Maine: Former Governor and Immigration Hardliner to Run Again in 2022

He’s baaack!

Governor Paul LePage once quipped: “I was Donald Trump before Donald Trump became popular!”

The Republican Governor who attempted to stem the flow of Maine taxpayer- funded welfare to literally the world says he will run again in 2022.  If he wins it would end 4 years of Democrat control of a state trending blue in recent years.

Here is the news at Breitbart:

‘Working People Vote Republican’: Former Gov. Paul LePage Launches Comeback Bid in Maine

Former Maine Gov. Paul LePage (R) announced Monday that he would run once again in 2022 as he seeks to serve as the state’s governor, a role he previously held for two terms.

LePage said in a campaign announcement:

Today I am officially starting my campaign for Governor of Maine. Maine faces several challenges and we must work toward building a better future based on individual liberty, fiscal responsibility, and an economy which empowers everyone including our rural communities.

“We simply cannot continue to look to Washington, DC for bailouts, subsidies, or leadership,” he added. “We must ensure Maine is a great place to raise a family for generations to come, for all Mainers regardless of background.”

And, then take a trip down memory lane to see the many posts I’ve written on the irascible Paul LePage.

I have an extensive category on Maine, click here.  Lewiston, the Somali capital of New England, has been a favorite topic.

And here is one of my top posts of all time.  From 2009:

Somali Migration to Maine: it’s the welfare magnet, stupid

Somali and Rohingya Muslims Celebrate World Refugee Day in Greeley, Colorado

The “crowd?” The purpose of UN designated World Refugee Day events, like this one in Greeley, is to create a positive media spin, to generate  warm and fuzzy feelings as the Open Borders Left changes America by changing the people.

It wasn’t exactly a crowd in attendance at Greeley’s celebration of World Refugee Day on June 20th, and it really wouldn’t be worth writing about except for the fact that back in 2008 I created an entire category here at RRW to archive all of the news and controversy coming out of Greeley as the Somalis flowed in to work at massive meatpacking plants located in the area.

Meatpackers wanted the cheap refugee labor so desperately that they caved to demands for religious accommodation at many plants throughout the West and the Midwest.

I began following the controversy in my first year (2007) of writing this blog and today begins my 15th year.  Am I nuts?

There are 9,656 posts here at RRW, which I began publishing with my friend Judy in July of 2007. I surely would have hit the 10,000 mark if I hadn’t been deplatformed for awhile in 2019.

I can’t say I’ve accomplished much other than creating a massive archive.

https://vridar.org/2016/09/01/the-founder-of-islamist-extremism-and-terrorism/

My category entitled ‘Greeley/Swift/Somali controversy has 97 posts in it.  Anyone interested in writing a book about how giant globalist meat companies have changed America have their research done for them!

One little nugget I learned when I started writing about Greeley, which I visited in my 2016 travels to see meatpacking towns which experienced demographic change, was that Greeley has the dubious distinction of being considered the birthplace of Al Qaeda.

What!!!!

See for yourself!

Legacy of Islamic revolutionary’s hate haunts Greeley

I wrote about Greeley’s dubious role here in 2008:

Muslims in Greeley today and that city’s role in the birth of Al Qaeda

Enough of my trip down memory lane.

Here is the news about World Refugee Day with its focus on Somali refugee Abdi Adan who doesn’t work in a slaughter plant but works for the Lutherans to supply more Somali workers for globalist meatpackers in Colorado.

By the way, they are getting jazzed everywhere throughout the West as Biden promises 125,000 refugees from Asia, Africa and the Middle East will be admitted beginning in October.  See cheap labor needed in Idaho!

For new readers this is in addition to the millions flowing in illegally now.

From the Greeley Tribune:

Greeley community celebrates World Refugee Day with annual event at Delta Park

A day dedicated to inclusivity, diversity and celebration

A Somali man assisted by Lutheran Family Services in his resettlement to Greeley now has a job with the agency managing other refugees’ cases.

Abdi Adan was one of several refugees who shared their stories Sunday at the annual World Refugee Day Celebration at Delta Park in Greeley. Adan spoke of past hardships, spending 18 years in refugee camps in Kenya before moving to the United States with his family. His children were awarded citizenship in 2019.

Adan praised Lutheran Family Services for helping him resettle to the United States.

“Finally, I am very happy to be part of the LFS team who are dedicated to serve refugees,” Adan said Sunday. “My message to all refugees over the world, is to not give up hope no matter how long you struggle in refugee camps and just wait your chance for a better life.”

World Refugee Day is meant to make sure refugees know the community wants them, supports them and is a welcoming place for all different types of people, according to Immigrant and Refugee Center Executive Director Lisa Taylor.

The Greeley Tribune reports that about 50 people were in attendance to demonstrate that Greeley was “welcoming,” but one wonders where were the other 100,000 or so residents of the city.

And, by the way, it is worth mentioning the list of organizations putting on the party whose purpose was to continue to normalize the idea of changing the American heartland with the importation of diverse, and in this case, Muslim refugees.

Different organizations from the community — The Immigrant and Refugee Center, Lutheran Family Services, Soccer Without Borders, Trust For Public Land, the city of Greeley and High Plains Library District — collaborated to provide a memorable experience for attendees.

What the heck does the Trust for Public Land have to do with this?  They are a radical leftwing environmental group I know from my days of fighting to keep private lands out of the hands of the federal government.

Check out the pictures at the Greeley Tribune.

Sure looks like the “crowd” was mostly the volunteers for the groups putting on the event, but of course the newspaper is never going to tell you that!

Memory Lane: Refugee Criminals and Terrorists Through the Years

When reader Paul pointed out to me that in an opinion piece from Billings Montana entitled: “Guest opinion: Billings should welcome refugees in our community,” included this paragraph it sent me on a trip down memory lane (something I plan to do more of as my 14th year writing this blog begins on Thursday)!

It would be naïve to believe that all Montanans agree with us, but we suspect many concerns about refugee resettlement are rooted in misinformation. Refugees are distinct from those seeking asylum at the U.S.-Mexico border. Refugees come at the invitation of our federal government and, as a Heritage Foundation report notes, already “undergo more vetting than any other immigrants to the U.S.” It’s a credit to our government that not a single one of more than 3 million refugees resettled since the Refugee Act was signed in 1980 has taken the life of a U.S. citizen in a terrorist attack.

I don’t have the energy right now to go into the subject of the traitors at the Heritage Foundation or the fact that the UN picks our refugees, but I am sick to the death of the line I highlighted above.  And, never mind the fact that the Biden Administration is softening its stance on vetting after Trump put in place stricter vetting.

Note the qualifiers: “taken the life of a U.S. citizen in a terrorist attack.”  Well, they sure as hell have come close!  And, if you count the Boston Bombers who were refugees via the asylum system, they sure did kill Americans.

In 2010 a Somali refugee was arrested and ultimately convicted for planning a bomb attack on Portland’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

And, more importantly remember that some terrorist attacks were planned by refugees but thwarted before they could execute their plans.

Without a doubt, some refugees have, sure as hell, raped Americans and committed other violent crimes.

They have killed some of their own fellow refugees as well, but apparently the refugee apologists don’t care about whether they kill foreigners or their own family members.  I guess they don’t count!

Back in 2017 I put together a list of some refugee terror attack plans and included additional crimes perpetrated by the thoroughly “vetted” refugees!

(On some older posts that were initially lost when I was deplatformed a couple of years ago, the formatting isn’t the greatest, but the information is still there.)

Boston bomber family: maybe we shouldn’t have come to America

I have over 9,000 posts here at RRW, so I am sure there are other refugee criminal posts I’m missing above, but I think you get the drift.

And incidentally, a Somali refugee just went on a killing spree in Germany, so what makes anyone think this isn’t going to happen here:

Germany: Somali Refugee Kills Three Wounds Five in Obvious Islamic Terrorist Attack

The federal refugee contractors and their hundreds of subcontractors are out now frantically searching for new unsuspecting communities willing to ‘welcome’ some of Biden’s promised 125,000 refugees expected to begin arriving on October first of this year.

Thus you may see pieces in your local paper, like the one above from the Billings Gazette which are for the purpose of softening-up your town or city so citizens don’t resist their plans to change America by changing the people.

For new readers, here are the nine major contractors.  So far the International Rescue Committee has its hooks in Montana.

State Department Admits Massive Fraud in Iraqi Refugee Program

We reported that an investigation was underway, here in February:

Biden Admin Halts Special Refugee Program for Iraqis Due to Fraud Bust

However, now the international corporate media is admitting it.

But, you need to know that this isn’t the first and won’t be the last admission that fraud is rampant in the US Refugee Admissions Program.

Longtime readers may remember the moratorium on Somalis entering the US that began back in 2008 when the State Department uncovered fraud in the family reunification program—oopsy the Somalis claiming to be family members weren’t even kissing cousins.

I followed that scam investigation:

State Department: Possibly tens of thousands of Somalis in the US illegally

In 2007, I first told readers about how Ted Kennedy secretively tacked the Special Iraqi program onto a must-pass Defense Authorization bill in the dark of night.

How many Iraqi refugees will be resettled in Hyannisport?

So here we are nearly 50,000 Iraqis later…

From Reuters this morning just in time for UN-designated World Refugee Day on Sunday:

Mark Hetfield, CEO of HIAS (formerly Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) one of nine federal resettlement contractors*** is quoted as saying:

“Resettlement is a very scarce and valuable and lifesaving commodity,” said Mark Hetfield, president of HIAS, a refugee resettlement agency.

“People … are going to do anything they can to access it.”

EXCLUSIVE U.S. suspects 4,000 cases of fraud in Iraqi refugee program -documents

WASHINGTON, June 18 (Reuters) – U.S. authorities pursuing a sweeping fraud investigation suspect some 4,000 Iraqis of filing fraudulent applications for resettlement in the United States as refugees, and they are re-examining cases involving more than 104,000 others, according to State Department reports reviewed by Reuters.

More than 500 Iraqis already admitted as refugees have been implicated in the alleged fraud and could be deported or stripped of their U.S. citizenship, according to one document sent to members of Congress. It said there was “no indication to date that any of these 500+ individuals have ties to terrorism.”

The probe – one of the biggest into refugee program fraud in recent history – is fueling reservations among some in Joe Biden’s administration as they debate whether to create a similar program to assist Afghan refugees as American troops withdraw after 20 years of war, U.S. officials told Reuters.

The reports show the investigation is more far-reaching and serious than U.S. officials have disclosed since announcing in January a 90-day freeze of the Iraqi “Direct Access” refugee program. The suspension, which in April was extended indefinitely by the State Department, followed the unsealing of an indictment accusing three foreign nationals of fraud, records theft and money laundering.

A State Department spokesperson declined to comment on the scope of the investigation and internal government deliberations, but said the fraud scheme did not affect security vetting of refugees.

“The discovery, investigation, and prosecution of individuals involved in the scheme demonstrated the U.S. government’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of the program while upholding our humanitarian tradition,” the spokesperson said. “Those who would seek to take advantage of America’s generosity in welcoming the most vulnerable people will be held accountable.”

The spokesperson did not give a timeline for the investigation, but said the agency would work “as quickly and thoroughly as possible” to complete the review and make any necessary security changes.

Now this next part doesn’t make any sense to me because we are already bringing tens of thousands of Afghans here in the Special Immigrant Visa Program, the same one that the Iraqis used.

Here is one post on the Afghans from 2019:

Special Immigrant Visa Holders Coming in by the Thousands from Afghanistan, but Iraqi Flow has Slowed

You can see here that over 2,000 Afghans have been admitted in just the present fiscal year. How many did your state ‘welcome?’

Back to Reuters:

Under pressure from lawmakers of both parties and advocacy groups, the Biden administration is considering a similar program for Afghans facing Taliban retribution, according to a State Department official, a congressional aide and a lawmaker.

But there “are a lot of reservations” about expediting the resettlement of Afghans as refugees in the United States, said the State Department official, citing the problems with the Iraqi program.

There is much, much more so continue reading here.

I just took a trip down memory lane and see that I have a lot of posts on the Special Immigrant Visa Program and here is one in particular you should see.  Obama Judge rules that we aren’t bringing sufficient numbers of Iraqis and Afghans!

Judge Says Trump Admin Not Moving Fast Enough Bringing in Iraqi and Afghan Special Visa Holders

***In case you are new to RRW, here are the nine contractors that have monopolized all refugee distribution in the US for decades.

When President Trump reduced the number of regular refugees being admitted, he did continue the Iraq and Afghan special refugees program and the contractors, we learned, were surviving off their payouts to resettle them.

Foreigners First! is their motto.

As They Call for Senate Hearings, Republican Governors’ Outrage is a Joke

Governors Kim Reynolds of Iowa and Bill Lee of Tennessee want the Senate to hold hearings on what they see as an outrageous affront to states’ rights as the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement is flying Unaccompanied Alien Children (refugee wannabes) in and out of their states with no communication with the governor or state officials.

We all know that a Senate hearing is nothing but a useless piece of political theater that won’t accomplish smack, but these grandstanding Republican governors obviously think they can trick you into believing they are doing something!

Is it any wonder we have such disdain for Republican governors like Reynolds.

And, what makes me steam over this little temper tantrum by Reynolds and Lee is that they had a chance to take a stand for states’ rights on the issue of the federal government dumping refugees on states and communities back when Trump was attempting to give them more rights (actually give them the rights they are due under our US Constitution) and they snubbed their noses at him.

Trump was trying to give them a chance to say they needed a break from refugees being placed in their states by the feds and unelected non-profit group actors, and they turned him down.

Only Governor Abbott of Texas outright supported Trump’s reform effort and said he would not consent for 2020.

Here is Reynold’s attempting to make you think she is working for Iowans by demanding a Senate hearing—what a joke!—typical oily political move.

From the Ames Tribune:

19 migrant children had a layover in an Iowa airport. Gov. Kim Reynolds wants Congress to get answers

With no notice to the state, at least 19 unaccompanied children were transported in an overnight flight through Des Moines from California in April, Gov. Kim Reynolds confirmed Thursday, saying she wants to know more details.

After deplaning, the children were taken on two buses to be transported to various locations for unification, according to a Thursday news release from Reynolds’ office.

“We weren’t able to get any answers about why there were chartered planes coming in the middle of night — chartered buses — and unaccompanied minors removed from the plane and then transported outside of the state,” Reynolds told reporters Thursday.

[….]

In April, a total of 163 unaccompanied migrant children were released to sponsors in Iowa, according to the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement statistics.

[….]

Good ol’ country boy, Lee with his pick ’em up truck.

Reynolds and  Lee — who says unaccompanied minor children were brought to his state in May without any notification — wrote the joint letter to Grassley in support of the senator’s demands for a Senate Judiciary Hearing into the situation on the U.S. southern border with Mexico.

More: Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee wants U.S. Senate to hold hearings on unaccompanied minors

Gov. Bill Lee is asking the U.S. Senate to investigate the arrival of unaccompanied migrant children in Tennessee, a request that comes as the Republican governor continues to slam the Biden administration over a lack of transparency on the issue.

Lee and Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, a fellow Republican, sent the letter on Thursday to U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. Grassley in April requested that Senate Democrats hold hearings to discuss the influx of migrants at the southern border since President Joe Biden took office.

Their demand for a hearing is easy.

Their demand for “transparency” is their way of making you, voting citizens of Iowa and Tennessee, think that they are doing something, but when given a chance to really take a stand for a state’s right to know who is being placed in their states by the feds, and have an opportunity to say no, they just didn’t have the guts.

Albeit it was a different type of ‘refugee’…they are all refugees now, right!  This letter below is what Reynolds sent to Trump’s Secretary of State.

Notice no interest even in finding out who is coming and how many.

So why would the present administration think they had to confer with these heretofore ‘welcoming’ Republican governors?

And, here is Lee’s letter that caused an uproar in Tennessee.

Texas Governor Abbot wrote a detailed letter that ended with him not giving consent to refugees being placed by the feds in Texas for FY2020.

Both Kemp of Georgia and DeSantis of Florida remained silent.

Word is that the Trump people were very shocked and disappointed that most Republican governors turned down the President’s attempt to give them more say, to give them some modicum of states’ rights, in advance of a refugee drop.

If you are wondering whatever happened to that reform effort via a Trump executive order, the refugee resettlement contractors (below) sued and stopped the initiative dead in its tracks.
