Americans Last! Groups Revitalized by Biden Promises to Immediately Increase Refugee Admissions

HIAS CEO Hetfield (right) received Islamic Relief USA’s “Courage” award in 2017. https://www.hias.org/blog/hias-receives-courage-award-islamic-relief-usa-tireless-work-assisting-refugees

Last Friday “faith based” groups huddled (virtually) with demented Joe‘s proposed head of Homeland Security and declared themselves “refreshed” by promises from their dear leader.

According to Religion News Service, here are the attendees, in addition to Mark Hetfield of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), who are especially thrilled at the prospect of more impoverished Muslims and other third worlders expected to arrive in the US beginning in January:

(I have highlighted some of my personal favorites)

According to a Biden transition official, the meeting also included representatives from Catholic Charities USA, Emgage, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints[Mormons—ed], Code Legal Aid, Christian Churches Together, Jesuit Refugee Services USA, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Arab American Institute, Bridging Cultures Group, Esperanza, the Ismaili Council for the USA, the Secure Community Network, the Islamic Society of North America and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

Those are ‘faith’ groups along with HIAS that DO NOT PUT AMERICANS FIRST.

As I told Neil Munro at Breitbart (and I plan to post this comment every time I write about the America Lasters, fake humanitarians):

There’s no sense trying to argue with [progressives] except to turn it back and say; ‘What about our own poor people? Why aren’t they interested in taking care of our poor Americans? Our homeless? Why are refugees and immigrants somehow cooler and more desirable to take care of than our own poor people? Have we run out of poor Americans to take care of?’ No, clearly, we have not run out of poor Americans.

So here is what Religion News reported:

Biden DHS nominee has ‘refreshing’ meeting with faith groups about immigration, refugees

WASHINGTON (RNS) — President-elect Joe Biden’s nominee to lead the Department of Homeland Security held a roundtable meeting with an array of faith groups on Friday (Dec. 18), a gathering participants described as “refreshing” and a shift away from the Trump administration’s combative relationship with religious organizations regarding immigration and refugee policy.

The long list of attendees huddled virtually with Alejandro Mayorkas, a Cuban American Sephardic Jew and former refugee Biden has tapped as his DHS nominee.

They are especially jazzed at Biden’s promise to open America’s gates to migrants from Muslim countries that hate us!

A Biden transition official noted there was significant energy at the meeting created by Biden’s promise to overturn President Donald Trump’s travel ban, which advocates characterize as a “Muslim ban.” They also discussed laws and regulations governing asylum claims.

Biden says he will one-up Obama!

Biden recently announced at a gathering of the Jesuit Refugee Service that he would raise the refugee ceiling to 125,000, above even the 110,000 cap former President Barack Obama set in his final year in office.

“The door just has not been open for discussion for the last four years for many of us in the human rights community,” Mark Hetfield of HIAS, formerly known as the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, told Religion News Service after the meeting. “It was nice to actually have a meeting where you can discuss issues — that’s a 180 degree change from what we’ve been enduring for the last four years.”

HIAS has been the ringleader of the anti-Trump ‘faith’ groups since before the President was elected in 2016.  They sued the President over Trump’s attempt to give local governments a say in refugee placement.  HIAS, Church World Service, and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service want to decide if your town will be a resettlement site.  They have been making those decisions for decades!

Last year, three faith-based groups, including HIAS, sued the Trump administration over an executive order granting state and local officials the authority to block refugee resettlement.

“I honestly feel there is no better person in the country to serve in this role than Alejandro,” Hetfield said of Mayorkas, who has served on HIAS’ board.

More here.

Speaking of the HIAS board….

You need to know a few other bits of information.

First, HIAS and the United Nations have formalized their relationship according to a press announcement from the UN yesterday. Supposedly it is the first ‘faith’ group to do so.

Zionists zing Hetfield!

Also, yesterday, a press release from the Zionist Organization of America trumpets that HIAS misleads its supporters and the public on several fronts:

ZOA Urges HIAS: Stop Misleading Statement That HIAS Is “Jewish Refugee Agency” and That “HIAS’ Board is 100% Jewish”

HIAS Falsely States Its Partner “Islamic Relief” Is “Apolitical Humanitarian Group” When IR Is On Israel’s and UAE’s Terrorist Lists

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) released the following statement:

The ZOA urges HIAS and HIAS’ President, CEO, and Board member Mark Joseph Hetfield to stop falsely stating that “HIAS’ Board is 100% Jewish”; to stop misleadingly implying that Hetfield is Jewish and speaks for Jews as a Jew; to stop misleadingly claiming that HIAS is a “Global Jewish Refugee Agency,” when in fact approximately 99% of HIAS’ refugee clients are non-Jews (largely Muslim); and to stop falsely stating that HIAS’ partner, “Islamic Relief,” is an “apolitical humanitarian group.”  In fact, Israel, the UAE, and others designate Islamic Relief as a terror organization.

Read it all.

As Americans continue to struggle due to the Chinese virus, I figured it is time to highlight once again the salaries of those who are doing well by doing good.

Parents tell your children to grow up to be charity workers.

Here (below) is a screenshot of HIAS salaries from its most recent IRS Form 990(page 7).

Again, if HIAS was a legitimate private ‘charity’ it would be none of our business what they pay their employees. However, since they took in over $20 million in taxpayer dollars reported in this Form 990, nearly half of their income for the year, it is our business.

Of course these six digit salaries pale in comparison to those I reported recently at the IRC.

Think about it!  Your tax dollars help pay the salaries of these political agitators who have worked tirelessly to defeat our President.

Christians, Jews, Muslims Join Forces on Capitol Hill; Work “Strategically”

And, you can be sure that right now the “interfaith community” is getting in gear for what they anticipate will be a great blue wave in November and they will all be back in business when Biden/Harris fling open our borders to the third world beginning in January.

Of course you are probably reading this and thinking: don’t we need to get our people back to work and get through the Chinese virus panic before you hit the Hill with your strategic lobbying for more refugees and for more payola!

No!  While you are distracted they are busy as they always are working all the angles to get more funding and influence more members of Congress to see things their way.

If a member is Catholic—send in the Catholics!  Jewish? Send in HIAS.  If the Muslims want an entree? The Catholics and the Jews will help make that possible.

This article at Devex describes the basics of well-organized lobbying efforts in Washington that you, average citizens, can NEVER match.

These are all well-funded organizations with high paid staff working 40-hour work weeks, 52 weeks a year to influence Congress, and they hope very soon to get back into the White House.

(emphasis is mine)

‘We can be very strategic’: How faith-based NGOs advocate on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON — Many NGOs dedicate time to advocacy (aka lobbying) on Capitol Hill to garner support for development and humanitarian policies and funding, but faith-based organizations work together to bring a different perspective to these lobbying efforts.

Bill O’Keefe https://www.crs.org/expert/bill.okeefe#bio

“We, at one level, are doing what everybody’s doing, which is trying to understand to the greatest extent we can what drives a particular member. And that is as varied as the membership in the House and Senate,” said Bill O’Keefe, executive vice president for mission, mobilization, and advocacy (aka lobbying) at Catholic Relief Services.***

We do look at what is the religious background of this member, and is there a particular appeal that we can authentically make that would make a difference in this case?”

[….]

CRS aims to meet with every member of Congress regardless of the member’s religious affiliation, O’Keefe said. The organization’s work to eliminate causes of poverty and injustice is rooted in principles of Catholic social teaching, a tradition that bolsters the NGO’s reputation and allows it to work well with members on both sides of the aisle, he said.

[….]

CRS works closely with other faith-based organizations — both those that are part of what O’Keefe calls “Team Catholic,” as well as those of other faiths — on the Hill to coordinate advocacy (aka lobbying) efforts for certain bills or funding requests.

The NGOs determine what type of appeal may be most effective with particular members who may have seats on relevant committees or from whom they want support.

Naomi Steinberg https://www.jewishpublicaffairs.org/naomi-steinberg-hias/

“If there is an office where the elected official is a strong Catholic, it wouldn’t necessarily make sense for HIAS to take the lead on that meeting,” said Naomi Steinberg, vice president of policy and advocacy (aka lobbying) at refugee resettlement organization HIAS.

“Every single day we are in partnership with other faith organizations and we work in coalition on a lot of different issues. What we find is that we are all heading in the same direction and certainly we sometimes might have different strategies, but through the coalition, we really do speak with one voice.

The value of us coming from different faith traditions is that we can be very strategic.”

HIAS began as an agency that resettled Jewish refugees in the U.S. Now, it is one of nine refugee resettlement agencies in the country that works with people of all faiths as well as with refugees abroad — issues Steinberg said have become unfortunately partisan during the Trump administration.

Her team works to develop relationships with congressional offices even when they are not pushing for a particular policy or funding so that when there is a tougher issue on which they seek support, they have existing contacts to tap.

I was a lobbyist decades ago and I can assure you that this is where they spend a lot of their time building their influence. They make friends with staff members and spend time with them, often outside of regular work hours, so that naturally when the lobbyist needs something, they can get a phone call returned or even get an entree to the member on short notice.

Devex continues….

HIAS also ties this advocacy (aka lobbying) closely with its grassroots efforts on refugee issues, which includes urging Jewish communities across the country to contact their members of Congress to express their support for more funding and higher refugee resettlement caps.

[….]

“One of the messages we share with our grassroots advocacy network … is you should never assume that even if your elected official has been on the right side of these refugee issues, that they know how important this is to you, to their constituency,” Steinberg said.

“Keep those calls coming, keep those emails coming. Because we want them to know that people in their district vote partially based on these issues.” [Other than NumbersUSA and FAIR, with limited staff and financing, I don’t know any other organizations doing this on the immigration restriction side of the debate.—ed]

[….]

See Jihad Williams bio at The Investigative Project on Terrorism. Yikes! http://www.investigativeproject.org/documents/misc/728.pdf

Politics can also impact inroads faith-based organizations are able to make on Capitol Hill. Jihad Saleh Williams, senior advocacy  (aka lobbying) and government affairs advisor at Islamic Relief USA, said his organization can have difficulty getting a response from Republican offices who are nervous to meet with a Muslim organization with which they may not be familiar.

As a former congressional aide, Williams said he understands the instinct of Hill staffers to protect their boss at all costs, and that IR USA must understand “discreetness” required for some of its meetings.

[….]

Williams said he often begins outreach with congressional offices by discussing IR USA’s domestic work in order to build relationships.

Many offices incorrectly believe that the organization only works in the Middle East, he said, or only deals with civil liberties and counterterrorism issues. By educating members about work to promote food security and health access — particularly during COVID-19 — in the U.S., Williams said he can gain an entry point to promote the value of international development and humanitarian work as well.

NGOs use interfaith coalitions to work together to counter such misconceptions about particular groups, positioning faith-based organizations as a united block that support the same issues, regardless of religious affiliation, to strengthen their power on the Hill.

[….]

“I really have tried to work hard over time, particularly with Islamic Relief and with other minority religious groups in the United States, to make sure … when people think of the faith community, they don’t just think of the Christian community,” O’Keefe said.

“We partner a lot with Islamic Relief and consider them brothers and sisters in this development and humanitarian world.”

***I just had a look at the most recent Form 990 for Catholic Relief and learned that in 2018 they had an income stream of over $936 Million and of that $453,988,287 (nearly a half a billion!) came from you, the US taxpayer!

No wonder they are busy lobbying on the Hill.

Here is the salaries page from that Form 990. Sean Callahan sure is doing well by doing good!

Personal anecdote:  About 20 years ago I had a reason for wanting to help a Catholic convent in Danang, VN. The sisters there are devout Catholics who had spent a couple of decades in the rice fields when the Communists took over the country.  By the year 2000, the government had lightened up on them and they were back running an orphanage and a school for young children, but they needed financial help.

In my naivete I called Catholic Relief to see if they could help that convent and was told “That isn’t what we do!”

Now I have a better understanding of what they do—big fat salaries, lobbying efforts to garner more funding, and efforts to bring more Muslims into the US is what they do! Nuns in Vietnam who love America can go pound sand.

Refugee Council USA Removes Islamic Relief USA from its Member Roster

That is strange.

Just now as I read this latest salvo against HIAS  (one of nine refugee contractors that monopolize all resettlement to the US) charging that the ‘Jewish’ group has been snuggling up to Islam-first groups like CAIR and Islamic Relief, I went back to the Refugee Council USA members page that I had partially screenshot only a week ago when I wrote about the growing storm over the leadership of the Conference of Presidents—an organization that brings together groups that support Israel and the Jewish people.

I took this screenshot only a week ago of the membership page of RCUSA which is the lobbying arm of the refugee industry in the US.

There were 29 groups listed as members.  Islamic Relief USA was one.

But somewhere between Monday and Friday this past week, Islamic Relief USA was removed (or removed itself) from the membership roster.  See a screenshot today!  There must be a story here!

Just to be sure I wasn’t hallucinating I went to the Wayback Machine and found that on April 27 Islamic Relief was still there and that RCUSA touted 29 member groups.  Today it is 28 members.

Here is the Member page today:

So, the question is, did Islamic Relief quit or did they get the boot!?

We will likely never know because RCUSA is a secretive organization I’ve been trying to learn more about for years.

On the day a few weeks ago when my internet went down I was planning a post about them.  They have a paid staff, they have a Washington, DC office, they are active ‘educating’ Congress about the need to bring in more refugees, they reach out to grassroots open borders activists to give them instructions, etc.

Yet….

They are not incorporated (as far as I can tell), they are not a 501(c)3 charitable organization, but supposedly their banker is Church World Service.

However, when I searched through CWS’s Form 990s I found no mention of money that passes through CWS to RCUSA.

In 2017, we learned that RCUSA paid (or planned to pay) the Podesta Group $100,000 to lobby Senate and House members for more refugees and more money. (Later in 2017 the Podesta Group “ceased to exist” so it is unclear if the funds were paid out for the lobbying campaign.)

(I think you need to see the entire plan the Podesta Group had crafted for RCUSA in March of 2017.)

Where would that money come from if RCUSA (apparently) doesn’t exist as a business or as a non-profit group?

I won’t use the word, but can you hear the washing machine running?

See my many posts on the Refugee Council USA by clicking here.

RCUSA, lobbying arm of refugee industry, kicks off month of action tomorrow

RCUSA=Refugee Council USA.  That is the consortium of Leftwing Open Borders groups, led by the nine refugee contractors, headquartered in Washington DC.

It is not a surprise that they are ramping up their political agitation in August when Congress is in recess and as the September deadline approaches for the President to consult with Congress about his “Determination” for how many refugees could be ‘welcomed’ to America in FY19 which begins on October 1, 2018.

Here is a screenshot of a portion of the page at their website giving their troops marching orders for August….

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society: Send $$$ so we can continue to fight the Prez and work with Islamic Relief

I told you again about the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) here the other day.
They are one of nine federal contractors receiving millions of your tax dollars annually, AND they were a lead organization suing the Trump Administration over the travel ban.
Raising private money is a good thing, but….
Why should we be required to pay for more than half of their budget for their pet projects (including working to encourage more migrants to cross the US border) as outlined by their President and CEO in an appeal for funds today:

Screenshot (1325)

Screenshot (1327)_LI
In case you didn’t know, Mr. Hetfield makes an annual salary of over $300,000!  If private donors want to pay that salary that is their business, but taxpayers shouldn’t be on the hook for any of it!

Let them raise all of their funding from private donations!
Ask your members of Congress and US Senators over the upcoming break why you should have to pay one dime for their political activities! ($24.5 million of your tax dollars in 2016 alone!)
