Millions in Africa and Asia Assume Biden/Harris Will Open America’s Gates

“People here have been very engaged in the election results. There has been a lot of conversations about Biden and people are very optimistic now. I don’t think he will be racist like Trump.”

(Abdi, a Somali living safely in Kenya)

From Kakuma to a town near you!

Yup, they are chomping at the bit to get to Anytown, USA as soon as they can!

Muslim Somalis and Rohingya voice their enthusiasm and expectations here at Reuters:

From Asia to Africa, refugees hope Biden win could help rebuild lives

Joe Biden’s U.S. presidential election win [not so fast!—ed] has raised hopes of resettlement for refugees from Asia to Africa, many in countries where they are denied work and education and have no formal status.

[….]

President-elect Biden is expected to try to reverse much of Trump’s immigration legacy including travel bans on 13 countries that are either majority-Muslim or African nations.

He has also said he would raise the annual ceiling for refugee admissions to 125,000, but has not indicated how quickly that would happen.

Refugee Council USA is the lobbying arm of the refugee industry. See my lengthy archive on them here: https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/?s=Refugee+Council+USA

Danielle Grigsby, Refugee Council USA’s Director of Policy and Practice, said there were many reasons to be optimistic about more progressive refugee and immigration policies under the Biden-Harris government.

“There has been a lot of early signals on from the Biden-Harris team to get rid of some of the totally unnecessary hurdles that have been put in place to intentionally slow refugees from coming to the U.S.,” said Grigsby.

[….]

In Sub-Saharan Africa, home to more than one in four of the world’s 80 million refugees and displaced people, tens of thousands of people have had their applications for resettlement suspended since Trump took office in 2017.

[….]

U.N. data shows 2,636 Somali refugees have so far been resettled in the United States under the present administration against the 32,068 Somali refugees accepted under the second term of former President Barack Obama.

[….]

People here have been very engaged in the election results. There has been a lot of conversations about Biden and people are very optimistic now. I don’t think he will be racist like Trump,” he said by phone.

Not just Somalis itching to get here, but expectations have been raised among Rohingya in Bangladesh ….

Rohingya Muslims waiting in Bangladesh for a Biden ticket to America.

Sharifah Shakirah, a Rohingya former refugee who moved to Texas after 21 years in Malaysia, said resettlement was the best solution for the nearly a million members of her ethnic group living in Bangladesh after fleeing persecution in Myanmar.  [Bangladesh is a safe Muslim country.—ed]

“One million Rohingya in Bangladesh have no livelihood, no security, no education,” she said. “They cannot live there for another 10 years. They need a solution and resettlement is one of the solutions.”

Once again, Bangladesh is a safe Muslim country.  Just being poor isn’t sufficient to be declared a legitimate refugee under international law.

More here at Reuters.

I have been following the Rohingya migration for more than a decade so if you are interested in learning more about the issue see my Rohingya Reports archive with 243 previous posts.

When the Chinese virus began spreading around the world the international press, the UN, and international NGOs used the Rohingya as an example of poor refugees that, due to their living conditions, would be ravaged by the virus. It never happened. No virus “wildfire” in the Rohingya camps or the African camps either.  Hmmmm?

CNN: “Untold Number” of Fake Refugees Admitted to US for Decades

I never thought I would see a headline like this one from CNN:

How fake refugees from Kenya got settled in the US and Europe

Previously we reported on an extensive investigation by NBC about the massive fraud happening at United Nations camps in Kenya, but this gives us additional details about how Kenyans pretended to be Somalis and got tickets out of Africa.

The sprawling UN refugee camp in Kenya, Dadaab, is where Rep. Ilhan Omar and her ‘family’ lived prior to getting their ticket to America.

Here is just a bit of a must-read investigative report (Hat tip: Joanne):

(CNN begins with the usual ‘star’ of the story.)

But his family members weren’t refugees, and they weren’t born in Somalia — they were born in Kenya, and he says his father faked their refugee status in the 1990s to get into the US.

“I feel bad for them [the real refugees], but at the same time it is all about first come, first served. I feel like if they had come before us, then we would have been the ones to stay and they would be the ones who would have gone,” he says.

He agreed to speak to CNN on the condition of anonymity, afraid of being found out.

Refugee status should be reserved for people fleeing across international boundaries from targeted persecution or war.

But in Kenya, home to one of the largest refugee populations on the planet, tens of thousands of registered refugees aren’t refugees at all.

Fathiaa Abdalla, the UNHCR representative in Kenya: “I am not aware of any Kenyans being resettled as refugees.”

A CNN investigation has determined that from the late 1990s through 2016 an untold number of these fake refugees were resettled in the US and elsewhere.

[….]

All told, there are at least 40,000 Kenyans registered as refugees in the Dadaab camps alone, according to both UNHCR and government numbers, in what officials euphemistically term “double registration.”

The UN continues to deny it has massive corruption on its hands!

“We have a zero-tolerance policy, we have anti-fraud committees, we have anti-fraud focal point in the camps, we have help line for refugees or anyone, you could get into our help line right now and report anything. These systems are very good, and they are working,” said Abdalla.

Continue reading here.  Of course there is no mention of the fact that this fraud was significantly curbed when Trump slowed the flow of ‘Somalis’ (fake or otherwise) to America leaving the UN scrambling to place possibly fake refugees in Europe, Canada and Australia.

I’m still shaking my head—the words “fake refugees” in a CNN headline!  What is the world coming to!

I wonder did the nine resettlement contractors working for the State Department ever get a whiff of this kind of fraud when they had close personal contact with fake refugees?

For serious students of refugee fraud, you might want to visit my extensive archive on the Somali family reunification fraud first uncovered in 2008.  One of many posts on the subject is here.

Kansas City Somali family of nine wants Trump to let Dad in to US

Leave it to the refugee industry’s public relations apparatus to get a story planted in the Kansas City Star just as Donald Trump arrived in the state next door for a rally for Kansas Republican candidates including gubernatorial candidate, a leading immigration control advocate, Kris Kobach.  One story is here.

(This Somali family lives in Kansas City, Missouri)

Here is the headline with the usual story line (family happy to be in America, only wish Dad was with them).

As Trump cuts refugee numbers, outlook dim for father to join KC Muslim family of 9

But, why wasn’t Dad with them and caring for them in Kenya (a safe country btw)?

welcoming Somalis in KC
The family arrived from Kenya in 2017 to cheers from local advocates for more refugee admissions.       https://www.nwahomepage.com/news/fox-24/somali-family-of-nine-touches-down-in-kansas-city-mo/653945636

Somali refugee Sahra Hassan Absuge and her eight children today enjoy what they could only dream of two years ago.

A two-story house. A couple of jobs. Schools. Donated appliances. [Food stamps and Medicaid fills the gap says the story.—-ed]

“I am so lucky,” Absuge said. “It’s by the grace of God that we are here.”

All that’s missing is her husband.

Also a refugee from Somalia, he seeks to one day join his Kansas City family after four years of being separated, trapped in another war zone. But chances for a reunion anytime soon appear slim, given ever-deepening cuts in the number of refugees allowed into the U.S.

Absuge and her children barely got in themselves.

Twenty months ago, dozens of cheering supporters at Kansas City International Airport greeted the family after they had squeezed through a tightening slipknot on refugee travel.

Continue here for all the happy talk and mention of their resettlement agency—Della Lamb—a Methodist group, a subcontractor of the Ethiopian Community Development Council (one of nine federal resettlement contractors that work for the US State Department).

Then a lament about a slowdown in family reunification:

At Della Lamb, Hyde and director of refugee resettlement Abdul Bakar could think of resettling only one Muslim on the Missouri side in the past year.

Absuge’s husband, the father of all eight of the children, is Muslim.

“There used to a good pipeline for family reunification,” said Judy Akers, Della Lamb’s executive director. “But there hasn’t been much spoken of that recently.”

Family reunification suspended in 2008 for Somalia….

Longtime readers may remember that the US State Department had to suspend the whole family reunification program for Somalis beginning in 2008 due to massive fraud in the P-3 (family reunification) program, see here.  The suspension lasted several years.

I sure hope Homeland Security is doing some robust vetting of Dad. He left their Nairobi village in 2014? (Someone check the age of the youngest child!).  But other news reports say they were living in a UN camp.

He went to Sudan looking for work in the middle of civil unrest there? And, then instead of returning to his family in a safe Kenya he ‘flees’ to Uganda. WTH!

Dad then ‘finds his family’ on YouTube videos?

He could have found them if he had returned to safe Kenya from his sojourn in Sudan instead of hotfooting it to Uganda!

KC Star continues….

….father left their Nairobi refugee village in 2014 to seek work in Sudan. He instead encountered homelessness, civil war and hunger before fleeing to Uganda. When his family resettled in America, his wife didn’t know if Abdullahi was alive or dead. [Really! Or did this family have a better shot of getting in to the US as women and children only?—ed]

Wow! Dad found after the family got to KC!

The father, through friends in Nairobi, learned of the family’s whereabouts with the help of the internet and those YouTube videos. “Search ‘refugees’…and our family of nine pops up,” Absuge said through the interpreter.

US top refugee processing countries shifting with Trump Administration

I know this is getting in to the weeds, but I want readers to understand that for instance, the Somali refugees arriving in the US are picked up all over the world, and so if there is a ‘travel ban’ for say Somalia it doesn’t mean that no Somalis are coming.

rpcLogoSmall [Converted]

Most Somalis coming to the US come from Kenya because the big UN camps are there and the UN makes the first cut on who comes to America.

From time to time, I show you processing country maps which are posted at Wrapsnet (the State Department’s Refugee Processing Center) for the previous months of the fiscal year (by the 5th of the present month).

For background, visit this post from December 2016 where you can see the top PROCESSING country is Kenya followed by Turkey and Tanzania as numbers two and three.

I’m always annoyed to see Malta as a processing country because as a European country it is responsible for the illegal boat migrants who land on its shores (not America!), but ever since the Bush Administration we have been turning illegal aliens on Malta into refugees destined for Your Town, USA.  See my huge archive on the disgraceful Malta deal, here.

And, tell me, how can they seriously assure us that some boat migrant from Libya who washed ashore on the island nation of Malta has been thoroughly security screened!  Was he carrying his documents and criminal record in a ziploc bag?

Here is Wrapsnet’s processing countries map for the first month of President Trump’s first full fiscal year—October FY18.  FY17 began when Obama was still in office.

Screenshot (1064)
In the first month of fiscal year 2018 the US admitted 1,247 refugees

Here below is a list of the countries from which we are processing refugees so far this fiscal year.

Malta to America Express!

See that Trump’s State Department has continued the Malta to America express!  By the way there is no way I’ve ever figured out how to identify what nationalities are arriving from Malta.  In the past we did learn that many are Somalis. The numbers are small but significant because we again are taking illegal migrants that are really Europe’s problem!

The Trump Administration could stop the Malta arrangement with a phone call if they wanted to.

And, I sure would like to know why we take any refugees from Israel! They should be taking care of whichever ‘refugees’ seek asylum there.  What is that all about.

Screenshot (1067)_LI
Kenya is still in the top three but dropped from first to third place. First place goes to Nepal (for the so-called Bhutanese refugees) with Malaysia as number two. Note that Ethiopia is not far behind the top 3. Malaysia is the likely jumping off location for Rohingya to America. Turkey and Tanzania are now way down the list.

Since one of the top three sending countries is Kenya I checked Wrapsnet for the number of Somalis who entered the US in the month of October.  The total number was 113.

Then, for fun! I wanted to see how many and where they went in Minnesota. The total was 23 in October.  Minnesota got the highest number in the 113. The other 90 were scattered around America. None to St. Cloud right now.

Screenshot (1066)

Here are some of the top ethnic groups resettled in the US in October: Bhutanese (273), DR Congolese (181), Burmese (147), Somalis (113), Ukrainians (77) and Syrians (33).

Because knowledge is power, here is what you can do…

With long cold winter days ahead, you too might want to have fun with numbers at Wrapsnet, the US State Department’s data collection site.  You never know what you might find out about your own state or even your own town!

Endnote: While we are looking at maps, you might want to revisit a map showing the countries that have been warned about the deadly Plague spreading out from Madagascar.

Processing country map is instructive: US Dept. of State working hard to clean out UN camps in Kenya

I find  it interesting to examine Wrapsnet’s ‘Processing Country’ maps when they are updated at the end of each month.  We don’t know exactly who is being processed through each country (these are not necessarily the countries of origin of the refugees being placed in your towns), however we can make educated guesses. Kenya for example….

dadaab
UNHCR camp (Dadaab) in Kenya where Somalis wait for a ticket to your town. This is why Kenya is the #2 processing country for refugees arriving in the US.

Since Kenya, considered a safe country that has hosted huge United Nations camps primarily for Somalis, is the second largest processing country, we can assume that we are working hard to help the UN clean out camps like Dadaab and that large numbers of Somalis are arriving from the camps Kenya would like to close! The Kenyan government believes Islamic terrorists are harbored in the UN camps.
In the first three months of the present fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2016-December 31, 2016) we admitted 25,671 refugees, a much higher number than I have seen for the last 10 years and in keeping with reports like this one from Rochester, NY where the resettlement contractor says they can’t manage the huge flow coming in.
Of the 25,671, Iraqis account for 3,624, Syrians 3,566 and Somalis 3,488 (all terror producing countries).

If Donald Trump doesn’t pause the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program when he takes office, and this rate of entry continues, we will have the highest years for Syrians and Somalis (in 30 years for Somalis!) entering the US.

So here (below) is the latest ‘Processing country’ map (I did not reproduce the South American portion, but know that we are processing small numbers in from there).
Not obvious on this map, and not in the top ten, but noteworthy are the island nation of Malta (in the EU) that sent us 170 illegal alien boat people (calling them refugees) who landed on Malta in just those three months. They are the European Union’s problem, not ours! I have written dozens of posts on this practice that began in the Bush Administration!  See here.
Also maddening is the fact that we are doing the same thing in South Africa where we are taking that country’s illegal aliens (such as the unwanted Somalis) to the US as refugees.  In the first three months we took in 338 from S. Africa. These are not persecuted whites we are admitting! South Africa is supposed to be the welcoming RAINBOW NATION, so why must we take their rejected asylum seekers? Why are their immigration problems ours?

There are so many reforms Congress could be making even if they don’t have the stomach for a complete rewrite of this program, including disallowing such practices as we see going on with S. Africa and Malta!
Here is the ‘Processing Country’ map and note that in many cases these are Muslim countries we are processing from.

Here are the Top Ten Processing countries (remember we don’t know which nationalities are being processed in these locations):

  1. Turkey (3,102)
  2. Kenya (3,064)
  3. Jordan (2,394)
  4. Tanzania (1,768)
  5. Uganda (1,673)
  6. Iraq (1,574)
  7. Nepal (1,458)
  8. Malaysia (1,297)
  9. Ukraine (1,221)
