Ireland taking in more Rohingya Muslims; Syrians too

The Irish Times has published one of those touchy-feely articles about how the Rohingya, who have already arrived in Ireland, are faring.  Articles like this one are meant to ‘educate’ readers in advance of a new wave of Muslim migrants coming in from countries where warring factions are producing ‘refugees’ by the millions.

Changing Ireland! The Islamic Cultural Center of Ireland was “funded by the al-Maktoum Foundation of Dubai and has a Sunni orientation. It was officially opened in 1996 by President Mary Robinson and Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.” http://curiousireland.ie/islamic-cultural-centre-of-ireland/

We are told that Ireland had some problems (the Times calls them “hiccups”) with Muslim teenaged boys and young men who didn’t want to stay in school, but that generally the Rohingya are doing well.  However, they aren’t happy with the modest mosque they found in their new town:

There were other problems. Assured that by the Irish authorities that Carlow had a mosque, and imagining a full minaret, the new families arrived to find just a house used by the town’s tiny Muslim population. For orthodox Sunnis who had escaped religious persecution in Burma it was a disappointment. They now worship at an apartment in the town.

Rest assured, as more arrive from throughout Asia and the Middle East, some rich country (United Arab Emirates? Saudi Arabia?) will build them a lovely mosque.  The mosque will then draw in more Muslims (take note Carlow!).
You can read the whole article here.
The Irish Times does admit this:

Some aren’t so sympathetic. This week an Irish Times poll found that 52 per cent of Irish people are against taking in fleeing Mediterranean migrants.

And, see this one from earlier in the week about the next batch of mostly Muslim refugees on the way.
But, at the end of the story published today, there is a useful summary of where Ireland stands now with the arrival of migrants (thanks to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees) as part of the ‘Invasion of Europe.’

Ireland is one of only 30 states that take part in the refugee resettlement scheme, a United Nations programme.

Since it began here, 15 years ago, 1,198 programme refugees, from 27 countries, have been resettled in Ireland.

The UN declares them refugees before they arrive in Ireland, and they do not go through the direct-provision system for asylum seekers.

Three hundred refugees are due to come to Ireland under a new EU scheme. Civil war in Syria and the large numbers of migrants trying to cross the Mediterranean in dangerous boats have made the need even more pressing.

Buddhist monks want to keep the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) out of Burma (Myanmar) as it tries to insert itself into the Rohingya controversy there. The OIC has great influence in the United Nations which is picking most of Ireland’s refugees.

In 1999, Ireland agreed to take 1,000 Kosovan refugees; they were resettled in Millstreet, Co Cork; Killarney; Waterford; and Wexford. Many later returned home.

In 2006, 180 Iranian Kurds who had been living in refugee camps in Jordan for 25 years were resettled in Carrick-on-Shannon and Dublin under a UNHCR programme.

In 2007, 100 Burmese Karen people were resettled in Ballina and Castlebar, after coming from Thailand under the UNHCR programme.

In 2008, 71 Sudanese were resettled in Kilkenny city, after transferring from Uganda, also under the UNHCR.

In 2009, 13 Burmese Rohingya families – 64 people in all – were resettled in Carlow town from Bangladesh, under the auspices of the UNHCR.

In 2013, 31 Afghans and four Iraqi Palestinians were admitted from Syria.

In 2014, 90 Syrian refugees fleeing their country’s civil war were resettled from Lebanon with relatives and friends around the country.

This year, 13 Syrian refugees of a projected 100 have arrived; 120 more people, also mainly Syrian, are due next year.

Ireland has separately agreed to admit 114 other refugees under a Syrian humanitarian admission programme.

Every time I see one of these articles about the “persecuted” Rohingya without any mention of the atrocities perpetrated by the Rohingya against the Buddhist Burmese, my blood boils.  I have followed the issue in Burma and Bangladesh for years and know that the Rohingya are not pure-as-the-driven-snow and have been Islamist supremacist agitators and killed many Burmese, but that is NEVER mentioned by the likes of the Irish Times!

Ireland turns down some Syrian refugees due to enormous anticipated medical costs

As theInvasion of Europe continues, Irish hospitals seem to have some common sense.

From the Irish Times:

At the time of this report, Germany said they will take 20,000 Syrians and the US said we will take an “open-ended number.” Now we know the US State Department is shooting for 2,000 before Sept. 30th of this year. Chart here: http://www.thejournal.ie/syrian-refugees-ireland-2-1565934-Jul2014/

A number of refugees due for resettlement in Ireland have been diverted to other countries after the Health Service Executive said they would not be offered medical treatment here.

In five cases involving programme refugees since 2011, the HSE when asked to provide treatment in the Irish health service did not do so, it has confirmed. “The HSE reviews the medical details of these people before they travel. In cases where treatment was not offered in Ireland, it was felt that it was not in the best interest of the applicant. These cases are then referred to another country for consideration,” a spokeswoman said.

Over the same period, it has treated 15 programme refugees with medical needs and it hopes to treat five more this year.

Remember!  It is the UN that is calling the shots and putting pressure on western countries to take refugees.

Programme refugees have been invited to live here by the State under the auspices of the UN Refugee Agency’s Resettlement Programme.

Almost 280 programme refugees from various countries were received by Ireland between 2011 and 2014.

According to the HSE, 90 Syrian refugees were resettled in this country since October 2014. A further 220 refugees are expected to arrive in 2015 and in 2016.

Northern Ireland official: We will take some Syrians even if England is stalling

This story is a few weeks old, so who knows what the latest is, but we will post it to keep our archives on the ‘Invasion of Europe’ comprehensive and as complete as possible.  Gee, I hope they have an agency better than our FBI to screen the Sunni Muslims which make up the majority of the UN program’s flow.  (Our FBI says they can’t be screened!)

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness says it would send an important message! What, that No. Ireland is foolish?

From the Belfast Telegraph:

The Stormont Executive has approached the Home Office over the potential of resettling a number of Syrian refugees in Northern Ireland, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has told the Assembly.

Mr McGuinness said he felt the region should “respond positively” to a call from the United Nations refugee agency – UNHCR – to help some of the more than three million displaced as a consequence of Syria’s bloody internal conflict.

The UK Government has not signed up to the UN programme but has accommodated around 100 refugees under its own Vulnerable Persons Relocation initiative.

Mr McGuinness noted that other European nations were making a much greater contribution to the resettlement efforts through the UN scheme.

He said despite the UK’s government stance he believed Northern Ireland should be allowed to relocate a number of refugees.

Well, they could say they only want ‘religious minorities/Christians’ as Canada has said.  Then there shouldn’t be as big a problem with screening or of them assimilating!

Ireland to take 90+ Syrians, but no welfare for them

More in our ‘invasion of Europe’ series!

Ireland, like all Western countries, has been pressured by the United Nations to do its part and take Syrian “refugees.”  A few months ago they agreed to take 90.  They have 94 applications.

The mystery remains about why the US hasn’t opened America’s door to Syrians in any large numbers yet, especially in light of the enormous pressure from the UN and the US resettlement contractors.

Ireland here we come!

From the Journal:

IRELAND HAS RECEIVED 94 applications from Syrians living in Ireland, asking for vulnerable members of their family still caught up in the conflict to be allowed to travel and reside here.

[….]

People currently still in Syria or those who have fled to neighbouring countries were eligible to apply through their relatives in Ireland.

At the time, then-Minister for Justice, Shatter, said the situation in Syria had reached “catastrophic proportions” and Ireland needed to do more to “allay the concerns of family members who are present here about their most vulnerable family members”.

He said it was also important to show solidarity to Syria’s neighbours, including the Lebanon and Turkey, which have been shouldering the burden of the refugee crisis since 2011.  [Nuts!—ed]

[….]

“A sponsor may be a single person or the head of a family unit. Persons admitted under the programme will be entitled to work, establish a business, or invest in the State.”

There are strict obligations for the applicants in that the person “should not become a burden on the State”.

If these family members cannot find employment the onus will be on the sponsors to support them during their time in Ireland.

So, what happens if they fall into poverty and become a burden on the State, is Ireland going to kick them out?  I doubt it!

See this very informative graphic we posted in February with the promises made by Western countries.

Ireland to take 90 Syrians this year

From thejournal.ie:

IRELAND WILL ACCEPT 90 Syrian refugees this year, the government has told the United Nation’s refugee agency.

Most will be resettled from host countries in the Middle East and North African region. According to the Department of Justice, they could possibly come from over-populated camps in Lebanon and Jordan.

[…..]

Earlier this week, the UK agreed to take up to 500 refugees after a battle with the UNHCR for not signing on to its ‘quota’ programme.

Check out this interesting graphic accompanying the story.  I guess that message that the US has agreed to take 2,000 (from the article about US Rep. Pascrell wanting 15,000) hasn’t reached the UN.  Frankly, I didn’t think the 2,000 was a done deal yet because the security screening will take a long time and we are already 4 months into the fiscal year.

Crazy Germany!  FBI: Who are these Syrians moving into Europe?
