Breitbart: Chronology of lies in case of Iraqi refugee arrested in California

So much for “robust” screening…..

Michael Patrick Leahy writing at Breitbart did a thorough job of cataloging the chronology of lies told by alleged ISIS fighter turned Obama refugee—Omar Ameen.

From Breitbart yesterday (I saw it after I posted my short news item on the arrest, here)

And, btw, other news stories on the case only did a quick summary, while Leahy actually went to the court filings:

Iraqi Refugee, Alleged Islamic State Murderer, Arrested in California

The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force arrested an Iraqi refugee in Sacramento, California on Wednesday on the authority of an arrest warrant for the 2014 murder of an Iraqi police officer issued by an Iraqi judge on May 16.

Ameen
Ameen has a scheduled hearing on Monday in his extradition case—watch the courts save his ass!

“Omar Ameen, 45, an Iraqi national, wanted on a murder charge in Iraq, appeared before a federal magistrate judge in Sacramento, California today in connection with proceedings to extradite him to face trial in Iraq.

Ameen settled in Sacramento as a purported refugee and attempted to gain legal status in the United States,” the Department of Justice said in a statement released late Wednesday.

Court documents alleged that Ameen, who entered the United States from Turkey in November 2014 through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, led a four truck ISIS caravan to Rahwah, Iraq where he murdered the police officer on June 22, 2014.

[….]

Court documents presented on Wednesday outline what appears to be a highly sophisticated ruse by Ameen, who along with many members of his family has been a member of ISIS and its predecessor Islamist terrorist organizations since at least 2004, to gain approval into the U.S. Refugee Admissions program by making a number of false statements, and then use his approved U.S. refugee status as a getaway mechanism after carrying out the 2014 murder of the Iraqi police officer.

Leahy then goes through a series of lies told by Ameen that should have raised red flags if he had ever received any “robust” vetting as the Obama Administration and the refugee industry had been insisting was the case.

As we have reported on many occasions, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees does the first cut on the supposed screening of refugees to America.

Leahy plucked this bit from government filings against Ameen:

In or about April 2012, Ameen arrived in Turkey and began the process of applying for refugee status.

Ameen claimed on his Resettlement Registration Form before the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (“UNHCR”) that in 2010, his father, Abdulsattar Ameen Hussein, was killed due to his cooperation with the American military. . . In actuality, the death certificate for Abdulsattar Ameen (which Ameen did not submit with any of his applications) indicates he died from natural causes—a cerebral clot—on December 25, 2010.

That is just one example of the shoddy screening this alleged ISIS fighter received.

comey (1)
Apparently James Comey was right about one thing when he told Congress in 2017 that the FBI was investigating US refugees for ties to terrorism.  300 he said! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2017/05/09/comey-fbi-looking-at-2000-cases-of-us-links-to-foreign-terrorists-300-are-refugees/

Perhaps most astounding is Ameen’s time line.

He was granted refugee status on June 5, 2014 even as he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest in Iraq for other ISIS terror-related activities. He returned to Iraq on June 22, 2014 and allegedly killed the police officer. Did no one even know he had left Turkey?

Five months later he was resettled in Sacramento by the Obama Administration.

Read all of Leahy’s account here.

Expect the whole story to disappear from the media within days because it flies in the face of the major refugee industry talking point that refugees are thoroughly screened.

By the way, four resettlement contractors were operating in Sacramento in 2014: International Rescue Committee, Church World Service, US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants.  Wonder which one placed him.

One more thing…

Through the Obama years Turkey was one of the top countries processing refugees to the US, see here.  Under President Trump, Turkey lost its significant role in sending us mostly Muslim refugees.

Surprise! (Not!) Trump DOJ finds another Islamic terrorist refugee living in US—an Iraqi this time!

So much for that “robust” vetting of refugees that the Obama Administration was bragging about!

Ameen
Ameen lied on his refugee application to America highlighting again that it is virtually impossible to vet refugees!

Just last week it was this pair of Somalis in Arizona and now this Iraqi in California—liars living on your dime!

How many more will Trump’s Justice Department find?

AG Sessions blames courts for allowing cop shooter to avoid earlier deportation

This is an update of the story from Colorado Springs—a story getting almost no media attention—where an Iraqi refugee is charged with critically wounding a local police officer.

AG Sessions:  Al Khammasi should not have been in the country!

On Saturday, Officer Cem Duzel remained in critical condition.

Breitbart is reporting that Attorney General Jeff Sessions used the near fatal shooting of Duzel as something that would not have happened if earlier courts had not blocked the Iraqi refugee’s deportation in the wake of other crimes he had previously committed.

But that isn’t the important bit of news I want to focus on…..

Buried in the Breitbart story here, is perhaps the first time in ten years that I have seen any reporter make a direct connection between a refugee’s violent crime and the resettlement agency responsible for his placement in the state—Lutheran Family Services is specifically mentioned in news reports.

That is a breakthrough!!!!

Colorado Springs: Is Iraqi who shot police officer in the head a refugee?

Update August 7th:  The Washington Times is reporting that he is a refugee. See here.  So much for “robust” screening!

Here we go again, another violent crime and no one seems to know if the alleged perpetrator is a refugee, or if he is here through some other legal immigration program?

Iraqi Karrar Al Khammasi

The story in The Gazette (and on Fox News this morning) reminded me that Colorado Springs has the distinction of being the location where five Iraqis who supposedly ‘helped’ our troops in Iraq were arrested in 2011 (several were ultimately convicted) for brutally raping a local woman.

Frankly, authorities do know what sort of visa the latest Iraqi arrested Thursday used to get here, they just don’t want the public to know!

Here we go again!

Secret decoder ring needed to figure out his immigration status!

Parents arrested in teen abuse case; father was an Iraqi interpreter for US

There are dozens of reports in publications around the world about the case of a missing San Antonio teen, Maarib al-Hishmawi, now found alive and well in the care of an unnamed organization that protected her.
She went into hiding because she didn’t want to go through with an arranged marriage (this is the United States!) and she reported she suffered physical abuse by her parents because of her refusal to essentially be sold to a man she didn’t know for $20,000. (Did I mention that this is the United States!).

I read several stories on the case and note that some, including the Washington Post, skirted the subject of just how this family came to live in the US in the first place.
At other reports, including here at the Daily Caller, we learn that Maarib’s father was an interpreter and thus is likely to have been admitted on a Special Immigrant Visa.
Faithful reader know that I have been writing about the huge number of Afghans and Iraqis (with extended families) which have been arriving in the US for the last ten years and the pace has actually been increasing, especially from Afghanistan, during the Trump Administration. (This family obviously arrived during the Obama Admin.)
See my recent posts on SIVs here and here.
Here is the Daily Caller, but if you simply search for ‘Maarib al-Hishmawi’ you will see the story has gone viral.

Authorities arrested a Muslim couple from Iraq March 23 in San Antonio, Texas, for beating and torturing their daughter after she refused a forced marriage.

Sixteen-year-old Maarib Al Hishmawi ran away from Taft High School at the end of January and remained missing until authorities announced they found her as of March 24, according to the San Antonio Express-News. When authorities finally located Maarib, she told them she fled because her parents beat her with broomsticks, poured hot cooking oil on her, and choked her “almost to the point of unconsciousness.” These actions were due to Maarib’s refusal of consent to a forced marriage with an older man.

Iraqi girl parents
Parents arrested last Friday

“This young lady … was subjected to some pretty bad abuse because she didn’t want to be married to this person,” Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar told The Washington Post.

Maarib’s parents, Abdulah Fahmi Al Hishmawi and Hamdiyah Sabah Al Hishmawi, arranged in mid-2017 to marry their daughter to an older man once he agreed to pay the family $20,000, investigators said.

[….]

Abdulah became increasingly agitated during the investigation, blaming a lack of police effort for his daughter’s continued disappearance and even suggested she was kidnapped and taken back to the Middle East. Authorities found Maarib, however, in mid-March in another city. They declined to name the group who sheltered her during that time.

[….]

Abdulah immigrated to the U.S. in 2016 from Iraq with his six children after having worked for the U.S. forces as an interpreter, he said. Maarib’s family held two year visas for the U.S. but did not go into detail about what kind of visas they were, Officials told San Antonio Express-News.  [I don’t know what the reference to two years is, perhaps they have to renew it at that time.  I’ll see if I can find out.—ed]

More here.
I should mention that SIV families come under the care of the usual gang of US State Department resettlement contractors and are treated as refugees. So, assuming they were resettled in San Antonio, resettlement agencies headquartered there would know them. I guess these parents missed the cultural orientation sessions they were supposedly given.
I expect to see women’s rights activists and the NOW gang out in force condemning arranged marriages!
