I was doing some research on West Virginia just now and was interested to see how many Iraqis went to WV (a state that has been able to stay out of the Refugee Admissions Program to any large degree, but is now looking to get in) and so I had a look at the whole country and thought you might be interested in this information.
I went back ten fiscal years and learned that in the last decade we admitted 135,648 Iraqi ‘refugees.’Of those 63% are Muslims and the remaining 37% represent a whole host of religions (we are cleaning out the country of its minority population!) including Catholics, Christians and Chaldeans.
When I saw the breakdown of the Muslim numbers, it made me laugh. Who is persecuting who because we have brought in large numbers of the two primary opposing factions!
We admitted: 34,679 Shiites, 48,297 Sunnis, and 2,116 Muslims of unknown orientation. Are we placing them in the same towns so they can continue their infighting? Are we placing Iraqi Christians among them? (The resettlement contractors must think that America’s magic melting pot will erase centuries of animosity—it won’t.)
Here is the map from the Refugee Processing Centerof where the Iraqis have been placed. (There may be a way to find out which religions you got in your state, but I don’t know how to find that information. Knowing how the VOLAGs operate they probably sent you a smattering of all of them so you might have tensions in your community going forward.)
Here are the numbers resettled by fiscal year (again, I did not go back to the first wave of Iraqis who came in the wake of the first George Bush war). One thing that you will see clearly is that once we get rolling and admit large populations of a particular ethnic group, we don’t stop for years and years (Somalishave been coming for decades).
FY 2007: 1,608 (This is the first year I began writing this blog and I remember well how the VOLAGs and the Open Borders gang were haranguing GWB to open the flood gates for Iraqis which he finally did. They said we broke Iraq so it was our responsibility to resettle vast numbers of their warring factions.)
FY 2008: 13,822
FY 2009: 18,838
FY 2010: 18,016
FY 2011: 9,388 (this dip is due to the discovery of 2 Iraqi Islamic terrorists in Kentucky, so the feds had to re-screen all the incoming Iraqis.)
FY 2012: 12,163
FY 2013: 19,488
FY 2014: 19,769
FY 2015: 12,676
FY 2016: 9,880
For more than you ever wanted to know, visit our Iraqi refugee category by clicking here (706 previous posts!). Endnote: LOL! This is how I get off track almost daily, I find something interesting to me and then don’t get to what I planned for the day. But, hopefully this is useful to some of you! One more thing…. Don’t like what you see? You only have 14 days (including today) to get a commitment from your member of Congress to DEFUND the Refugee Admissions Program in the lame duck session of Congress! They won’t care what you think after November 8th!
No matter how much the other side yaks about screening, you know (and they know) that there is no way to screen the Islamic terrorist wannabes from the huge flow of Syrians, Iraqis, Somalis, Uzbeks, Burmese Muslims etc. being admitted to the US now at an accelerated pace.
Here is a (then) teenager we welcomed to America who hates us and planned to kill many of you who shop in Houston area malls. Before being admitted to the US, I bet this punk was asked by some US State Department worker—do you have any animosity toward America and, like any good Muslim, lied!
From CBS News:
HOUSTON — An Iraqi refugee who authorities say wanted to set off bombs at two Houston malls pleaded guilty Monday to trying to help the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan admitted as part of his plea deal that he pledged his loyalty to ISIS in November 2014 and almost immediately trained to use tactical weapons, including an AK-47. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced Jan. 17 on a charge of attempting to provide material support or resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization.
[….]
“I want to blow myself up. I want to travel with the Mujahidin. I want to travel to be with those who are against America. I am against America,” Al Hardan wrote, according to KHOU.
More here.
We have 704 previous posts on Iraqi refugees in case anyone wants to write a book someday!
And, by the way, just as I saw the news about Al Harden, I also saw news this morning about our involvement in going after ISIS at Mosul. Using Obama and Hillary’s own logic, isn’t our involvement there going to create more terrorists and probably more quickly than simply slowing the flow of them to America.
Let them fight it out! Let them take care of their own!
A few years ago I was thrilled that Senator Rand Paul publicly challenged the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program. He even said for publication: Why are we bringing Iraqi refugees here and putting them on welfare!
This happened as it became known that two Iraqi refugees had been arrested and ultimately convicted of terrorist activity in Kentucky. However, he drifted away from the issue as his Presidential aspirations became clear.
Now, it looks like he is thankfully taking up the cause again asBreitbart reported here yesterday (via Creeping Sharia and hat tip: Paula):
HOUSTON, Texas — Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), a 2016 GOP presidential candidate, told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview here that he wants to restrict immigration from predominantly Muslim countries after the Chattanooga, Tennessee, terrorist attack.
Paul said in an interview backstage at a rally his presidential campaign is holding inside the Hyatt Regency here in downtown Houston:
I’m very concerned about immigration to this country from countries that have hotbeds of jihadism and hotbeds of this Islamism. There was a program in place that Bush had put in place—it stood for entry-exit program from about 25 different countries with a lot of Islamic radicals, frankly. I think there does need to be heightened scrutiny. Nobody has a right to come to America, so this isn’t something that we can say ‘oh their rights are being violated.’ It’s a privilege to come to America and we need to thoroughly screen those who are coming.
The alleged shooter in the Chattanooga incident—which claimed the lives of four U.S. marines, whom he allegedly murdered in the terror attack—was named Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. The 24-year-old was born in Kuwait and immigrated to the United States before he opened fire in Chattanooga, killing four Marines.
Paul also told Breitbart News about another similar incident regarding foreigners from the Middle East who were placed in Kentucky via immigration programs for refugees—and tried to, before getting caught, buy military grade missiles.

Daniel Greenfield writing at Frontpage magazine directs us to a brief news story from Presidential candidate Rand Paul’s home town.
Here is Greenfield:
Welcome to Bowling Green, Kentucky, the latest front in the Sunni – Shiite unholy war tearing apart the Middle East.
He then directs us to this news storyabout how a Shia Muslim claims he was assaulted by a Sunni Muslim in a dispute about their religious beliefs.
Then Greenfield closes with this:
Now how many Sunnis and Shiites do you need for there to be enough critical mass for these conflicts to turn violent?
Why is this so interesting to me?
The article does not tell us the nationalities of the two who scuffled, but I will bet a buck they were both Iraqis because we know many Iraqis have been resettled in Kentucky including those two refugee terrorists arrested in Bowling Green in 2011, on trial here in 2012. At that time there was a glimmer of hope for Senator Rand Paul on this issue as he was very vocal in asking: Why are we bringing so many Iraqis to the US? See this post! I was originally thrilled!
Now he has completely shut up on the issue!
By the way, Kentucky is an important refugee resettlement state and neither Senator Mitch McConnell or Senator Paul say a word about it.
The US State Department is admitting almost equal numbers of Shiite and Sunni Iraqis to the US, so you can expect more conflicts ahead! Is that insane or what!
Again, we don’t know if these two Bowling Green squabblers are Iraqis, but this (below) will give you some idea of our foolishness. I couldn’t get the State Department data base to open just now, but found my notes from a search I did at the beginning of March. From 1/1/14 to 2/28/15 (a little over a year) we admitted 22,446 Iraqis to your towns and cities. The State Department data breaks them out by religion as follows:
Moslem (that is how they spell it): 351
Moslem Shiite: 7,747
Moslem Suni: 9,176
So the Muslims totaled: 17,274
All the other religions, or no religion accounted for the remaining 5,172 (23%).
So, is this kerfuffle in Kentucky the tip of the iceberg? We’ll see!
Make this issue (immigration and national security) a top concern for 2016 Presidential candidates!
If you have an opportunity to meet candidates ask them what their position is on refugee resettlement (look for a deer-in-the-headlights look!).
See NumbersUSAscorecard, here. Paul has an abysmal D+ on immigration and jobs. About the photo: One of the earliest important stories we ever wrote nearly 8 years ago was about Grover Norquist lobbying for large numbers of Iraqi refugees to be resettled in the US. And, see Grover herewith RINO pals (including Jeb Bush) just last year urging the GOP to support the idea of more refugees coming to America! Grover has been spreading the lie that Ronald Reagan signed the Refugee Act of 1980 into law. He is wrong. It was outgoing President Jimmy Carter who is responsible.
