Testing! So, what do you think about our new look?

As I just said in my earlier post this morning, I’m fooling around with RRW with the primary goal of making it more easily read.  I’ve had complaints about the tiny print which comes with my previously free wordpress blog.  This is the largest print that seems to be available.
Previously, I wasn’t able to post videos either, so this is a test!   Here is my first youtube video with over 600,000 hits so far!

Now if only I had someone to answer all of your mail!
P.S. The “Pockets of Resistance” are growing.  If you would like to be linked with like-minded activists concerned about refugee resettlement and other legal and illegal immigration that threatens our security, please send your contact information to the Center for Security Policy, see here.

Happy 4th of July! And, RRW review for the month of June 2015

I was away most of last week and so our usual weekly round-up just didn’t happen.  Instead I thought I would let you know how we did in June especially as the month marked our 8th year posting on problems with refugee resettlement here and around the world.

Readership is booming!

Celebrate America and enjoy the day with family and friends!

Although June wasn’t our biggest month ever (May was), one thing worth noting is that as of the end of June (6 months into the year) we had more readers so far in 2015 than in the whole of 2014.
Before I get to the Top Three Posts of the month, please note that we are making changes.  I had hoped to have a whole new blog by now, but worry that the change, after years of readers seeing a certain look, would be too disruptive, so I’m going to try to simply (slightly) improve the look of RRW.
I’ve had complaints that the font size is way too small, so will upgrade the site necessary to get a larger type-size.
I think after I upgrade, wordpress will not place random ads on my pages which at present I don’t control.  RRW continues to be a charitable enterprise by its writers.
Also, note that I took away some unnecessary side bar widgets (surely you won’t miss the tag clouds!) and added our twitter feed and facebook page.  I still need to clean up our blog roll and our recommended reading list is years old.  (LOL! I have not patience or aptitude for the nuts and bolts of blogging, just want to get the news out!)
Since I get way too many news stories than I can post, please consider following me on twitter because I’ll try to put more news there.  And, maybe you’ve noticed already that on facebook we have stories that weren’t posted at RRW.
We have over 4,000 likes on facebook thanks to help from volunteer Kelly.

Top Three Posts for the month of June:

(by the way, Top Daily Posts are in the right hand side bar)

1. The number one resettlement state in America is Texas (primer part I)

2. Dead Somali ISIS fighter had ties to Lewiston, Maine

3. Idaho: Get ready for Somali refugees as county approves huge meatpacking plant near Boise

Top Ten Countries from which we received readers in June 2015:

UK

Germany (surprised to see Germany push Australia out of the top three)

Canada

Australia

France

Austria

European Union (this is a relatively new listing and I don’t know why the EU is listed when individual European countries are as well)

South Africa

New Zealand

India

For the instruction to new readers that I normally post at the end of a round-up, click here and read our last regular weekly round-up.

The most important thing I tell new readers is to use our ‘search’ function (top left hand side bar) and put in a few key words (ie. your city or state) to help you find information among our 6,000+ posts!

RRW Weekly Roundup for week ending June 20, 2015

I should have done this over the weekend, but simply no time.

Idaho controversy was the star of the week!

And, I definitely didn’t want to miss this one because the controversy we have been reporting on from Twin Falls, Idaho has brought new readers in by the droves!  Much to my surprise, the readers most interested in the Idaho refugee controversy were from Germany!
If you missed it, one interesting turn of events from Twin Falls is that a lawyer for the local newspaper told me I must remove the text I had snipped (here and here).  You know this can’t be for commercial and economic reasons because I bet we sent them a boatload of readers (to see their advertisements).
In case you hadn’t noticed, we don’t make a dime from our work of writing and reporting on refugee controversies here and around the world, so they can hardly say they were economically hurt. Copyright law does allow some use of others’ work for the purpose of commentary, and that is what bloggers do!
CLEARLY we hit a nerve!  Clearly, the newspaper in Twin Falls is biased in favor of changing Idaho by adding diversity, why?  Wouldn’t you think a newspaper would be happy with controversy and public discussion, doesn’t that sell papers?  Maybe they want to silence regular American citizens like me!

Or, could there be some other reason they have an interest in tamping down the controversy about more refugees coming to “Magic Valley” Idaho?  Who is the paper really working for?  We will be trying to find out!

Don’t miss my latest on Idaho here (what citizens need to do!)  and here (meatpacker coming to Boise explains need for cheap, captive! immigrant labor).  Follow the money!

Top Posts!

So, without further ado here are our Top Three posts from last week (Top daily posts are in the right hand side bar).  The Idaho news was the top story by a mile!

1.  Idaho: more controversy surrounding refugee resettlement in Magic Valley

2.  Sudanese refugee shot and killed in Louisville; why are we colonizing America with people like this?

3.  Did your city welcome Syrians in the first 6 months of 2015?

Top Countries!

Here are our Top Ten countries from which readers arrived at RRW last week.  Surprise! for the first time ever, Germany beats out Canada, Australia and the UK for the number one spot!

Germany

UK

Canada

Australia

Austria

Switzerland

Netherlands

France

New Zealand

Norway

For new readers!

Since we get new readers every day, here is my usual spiel with two points I need to continue to make:
First, we do screen our comments (sometimes I don’t get to them right away!) and I don’t post any that threaten any kind of violence or ones filled with foul language.  An occasional expletive might slip in if the comment is otherwise a good one.  You are always free to disagree with our point of view if you follow those two simple rules.

And the other thing I want to mention is about e-mails that come to you every time we post.  They come directly from wordpress to subscribers.  We don’t send out e-mails.  So, if we are posting too much for your e-mail inbox, then just unsubscribe and visit RRW when you have the time I understand completely about too many e-mails!  You might want to simply follow us on twitter or on facebook (below).
This is where you can find information (in addition to our fact sheet). We have over 6,500 posts.

*  See our categories (left hand sidebar)
*  See the tag clouds (right hand sidebar)
*  Also, we have a great search function and since neither the categories nor the tags go all the way back to our first posts more than seven years ago, use the search window with a few key words.  You might want to first try your city, state, or country to see what we have reported from there over the years.
Readers from Europe should search for key words ‘Invasion of Europe’ for all of our many posts on the migration crisis on the Continent.
By the way, our category entitled ‘where to find information’ is filled with reports and documents, but with 354 posts archived there, it is pretty unwieldy now.
Past weekly roundups can be found in our category entitled ‘blogging.’
If you wish to be notified when we post, consider subscribing or follow us on twitter (@refugeewatcher) or facebook (RefugeeInfoResource).  ‘Like us’ on facebook! (We are no longer posting every story we write at RRW to facebook so as not to overload your facebook feed either.)  We also have some content on facebook that isn’t posted here first, so like us and follow us (I do have a volunteer helper at facebook—Kelly Monroe Kullberg).
And apologies to all who e-mail and comment, sorry if I don’t respond much, there are just not enough hours in my day!
Thanks to all of you for following RRW.  The subject is on fire (maybe you have noticed)!
P.S.  I have added two photos of myself to our About page, if you need one for any reason.

Weekly RRW roundup for week ending June 6th, 2015

Yes!  This month we celebrate our 8th anniversary!
Refugee Resettlement Watch was created at the end of June 2007 and we had 7 visitors that month and (LOL!) that was us figuring out how to post. The following month, July 2007, we published 47 posts and had an average of 37 readers a day.  We have now posted 6,628 posts and in late May we had our biggest day ever with over 15,000 visitors helping to make May 2015 our top month ever!
I know we aren’t like some of the really big blogs, but considering our narrow focus, we think that is great!

Harangue of the week! (of the year!).  Use your free speech while you have it!

Everywhere I go, people ask what can they do and I say the number one thing you must do is do your research, get your facts and WRITE  a blog or website so the good information you are finding gets out to people in your state—people you have never met, people not in your circle!  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we had 50 or 100 blogs focused on how immigration of all kinds is destroying America!
It might be overused, but it is true!   Information is power!  It does no good to unearth documents and reports and news generally on immigration issues where you live if the information never goes beyond your little group and is eventually lost!
And, don’t worry about how well-done your investigative blog is, RRW is amateurish-looking and pretty messy now (my techie son tells me so!), but it still gets the job done!
And, would someone please write an investigative blog on Food Stamp Fraud at immigrant-run stores!  You would have a winner right out of the chute!

After you begin doing your research and getting the facts out far and wide, we need to talk about ‘community organizing’ — that will be my harangue for next week!
One more thing!  If you didn’t see our first Youtube video (here), it is now at almost 600,000 views and we have a new one on Syrian refugees (here), please help get it outside of our circle!

Here are the Top Three Posts of the Week (top daily posts are in the right hand sidebar):

1)  Minnesota Somalis: we would rather be in Somalia

2)  Alabama: Massive food stamp fraud bust; some of your money went to Yemen

3)  Stick’in it to Rep. Trey Gowdy, US State Department contractor World Relief brings first refugees to Spartanburg

Here are the Top Ten Countries in descending order from which visitors arrived this week (excluding the US):

UK

Canada

Australia

Sweden

Germany

Netherlands

Norway

India

Malaysia

South Africa

RRW Weekly roundup for week ending May 30, 2015

It’s been a banner week for Refugee Resettlement Watch, but a lousy week for me to get many stories posted and for that I apologize.
The subject is exploding across the country and it keeps me hopping (so very sorry I can’t always answer all in the boatloads of e-mail I receive) fielding phone calls, and requests to speak (either in person or on radio shows).
I’m keeping a log of radio shows in hopes of one day reporting that I’ve been on a show in every state!
Grassroots activists across the country are also mobilizing and getting media attention.
Another highlight this week:  The little 4 minute Youtube clip I did with SecureFreedom.org passed the half million mark. Who are all those people?
And, another high point this past week occurred on Wednesday (I was in DC for meetings) when we hit our busiest day ever!  I think it might have been helped along by the World Net Daily story (Push back growing! by Leo Hohmann) that day which revealed that the rich Leftwing groups (refugee contractors!) had published a report outlining a strategy to shut up anyone or any town elected officials that might be resisting their plans to seed America with migrants.
Here are our top three posts of the week (the Nashville Arabic story went through the roof on Wednesday).  Top daily posts are in the right hand sidebar:

1. So it begins…Nashville schools to teach Arabic

2. Rohingya Muslims are definitely being brought to American towns

3. Planned refugee resettlement in Spartanburg, SC presents watershed moment

Regarding the Nashville schools post, don’t miss call to action, here.
Here are the top ten countries from which readers arrived at RRW this past week (excluding the US) in descending order:

Canada

UK

Australia

Malaysia

Germany

Indonesia

South Africa

India

European Union  (again, I don’t know why this is now showing up when the individual countries are listed as well)

Norway
