The answer is no, but there isn’t any reason it shouldn’t. It is only about 75 miles from the state’s largest resettlement site—Milwaukee. (Any town within a hundred miles of a federal contractor’s office is fair game).
Janesville, Wisconsin is Speaker Paul Ryan’s hometown and a reader asked me recently, that since he is so gung-ho for refugees to come to America, does he have them where he lives?
Maybe a few have moved from other resettlement cities in Wisconsin—Milwaukee or Oshkosh, but there is no federally funded resettlement office there.
Since I checked the data for our inquisitive reader, here are a few facts about the numbers going to Wisconsin.
I started my search in the fall of 2008 (just as Obama was being elected) and ended the first of May.
Wisconsin ‘welcomed’ 7,143 in those nearly 8 years. That is a small number compared to the the big states like Texas which resettles that many in one year.
In Ryan’s 1st District, none went to Janesville, but a tiny number, about 30 went to Waukesha, just outside of Milwaukee. Only a handful went to Racine.
Of the 7,143 who went to the state of Wisconsin, the breakdown is as follows: Burmese (4,029), Iraqis (1,083) and Somalis (811), in addition to smaller numbers of many other ethnic groups.
According to the Washington Post the impact on his family might not be so great anyway since his kids all attend private Catholic School.
Schools are where ‘welcoming’ towns first experience the cultural and economic pressure a few years after opening their doors to the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program.
What? No mosque, no interfaith group as we learned about this morning in Charleston, WV pushing for Syrians to be seeded into Janesville?
So, why not Janesville? Maybe there is a cheese factory nearby in need of cheap immigrant laborers?
Endnote: Republican Paul Nehlen is hoping to upset Ryan in the upcoming primary there on August 9th.

Speaker Paul Ryan complicit in Syrian migrant surge to America
Maybe my choice of the word “complicit” is being too easy on him!
Writer George Rasley at Conservative HQ puts the blame on Ryan for not halting the program in that now infamous Omnibus funding bill late last year when he had the chance. Rasley also explains in ‘Paul Ryan’s Hijra‘ that Ryan knew all along what he was doing to make it look like the Republican House was on our side when he knew full well, the Senate would do the job for him!
Nice to see the word “Hijra” getting more attention these days.
Be sure to see Richard Falknor, here at Blue Ridge Forum admonishing national security leaders, but really every one of us, to learn the ten words (first published at Gates of Vienna) that many in our woefully uneducated national security apparatus don’t even know! Go there and see if you know all ten! (Hijra is third on the list)
Back to Ryan’s Hijra where Rasley reports on the revelation yesterday (headlined at Drudge) that the Syrian refugee surge is now full steam ahead (hat tip: Cathy):
…on Monday the State Department admitted 225 Syrian Muslim “refugees”, setting a single-day record, and on Tuesday a further 80 were admitted. [This is why you are seeing so much activity by the feds/contractors trying to find new resettlement sites—ed]
As our friend Stephen Dinan of The Washington Times put it, “the spike is stunning, with more people accepted Monday alone than in the entire months of January or February.”
As Dinen noted, Obama has promised to accept 10,000 refugees from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30. As of Tuesday evening, the administration had approved 2,540 — an average of about 10 applications a day.
Less than 1 percent of these “refugees” are Christians, whose oppression is well documented, according to Dinen 97 percent are Sunni Muslims, the same Sunni Muslim who form the Taliban, al Qaeda and the Islamic State.
But, it isn’t just Obama we should blame!
In a rational world this dangerous piece of Obama’s plan to fundamentally transform America by importing jihad into our country would be stopped cold by a Republican majority in Congress.
But this is not a rational world, this is a world run by the personal whim of arrogant Washington insiders, chief among them being Democratic President Barack Obama and Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
Ryan has made increasing Muslim immigration to America his special project and has steadfastly fought any attempts by conservatives to slow or stop what a large majority of American believe is an existential threat to constitutional liberty.
Ryan, as many conservatives demanded, could have included a defund in the must-pass Omnibus that would have effectively ended or temporarily halted the program.
You need to go to Conservative HQ and see how Ryan manipulated the vote to make it look like the Republican House cared about you and your security.

And, finally for new readers, check out my book of last year ‘Refugee Resettlement and the Hijra to America.‘ I hadn’t been to Amazon for months and was surprised to see that there are 94 customer reviews. Some day I’ll pull out some of the meanest comments (I bet they never even read the book!).
House immigration subcommittee set to mark-up refugee reform bill tomorrow; why now?
It is my duty to report on this bill being championed by Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) and Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, but sorry I can’t get too excited about it. And, although he is apparently a co-sponsor, why isn’t Subcommittee Chairman Trey Gowdy (bff Open borders Marco) leading this effort? Hmmm…..
Here is the press release from the House Judiciary Committee announcing the mark-up of a bill that will likely go nowhere. I could be wrong, but at this late stage in the legislative calendar and with an election coming up in November, call me a cynic!
Does the Committee want to make sure that the earlier Babin bill (which would temporarily halt the program altogether) is squashed?
Are they trying to calm down citizens in their districts who are clamoring for governors (mostly Republican governors) to do something? In other words, is this a pat on your heads with a ‘don’t worry, go about your business, we will take care of you?’
And, let me ask you, do we really want this particular pro-donor class (big business establishment/Chamber of Commerce) Republican leadership making the determination about how many refugees are admitted anymore than say a Trump White House? Do you trust Rep. Paul Ryan and Senator Mitch (bring’em to Kentucky) McConnell to set levels?
By offering fig leaves, are they attempting to save the whole program which in my view (after 8 years of following this) needs to be completely trashed!
And, does this bill do anything to disrupt the flow of billions of taxpayer dollars to unaccountable ‘religious’ non-profits who really call the shots on who is resettled where in America? Someone correct me, does it do anything to give them all the heave-ho?
Again, sorry to sound so cynical. I am open to someone convincing me that this is going to do anything (other than attempt to quiet the angry masses).
Oops! There is one thing it does for sure. It causes the Open borders left and the Refugee Contractors (organized by their lobbying arm, Refugee Council USA) to go to their grassroots and fire them up once again, see here. I enjoy seeing them aggravated, but does stirring them up in this critical election year with a bill going nowhere really help us?
Go here to see the press release (thanks to all who sent it!).
That said, by all means though follow the lead of groups like NumbersUSA pushing for you to contact your members of Congress. You do want them to know that the issue is one that motivates and angers you!
Speaker Ryan blasts Trump over Muslim ban, can we hear Grover in his words?
That would be Grover Norquist of course, Ryan’s doppelgänger! (or is it the other way around?)
Some observers who have heard Norquist opine on the joy that Islamic diversity brings to America—Muslims in the military (like the jihadist Major Hasan?) and in Congress and that it isn’t “conservatism” to worry about shariah law and devout Muslim-generated terrorism—think they heard Grover in Ryan’s speech.
If you are a new reader and have never heard of Grover Norquist, you have some catching up to do.
He is the President of Americans for Tax Reform, a longtime Washington, DC fixer, and as an Islamist has been a promoter of American Muslim ‘rights’ since before 9/11. He is also a big fan of Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House.
Norquist: Shariah law is compatible with the US Constitution!
Be sure to read a post of mine from 2011 at Potomac Tea Party Report about Norquist’s comment to Think Progress—‘Shariah law is compatible with the US Constitution’ here.
And, don’t miss this! Norquist was in the wings advising Senator Marco Rubio on the Gang of Eight bill (another of Norquist’s pet projects as a long-time advocate for amnesty and open borders). See Grover has a new gig!
Are Norquist and Ryan working to put Rubio in the White House—that is my guess.
They will be able to control (boy) Rubio, but not Trump.
See the Washington Post gushing over Ryan’s words against Trump (Ryan also gave a shout-out to Muslim Members of Congress Keith Ellison and Andre Carson) and completely (on purpose!) misses the point of Trump’s ban which is within the power granted by the US Constitution—we have every right to determine which non-citizens we permit in the country!
(See Ryan’s dump on Trump at that Washington Post link.)
Go here to our extensive archive on Grover Norquist. Norquist was a Bushy, but I suspect he sees that Jeb is dead (politically). And, remember this—ten big name Republicans (including Jeb) signed on to a 2014 letter (most likely drafted by Norquist) asking that Republicans support MORE refugee resettlement (click here). We first learned of Norquist’s involvement in the Hijra here in 2007 when he was promoting the resettlement of mostly Muslim Iraqis to the US.
Action Alert! Trump is right! Ryan is wrong! Click here and call your House members today!
Update! Watch this Trump supporter—people are p***** . He is talking about Ryan, Rubio, Norquist and the Washington elite.
Omnibus spending bill is the most important target to rein-in refugee program!
It is also the hardest to accomplish, but this—the power of the purse—is the real Constitutional power that Congress has (if they would learn to use it).
There is much you can do this week and you must get involved because the NO borders pushers in the resettlement industry are reeling right now (scroll back through posts over the last few days).
To save me time since it has been so carefully presented by fellow blogger Richard Falknor at Blue Ridge Forum, click here, and read about Texas Rep. Brian Babin’s efforts in the House to attach a spending curb on the so-called “Omnibus” budget bill that must be voted on before December 11th (or the government shuts down).
The effort must start in the House, but we expect Senator Jeff Sessions and others to be involved in the Senate.
Go here to learn more and to see the 73 brave Members of Congress who have already signed on!
If you can only do one thing this week, this is it! Pound your Member of Congress!
If yours is not among the 73, please let them know how important this issue is to you (the refugee industry is pulling out all the stops to make sure they stay in business.)
