Biden Administration Media Message: Periodic UAC Surges are Expected…

….so let’s build more bureaucracy to support them!

The headline at Pew Research is this:

Biden Wants to Prepare for Future Surges of Unaccompanied Minors

Okay, that news is bad enough, but it gave me a chuckle to see how they are spinning the present surge of illegal alien kids with the arrival of Biden in the Oval Office—just happens from time to time, move along, nothing to see!

It is just a normal cycle and we must be better prepared by spending more of your tax dollars for housing for the mostly teenaged boys. That apparently is the talking point coming from this White House.

If you missed my post the other day about planes landing in the night in Tennessee, check it out here:

Tennessee Proof: Planes Land in Dark of Night Loaded with Migrants

One good thing about the Tennessee expose’ is that the secrecy angle has brought the Administration’s movement of the ‘children’ to the media’s attention, but it has been going on for years.

We see that WRCB-TV in Chattanooga has an update. I’m happy that they are trying to get more accurate information on the Tennessee situation by using data at the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, but I have a bone to pick with them about their headline.  Here is my complaint:

The Unaccompanied Alien Children are illegal aliens NOT REFUGEES.

I’m sure that the plan all along, when in 2003 the ‘children’ were first assigned to the Office of Refugee Resettlement, was to make the uninformed media, and you, think that they are legitimate refugees when they aren’t!

They aren’t even legitimate asylum seekers unless, and until, they file an asylum claim.

WRBC-TV:

What happens next in the refugee resettlement process of migrant children?

It’s been more than a week since four planes carrying migrant children landed in Chattanooga.

Similar operations are happening across the country. Some of those children are being cared for in a group home, but hundreds of others left the airport on a bus.

Channel 3 learned what happens next in the refugee resettlement process, and the number of children relying on sponsors in Tennessee.

From October to March, 66 unaccompanied children were released to a sponsor in Hamilton County.

While the federal government looks for a sponsor, children are taken to one of about 200 facilities across twenty-two states. A child therapist says this process can take a toll on the children involved.

There are about 200 facilities across the country where unaccompanied children are being housed.

One of them is in Chattanooga, which can house between 30 and 50 minors.

As of May 13, there are around 20,000 kids in the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, nationwide. Their average stay is 31 days.

More on that shortly…

But, back to the Pew article I mentioned above.  Get ready for another federal agency for the ‘children.’

The Biden administration wants to create a permanent federal workforce to provide housing for unaccompanied migrant children during surges like the one that began in January and continues to overwhelm authorities.

Mayorkas is not wrong. Surges have occurred periodically, but Trump did get a handle on the problem toward the end of his presidency.

“We all know that surges arise periodically,” U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said during a congressional hearing earlier this month. “They arose in 2019. They arose in 2016, in 2014 and well before that. Migration is a very dynamic and fluid challenge that we have faced for many, many years.”

Mayorkas said during the hearing that DHS is exploring options, but the agency did not respond to a Stateline request for more detail.

Currently, the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, which is part of the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, houses the children by relying on state-licensed contractors. But Republican governors in Iowa, Nebraska, South Carolina, South Dakota and Wyoming recently blocked contractors in their states from taking in the children, claiming that the unaccompanied kids would displace those already in state foster care or limit states’ ability to make new placements.

However, there currently are no federally funded long-term foster care providers for unaccompanied minors in any of those five states.

The Pew article goes on to say that Senator Rob Portman said the previous administration had no surges, but I am sad to say he is wrong.  They might not have had a surge at the end of Trump’s time in office, but they sure did have a surge earlier as you will see below.

See the data compiled by the Migration Policy Institute.

I know it isn’t what we want to see, but Donald Trump presided over the largest surge year so far.

For perspective, in 2003, when ORR became the agency in charge of UACs, there were 8,000 arriving illegally that year.

And, so here is my big question:

Since over 70% of the ‘children are ages 15-17, what happens to them when they age-out as they turn 18?   Tens of thousands of Trump’s UACs likely already aged out. Where are they? Why does no one ask? Are they simply loose in your towns and counties?  I think so!

Don’t miss our friend Don Barnett’s  UAC Op-Ed at the Tennessee Star.

And, see that the Left-leaning Migration Policy Institute is critical of the Biden team’s handling of the mess.  Are they helping set the narrative that an entire new bureaucratic structure is the only answer to the border crisis?

There is another answer—close the border!

Update: Australia Looking for US to Continue to Take Their Rejected Illegal Aliens

For any of you who have followed or even remember the Australia “dumb deal” as Trump called it before honoring it, here is an update.

Australia had passed a law about a decade ago which said if anyone tried to break into the country by boat they would be put in offshore detention and not permitted to ask for asylum in Australia, so they ended up with thousands in detention.

Just as Obama was leaving office in late 2016 he promised to take those rejects off their hands, and so here we are now still doing it, although Biden is slow off the dime while Trump admitted 900.

Many Trump left behind are from Muslim countries on the so-called Muslim ban list.  We did, however, admit many Rohingya Muslims Australia was rejecting.

They aren’t “refugees!”  They are illegal aliens.  It would be like us asking Australia to take a bunch of those aliens jumping our US border right now.

From The Sydney Morning Herald:

Almost 1000 refugees still in limbo as US deal approaches completion

The Morrison government is yet to find permanent homes for more than 900 refugees still in limbo after going through Australia’s offshore processing regimes in Papua New Guinea and Nauru, some of whom are entering their ninth year in detention.

The 2016 deal to resettle refugees in the United States, struck at the time by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and US President Barack Obama, has filled three quarters of its 1250-person cap.

There are hopes the US could expand the agreement – which Donald Trump honoured – after President Joe Biden increased the US’s annual refugee intake to 62,500 earlier this month.

[….]

To date, 940 refugees have been resettled in the US under the deal, including 34 this year. The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre said another 258 refugees had been provisionally approved for resettlement but were still waiting to travel.

Advocates Admit Trump Refugee Level Likely for Remainder of FY2021, but…..

…..they expect Biden to be ready to roll with 125,000 impoverished third worlders moving to America permanently beginning on October first.

“It turned out there was even more damage done than we knew.”

(Having figured out their messaging on the mess they have made angering their friends, Sec. of State Blinken blames it on President Trump)

The Associated Press makes every effort to gloss over the recent controversy about the refugee ceiling that put Biden and his administration in the dog house with refugee resettlement industry “advocates.”

Biden and his Secretary of State Antony Blinken were at odds according to White House leakers. Blinken wanted to bring ’em in faster than Biden did.

They complain that the mean orange guy really screwed up the refugee program with demands for more robust vetting of refugees to weed out those with terror connections, or those lying about family members—a rampant form of fraud in refugee resettlement.  How dare he!

And, adding insult to injury, the nine contractors*** had to shrink their staffs during the Trump years because your tax dollars flowing into their coffers were cut by a few million bucks.

But all of that is going away thanks to Biden who recently dropped Trump’s plan for additional information to be required of ‘new Americans’ arriving as refugees and is going full-bore open borders—125,000 beginning October first.

From AP:

Refugees arriving in US unlikely to exceed cap set by Trump

SAN DIEGO (AP) — President Joe Biden, under political pressure, agreed to admit four times as many refugees this budget year as his predecessor did, but resettlement agencies concede the number actually allowed into the U.S. will be closer to the record-low cap of 15,000 set by former President Donald Trump.

Refugee advocates say they are grateful for the increase because it’s symbolically important to show the world the United States is back as a humanitarian leader at a time when the number of refugees worldwide is the highest since World War II. But they’re frustrated, too, because more refugees could have been admitted if Biden hadn’t dragged his feet.

Evangelicals led by Jenny Yang lobbying against Trump in 2017. https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/2/20/14580938/evangelicals-jenny-yang-refugees-gop-republican-immigrants

“About 10,000 to 15,000 is what we’re expecting,” said Jenny Yang of World Relief, adding that Biden’s inaction for months after taking office in January was “definitely problematic.”

“That delay meant not being able to process refugee applications for four months. We weren’t able to rebuild for four months, so it really was unfortunate,” Yang said.

As he looked to the midterm elections, supposedly Biden (rightly) feared that the public wouldn’t tolerate a huge refugee flow while the border was in crisis.

“To be clear: The asylum process at the southern border and the refugee process are completely separate immigration systems. Conflating the two constitutes caving to the politics of fear,” said Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

This is important, Blumenthal is right, do not conflate the US Refugee Admissions Program with the illegal aliens invading the southern border.

The 125,000 refugees proposed for FY2022 are in addition to the hundreds of thousands of supposed asylum seekers flooding into the country.

The AP continues…..

Weeks later, on May 3, Biden raised the cap.

So far this year only about 2,500 refugees have arrived, with less than five months left before the fiscal year ends on Sept. 30.

More than 35,000 refugees have been vetted and approved to come to the United States, but thousands were disqualified under the narrow eligibility criteria Trump established in October when he set the low cap.

Blumenthal wants more refugees for Connecticut.  Here he is in 2015 with the Director of CAIR CT arguing for LESS security screening for Syrian refugees. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2015/10/07/update-who-was-that-man-over-senator-blumenthals-left-shoulder/

[….]

Before the Trump administration’s drastic cuts, the United States had admitted more refugees each year than all other countries combined under a program now 41 years old.

It is Trump’s fault!

But a senior official familiar with Blinken’s thinking said it quickly became clear that the State Department offices responsible for refugee resettlement had been so gutted that they wouldn’t be able to process and absorb that number of refugees.

Biden’s got leakers….

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the matter, described the situation as “aspiration meeting reality” and said Blinken reluctantly concluded that 62,500 wouldn’t be possible in the short term.

“It turned out there was even more damage done than we knew,” Blinken told reporters this month.

The Trump bashers give short shrift to the China Virus as one explanation for the slowdown in their goals to change America as refugee travel was slowed worldwide.

Due to travel restrictions in and out of refugee processing sites worldwide, the U.S. suspended refugee arrivals from March 19 to July 29 of last year except for emergency cases. Only 11,800 refugees were admitted in the 2020 fiscal year, the lowest number in the history of the program.

[….]

The “sad truth” Biden warned when he finally set the target at 62,500 is that goal won’t be achieved.

Instead, the administration and advocates are working to fix the program by 2022 when Biden has promised to raise the ceiling to 125,000.

LOL! He dares not do otherwise now that he has experienced the wrath of the “advocates”—refugee placement contractors.

More here.

If Chairman Joe does admit 125,000 refugees in the coming fiscal year, it would be the highest admission number in the last 30 years.

Joe Biden Plans to Admit the Most Refugees in any One Year Since 1992

***In case you are new to RRW, here are all of the nine contractors that have monopolized all refugee distribution in the US for decades.

They worked to ‘elect’ Biden/Harris and lobby for open borders.  As taxpayers you pay them millions annually to change America by changing the people.

Two of the contractors, the USCCB and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service are also paid to find locations for the Unaccompanied Alien Children.

At this very moment they are all out scouting for new, fresh territory in which to place their refugee clients.  See Winchester, VA.

State Department Data Not Showing Large Increase in Refugees (yet!)

I’ve seen a couple of news reports lately mentioning that Joe Biden’s refugee numbers are picking up. But, will he admit 62,500 by September 30th?

So, I checked the little bit of data still available at the Refugee Processing Center and see that as of April 30th, he isn’t even up to Trump levels for Fiscal year 2021 (FY21 ends on September 30th, 4 and 1/2 months from now).

For new readers, the Refugee Processing Center, until the Fall of 2020, provided a treasure trove of information about refugees arriving in the US.

However, for some reason the Trump Administration took down most of the database and we are left with only scanty information that you can find on this page.

You can see how many refugees came from which countries and went to your state, but only for this fiscal year and only up until the end of the previous month.

We have admitted 2,334 refugees in the regular program from October 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021.

Top ‘welcoming’ states are:  California (355), Washington (210), Texas (186), New York (154) and North Carolina (100).

But, that doesn’t tell the whole story!

Afghans are coming in large numbers!

We admitted another 2,237 Special Immigrant Visa holders from Afghanistan (a few from Iraq are included in that number)!

That huge number includes a large percentage of dependents who are all treated to the same resettlement benefits regular refugees receive, and are “clients” of the nine federal refugee contractors.

Top Afghan SIV ‘welcoming’ states are California (828), Texas (484), Virginia (270), Washington (143) and Maryland (73).

Have a look at the monthly columns and see that the Trump Administration brought in higher numbers than Biden is admitting so far.

Biden: It is 62,500 Refugees Again, Maybe!

Will your town be targeted?

If you are feeling whiplash over the Biden teams’ Refugee Admission plans, join the crowd.

I don’t have the time or energy to go back over the flip-flop-flipping the White House has been doing over the last few months on the decision to raise, not raise, and now raise the refugee ceiling from the level President Trump had set for Fiscal Year 2021 which ends on September 30, 2021—a mere 5 months away.

The No Borders wing of the Democrat Party went crazy when for a brief few hours on April 16th, Biden said he would leave the refugee ceiling at the Trump-set level. That was Biden’s grievous error! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2021/04/17/biden-harris-make-a-hash-of-refugee-plan-infuriate-their-friends/

But, for new readers here is one recent post about the mess the administration stepped in when they dared to leave the ceiling/cap for refugee admissions for the remainder of the year at the Trump level—15,000.

Looks like the administration, in its latest iteration, has listened to refugee contractor Mark Hetfield who told the Biden team to “set the damn cap.”

He explained it is a cap and likely won’t be reached, but that Biden/Harris must send their virtue signal around the world!

It was heard loud and clear yesterday by the United Nations which chooses most refugees admitted to the US and applauded the decision.

Somalis who live in one of the world’s largest UN refugee camps—Dadaab in Kenya—will soon be arriving in Anytown, USA. Trump had slowed the movement of certain groups of refugees to America.

Here is what CBS reported on the new Biden plan.

Biden increases refugee cap to 62,500 after backlash

President Biden has increased the refugee admissions cap to 62,500 for the current fiscal year, after keeping the historically low Trump-era cap of 15,000. But Mr. Biden also admitted in a statement on Monday that the administration will not reach that cap this year.

The Biden administration faced intense backlash from liberals, immigration advocacy groups and religious groups alike after announcing last month that they would keep the Trump-era level of 15,000 refugees for the time being, despite an earlier pledge to quadruple admissions of immigrants escaping war and violence. The White House said Monday that they would increase the cap this month.

“Today, I am revising the United States’ annual refugee admissions cap to 62,500 for this fiscal year,” the president said in a statement. “This erases the historically low number set by the previous administration of 15,000, which did not reflect America’s values as a nation that welcomes and supports refugees. The new admissions cap will also reinforce efforts that are already underway to expand the United States’ capacity to admit refugees, so that we can reach the goal of 125,000 refugee admissions that I intend to set for the coming fiscal year.”

We are raising the ceiling just for show and to get the crazed Leftwing Refugee Contractors*** off our backs!

But Mr. Biden also said in his statement that the U.S. will not reach 62,500 admissions and a cap is just that — a ceiling.

“The sad truth is that we will not achieve 62,500 admissions this year,” the president said in his statement. “We are working quickly to undo the damage of the last four years. It will take some time, but that work is already underway.

Have you noticed that not only on the refugee admissions, but with the southern border that they have decided on the perfect propaganda message to cover their screw-ups.  Blame it all on Trump!

Now what?

Based on comments from readers, I see that many of you still don’t know that the invaders at the southern border are not refugees that will arrive under the legal refugee admissions ceiling. Don’t worry too much about that for the moment.

Biden/Harris are out scouting for new locations to place either group of migrants (aka new Democrat voters).

Just know that no one in Washington is going to help you if your town/city/county is going to be a relocation site for legal refugees or illegal aliens.   See my post about Winchester, Virginia

A reader yesterday asked me how she could find out if she lived in a target town?  I have no way of finding out….However!

Pick up the phone!

I told her she must call her local elected officials at the city or county level and ask them if they have been alerted by the federal government or a federal resettlement contractor if they have been targeted.

Get other like-minded people to do the same, the more the better!  And, if the answer is yes, yours is now a target town, you will have to get to work organizing locally against it.

I know that isn’t what you want to hear, but that frankly is all there is—you making the most political noise you can make against Biden and the Democrats working to change America by changing the people.

For four years, we all sat back and let Trump take care of us.  He did a mostly good job, but here we are—back to square one—local organizing by hard working citizen activists asking local elected officials:

Don’t we have an obligation to care for our own poor and homeless first?
