How Obama won — and will continue to get his way

The American Thinker has a brilliant article today on Obama’s strategy for winning the election, with a diagram that will blow your mind. “How He Did It: A Diagrammatic Analysis Analysis of the Obama Campaign,” by Paul Shlichta, begins this way:

“All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred, and schizophrenia.” —George Orwell.
The audacity and speed with which Obama railroaded the stimulus bill through Congress took Republicans by surprise. It shouldn’t have; it was a logical extension of his campaign tactics.
.
Like the spear-carrying soldiers of Ethiopia, overwhelmed by Mussolini’s tanks and poison gas in 1936, the Republicans simply don’t know what hit them in last year’s election. Some felt that they had conducted an old-fashioned 20th century campaign while Obama mounted the first truly information-age 21st century political blitzkrieg. Others blame the blatant media bias, the race issue, or the unprecedented scale of fund raising and spending.
.
The first month of Obama’s regime has provoked a similar bewilderment. A dazed Congress hastily authorized a huge document, filled with hidden booby traps like RAT, that none of them had actually read, let alone comprehended. Republicans are now cowering in corners, wondering what atrocity will come next.
.
In order to fight back we need to analyze how he did it, the author says. He explains his diagram, which is very complex because Obama’s strategy is complex. So far, Republicans don’t seem to have a clue how to counteract this strategy, which is understandable. As Schlicta says, it’s spear-carriers versus tanks. I hope the chart and the explanation get circulated far and wide, and some smart conservatives figure out what to do.
.
The alternative is to wait until Obama fails — the economy collapses and/or we undergo major terrorist attacks. But even then, you can just see Obama blaming it on his opposition and positioning himself as the One who will save the country. Obama learned well from Alinsky, but he is miles past him now.
.
In Refugee Resettlement Watch’s little corner of the political world, I predict huge increases in refugee quotas. Whatever is destabilizing and disruptive, that’s the way he will go.

Blogger launches petition to halt all Muslim Immigration to the US

Citizen Warrior, a blogger I didn’t know about until today has launched a petition drive to urge the cessation of all Muslim immigration to the US.  His letter begins:

The United States must change its immigration policies to exclude Muslims. Islam is both a religion and a political ideology, and its politics are supremacist. That is, the doctrines of mainstream Islam command the followers of this faith to work toward the dominance of their religion over all other religions and the dominance of their political system over all other religions. This is not some “extreme” or “radical” form of Islam. The supremacist doctrine is a fundamental part of the mainstream Islamic faith. Read more about it: Islam 101.

Furthermore, one of the basic tenets of the faith is that loyalty to Islam comes before loyalty to any government or country.

Read on.   To sign the petition go here.   (Note you can sign anonymously)

By the way, its been a long time since I posted anything in the category we called “creating a movement,” but this whole concept of taking action, like this petition, is critical to political advocacy.   The Open Borders crowd knows these strategies well having been schooled at the knee of radicals such as those I’ve been writing about in “Community destabilization.”

You gotta just keep hammering and hammering!

Update a few minutes later:   I think this is very funny in light of what I just said about political advocacy.  I signed the petition and immediately got an advertisement for SEIU.  This Care 2 site is a very leftwing organizing site (animal rights, workers rights, etc.)

The SEIU is the Service Employees International Union which I wrote about earlier here.  It is also linked to Obama and the on-going ‘Blago’ scandal in Illinois!

You see, all these leftist radical types are into petitioning, so I guess we are now too!

Excellent review and a must-read book

Janet Levy writing at American Thinker  today reviews Robert Chandler’s book, “Shadow World: Resurgent Russia, The Global New Left, and Radical Islam.”   Levy concludes:

The United States is at a critical juncture in its history faced with threats from international Marxists, an internal socialist movement and global jihadists. Once any of these elements achieves significant positions of power within the United States, they will proceed with their plans to destroy Western civilization. Our freedom, sovereignty and way of life could be extinguished by any of these forces that are acting against our democratic republic. Robert Chandler’s warnings in Shadow World must be heeded if we are to survive.

Read the review, get the book, and get to work!

Find your place, your role, in saving America.  Let me make a recommendation.  Don’t spend a lot of time being anxious and running around like a chicken with your head cut off.  Read this book, but don’t spend all your time wallowing in books like this.   If you care about our way of life, our freedom and our great country then examine your talents and find a place to apply them.

Are you good with people in your community, then be a community organizer for the right side.  Find like-minded people and figure out ways to spread the word.  Create new groups.  Join existing community groups and speak up.

Can you write?  Then send letters to editors, government officials, etc.  Better still, start your own blog and find some area that needs to be exposed—don’t just yak, do research and figure out ways to make your work public, bypassing the mainstream media.  Comment at other people’s blogs.

Join some of the mushrooming number of conservative organizing groups on the internet.  Join a religious conservative group.  Join a gun club!   Help build coalitions of groups.  By the way, building coalitions is a bedrock strategy of the Alinsky school of community organizing.

I think conservative talk radio is great, but it can have the effect of making you think our views are being heard.  Encourage talk radio hosts to give more instructions on action that needs to be taken.  I don’t think conservative listeners always know what to do with the information they have been given.

Anyway, you get the gist!   Find your place, go to work and don’t get too anxious about the big picture (keep it in the back of your mind), but don’t let it consume you.

Brigitte Gabriel pressured Tyson’s foods not to give in to jihad

Jamie Glazov at FrontPage Magazine interviews Brigitte Gabriel today, and she tells us something we didn’t know. Her group, ACT! for America, was behind the deluge of phone calls that hit the Tyson plant in Shelbyville, Tennessee, when they tried to pacify their Somali employees by substituting a Muslim holiday for Labor Day. (Our posts on the issue are here.) Here’s the story:

Tyson Foods in Tennessee had caved to Muslim employees demands through the union to replace Labor Day as a holiday by the Islamic holy day of Eid el-Fitr. We were outraged that an American corporation would cave to such a demand. Labor Day Holiday is a part of the fabric of America. We sent out an email action alert to our members explaining the situation and giving them the telephone number of Tyson’s customer service department. Hundreds of people from around the country contacted Tyson. In few hours they shot down their phone lines.

In addition to notifying members to call Tyson, she used her media contacts:

We also have many producers of top TV news show who are subscribers to our action alerts. They aired the story to millions exposing Tyson’s decision. Because of the massive pressure on Tyson, three days later the company announced it had renegotiated the contract, restored Labor Day, and removed Eid al-Fitr as a paid holiday for all employees after next year.

What a great achievement, and a very meaningful one:

This is the power of an organized mass movement. We knew that this issue was very important because two major players were watching Tyson’s reaction: The Islamic Lobby and other American corporations. We wanted to send a message that the American public is alive and well and ready to take action. Americans are not going to lay down and play dead.

The main point of the interview is to show that an activist organization like hers is needed, and what it can accomplish. She says:

There are many fine organizations that have been researching and publishing information on this, some for many years. And that education and information is essential to our long-term prospects for victory. But it’s not sufficient. Education must be followed by organized action. I traveled the nation and abroad the last few years speaking about Islamic terrorism and realized that once people became educated, they were asking what can I do? Give me something to do because I want to make a difference.

We’ve got some activists who comment here and email us:  journalists who write the truth, citizens who write letters and post comments in their local newspapers that educate others and those who write to their elected representatives, even people who are working in the belly of the beast — the volags and government agencies — who give us important information. All of your actions make a difference.

Another brilliant post by Vanishing American: conservatives must be brave now

Last week, I posted here on an article by Vanishing American, and today you must read his post entitled “Nothing to fear…..”    It begins with a discussion about a comment thread at Gates of Vienna, where even ‘our folks’ couch their words in obvious fear (of what? of whom?).

This is just a small portion near the end:

We have to find ways to get across to our fellow ‘conservatives’ who are still somewhat under the PC spell that this is no time to worry about little niceties like whether we hurt somebody’s feelings — especially when those somebodies have not the least regard for our feelings — or whether we look like ‘bigots’ to someone else, or whether someone calls us a name.

It’s painfully obvious that these ‘conservatives’ absolutely don’t see the direness of our situation; they seem to think that in being polite and fair and considerate and ‘tolerant’, we will somehow deflect what is coming our way. They just don’t see, can’t see, or just plain refuse to see that our house is on fire, and this is not the time to worry about being genteel and inoffensive. It’s not the time to show our magnanimity and our good nature by deferring to the enemies in our midst. Worrying about political incorrectness on our side is absurd at this late hour.

As I argued in a couple of posts before, there is a time for anger and yes, even a time for hate. That last phrase is in the Book of Ecclesiastes. And yet so many people today want to be holier than God himself and disclaim hate or even righteous anger. And what we are talking about does not even fall under the true definition of ‘hate’, a word which by the way has been overused and abused by the left. What is being called ‘hate’ all too often is merely a speaking of unflattering truths, or in some cases, an expression of righteous wrath at the wrongs being inflicted on us. It is an expression of outrage at the injustices which are multiplying every day. It’s a cry of protest against the invasion of our country, the criminalization of free speech, the loss of our rights, and the loss of our homes. Are we to be silenced even in the face of those things?

[….]

To the politically correct among us, what are you afraid of? Us? Yourselves? The Other?
As for me, I’m only afraid that we will go gently and politically correctly into that good night.
I don’t welcome the dying of the light, and as long as there is breath in me, I will rage against it.

Could this be why we are so inspired by Sarah Palin—her fearlessness, her unabashed disregard for political correctness.   Maybe God has granted us a ‘Joan of Arc’ of sorts, a leader we can stand with as she (with our help) rages against the dark.

Read the whole post at Vanishing American.  I wish I could write like that!
