Somali and Rohingya Muslims Celebrate World Refugee Day in Greeley, Colorado

The “crowd?” The purpose of UN designated World Refugee Day events, like this one in Greeley, is to create a positive media spin, to generate  warm and fuzzy feelings as the Open Borders Left changes America by changing the people.

It wasn’t exactly a crowd in attendance at Greeley’s celebration of World Refugee Day on June 20th, and it really wouldn’t be worth writing about except for the fact that back in 2008 I created an entire category here at RRW to archive all of the news and controversy coming out of Greeley as the Somalis flowed in to work at massive meatpacking plants located in the area.

Meatpackers wanted the cheap refugee labor so desperately that they caved to demands for religious accommodation at many plants throughout the West and the Midwest.

I began following the controversy in my first year (2007) of writing this blog and today begins my 15th year.  Am I nuts?

There are 9,656 posts here at RRW, which I began publishing with my friend Judy in July of 2007. I surely would have hit the 10,000 mark if I hadn’t been deplatformed for awhile in 2019.

I can’t say I’ve accomplished much other than creating a massive archive.

https://vridar.org/2016/09/01/the-founder-of-islamist-extremism-and-terrorism/

My category entitled ‘Greeley/Swift/Somali controversy has 97 posts in it.  Anyone interested in writing a book about how giant globalist meat companies have changed America have their research done for them!

One little nugget I learned when I started writing about Greeley, which I visited in my 2016 travels to see meatpacking towns which experienced demographic change, was that Greeley has the dubious distinction of being considered the birthplace of Al Qaeda.

What!!!!

See for yourself!

Legacy of Islamic revolutionary’s hate haunts Greeley

I wrote about Greeley’s dubious role here in 2008:

Muslims in Greeley today and that city’s role in the birth of Al Qaeda

Enough of my trip down memory lane.

Here is the news about World Refugee Day with its focus on Somali refugee Abdi Adan who doesn’t work in a slaughter plant but works for the Lutherans to supply more Somali workers for globalist meatpackers in Colorado.

By the way, they are getting jazzed everywhere throughout the West as Biden promises 125,000 refugees from Asia, Africa and the Middle East will be admitted beginning in October.  See cheap labor needed in Idaho!

For new readers this is in addition to the millions flowing in illegally now.

From the Greeley Tribune:

Greeley community celebrates World Refugee Day with annual event at Delta Park

A day dedicated to inclusivity, diversity and celebration

A Somali man assisted by Lutheran Family Services in his resettlement to Greeley now has a job with the agency managing other refugees’ cases.

Abdi Adan was one of several refugees who shared their stories Sunday at the annual World Refugee Day Celebration at Delta Park in Greeley. Adan spoke of past hardships, spending 18 years in refugee camps in Kenya before moving to the United States with his family. His children were awarded citizenship in 2019.

Adan praised Lutheran Family Services for helping him resettle to the United States.

“Finally, I am very happy to be part of the LFS team who are dedicated to serve refugees,” Adan said Sunday. “My message to all refugees over the world, is to not give up hope no matter how long you struggle in refugee camps and just wait your chance for a better life.”

World Refugee Day is meant to make sure refugees know the community wants them, supports them and is a welcoming place for all different types of people, according to Immigrant and Refugee Center Executive Director Lisa Taylor.

The Greeley Tribune reports that about 50 people were in attendance to demonstrate that Greeley was “welcoming,” but one wonders where were the other 100,000 or so residents of the city.

And, by the way, it is worth mentioning the list of organizations putting on the party whose purpose was to continue to normalize the idea of changing the American heartland with the importation of diverse, and in this case, Muslim refugees.

Different organizations from the community — The Immigrant and Refugee Center, Lutheran Family Services, Soccer Without Borders, Trust For Public Land, the city of Greeley and High Plains Library District — collaborated to provide a memorable experience for attendees.

What the heck does the Trust for Public Land have to do with this?  They are a radical leftwing environmental group I know from my days of fighting to keep private lands out of the hands of the federal government.

Check out the pictures at the Greeley Tribune.

Sure looks like the “crowd” was mostly the volunteers for the groups putting on the event, but of course the newspaper is never going to tell you that!

Meat Giant JBS Closes Greeley, CO Plant Due to Chinese Virus Outbreak

That was last week’s news in the Denver Post.  The Brazilian-owned plant was forced to close as 277 employees tested positive for the Chinese virus.

According to the Post, the closure was necessary earlier this month to avoid overwhelming local health care services.

State and local health officials in a Friday letter warned JBS CEO Andre Nogueira of the virus’ rapid spread among employees, particularly those who work the first shift at the plant, and said continued exponential spread would “quickly overwhelm” medical resources in Greeley and the surrounding communities.

The JBS slaughter house at Greeley, Colorado has played a large role over the years on the pages of RRW.

JBS US headquarters are in Greeley. This is a photo I took when I traveled through the Midwest and West in 2016 mostly to have a look at a few meatpacking towns.

In fact, it is through the controversy surrounding refugee (mostly Somali) workers there in 2008 that I became interested in the concept of foreign-owned meatpackers (I call BIG MEAT) encouraging the admission of cheap legal immigrant labor—refugees—which then changes the character of American towns.

Not to mention the fact that US taxpayers subsidize those low wage workers.

I had devoted an entire category I labeled Greeley, Swift, Somali controversy.  See it here.  Posts go back to 2008!

But problems for the beef giant are bigger than a few facility closings…..

We can thank the COVID-19 situation for helping to expose the globalist fat cats that own these plants—like the Brazilian brothers featured in the New York Post on Saturday.  Hat tip: Judy.

And, don’t miss my post about Chinese-owned Smithfield Foods and how the leftwing media (and refugee contractors!) have for years supported the movement of migrants to the US to work these kinds of jobs.

Corrupt billionaire brothers’ meat plants are riddled with coronavirus

The world’s largest meat-processing giant was forced to shut down some of its US plants as more than 100 of its workers tested positive for COVID-19 last week, but the pandemic may be the least of its problems.

The Brazilian billionaire brothers — one of whom owned a Manhattan penthouse — controlling the massive meat producer JBS, which slaughters 13 million animals a day and has revenues of $50 billion a year, have been linked to high-level government corruption that has rocked the South American country.

Joesley (left) and Wesley Batista are the controlling shareholders of two prominent U.S. companies, JBS USA and Pilgrim’s Pride. https://foxwilmington.com/politics/tainted-beef-how-the-meat-you-buy-could-be-supporting-venezuelas-socialist-regime/

The Batistas’ company is also being probed in America now for bribery, and has been accused of price-gouging during the COVID-19 crisis. The New York attorney general, meanwhile, has been asked to look at the company as “an imminent threat” before it goes public on Wall Street.

[….]

After admitting to bribing nearly 2,000 elected officials in Brazil in order to secure government funding to fuel their company’s US expansion a few years ago, Joesley and Wesley Batista were slapped with more than $3.2 billion in fines in 2017, the highest in the country’s history.

Now JBS’ parent company, J&F Investimentos, is reportedly the subject of US Justice Department and Securities and Exchange Commission investigations for alleged bribery here. Last year, Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Bob Menendez (D-NJ) urged the federal government to investigate the beef conglomerate and its alleged dealings with the Venezuelan government after the company developed business ties with the administration of President Nicolas Maduro. The US has levied sanctions against the Venezuelan leader.

Last week, US legislators, including Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), renewed calls for the federal government to investigate alleged price-fixing by JBS and other big beef producers during the pandemic. According to Grassley, big meat processors are using the pandemic to “gouge” US cattle producers.

[….]

Last week, JBS, which sells beef and chicken under its Pilgrim’s Pride and Swift labels, said it was closing a packing plant in Greeley, Colorado, where four workers died from the coronavirus, including longtime plant employee Saul Sanchez, 78. Sanchez, a father of six, had worked for more than 30 years at the plant. A daughter, Beatriz Rangel, said Sanchez was willing to work at the plant even during the outbreak because he trusted his employer.

There is much more here.

We will be watching to see if the President follows through on his tweet last night, here.

LOL! Is he listening to my man Jeff?

Bloomberg: Trump's refugee ceiling of 50,000 could hurt BIG MEAT

And, check out who admits that Meatpackers have been drivers behind the importation of cheap immigrant labor, specifically refugees!
Thanks to reader Deena for spotting this!

Big Meat Braces for a Refugee Shortage

Reporters Lauren Etter and Shruti Singh at Bloomberg (emphasis below is mine):

jbs-greeley
I took this photo of JBS headquarters in Greeley this past summer on my 6,000 mile tour of refugee-overloaded towns. JBS is a Brazilian owned company benefiting from cheap refugee labor. Our tax dollars (welfare) subsidize those wages, so our meat is not cheap!

Word of President Trump’s executive order barring the entry of international refugees shocked Fort Morgan, a town of 11,000 on the snowy plains of Colorado, some 80 miles northeast of Denver. Many of the workers at a Cargill Meat Solutions plant that’s the town’s largest employer emigrated from Somalia and Myanmar and had been waiting months, if not years, for relatives to join them. Now they’re afraid that reunion might never happen. As a result, the plant in Fort Morgan and other meatpacking plants in the U.S. that have dozens of openings may have to scramble to find a new labor pool.

[….]

Trump’s decision to sharply curtail the number of refugees admitted into the U.S. may lead Big Meat to recalibrate its recruitment practices.

While a federal court has temporarily suspended the administration’s four-month ban on new arrivals, not affected is Trump’s plan to slash refugee admissions from 110,000 to 50,000 in the current fiscal year.

lavinia-limon

Refugees have been a fixture within the meat processing workforce since 2006, when immigration officials under President George W. Bush raided plants in several states, leading to the arrest of about 1,300 undocumented workers. Companies “realized that their business model of hiring undocumented people was causing problems for them,” says Lavinia Limón, chief executive officer of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, a resettlement organization. “So they moved to the refugee population.”

More here.  I’m quoted saying that maybe it’s time BIG MEAT paid higher wages and hired American workers!
Ms. Limon must have forgotten that it was Bill Clinton in the mid-1990’s who first made Bosnian refugee labor available to his meatpacking pals (remember those cattle futures!) in Iowa, see here.
Ms. Limon was his Director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement at the time! How could she have forgotten!

“And IBP’s good fortune didn’t end there,” Limbacher continues, “turns out the Clinton administration’s Bosnian refugee resettlement efforts also helped to keep labor costs down. Since 1995, for instance, the town of Waterloo, Iowa — population 65,000 – has been swamped with 6,000 Bosnian refugees, many of whom wound up working for the No. 1 local employer, IBP.”

(Iowa Beef was ultimately absorbed by Tyson Foods).

If you missed my post this morning where I argue that Trump could still stop most of the flow from terror hotspots by further reducing the refugee ceiling for this year from 50,000 to 35,000 (we are at over 33,000 now), be sure to have a look.

US Refugee law must be reformed and curtailing the program might serve as an incentive for Congress to get off the dime and do it!  If threats of terrorism can’t move them, maybe threats in a decline in cheap immigrant labor for big global corporations and the Chamber of Commerce might.

US Refugee Admissions Program is secretive, elected officials are not given information

This is a subject we have talked about many times on these pages and it appears here again in a short story about the Obama Syrian refugee resettlement plan at Breitbart.

Greeley Co
I’ve been fascinated with the Somali Muslim colonization of Greeley, CO for years. So when I saw that a county commissioner there recently complained about the refugee program, I was reminded of this post I wrote almost two years ago: https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2014/04/21/if-sayyid-qutb-could-see-greeley-now/

Warner Todd Huston begins:

President Barack Obama has been quietly pushing new plans to bring thousands of additional Syrian refugees into the country, despite the concerns of state and county officials and the outrages committed by welfare-dependent migrants in Europe.

But, before I get to the important part, we posted the chart mentioned here last night (perhaps Breitbart is the original source of the chart?) about which cities received refugees in FY2015.
Huston says this:

A chart made earlier this year with information culled from the Refugee Processing Center, an agency of the U.S. Department of State, shows where Syrian refugees have already been placed in the U.S.

That is not accurate.  It is a listing of all resettled refugees from all countries for FY2015. Syrians were only a tiny fraction.

Now this is the part of the Breitbart story that caught my eye!

A Greeley, CO county commissioner says they are not informed of arriving refugees! However, federal law says local governments must be consulted!  Yet, this is one of the most common complaints we hear—local elected officials and citizens generally are completely left out of the information loop.  Why? Because the contractors know that if they were completely open about what they are doing, people would object!

A lack of communication on the placement of migrants also exists. In Greeley, Colorado, Weld County Commissioner Sean Conway recently noted, “Many times we don’t even know that relocation is taking place until it’s going on.”

Visit this handy list and see that it is Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains (formerly ‘of Colorado’) that is resettling refugees in Greeley. I must say that the Lutherans are turning out to be among the most egregiously secretive of the federal contractors when it comes to being open and honest with local communities.
In fact it was this same agency that had hoped to open a new office in Casper, Wyoming whose leaders complained that the word got out to the public there prematurely before they could get their propaganda machine in place.  See post here almost two years ago.
Note to Commissioner Conway!
You have a right to something the contractors call an “R &P Abstract.”  We have written about this important planning document on many previous occasions.  So call up the Greeley office of Lutheran Family Services and demand the abstract for FY 2016.
It will tell you how many refugees they plan to drop off in Weld County this year and will list all the welfare/medical/educational goodies you have available in your community for the “new Americans.”
For new readers we have written extensively on Greeley, Somalis and meatpacking. Click here for years of background posts.  The Lutherans have been supplying local meatpackers with cheap immigrant laborers for years.
Is there a ‘Pocket of Resistance’ forming in Greeley?  I would like to know!

If Sayyid Qutb could see Greeley now!

Did you know that one of the founders of Al-Qaeda spent six months in Greeley, CO in the late 1940’s early 50’s and his view of decadent Americans gyrating with men and women’s bodies touching at a protestant church dance inspired his hatred for America and his subsequent work in designing a  manifesto of sorts which became the seminal work and inspiration behind militant Islam which to this day is terrorizing the world?

Here is a thoroughly informative article by Daniel Brogan which gives us the background.

Fifty-four years ago [now 65 years ago–ed], an Egyptian scholar arrived at the Colorado State College of Education in Greeley. He stayed for six months, sat in on a few classes, and did his best to sample day-to-day life in post-war America. When he left, he was quickly forgotten by the tiny community.

But Sayyid Qutb didn’t forget Greeley.

Time passed and the world changed. Colorado State College became the University of Northern Colorado and Greeley grew like the rest of the state. Qutb (pronounced KUH-tahb) returned to Egypt, where he became the foremost Islamic thinker of his time.

His articles and books were scholarly but passionate examinations of history, politics, and religion. He immersed himself in the Koran, compared it to the world around him, and came to a grave conclusion. Though the modern, liberal societies of the West preached freedom of religion, in truth, they undermined it. Religion and modernity, he concluded, could not coexist.

Qutb saw salvation in Islam, a religion that he believed offered true freedom. But for Islam to survive, a jihad would have to be fought to rid society of the West’s secular ways. Qutb envisioned an Islamic society ruled by Islamic law.

This was subversive stuff, even in the Middle East, and it wasn’t long before Qutb was thrown into prison, where he would stay for more than 10 years. Not surprisingly, prison only hardened his views. Qutb rewrote many of his earlier books and produced new ones at an astonishing pace, including a 30-volume masterwork entitled In the Shade of the Qur’an.

And through it all – right up until the day in 1966 when he was executed – Qutb remembered Greeley. What he had seen in those few months stayed with him through the decades and filled him with fear, disgust, and contempt. What he saw in Greeley made him hate America.

The story doesn’t end on the Egyptian gallows. In death, Qutb’s work became even more influential. Milestones, his best-known book, has been published in nearly 2,000 editions, and though many of his books have been banned in Egypt and other moderate Arab states, millions continue to illicitly circulate throughout the Middle East and over the Internet.

His writings have become both the inspiration and the blueprint for the fundamentalist jihad that now engulfs the world. Qutb’s work is to militant Islam what Das Kapital was to communism or Mein Kampf was to the Nazis. In American terms, he is Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, and Thomas Paine, all rolled into one. His disciples include Anwar Sadat’s assassins, and Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, the Egyptian cleric convicted in 1995 of plotting to blow up several New York landmarks. They include militant groups like Hamas and Islamic Jihad. And they include a Saudi militant named Osama bin Laden.

Read it all—it is fascinating!  And, I doubt many Greeley residents or students at the University of Northern Colorado have a clue about the role their quiet American town played in world history.

Asad Abdi, the founder and co-executive director of the Global Refugee Center, instructs refugee role-playing.

Skip to April 2014 and we have Somali Muslim refugees instructing refugee role-playing. A propaganda stunt?

Greeley, CO became a US State Department “preferred” resettlement site a few years ago when Somali refugees were needed as laborers at local meatpacking plants.

We have an extensive archive on the controversy that erupted over demands regarding prayer times in the workplace, here (Greeley/Swift/Somali controversy) which is one way Muslims have begun to successfully change America (Al-Hijra!).  Qutb would be proud!

Last week, the Global Refugee Center, which was born out of the 2008 protests by Somali refugees in Greeley, participated in this propaganda stunt to continue to soften-up (welcoming!) Greeley for more refugees that are on the way.

From the Greeley Tribune (Hat tip: Joanne):

Nearly 40 people from around Weld County experienced the loss of family, limbs and property on Tuesday morning.

The experience was part of “A Walk in Their Shoes,” a refugee experience simulation hosted by United Way of Weld County at the Greeley-Evans School District 6 administrative building.

Qutb would be so pleased.  Changing America one refugee, one city, one state at a time!

I’m wondering, do they have a statue of Sayyid Qutb at the University of Northern Colorado?  Not yet?
