White House and anonymous leakers at DOS (and outside DOS) in battle over refugee costs

Can you believe it!  Reuters is reporting on four anonymous leakers (inside and outside the Dept. of State) who are saying chief White House aide Stephen Miller is trying to skew numbers to make the refugee program look more expensive than they claim it is!

Former Asst. Sec. of State Anne Richard is still in DC. Is she getting inside info. from her old pals at PRM? Just wondering!

Most interesting to me is that a former State Department “official” is in on the effort to skewer Miller (and Trump of course!).
Can you say ‘Obama shadow government’!
Editor: Sorry I’m giving you a quicky post here.  I am preparing for something this evening and have no time for more comment and analysis, except to say that getting at the true cost of the overall migration of impoverished third world refugees to middle America is almost impossible because in most states, the welfare offices do not track and separate out the different classes of immigrants using social services, medicare, or sending kids to school.
For federal budget planning, I’m guessing Miller is trying to get at the true cost to admit the refugees in the first place which is where the federal budget costs are initially incurred for decision-making needed by September.

Here is  Reuters on the ‘Deep State’ undermining the White House (again!), getting more cocky by the day aren’t they!
Is Simon Henshaw leaking?

Two studies that President Donald Trump hopes will buttress his case to cut the number of refugees are at the heart of a fight between senior White House adviser Stephen Miller and career U.S. government officials over immigration policy, four current and former officials said.

Trump in March ordered the U.S. State Department and other agencies to tally only the costs of resettling refugees but not the benefits that policy experts said refugees can also bring, including tax revenues, professional skills and job creation. [Virtually impossible, and are we going to tally medicare, schools, housing, SSI and criminal justice system costs for how many years?—ed]

Is Larry Bartlett leaking?

A current official said Miller had convened meetings with State Department staffers to discuss the refugee cost reports. When department specialists proposed including refugees’ economic contributions in the studies to produce a more balanced assessment, Miller rebuffed the idea, one current and one former U.S. official said.

The White House said Miller did not hold meetings on the specific subject of the cost reports and that Trump’s overall fiscal year 2018 budget proposal sought to “make transparent the net budgetary effects of immigration programs and policy.”

The current and former officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they believe, however, that the administration wants to help make a case to restrict refugee flows by creating a skewed analysis.

“It’s a policy outcome in search of a rationale,” said a former U.S. official familiar with the debate.

Endnote: If Henshaw and Bartlett are not the leakers, they better find out who is! They are responsible for whoever is talking to the press!  Like it or not, they work for President Donald Trump!

Refugee contractors whine about not meeting 110,000 "target" for FY17

Broken record alert! (and apologies to all who have been paying attention).
Here is one more whiny report  where the federal refugee resettlement contractors*** bitch to their media lackeys about Donald Trump’s modest slowdown of the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program.  This particular passage in the CBS whinefest caught my attention.

….several refugee resettlement agencies said that at the current pace, they won’t meet their targets for the fiscal year, which runs from October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. They also said it was not clear how the United States will accept 110,000 refugees during this period — a ceiling set by President Obama which remains in place.

Fast facts:
~The 110,000 is not a target. It is not a “goal.” It is a CEILING. Any number under the ceiling  is a legal number to be admitted.
~President Obama set the unusually high CEILING on about September 13th, 2016—8 weeks before election day.
~110,000 is the highest CEILING ever set by Obama, so it is outrageous for the media to portray that number as a standard. See this Refugee Processing Center data:

~Obama did not reach his own CEILINGS in a couple of years (way off in FY 11 and 12). Bush didn’t reach his either.
~If the contractors set “targets” based on 110,000 then that was very poor planning on their part, since most years the CEILING is not met.
~Actually at one point (again see data chart above), the 110,000 CEILING is not shown as still in place as reported by CBS!

If Trump refugee admissions continue at the present rate, he will come in higher than Obama did in two of his years. You would never know that if you hear the contractors whine and their media mouthpieces trumpet their wailing and moaning.

~Even if it is still in place, Donald Trump can legally admit any number under that!
~ Trump did not have to put the CEILING reduction number (50,000) in his Executive Orders.
~The contractors have been agitating for years for the CEILING to be made a target (I sure hope Trump’s lawyers and the Supreme Court understand the distinction and don’t transform it in to a target!).
~As of today, the US Dept. of State has admitted 48,611 refugees this fiscal year.
~The average number of refugees admitted in recent years is in the mid 60,000s.
~At the present rate of  admissions (somewhere around just under 900 a week), Trump’s State Dept. will admit around 62,000 refugees by the end of September. That is higher than 2 of Obama’s years.
~At the rate we were told here in late May (1,500 a week), Trump will admit around 71,000. That number would beat FIVE of Obama’s years.
~The refugee contractors’ budgets are based on a per head payment for the number of refugees brought in.  Fewer refugees=less taxpayer payola for them! Thus they always want more!

*** Here for the umpteenth time are the nine federal contractors that monopolize all refugee resettlement in the US, many are more than 90% funded by taxpayers.  We recently learned that EMM is 99.5% funded by you!

Trump's State Department slaps down Hungarian PM, supports George Soros

In one more example of the US State Department being run by the ‘Deep State,’ we learned on Monday that Sec. of State Tillerson has basically told Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to stand down in his efforts to expose Soros’ subversive influence in that country.

Big smooch from Sec. of State Tillerson to George Soros. Why is USDOS involved in Hungarian internal affairs?

Readers should know that Orban has become a leading champion for some in Europe for speaking forcefully and taking action to close his country’s borders to the invaders*** from the Middle East and Africa.
(Poland and the Czech Republic are doing the same in order to save their culture and economy.)
So, George Soros knows that Orban must be taken down.  (As many of you know Soros (aka György Schwartz ) was born to a Hungarian Jewish family in Budapest.)
Now, using his billions earned as a ruthless investor, he works to open borders worldwide and he hates Donald Trump, so one wonders why Trump’s State Department would even get involved in this Hungarian internal issue? Does  it all  boil down to the globalists’ desire  for open borders that Soros champions?
Frankly, this news is stunning! But, it fits what we already believe—that the ‘Deep State’ is still running the show at the DOS. See here when they pulled a trick on Trump’s White House while Trump was on his world tour last month.
Here is some of the story at the Washington Examiner (emphasis is mine):

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s spokesperson urged Hungarian leaders to scrap legislation mandating that Hungarian nonprofits supported by foreign contributors identify their donors. The bill is the latest development in nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s ongoing campaign against Soros, but his domestic and international critics regard it also as a step toward Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Hungary joined NATO in 1999, when Orban was in the midst of a four-year run as prime minister. Since returning to the post in 2010 the midst of an economic crisis that required an international bailout, Orban has had a fraught relationship with the European Union. The 2015 refugee crisis created additional strain, and human rights groups criticized his efforts to constrict the flow of asylum-seekers into Hungary.

President Trump should be inviting Viktor Orban to the White House for a state dinner, not using his DOS to slap him down in his battle with George Soros!

Orban responded by attacking Soros, a campaign that hasn’t ended. “There is an important element in public life in Hungary which is not transparent and not open — and that is the Soros network, with its mafia-style operation and its agentlike organizations,” he said in June.

[….]

The Hungarian leader’s skepticism of the EU and “globalist” refugee policies, perhaps aided by Soros’ status as a prominent progressive donor, has endeared him to some American conservatives who see a likeness to Trump.

[….]

Hungary also passed legislation designed to shutter Central European University, one of the most prominent institutions in the country, due to funding from Soros. But, though Orban has praised Trump, the new president’s administration opposed that bill and continued to criticize his hostility to the nonprofits.

We already know that Soros has given millions to one US refugee contractor. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2017/02/26/hungarian-prime-minister-calls-out-george-soros-in-state-of-the-nation-speech/

“Hostility” toward nonprofits!  Is it hostile to demand to know who is funding the non-profits?

I want to know how much funding George Soros is giving to US refugee contractors and other Open borders agitation groups!

And, Hungarians have a right to know how Soros, an American, is secretly influencing their politics.
Come on Congress! How about a transparency law here in the US—call it the George Soros Transparency Act of 2017.
Afterthought!  While they are at it let’s have transparency about which Republicans in Congress are taking payola from Soros!
