Hillary's Libyan legacy still responsible for invasion of Europe as Italy panics

Invasion of Europe news….
I’m not going to let you all forget that it was Hillary and her girls who were responsible for the overthrow of Libyan strongman Muammar Ghaddafi that resulted in the opening of the flood gates from Africa to Europe for tens of thousands of mostly economic migrants from the heart of Africa to countries like Italy geographically on the frontline of the invasion.
Even Obama didn’t have the stomach for the slaughter of Ghaddafi.  I followed the whole sorry tale from its earliest days here at RRW.

Susan Rice, Hillary and Samantha Power. Hillary admitted that in 2011 Obama was reluctant to follow Europe’s lead and get involved in Libya, but that she marshaled the forces (including Susan Rice and Samantha Power) to persuade Obama to help overthrow Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. Of course the Europeans made that fatal mistake in the earliest days of the invasion by not turning back (using safe methods) the first boats that were launched from the Libyan coast. Now they rescue each one sending a signal to people smugglers to keep ’em coming!

Italy panics as North Africa migrants surge

Italy will host a meeting between European and North African countries next week in a bid to strengthen support for an agreement it struck with Libya to fight people smuggling as migrant arrivals surge.

The prime minister of the UN-backed government in Tripoli, Fayez Al-Seraj, will meet with Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni and interior ministers from eight European countries including Germany and France on Monday.

Last month, Italy pledged money, training and equipment to help Libya fight people smugglers, a deal that was endorsed by European Union member states.

But Libya is still far from stable. Two governments are vying for power – in Tobruk to the east and Tripoli to the west – and the country remains mired in factional fighting and lawlessness.

The authorities in eastern Libya have rejected the deal struck between Rome and Tripoli.

“I’m not so naive as to not understand the situation there,” Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti told reporters. “But we cannot remain immobile and wait for the country to stabilise.”

He said the Libya agreement and next week’s meeting were not just “talk”, but strategic steps toward managing mass migration to Europe.

So far this year more than 16,000 migrants – a 36 per cent increase on the same period last year – have been rescued at sea and brought to Italy after Libya-based people smugglers piled them onto flimsy boats.

Here is a long story at Bloomberg Businessweek that you don’t have to read. It is an overly-long, detailed account of the travails of a Somali migrant (is he even telling the truth?) being trafficked in to Europe.

The invasion began in earnest when Obama and Hillary destabilized Libya opening the best migrant launchpad ever available on the coast of North Africa.  (I have many posts here on Hillary and Libya).
In 2015, then Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott told the Europeans what they must do.  They didn’t listen!
He said to begin (safely) turning boats back to the African coast.  It would only take a few returns to derail the network of traffickers making millions by moving Africans to Europe.
I can’t believe that we might see the end of Europe as a bulwark of western civilization even in my lifetime (and I am old!), my children will certainly see it!

Tony Abbott: Turn back the boats!

In my opinion, only two paragraphs matter in this long Bloomberg piece that followed the route of one Somali star of the story. Here they are:

At last, one night in the spring of 2015, some men moved him to a rubber boat on the beach. With a hundred other people, he moved out onto the darkened Mediterranean. “We were on the water for 16 hours,” he said. One migrant carried a satellite phone and called an Italian number when the boat started to leak. “Then we were rescued by the Italian Coast Guard,” said Ahmed.

The rescue ships on the Mediterranean—the U.S. Coast Guard, NGO vessels, Eunavfor frigates—try to give some comfort to the people they scoop from the sea. They offer thin, warm stew and a quick medical checkup before delivering them to an Italian port. Ahmed arrived in Sicily in about March 2015. He’s still there, at the CARA Mineo refugee camp, waiting for European asylum.

The traffickers know how to get the invaders ‘rescued.’

I didn’t know that the US Coast Guard was involved in the European invasion, but, if so, it’s time for Trump to pull them back.

Samantha Power whines: don't cut UN funding!

Perhaps after Obama and Hillary, Samantha Power is next on my list of Leftists I will be happy to see leave the world stage.

We have written extensively about Ms. Power who along with Hillary and Susan Rice (I called them the three witches!) nagged Obama to overthrow Muammar Gaddafi which unleashed a new wave of African migration to Europe via the now failed state of Libya.

Samantha Power and Obama share the same views of Israel and you can bet she was knee deep in getting the anti-Israel resolution through the Security Council.

Readers, if the US cuts our funding to the UN (I know it’s a long shot), but that one act could help ‘pause’ refugee admissions to America like nothing else (since the UN is now picking almost all of our refugees).
Unfortunately it looks like the Ted Cruz/Lindsey Graham effort to cut funding is tied only to the resolution on Israel.

(AFP) UNITED NATIONS, United States — US Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power on Friday warned that cutting US funding to the United Nations would be “extremely detrimental” to American interests, one week before Donald Trump’s administration takes office.

Addressing her final news conference, Power told reporters that “countries like Russia and China” would benefit from Washington’s reduced standing at the United Nations if funding were withdrawn.

“We lead the world, in part, by leading at the UN,” said Power, who is stepping down next week after four years as President Barack Obama’s ambassador to the United Nations.

The Safeguard Israel Act of 2017 — introduced by Senate Republicans Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham — aims to push back against the UN by threatening to pull billions of dollars in funding.

She began her White House career as the Iraqi refugee czar but was quoted in 2012 indicating her frustration with  “doing rinky-dink do-gooder stuff,” such as advocating on behalf of beleaguered Christians in Iraq.
She moved on to join the girls (the “humanitarian Vulcans”) in working to destabilize Libya and from there she climbed to her perch at the UN.
I shudder to think where she will turn up next!

A few days ago, an American reader sent me a story about the supposedly non-profit groups that have furnished rescue ships operating in the Mediterranean.  I didn’t have time to look at it carefully (and I knew I had previously written about one such ship, here), but when a longtime reader from Malta sent me more links yesterday, I spent a little time just now going over reports.
The allegations are that the ‘non-profit’ ships may be working in concert with human traffickers in Libya and that they are not simply picking up (mostly economic) migrants in European waters, but meeting the Africans and Middle Easterners who want to get to Europe in the waters right off Libya.  In such locations any foundering vessel would logically be returned to the African coast, the shortest distance by far, but are intercepted and taken all the way to Italy.
(By the way, any mention of Libya gets my blood boiling because we know it is now a gateway for invaders of Europe thanks to Hillary Clinton—a story I followed from its outset!)

Here is one story on the allegations against these ‘non-profits.’
The Way:

For two months, GEFIRA using marinetraffic.com have been monitoring the movements of ships owned by a couple of NGOs, and, using data from data.unhcr.org.

Gerira [GEFIRA?] have kept track of the daily arrivals of African immigrants in Italy. It turned out we have witnessed a massive scam of illegal human trafficting.

NGOs, smugglers, the mafia in cahoots with the European Union have shipped thousands of illegals into Europe under the pretext of rescuing people, assisted by the Italian coast guard which coordinated their activities.

Human traffickers contact the Italian coast guard in advance to receive support and to pick up their dubious cargo. NGO ships are directed to the “rescue spot” even as those to be rescued are still in Libya.

The 15 ships GEFIRA observed are owned or leased by NGOs have regularly been seen to leave their Italian ports, head south, stop short of reaching the Libyan coast, pick up their human cargo, and take course back 260 miles to Italy even though the port of Zarzis in Tunis is just 60 mile away from the rescue spot.

The organizations in question are: MOAS, Jugend Rettet, Stichting Bootvluchting, Médecins Sans Frontières, Save the Children, Proactiva Open Arms, Sea-Watch.org, Sea-Eye and Life Boat.

One cannot help but wonder whether the MOAS people are honest saviours or they are on a mission to destabilise Europe even further.

MOAS stands for Migrant Offshore Aid Station. It is a Malta-based non-governmental organisation, which set itself the task of patrolling the Mediterranean and rescuing people in high seas, lifting them up from dinghies, rafts and boats onto the Phoenix, the MOAS-owned trawler, a vessel complete with drones for scanning the waters, and ferrying migrants from places several miles off the Libyan shore to Sicily. The organisation is run by Chris Catrambone (35) and his wife Regina.

And, by the way, in February of this year, we reported that the ‘Phoenix’ was headed to Asia to rescue Muslim Rohingya, but I don’t know if that ever happened. (I’m always surprised by how much information is here at RRW that I’ve forgotten about!)

Even if the ‘rescue’ ships are doing nothing illegal, their very presence simply encourages more migrants to attempt sea crossings.

…Blame Hillary for African invasion of Europe!

Where are you Tony Abbott (former Australian Prime Minister)?  Gee, about time that the dim bulbs in Europe are beginning to see the sense of a your suggestion from the spring of 2015—turn back the boats!  But, it strikes me that such a suggestion now is about a million migrants too late!
Here is the story at Reuters:

The German Interior Ministry wants to stop migrants ever reaching Europe’s Mediterranean coast by picking them up at sea and returning them to Africa, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper reported on Sunday.

In what would be a huge shift for a country with one of the most generous asylum policies, the ministry says the European Union should adopt an Australian-style system under which migrants intercepted at sea are sent for processing at camps in third countries.

“The elimination of the prospect of reaching the European coast could convince migrants to avoid embarking on the life-threatening and costly journey in the first place,” the paper quoted a ministry spokeswoman as saying.

And so why would these African nations want the hordes parked in their country making trouble? (Wishful thinking on the part of Germany!)

The ministry’s proposal calls for migrants picked up in the Mediterranean – most of whom set off from conflict-torn Libya – to be sent to Tunisia, Egypt or other north African states to apply for asylum from there.

If their asylum applications are accepted, the migrants could then be transported safely to Europe.

If they turned only a few boats back to the African coast, or we bused back across our southern border a few busloads of illegal aliens immediately upon their arrival in Texas or Arizona, advertised it far and wide, the flow would slow immediately!

Blame Hillary!

Do not forget that it was Hillary Clinton who was responsible (Obama had to be persuaded) for destabilizing Libya and creating this migration route to Europe through Libya.
