Killers came in as 'unaccompanied alien children'

Killers, gangbangers and other assorted criminals came across the US Southern border in recent years and are beginning to ‘show’ themselves such as in this dreadful case reported by Leo Hohmann writing at World Net Daily:

Two Central American teens charged in the recent execution-style killing of a Massachusetts man came to the U.S. as unaccompanied alien children or UACs under President Obama’s “open-border free-for-all,” according to a Judicial Watch report.

unaccompanied alien children
This is a 2014 photo of some of the apprehended “children.” Obama and the religious refugee contractors want them to be legitimate asylum seekers. Lawyers ready and willing to make them Americans! http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2014/06/16/pro-bono-lawyers-most-unaccompanied-border-children-eligible-for-amnesty/

The two 17-year-old boys also have ties to the notorious MS-13 gang, according to the Boston Herald.

Upward of 130,000 women and children from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras have poured across the U.S.-Mexico border since the summer of 2014 and the administration has distributed them into communities nationwide with the help of the Catholic, Lutheran, Baptist and various evangelical churches.

WND reported Wednesday that a new study by a Catholic organization found that nearly 80 percent of those coming from Honduras were not fleeing violence but merely seeking economic opportunities.

Lawmakers want answers from the Office of Refugee Resettlement (the lead agency responsible for the whereabouts and the care of the “children” most of whom are teenage boys!)

This week two federal lawmakers – a senator and a congressman – sent a letter to the administration demanding answers on exactly how and when the teens entered the U.S. The lawmakers, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., chair of the House Judiciary Committee, also want to know if the administration had knowledge about the suspects’ gang connections.

“Please provide a complete copy of the alien file for Jose Vasquez Ardon and Cristian Nunez-Flores,” the lawmakers state in a letter to the Department of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services, the agency that’s mostly handled the barrage of UACs and the relocation process.

There is much more, continue reading here.
We have an extensive archive on so-called ‘unaccompanied alien children’ here.  Thousands of these teenage boys have been secretively distributed throughout the US.  Many more are on the way in 2016!
Be sure to see this post about the squabbling resettlement agencies trying to get their cut of the federal boodle for the “children.”

Pittsburgh: Jewish agency and Islamic Center working together to bring more Syrians to the city

Islamic Center
Islamic Center of Pittsburgh

We’ve told you previously that apparently the city of Pittsburgh has run out of American poor people and is looking to import more poverty from the Middle East, Africa and Asia so at least their poverty would be diverse.
The mayor, Bill Peduto, wrote to Obama in September looking especially for thousands of Syrians.
I’ll bet African American voters helped put this guy in office and they don’t get it that he is now bringing in competition for low income housing and jobs for low-skill workers. (The city is 26% African American, here)
This is the latest from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (housing and jobs are in short supply, no kidding?):

While the city of Pittsburgh might be welcoming more refugees from war-torn Syria, it is local agencies such as Jewish Family & Children’s Service and the Islamic Center of Pittsburgh that are working to make their lives here possible.

The challenges, Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto said, are housing and jobs.

Leslie Aizeman 2
Leslie Aizenman of the local Jewish resettlement office explains how her organization uses your tax dollars to find housing and jobs for refugees.

“It’s not the city government that does this work,” Mr. Peduto said at “A Syrian Summit” Thursday night at East Liberty Presbyterian Church. “It’s the agencies … they look at those two critical factors.”

[….]

Dozens of people attended the meeting, sponsored by the Southwest PA division of the National Association of Social Workers, to ask Mr. Peduto and other speakers what Pittsburgh is doing for Syrian refugees and to advocate for them to live here. Four families already do.

[….]

The city will be able to take 500 refugees — not just Syrians — this year, he said.

Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Pittsburgh is a sub-contractor of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, here. Don’t forget, HIAS is the organization that wrote a report in 2013 which urged the Southern Poverty Law Center to investigate (and label as racists, bigots and xenophobes) anyone who had problems with the social and economic upheaval from refugee resettlement in their communities.
Pennsylvania is in the top FIVE states ‘welcoming’ mostly Muslim Syrians, see here.

Angry Turkish Prez: We will open our gates and let them go through to Europe

Invasion of Europe news…..

Europe get ready! Tens (hundreds!) of thousands more migrants could soon be on the way.

Erdogan is angry:

“….the time could come when the country would open the gates for refugees to travel to Europe.”

But, I’m wondering when exactly he ever closed his border to Europe?  See this interactive map which shows just how many are going every day from Turkey to Greece.  The screen shot is for Tuesday of this week.  3,676 crossed in one day!  See the map and scroll back each recent day and prepare to be shocked.  And, while you are at it, note how many passed into Germany from Austria just in one day (Feb. 9)—3,314! in ONE day!

The Telegraph:

Turkey is at breaking point and the time could come when the country would open the gates for refugees to travel to Europe, the Turkish president has threatened.

Erdogan, Merkel and Obama. Faux outrage? Maybe this all part of the Muslim Brotherhood’s plan? http://newsl.org/2015/11/obama-and-erdogan-the-secret-muslim-brotherhood-alliance/

Recep Tayyip Erdogan attacked the calls for Turkey to accept more refugees and accused the UN of insincerity over inaction in Syria.

In recent days, the UN, EU and other organisations have called on Turkey to take in thousands of Syrian refugees fleeing Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and Russian air strikes on its southern border.

“In the past we have stopped people at the gates to Europe, in Edirne we stopped their buses. This happens once or twice, and then we’ll open the gates and wish them a safe journey, that’s what I said,” Mr Erdogan said in a speech to a business forum on Thursday.

“There is a chance the new wave of refugees will reach 600,000 if air strikes continue. We are making preparations for it,” Mr Erdogan said in a speech to a business forum in Ankara.

Erdogan is also (supposedly) angry at his ol’ pal Barack Hussein Obama (US responsible for sea of blood), here.

Greenwich, CT not getting refugees anytime soon (so they think!)

Yesterday we told you about the Sanders ‘plant’ in a Trump townhall meeting in New Hampshire.  See that story first so you know what we are talking about here.

Screenshot (23)
Darren Ornitz a bearded Sanders supporter and former resident of Greenwich, CT implies Greenwich could get Syrian refugees.

The ‘plant’ Darren Ornitz implied that Greenwich, CT (where he ostensibly grew up) would soon see Syrian refugees resettled there. Since Greenwich is an upscale town, I’m figuring that is unlikely despite the fact that Connecticut elected officials are all for “welcoming” large numbers of Africans, Asians and Middle Easterners to the state (see Senator Richard Blumenthal here with CAIR CT).
Apparently alarmed by what Ornitz said, the Greenwich Time was quick to make sure the citizens there were safe for the time being.

Greenwich officials said Tuesday that they were not aware of any plans to settle Syrian refugees in town, a day after a Greenwich man pressed Donald Trump on his controversial immigration policy.

The unnamed man, who identified himself as being from Greenwich, asked Trump at a campaign event Monday in Salem, N.H., whether the Republican presidential candidate’s refugee policy would bar Syrian children from the country.

[….]

Trump’s stance is contentious, with many of his opponents disputing his characterization of Syrian refugees.

But the question that the Greenwich man asked Trump appears to be a moot one – at least for the moment – in Greenwich. Both Town Hall and school district officials said that they were not aware of any plans to relocate Syrian families to the town.

I recommend that the town fathers stay on top of the issue.

blumenthal and CAIR CT
Keep an eye on Senator Blumenthal (here with CAIR CT director) who wants to make security screening easier for Syrian refugees to get into the US!

Although the town’s wealth may be an impediment (rich, politically well-connected, people don’t want refugees in their towns), it is no guarantee it couldn’t happen.
State Department data base
Connecticut has gotten 3,397 refugees since Obama took office.  The largest numbers went to Hartford and New Haven. None went to Greenwich.
I was surprised to see that Connecticut got 479 Somalis.  And, even more surprised to see that 61 Syrians have already been placed in the state (the largest number of those went to New Haven).

Syrian refugees will need lots of mental health treatment in America

…..and you, the US taxpayer, will be paying for it! (or else!)
An estimated 1000-2000 of the coming 10,000 Syrians could need (costly!) mental health treatment!
Here is the AP story at ABC News (emphasis is mine):

For the thousands of Syrian refugees expected to arrive in the U.S. in coming months, the first order of business will be securing the basics — health care, jobs, education and a safe home.

But what organizations helping resettle them might not be prepared for, and what refugees themselves might be in denial about, is the need to treat the mental scars of war, experts said.

[….]

Organizations that work with refugees said it’s too early to assess the full scope of arrivals’ mental health needs. But experts say it’s important to keep tabs on the emotional state of new arrivals, since symptoms may not appear until months or years later — well after most resettlement support services have ended. [It is all on the community then which must come up with the $$$ for all of this care!—ed]

The U.S. has taken about 2,500 Syrian refugees since the conflict there began in 2011, including about 100 in Massachusetts. The Obama administration expects to take in at least 10,000 in the federal fiscal year that began in October. Experts estimate 10 to 20 percent of incoming Syrians will have war-related psychological problems warranting treatment.

mollica
At about two years after arrival reality hits and mental health problems appear according to Dr. Richard Mollica at Harvard. Photo and bio: http://www.williamjames.edu/about/profiles/faculty/richard-mollica.cfm

“They’re in the honeymoon phase,” said Richard Mollica, a psychiatry professor at Harvard Medical School who has spent decades working with torture and genocide victims. “In the first year, they’re so happy to be out of that situation. They feel something wonderful is going to happen in America.

And “wonderful” doesn’t come and that is where I believe the mental health crisis begins!
The streets are not paved with gold, they have to work (find work!) and the mythical city of El Dorado is just that, a myth. Many will want to go home.

“It’s only about two years later or so when there’s a mental health crisis,” he said. “It’s at that point that reality hits and they really need a lot of mental health care.”

And get this!  If you don’t take care of their mental health they could turn into Islamic terrorists!

Failure to address them could lead some refugees to withdraw from society, increasing the chances they’ll be drawn to extremist groups, Arnetz [Michigan professor] warned.

Some good news!  Syrians are only trickling into the US and at the present rate, Obama won’t get to that magic 10,000 by September 30th (the end of the 2016 fiscal year).  See numbers (so far) here.  I’m guessing the security screening is going very slowly.
