More arrests coming in the Minneapolis Somali “youths” case

This is the latest from Minneapolis on the Somali missing youths (former refugees) case we have been following since last November.   Fear is mounting that more arrests are right around the corner.  Three Somalis who actually travelled to Somalia to join terrorist group Al Shabaab returned to the US and have been arrested, and according to published reports, are talking.   Of course the big question everyone is waiting to see answered is, who recruited them and who paid their way?

From the Minneapolis Star Tribune yesterday:

Tension is growing within the Minneapolis Somali community as it awaits the next indictments in the federal probe of the disappearances of young men who became fighters in their homeland’s ongoing warfare.

So far, three Somali men have pleaded guilty to terrorism-related charges. Now several others — who either know the men or were considering returning to their homeland to fight for a terrorist group — are waiting to learn whether they, too, have been targeted by federal investigators.

Stephen L. Smith, a Minneapolis attorney who has counseled up to 20 local Somalis questioned by federal agents over the past 10 months, said recently that a number of people have contacted him and expressed “a heightened sense of concern” that they may be in legal jeopardy.

Guess they didn’t know this (or didn’t care):

Under federal law, it’s illegal for a U.S. citizen to fight in a foreign conflict. It is also illegal for Americans to support, in any way, a terrorist group.

Five of the “missing” have turned up dead in Somalia and family members believe some may have been killed on purpose by Al Shabaab when their usefulness ended.

American Al Shabaab, Al-Amriki, is from Alabama!

We told you about Abu Mansour al-Amriki  in April here and here where he mocks Obama’s charisma.   He is the white American who has become a leader of the Jihadist group Al Shabaab in Somalia.   Fox News is reporting today that he is Omar Hammami from Daphne, Alabama.  There is speculation that he has been helping recruit Somali former refugees to join him in Africa.

A week after the 9/11 attacks, a young Muslim at South Alabama University told the school’s newspaper it was “difficult to believe a Muslim could have done this.”

Now, eight years later, he is professing to launch attacks himself and calling on others to join the fight, as terror-related charges await him at home in Alabama, FOX News has learned exclusively.

Abu Mansour al-Amriki — or “The American” — has become one of the most recognizable and outspoken voices of terrorist propaganda.

He has been in war-torn Somalia for several years, fighting the secular government there with a group known as al-Shabaab, which has ties to Al Qaeda and was labeled a terrorist organization by the U.S. government last year. Only recently has he taken on a starring — and jarring — role in al-Shabaab’s outreach efforts.

He was born Omar Hammami in May 1984, and he grew up outside Mobile, Ala., in the city of Daphne.

Moral of this story: Let Africa take care of Africa

Right up front, let me say, I have  no intention of getting deeper into the Rwanda issue I brought to your attention earlier this month.  In that story from Buffalo, NY, a former refugee is accused by the Rwandan government of being a participant in the Rwandan genocide that occurred during the Clinton Administration in the 1990’s.

I don’t want to know which side is right.  Here is a very long foot-noted article that claims that Rwanda is sending phoney asylum seekers to the UK and US to hunt down those opposing the present government of Rwanda.

An investigation has uncovered an asylum system scandal where bogus Rwandan “refugees” infiltrate the U.S. and U.K. and work as undercover agents to hunt down critics of the Rwandan dictatorship and legitimate refugees and drag them back to Rwanda. This is yet the latest revelation on how the dictatorship in Rwˇˇanda manufactures and exports terrorism using an ideology of genocide and how the West supports terrorism by backing its Rwanda proxy. Meanwhile, business in Rwanda is booming and the criminal networks of the Kagame military machine continue to plunder the blood-drenched Congo.

That sort of sounds like what is happening with the Buffalo Rwandan former refugee.  Keep in mind we also noted that this silly outfit, Refugees United, exists to help track down missing refugees.  Can’t refugees find family members through safer existing channels within government, NGO’s and the UNHCR?

The article in Free Uganda, a publication of a self-proclaimed group of “Revolutionaries,” goes on to say:

There are many charities and non-government organizations from the U.S. and U.K. that run large money-making operations that claim to benefit Rwanda. These charities complete the circle of propaganda and seal the doubt of public opinion by legitimizing a terrorist government under the unimpeachable veneer of humanitarianism and goodwill.

These charities work the media system, providing expert spokespeople and framing issues for the mass media. The media system works the charities, using them to institutionalize ideology and further their select political agendas. Like the media, the charities peddle the establishment line throughout, meanwhile claiming that they are “not political.” But it is always the same: like Praxis, they unflinchingly adhere to the upside-down mythology which turns victims into killers and killers into victims with very little middle ground in between.

I guess these revolutionaries have no faith in non-profits either!

Again, I am not posting this to pick sides.  I have no clue what is really happening in Rwanda, or DR Congo, or Uganda, or Somalia or Kenya for that matter, and neither do you!

We have already determined that immigration fraud is widespread among refugees from Africa—heck the US State Department’s P-3 family reunification program is still closed as far as I know.   That was because of immigration fraud primarily among Somalis and Liberians.  This article tells us there is additional fraud among Rwandan refugees and asylees.

The moral of this story!  We don’t need to worry about which side is the right side, as I said in my title, let Africa take care of Africa.  Let us take care of America.

Keeping up with the latest refugee racket: climate change refugees

This article today on Drudge reminded me that I had meant to tell you about Refugees International’s new super-dooper Center for the Study of Climate Displacement.   This is going to be the hottest new craze in the world refugee “crisis.”  Nevermind that man has been moving due to changes in the climate throughout human history.  Just ask those Neanderthals what they thought of that pesky Ice Age.

Here is how the Reuters article begins:

ADDIS ABABA, Aug 24 (Reuters) – African leaders will ask rich nations for $67 billion per year to mitigate the impact of global warming on the world’s poorest continent, according to a draft resolution seen by Reuters on Monday.

Ten leaders are holding talks at African Union (AU) headquarters in the Ethiopian capital to try to agree a common stance ahead of a U.N. summit on climate change in Copenhagen in December.

Experts say Africa contributes little to the pollution blamed for warming, but is likely to be hit hardest by the droughts, floods, heatwaves and rising sea levels forecast if climate change is not checked.

The draft resolution, which must still be approved by the 10 leaders, called for rich countries to pay $67 billion annually to counter the impact of global warming in Africa.

Instead of questioning this extortion project, we have groups like Refugees International playing right into it.   Mark my words, the West is going to “owe” the world either big bucks or open borders (or both!) because of  bogus global warming created, they claim,  by greedy white people.  Refugees International wants in on the bash-the-West racket and to raise funds from the “crisis.”

This is the opening paragraph of their press release published just before President Ken Bacon died recently.

Washington, DC — Refugees International announced plans to establish the Ken and Darcy Bacon Center for the Study of Climate Displacement today. The Center will use Refugees International’s successful advocacy model to work towards stronger policies and structures that meet the needs of the tens of millions of people expected to be displaced by climate change in the coming decades.

You gotta hand it to them.  They have now figured out how to capitalize on two of the left’s money-raising schemes—refugees and climate change.   And, they have managed with this project to wrap into one neat package two major areas that International Leftists are aiming for—open borders and the redistribution of wealth.

More of Malta’s illegal aliens on the way to the US

This arrangement a former US Ambassador made with the island nation of Malta to take  aliens who arrive in this EU country illegally and send them off as refugees to the US sets a dangerous precedent.   Legitimate refugees (not economic migrants) are to ask for asylum in the first country they reach. 

What makes Malta any different then say Greece, or Italy, or France for that matter?  Will we soon be helping out other European countries suffering under the same burden?   And, as I have asked before, will these countries reciprocate and take some of our illegal Mexicans or El Savadorans—it is the same thing!

Since the US Embassy began its ongoing refugee resettlement programme in May, 303 refugees have been resettled in the US. These latest refugees are from Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia.

Chargé d’Affaires Jason Davis noted that the refugee resettlement programme reflected America’s continuing commitment to help ease the burden that migration placed on Malta, as well as its recognition of the enormous challenges and dangers that many of the migrants faced.

“The programme’s success is a tribute to continued hard work on the part of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the International Organisation for Migration, and the United States government, as well as many others here in Malta who have dedicated themselves to improving the lives of refugees in need of humanitarian assistance,” Mr Davis said.

He said all refugees were assigned a sponsor agency in the US that provided initial services such as housing, food, and clothing, as well as referral to medical care, employment services, and other support services during the transition period to self-sufficiency. These services are provided in order to facilitate refugees with the process of integration and cultural assimilation.

Just a little reminder, we are in a recession and most refugees arriving here are not becoming self-sufficient any time soon.
