In Invasion of Europe news, huge refugee flow into Europe fueling the rise of the right wing

This story is from the New York Times yesterday and is built around the news that Bulgaria has completed a significant border fence with Turkey in time for the spring flood of Syrians, other Middle Easterners and Africans trying to get to the more ‘welcoming’ and potentially lucrative, for them, western European countries like Germany and the UK.

Bulgarian security people believe the jihadists are in the flow.

From the New York Times (emphasis is mine):

Bulgaria attempting to keep migrants on the Turkish side of their border.

Lesovo, Bulgaria — Less than two decades after the painstaking removal of a massive border fence designed to keep people in, Bulgarian authorities are just as painstakingly building a new fence along the rugged Turkish border, this time to keep people out.

Faced with a surge of refugees from the Middle East and North Africa — and the risk that they include jihadis intent on terrorist attacks — Europe is bolstering its defenses on many fronts, including this formerly Communist country, which little more than a quarter-century ago was more concerned with stanching the outbound flow of its own citizens to freedom. For the past 16 months, Bulgaria has been carrying out a plan that would sound familiar to anyone along the United States-Mexico frontier: more border officers, new surveillance equipment and the first 20-mile section of its border fence, which was finished in September.

The hardening of the Bulgaria-Turkey border is one very visible manifestation of the agitation across the continent about the economic, social and political ramifications of the surge in immigration. With warmer weather fast approaching and more refugees likely to be on the move, nations along Europe’s southern tier are beefing up border staffing, adding sensors and other technical barriers, expanding refugee facilities, and building walls.

More than 200,000 refugees are known to have penetrated Europe’s land and sea borders last year, not including those who were able to sneak through undetected.

And the numbers for the first two months of this year, when Europe enjoyed its second mild winter in a row, were up sharply compared with the same period last year.

Anti-immigrant sentiment is increasing in Britain, France, Hungary, the Czech Republic and elsewhere across the continent. Parties espousing ethnic nationalism are seeing their support rise, some to the point where they threaten the dominance of more traditional parties.

“The rise of the right wing in Europe is a reaction to this refugee flow,” said Boris B. Cheshirkov, chief spokesman in Bulgaria for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

[….]

Slavcho Velkov, a Bulgarian security expert and university lecturer, said he believed there was more jihadist movement through Bulgaria than the authorities acknowledged.

“I have seen such fighters here with my own eyes,” he said. “I spotted some at the central bus station and struck up a conversation. When I asked them where they were going, they said, ‘We are going to heaven.’ ”

There is a lot more. Continue reading here.

A picture worth a thousand words! UNHCR supplies go to ISIS

The very same United Nations agency that is choosing the refugees for your towns and cities—The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (which receives millions and millions of your tax dollars every year)—is apparently in the ISIS supply business!

This is from Allen West’s blog (hat tip: Lynn):

Well, since some people like Nancy Pelosi think terrorist groups are “humanitarian organizations” or like the Catholic university who thinks they can use some humanitarian support, is it any surprise supplies from the United Nations are finding their way to ISIS?

Yep, ISIS released these images from one of their training camps in Aleppo, and there they are, kneeling on lovely tarps carrying the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) logo.

There is more, read on!

For more on the UNHCR and the present High Commissioner, Antonio Guterres (former socialist Prime Minister of Portugal and former President of Socialist International), click here.   Guterres has 10,000 Syrians in the pipeline to America right now, while the FBI says they can’t be properly screened for security!

NYT: From Minneapolis to ISIS, a refugee’s path to jihad

Well, that is not exactly the New York Times Sunday headline, but close.  What they left out of the lengthy story was the ‘R’ word—Refugee.   Most media outlets have gradually (over the seven years we have been observing the issue) begun to use the right word when it fits—not just “immigrants,” but refugees we welcomed to America.  Apparently the New York Times is not yet able to say it.

Be sure to see my booklet about the Refugee program and the Hijrah to America. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2015/03/17/center-for-security-policy-press-publishes-my-book-second-book-in-civilization-jihad-reader-series/

The extremely large number of Somalis in Minnesota are virtually all refugees or the children of refugees brought there over the last 3 decades*** by three US State Department refugee resettlement contractors:  Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services, and World Relief (re-named Arrive Ministries) which is a supposedly ‘Evangelical’ charity.

But they aren’t charities in the way new readers might think they are.  They masquerade as Christian charities, but work for the federal government.

We recently researched the databases and reported that Minnesota has received over 10,000 Somalis in ten years thanks to the federal government and its contractors.  They were dispersed to over 60 towns and cities!   This past week Somali students in St. Cloud protested claiming they are discriminated against at a local high school (just the beginning?).

So, back to the NYT which featured Abdi Nur a Minneapolis refugee who said, ‘s**** the good life, I’m going to be a jihadist.’   His saga and his family’s tale didn’t interest me.  A couple of things did.

Note the manual that ISIS uses to help recruits get to the Middle East—see the word HIJRA (it means migration to advance the Islamic state or the caliphate) and that is what they are doing to America as well.

What happens when ISIS tells these newbies, stay right where you are, you can advance our cause much more effectively by waging jihad in Minneapolis?  Or, what happens when the feds get very good at stopping the jihadist wannabees from leaving the country and out of frustration they find a means of advancing their Islamic agenda at home?

One other thing that interested me was the graph showing how most of the ISIS recruits from America were from immigrant families.

Here’s Omar!

When Omar Jamal (I call him the Somali Jesse Jackson) gets quoted I know we have some lazy reporting happening!

So his arrival in this NYT story interested me too:

I’ve been writing about the Somali mouthpiece since 2007.   He really showed himself in 2008 when a Somali was found dead in a hotel in Denver not far from the location of the Democratic National Convention with enough cyanide in his room to kill hundreds.  Jamal convinced authorities there was nothing to see, move along, just a dead nutty Canadian Somali.

Omar Jamal’s usual schtick is to say the family is devastated, they had no idea, they are good Americans (or good Canadians).  How could this happen?

By the way, we were able to discover years ago that Jamal entered the US illegally, was convicted of immigration fraud, but was never deported. Did the feds give him some special role?

Click here to see our archive (pages and pages) on Omar Jamal as he pops up across the country and tells the media—move along, nothing to see, Somalis love America.

Be sure to see Jerry Gordon’s post on the NYT story at New English Review.

Washington Post opinion: Preventing the Fall of Rome

I was interested to see this opinion piece titled so provocatively ‘Preventing the Fall of Rome’ by James Stavridis in the Washington Post last Friday.  Then last evening I heard Father Jonathan Morris speaking about the Pope’s new hardline on ISIS on the Neil Cavuto show.

But, couldn’t we say that this Pope with his welcoming blessing of illegal migrants here in July of 2013 helped fuel the ‘Invasion of Europe?’

In 2013 the new Pope welcomed the illegal migrants to Italy on the island of Lampedusa!

And, surely we won’t forget (at least I won’t) Hillary Clinton’s role in the destabilization of Libya, here.

Here is Stavridis (former allied commander of NATO involved in that very same intervention in Libya):

In 1942, Winston Churchill said that Italy was the “soft underbelly” of Europe and directed Allied invasion efforts there. Today, we are seeing flickers of a similar strategy from the Islamic State.

Following the decapitation of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians by radical Islamists professing an allegiance to the Islamic State, the Italian government has begun ramping up efforts to defend its territory from attack. How realistic is this threat? And what should Italy do?

First, we should listen to what the Islamic State has to say : Last year, the group’s propaganda magazine Dabiq featured a cover story headlined “Reflections on the Final Crusade,” which was illustrated with an image of a black jihadist flag flying over St. Peter’s Square. “We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women,” a senior leader of the group was quoted as saying. “If we do not reach that time, then our children and grandchildren will reach it, and they will sell your sons as slaves at the slave market.” Elsewhere, the magazine exhorted, “Every Muslim should get out of his house, find a crusader and kill him. . . . And the Islamic State will remain until its banner flies over Rome.”

Hyperbolic? Of course. Literally possible? Not in the least.*** But should Europeans take these words into account as they think about the possibility of attacks on their homeland? You bet.

As Graeme Wood pointed out in his smart, historically grounded piece in the Atlantic this month, “What ISIS Really Wants,” there is an underlying medieval impetus to the Islamic State’s rhetoric and actions. Beheadings of innocents, burnings of prisoners, crucifixions, the enslavement and sale of women and children, the literal sacking of cities — all of these connote a desire to play on the international stage as though the Crusades were still occurring. Thus we come to the importance of Rome, perhaps the most potent symbol of all that the Islamic State hates.

Italy is the gateway to Europe!

Just as Churchill saw Italy as a relatively easy gateway to Europe, the Islamic State has geographic, political and symbolic interests in sailing to Italy. We must do all we can to help Italy prepare.  [Like what? Is Obama going to send troops to protect the Pope from Muslims?—ed]

Our complete ‘Invasion of Europe’ series is here.

*** Maybe not with military force, but with the inexorable flow of Muslim migrants into Europe and the squishy multicultural-worshiping so-called European leaders in power now.  They seem to have run out of Churchills haven’t they?

UNHCR has 10,000 Syrian refugees in the pipeline for America, but material support of terrorism bar blocking the way

Well, what do you know, some international criticism building because the US has not opened its arms (yet!) to mass numbers of Syrian refugees.

But, as I have pointed out on many occasions, Obama’s name is never linked with the criticism as Bush’s was always linked in media blasts every month for probably a year before the Bush Administration opened the spigot for Iraqi refugees (that are now coming in at a rate of over 20,000 a year!).

We have also been pointing out that the refugee resettlement contractors*** have been demanding 12,000-15,000 Syrians a year be admitted. They were getting geared up—finding new towns in which to resettle them—and then a few weeks ago the boom dropped when the FBI testified in the House Homeland Security Committee that there is no way they can properly screen the Syrians.  Of course, there is no way to properly screen the over 800 Somalis entering the US every month now either!

Anne Richard Asst. Secretary of State with UNHCR Antonio Guterres: partners in deciding what third-worlders are coming to your town!

This is interesting news, despite the lifting of the ban on material support, the Obama Administration has yet to apply the lesser screening requirements to Syrians.

By the way, if you saw the record-breaking post on Spartanburg, SC you know that one group World Relief would like to settle in South Carolina is Syrians.

We have resettled around 500 Syrians so far.  Approximately 87% are Muslims.  See where they have been placed in the US in the first three months of FY2015, here.

There is one way to get around this worry over screening Muslims, don’t bring Muslims!

We could join Canada and say only Christians and other minorities are permitted entry into the US!

By continuing to select Syrians for America, the UN is putting political pressure on our Homeland Security Department to step it up.  There will be much wailing that we couldn’t possibly be so mean as to leave all these people waiting in line!

From The Guardian (emphasis below is mine):

The US is preparing to permanently resettle thousands of the millions of Syrians forced to flee their homes during the country’s four-year civil war. But as the lengthy resettlement process speeds up, some human rights advocates are concerned that certain refugees are being unfairly excluded.  [Once the pipeline is open, and even if the civil war comes to an end, the flow of permanent refugees from Syria will continue for years.—ed]

So far, the US has accepted only tiny numbers of Syrians: 105 in the year to October 2014 and just 36 in the year before that, although it has stepped up admissions with 350 refugees in the past four months.

Last year officials eased the “material support” rule under US immigration law that was designed to prevent terrorist sympathisers from entering the US but instead acted as a dragnet, ensnaring Syrians with no real connection to terrorism. More than a year later, however, advocates say they still have not seen the exemptions applied to Syrian refugee cases.

“What this means is that a lot of people who need protections and who might fall under those ‘material support’ inclusions – by no fault of their own – aren’t getting protection in the US,” said Noah Gottschalk, senior humanitarian policy adviser for Oxfam America. “And that means that a number of people who are among the most vulnerable in the world are being denied protections that they very much need.”

Representatives from a handful of refugee aid groups said they were still waiting for the the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to release guidelines on how to apply the rule change. Until then, they said, Syrian refugees applying for residence in the US were at risk of being denied entry for an act as small as selling sandwiches to rebel fighters.  [This is a straw man argument, what refugee in his right mind is going to report on an application for admission to the US that he/she gave sandwiches to rebels?—ed]

“Our main concern at this stage is the absence of that guidance,” said Anna Greene, the policy and advocacy director for US programmes at the International Rescue Committee (IRC).  [The IRC is a contractor looking for more paying “clients” to resettle.—ed]

For those who don’t believe it, here it is again.  The UN is picking our refugees!

The US State Department has received more than 11,000 resettlement applications from Syrian refugees in recent months, the vast majority of which are referrals from the UN high commissioner for refugees (UNHCR).

Quick!  US taxpayers, hide your wallets!

Don’t worry, terrorist men won’t get in because we are only planning to bring economically needy women, children, senior citizens and sick and disabled people!

Richard (Anne Richard, Asst. Secretary of State for PRM) said the US intended to accept thousands of Syrian refugees in 2015 and 2016. She said she did not anticipate security being an issue with the Syrians the UNHCR was referring to the US, as the majority were widows, women and children, elderly people and people with debilitating medical conditions.

Read it all.

*** The federal refugee contractors have been lobbying for up to 15,000 Syrians a year for the US.
