This is so funny! Obama joker poster created by Palestinian

It was inevitable that the mainstream media was on a desperate hunt to find out who the evil-doer was who created that controversial poster of Pres. Obama as the ‘joker’ —the Batman character.  If you haven’t seen it, you will when you open this link to learn about who this racist right wing crazy person was.

Well, he wasn’t a conservative crazy, only a Chicagoan from a Palestinian immigrant family who happens not to be wild about Obama.

When cryptic posters portraying President Obama as the Joker from “Batman” began popping up around Los Angeles and other cities, the question many asked was, Who is behind the image?

Was it an ultra-conservative grassroots group or a disgruntled street artist going against the grain?

Nope, it turns out, just a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.

Bored during his winter school break, Firas Alkhateeb, a senior history major at the University of Illinois, crafted the picture of Obama with the recognizable clown makeup using Adobe’s Photoshop software.

Read on at the Los Angeles Times to see how it was done.

Alkhateeb thinks Obama is better than Bush on foreign policy issues but not on domestic issues.

“After Obama was elected, you had all of these people who basically saw him as the second coming of Christ,” Alkhateeb said. “From my perspective, there wasn’t much substance to him.”

Although Alkhateeb claims he was making no political statement with the artwork, he’s plugged into the Washington debate. Though born in the United States, his Palestinian family closely follows Middle Eastern politics.

“I think he’s definitely doing better than Bush was,” Alkhateeb said of Obama. Alkhateeb’s views on foreign relations align with the Democrats, he said, while he prefers Republican ideals on domestic issues.

Alkhateeb’s assessment of Obama: “In terms of domestic policy, I don’t think he’s really doing much good for the country right now,” he said. “We don’t have to ‘hero worship’ the guy.”

The article tells us how efforts are being made to pull the image down, but I think the proverbial cat is out of the bag—I see innumerable ads for T-shirts and other memorabilia with the image.  What’s the government going to do now, track  down all the wearers and arrest them?

Iraqi refugee issue to go to Power in the White House

Update August 20th:  More evidence that Ms. Power will be taking State Department powers into the White House, here.

Well it looks like Obama, in another extraordinary move to consolidate his power in the White House, is taking one more issue away from Hillary at the State Department—Iraqi refugees.  I must admit I would normally love watching all this insider intrigue if it weren’t so very serious.  And, I do have a little sympathy for Hillary Clinton as Obama gradually reduces her power and influence—this time using her arch-enemy Samantha Power.

Pamela Geller over at Atlas Shrugs has a juicy little post Saturday that begins:

Back in October of 2008, before BHO was elected, I posted a video of one of Obama’s closest advisers, Samantha Power, calling for a military invasion of Israel (here). Power’s anti-Jewish racism became so hot, she was forced to resign. Of course that was not the reason given. If you remember, it was said that Power resigned from Obama’s election campaign because of a caustic comment she made about Hillary Clinton. Power called Clinton a monster. Oh yeah, Power is a real piece of …..work.

Read the rest of her “Hillary smackdown” post in which she explains how Ms. Power will be taking over an issue normally falling under the purview of the US State Department.

I bet what is going on is that the State Department is being sensible about Iraqi refugees and is coming to the understanding that we can’t resettle millions or even thousands here when there isn’t even enough employment for them and many are already very unhappy.    The White House and its power-brokers including Alinskyites such as John Podesta must be back to their insane idea of airlifting hundreds of thousands of Iraqi Muslims here ASAP.   See this post I wrote last winter about Podesta’s Center for American Progress lobbying for just that—an AIRLIFT.

Now, go back and read my previous post about importing the poor and angry and using them as pawns. I must admit it is getting pretty creepy watching all these radical ideas coming to fruition.

They are all finally catching on to Alinsky, but there is one understanding they haven’t come to, yet!

Thanks to reader Paul, I see that across the conservative spectrum the powers-that-be are catching on to the Alinsky strategy and how his strategy powered Obama’s rise to the Presidency of the United States of America.    I’m not saying I was the first to catch on, not by any stretch, others tipped me off, but we have been writing about Alinsky since last November.

It seems that next week Glenn Beck is going to do some more work exposing Alinsky and here David Horowitz says he will be doing a series on his blog about Rules for Radicals in advance of being a guest on Beck’s show.   Because Horowitz himself was a radical leftist in the 1960’s this surely isn’t the first time he has delved into the strategy.  Alinksy travelled from university to university during those turbulent times teaching community organizing  and surely Horowitz would have been aware of him, maybe even met him.

This is what Horowitz said yesterday:

Glenn Beck will be on vacation this week but when he returns on the 24th he has invited me to come to New York to talk to him on camera about Saul Alinsky, the strategy guru of the Obama era. For the Hillary-Soros generation of johnny-come-lately radicals and their ACORN footsoldiers Alinsky is their Sun-Tzu and his book Rules for Radicals is the field manual for their struggle. I thought while I’m refreshing my acquaintance with this destructive fellow and re-reading his text, I would share my thoughts with readers of NewsrealBlog serially over the next week.

For this first post (which I am also posting here), let’s just focus on the dedication of the book—to Satan.

Read on.

Andrew Breitbart has a column today on Alinsky, Bush and Obama  also. (Read Breitbart before proceeding)

Horowitz notes that he will serialize about Alinsky on his blog this week.  We did a serialization I called Alinskyism starting in early November 2008.   My model was one of the supposedly humorous calendars with Bushisms (you know quotes in which he misspoke) that one of my kids gave me just to annoy me.  Little did I know that that sort of calendar was following Alinsky’s Rule #5—destroy your enemy with ridicule.   See our whole category on Community Destabilization here.  There are 70 posts; so scroll back to November and start at the beginning as each builds on the previous one and our ability to spot Alinsky matured as we went along.

So what haven’t the conservatives figured out yet?   In order for there to be a community to organize, one needs angry poor people.   One needs “Have-nots!”  The chaos that leads to change, requires the “Have-nots” to fight the “Haves.”   The American poor I heard so much about in the 1950’s from my very Leftist father were the people living in places like Appalachia.  But, those people mostly joined the middle class, sent their kids off to the city, to the military and many off to college.  The ethnic groups Alinsky organized in Chicago also joined the middle class and became proud and patriotic Americans.  So where would the army of “have-nots” come from asked the radical left?   Obviously—immigration!

Leaders of the Democratic Party (Senator Ted Kennedy!), some of them Alinsky radicals themselves, knew the only way to continue to march toward socialism was to import ethnically diverse, angry, demanding poor people and to keep them that way as long as possible.

I know anyone with any sense of decency would dismiss this concept as downright evil—this idea of using poor angry people as pawns and hiding what they are doing under a patina of humanitarianism.   But, don’t forget, as Horowitz tells us above, Alinsky dedicated his book to Satan.

Endnote:  Where the radicals, including Obama, have misjudged badly is with their enthusiastic encouragement of Muslim immigration and the importation of radical Islamists seeking to get their own form of control — Shariah law.   They are working side-by-side now, but in the end the Islamists will destroy the radical Leftists.  If we let it get that far!

VDARE author tells us how open borders crowd blundered in Nashville

Thomas Allen writing at VDARE has published an article this week that humorously demontrates that rather than being a powerful group of smart operatives and savvy Chicago-style community organizers the open borders crowd in Nashville is just a bunch of blunderers.    We were there and we told you about the events as they unfolded in May when the swanky Loew’s Vanderbilt Hotel (that hires immigrant labor to keep wages low) cancelled an educational conference about Jihad days before it was to begin.

But, I don’t want to retell the story, Allen, who spoke at the conference, tells it so much better than I can.

Here are a couple of paragraphs I especially liked.  Negri, the hotel manager, had cancelled the Jihad conference fearing (he said) for the safety of guests and employees, but knew that on Monday he was having a press conference in which he was a principle participant.   Allen hypothesizes about what would make Negri do something so rash as renege on a contract and thus draw attention to the Jihad conference.

But, that brings up a third and, to me, completely plausible explanation for the abrupt cancellation. The Monday after the symposium there was to be a “press conference” held by the local Treason Lobby to kick off the national campaign for “immigration reform”, aka amnesty. The accidently publicized Jihad symposium would have been an embarrassment to Mr. Negri, who was publicly allied with the amnesty campaign.

Or maybe the cognitive dissonance required by having a symposium about Jihadists in America followed by a press conference announcing a strategy to let them all in was just too much.

Read the whole article and laugh.

Incidentally, as I watch the firestorm over health care reform (one of the questions always asked by participants, aka, the Mob, is about illegal aliens getting health care), I realize that efforts to drum up support for amnesty, like this one in Nashville have pretty much fizzled.

A few minutes later:   I see that Obama says he is pushing immigration reform to the House and Senate floors in early 2010.  I guess he better hope the public fire of August is out because throwing amnesty into the mix right now is akin to throwing gasoline on an inferno.

“You magnificent bastard, I read your book.”

What a fabulous line from George C. Scott in Patton and used to illustrate so appropriately the points David Stokes makes in his piece at Townhall today.    Hat tip:  Paul

Stokes, writing about the shock the extreme leftwing is experiencing when real grassroots America does some community organizing of its own, begins in “Rules for Witnesses:”

There is a scene early on in the movie Patton, where the feisty general watches the forces under his command do battle with those led by the legendary German Panzer leader, Erwin Rommel. To prepare for this particular skirmish, “Old Blood and Guts” studied the writings of his adversary, prompting the memorable line uttered in a gravely voice by actor George C. Scott: “Rommel, you magnificent bastard, I read your book!”

Stokes goes on to describe Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s sputtering and muttering about Nazis and how she relates Nazism and vile people to middle Americans who have had it with the Obama Administration and Congress’ attempt to seize the health care system of the entire country, and are organizing opposition.

Stokes says, we have read your book!   He is talking about Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and the seminal writing that all community organizers , including Obama, study when they sign up to “change” America.  All I can say is it’s about time everyone reads it.  I myself should have read it 40 years ago, but then in 1969, that tumultuous year for college students, I sadly would not have understood the significance.  [Historical note:  The earlier version of Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” was published in hardcover in 1969 by Random House under the title “Reveille for Radicals”]

What Nancy Pelosi is seeing is her side being on the receiving end of some of the kind of methodological medicine the left has been forcing down the country’s throat for quite a long time. I recently got around to reading Saul Alinsky’s book, Rules for Radicals. Yes, I know I should have done so long ago, but I thought I had a good enough grasp on what the man said back in 1971 via the thorough treatment his musings have received from the conservative punditry.

I was wrong. My bad. Every American should read it. It’s chilling.

I believe what we are now witnessing is a case of people being, as the saying goes (and as is actually used in Alinsky’s book) “hoisted with their own petard.” Fire is being fought with fire. The reflexive dismissal of angry citizens showing up at town hall meetings these days to give Washington insiders a piece of their mind as somehow orchestrated, notwithstanding.

This is not a top-down campaign with a few sinister puppeteers pulling the strings. The opposition to liberal health care machinations and other stuff is very real. What they see as orchestration is actually mobilization.

I have been laughing all week watching the radical Left twist themselves inside out as they watch conservatives do real community organizing!  Now, it seems the strategy is not so cool, right President Obama!  Right Mr. Axelrod!  Right Nancy!

What about immigration?

Now that conservatives are understanding community organizing and reading Alinsky, I look forward to the day when we begin to understand the connection of the Alinsky model (create chaos to bring about change) and how it relates to immigration.

Alinsky began his work in ethnic neighborhoods in Chicago.  In order for the entire Alinsky strategy to work organizers need angry, poor people (with a little racial tension thrown in for good measure) to continually demand more of the government.    The original minorities Alinsky agitated gradually became middle class citizens basically content with their lives and often very patriotic.  Darn, there went the army of the revolution—right into decent jobs, their own homes in the suburbs, sending kids to college or proudly to the military.

For all of us wondering where the  common sense is of the open borders leaders who continually demand that we import millions of poor immigrants who won’t have jobs and will thusly depend on government support, they are building  (or re-building) an Alinsky army.  The poor immigrants are just cannon fodder and the humanitarian do-gooders are their cover.

We have been talking about Alinsky in our Community Destabilization category since Obama was elected, here.
