congress could make to the Refugee Act of 1980 and one is to stop this practice of taking refugees from countries where they are perfectly safe AND WHERE IT IS THAT COUNTRY’S RESPONSIBILITY NOT OURS!

When I first began writing about this practice in 2007 or 2008 (I didn’t look back), a US State Dept. employee contacted me anonymously and told me that this “new” policy was heavily criticized internally.
If you are an ambitious reader, you might consider reading through dozens and dozens of posts I have on the topic by clicking here (or use my search window for ‘Malta.’)
Imagine my joy to see the ABC headline US halts resettlement program from Malta.
It is only for 120 days, but maybe that is time enough for Congress to do something to stop it completely.

You know, and I know, that there is no way to thoroughly screen migrants who came by boat from failed states in Africa!

Here is ABC News:

A decade-old program to resettle a fixed quota of refugees arriving in the small, southern EU nation of Malta to the United States is another casualty of President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration.

U.S. Ambassador G. Kathleen Hill told Maltese media this week that the refugee resettlement program has been suspended for 120 days under the order.

It isn’t clear what will happen after the four months have elapsed. Hill said that the U.S. government is “reviewing the program” and the embassy is awaiting “further guidance” at the end of the 120 days.

More than 3,110 refugees have been resettled in the U.S. since 2007 to help ease pressure on Malta from the influx of migrants arriving by boat from northern Africa.

Processing country data at Wrapsnet is informative. I told you about it here not too long ago.
During the first 3 months of this fiscal year we admitted 170 of the migrants that Malta (the EU) didn’t accept and that Europeans had no will to turn back to Africa.
The first number is the case number and the second is the individual number. The ratio of cases to individuals tells us that most of those we took from Malta are single (men?).
