International Rescue Committee expanding, Richmond added to sites in Virginia

IRC logo
Warning! If you go to the IRC’s webpage you will notice that you are being followed henceforth with a ‘cookie’ with this logo and a plea for money.

This is just a quick mention, way too much happening today!
We have been telling you about how the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program is rapidly expanding to new sites—Rutland, VT, Missoula, MT, Reno, NV, Ithaca, NY and so on.  These new offices are to accommodate the ever-expanding program because Obama has said we will take 85,000 refugees this year, by September 30th and 100,000 in FY2017.
Here the IRC toots its horn about its new office in Richmond, Virginia.

If you are a new reader, you probably don’t know that the IRC is being investigated for fraud in Turkey where it works to ‘help’ Syrian refugees.

If you have never seen the list of resettlement sites in the US, click here to learn if your city is on the list. The newest ones are not listed yet.
You will see that there are already a couple of contractors working in Richmond, why do they need more?
It is not too late to weigh in and send (polite and professional) testimony to the US State Department today, here.

Virginia Congressman backed by 9 Jewish organizations wants to block Trump Muslim ban idea

From Daily Sabah:

Rep. Don Beyer represents the Virginia district just across the river from Washington, DC and has a large number of Muslim constituents.  Photo and more on the story here: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/democrats-introduce-bill-oppose-trumps-proposed-immigration-ban/story?id=39044688

Nine Jewish organizations have joined a call supporting a bill that would prevent banning entry to the United States on the basis of religion, a step taken after GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump proposed ban on Muslims entering the U.S.

“Concerns about national security are mixing with unchecked anti-Muslim bigotry and fomenting unjust fear and scrutiny of Muslim refugees and immigrants,” said the statement released Tuesday, a day before Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., is due to unveil the legislation.

The groups expressed their support for a bill announced by Virginia congressman Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) Wednesday that would make it illegal for the US to block an immigrant based on his or her religion.

The statement backing Beyer’s bill was organized by Interfaith Alliance, a group directed by Rabbi Jack Moline and include umbrella bodies for the Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist movements, as well as the Anti-Defamation League, the National Council of Jewish Women, J Street, Habonim Dror, Bend the Arc Jewish Action and T’ruah: The Rabbinic Call for Human Rights, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency reported.

Beyer, a Democrat of course, is a first term Congressman.
Once the Hijra is advanced, and the Muslim population reaches a certain level in the US, guess which religion will be persecuted first?

Obama Administration tried to assure nervous governors that Syrian refugees would be screened

Very interesting.  While we were all distracted by the funeral for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on Saturday the White House was meeting with members of the National Governors Association (winter meeting) to assure them that it was perfectly safe for them to ‘welcome’ Syrian refugees to their states.
As far as I can tell, this Washington Times story is the only report on this intriguing bit of news.

Obama administration officials tried to reassure dozens of wary governors in a closed-door meeting that President Obama’s proposal to relocate Middle Eastern refugees in their states is safe, two governors said Monday.

Utah-Governor-Gary-Herbert
Utah Governor Gary Herbert was apparently not satisfied by Administration answers.

The briefing by senior administration officials last weekend was an effort to “find solutions to some misunderstandings and apprehensions that are out there,” said Gov. Gary Herbert, Utah Republican and chairman of the National Governors Association.

Asked whether the meeting eased states’ concerns about accepting refugees from crisis areas such as Syria and Iraq, Mr. Herbert replied, “We still have work to do.”

After Mr. Obama announced his plan last fall to admit up to 10,000 refugees into the U.S. this year, governors of 30 states from Maine to Wyoming publicly asked for the resettlement of Syrian refugees to stop until security concerns and procedures could be addressed. New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan was the lone Democrat in the group.

The resistance to refugees intensified after Islamist terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, California, which raised fears of Islamic State fighters sneaking into the U.S. as refugees.

Governor McAuliffe declared himself “confused by the process.”

Terry McAuliffe is confused!  He is not alone! The UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program suffers every day from confusion as a result of the secrecy it has operated under for 35 years.

Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, conceded that some states “are confused about the process to go through.”

“A lot of issues were raised. We’re continuing to have the dialogue, and [Obama administration officials] promised they would get back to us with additional information as we go forward,” Mr. McAuliffe said.

Good luck getting more information.
Hmmm?  I wonder if Tennessee Gov. Haslam was at the meeting?
Was your governor there?  You should try to find out!
So far Syrian (mostly Sunni Muslims) are only trickling in, see here.

Virginia: Immigration turning another red state blue

There is an informative article at Breitbart, thanks to Julia (LOL! not the same Julia as the author of this article) for sending it, that pretty much confirms what I have been hearing anecdotally about Virginia.

Eric Cantor
Former Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor, who wanted more immigrant labor for Virginia and the country, was ousted from office largely because of his opponent’s bravery in deflecting arrows within his own party and taking on the immigration issue. Hint to Donald Trump!

I have no time this morning to go into it in any great detail, but here is how Breitbart writer, Julia Hahn begins:

The birthplace and final resting place of George Washington, James Madison, Thomas Jefferson—and once one of the most reliably-red of red states—is being rapidly turned into a progressive stronghold.

These changes are not the result of an inside agency, or a natural evolution in political thinking, but rather the result of one of the most impactful yet least-discussed policies of the federal government.

Each year the federal government prints millions of visas and distributes these admission tickets to the poorest and least-developed nations in the world.

[….]

A census study entitled “Immigrants in Virginia,” released by University of Virginia (UVA) researchers, documented the phenomenon: “Until 1970, only 1 in 100 Virginians was born outside of the United States; by 2012, 1 in every 9 Virginians is foreign-born.”

Republicans helping to make it happen!

While the influence of conservative voters in the Commonwealth continues to diminish, it is ironically Republican officials in Virginia who have led the push to resettle even larger numbers of immigrants inside the state. Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, for instance, in the months before his titanic fall from power, engineered the effort to provide more labor to Virginia employers through foreign worker visas.

Former-executive director of the Virginia Republican Party, Shaun Kenney, described conservatives who wanted to trim the ongoing resettlement efforts as “nativists” who “have no home in the modern Republican Party,” thundering, “drive ‘em out.” Ironically, Kenney’s immigration policies are having that exact effect.

There is much more, continue reading here.
Take heart, ‘Pockets of resistance’ are forming in Virginia, more on that later.

Roanoke, Virginia: Former Bosnian Muslim prison guard extradited to Bosnia, committed war crimes…

…..and surprise! surprise! lied on his application for refugee status.

Nezirovic-mug-for-web-jpg
Poster boy for the refugee next door! For every Albert Einstein the refugee industry highlights, I’ll show you a Nezirovic!

The US State Department is quick to say that refugees are thoroughly screened before arriving in the US, don’t believe them.   The case of Almaz Nezirovic is not the first case of refugee fraud we have reported over the years.
From WDBJ-7 (hat tip: Robin):

ROANOKE, Va. –

A former Bosnian prison guard who lived in Roanoke and is accused of war crimes against Serbian prisoners has been sent back to Bosnia.

Almaz Nezirovic, 54, was extradited back to Bosnia on Wednesday.

He is accused of committing war crimes against civilians between April and July 1992 during the Bosnian War.

Bosnian officials believe that Nezirovic beat unarmed civilian prisoners.

“This included allegedly stripping victims naked, beating them severely with a club, and forcing them to eat grass on which others had urinated,” according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Western District of Virginia.

After the war in the former Yugoslavia ended in 1995, Nezirovic sought refugee status in the United States, where he later applied for a green card and to become a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Nezirovic was originally arrested in June 2011 and charged with two counts of naturalization fraud. Those charges stemmed from false statements about his wartime activities and other conduct during his citizenship application.

Continue reading here.  There is more, plus the US Attorney’s news release is printed in full.
We first posted on this case in 2011, here, so imagine what this investigation, incarceration and trial has cost the US taxpayer!  I think there should be a law that when refugees go through the criminal justice system, the US State Department budget should pay the costs.  I know that is still taxpayer money, but maybe it would help alert everyone to the fact that the State Department really doesn’t know who the hell they are sending to unsuspecting towns.

Roanoke

Roanoke, VA has had its share of charming refugees.  Remember the 2009 case of 4 African refugees plotting to kidnap local rich women!
We also had a 2008 story about tensions building between the local African American community and their new African brethren being resettled there.
So who is doing the resettling in Roanoke?  For new readers who want to check out who is responsible for colonizing your towns and cities, go to this handy list and have a look.
By the way, it was Bill Clinton who brought in the over 100,000 mostly Muslim Bosnians to America!
It seems that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops/Catholic Charities is responsible for changing Roanoke.  Don’t ask me why they have two offices there largely paid for by you!
