This is a story from last week that I never got around to posting and now this morning don’t have time to do it justice. Regular readers know that Amarillo has had its share of problems with refugees, go here, for all of that news. We don’t know whether the meat-cleaver man who attacked an apartment door with the meat cleaver, broke a window and cut phone lines of complete strangers is a refugee, but his resettlement agency would know for sure. I’m guessing he is Burmese.
AMARILLO, TEXAS — The man accused of aggravated assault on a police officer early Sunday morning has been arrested.
Amarillo police said he also tried to break into an apartment before resisting arrest. He was armed with a meat cleaver, police said.
Forty-one-year-old Naisikenyan Pha is now facing charges of Attempted Burglary of a Habitation, Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant and Resisting Arrest.
It was at about 2 a.m., Sunday when officers were called to the 800-block of North Evergreen Street on the report of a burglary in process.
The resident told police that a man who had a knife was trying to get inside the apartment. Three children were inside the apartment.
The first responding officer saw a man crouched in the yard, repeatedly and aggressively striking the ground with a meat cleaver, police said. The man was asked stop but police said the man did not comply.
After repeatedly being asked to stop, police said the man stood up and started walking toward the officer with a meat cleaver in his hand at chest level.
Two attempts to bring him down with a stun gun failed before several officers forced him to the ground. It is believed that “his behavior was consistent with heavy narcotics use.”
Poor Amarillo! No wonder it is becoming a ‘Pocket of Resistance’ to more refugee resettlement.
I haven’t been posting food stamp trafficking stories lately (I am still hoping someone will start a blog devoted entirely to immigrants scamming our welfare system), but ‘Pungentpeppers,’ knowing I’ll be in St. Louis next week, thought it would be fun to find stories from there involving, in this case, an Iraqi criminal, most likely a refugee.

WE have been bringing in Iraqis for probably close to 20 years, but are now admitting a whopping just short of 20,000 a year under the refugee program and 3/4 of them are Muslims.
It was only last week that we learned that a federal resettlement contractor plans to help make the St. Louis area the most highly diversified area in the country by 2020.
When your city becomes a “welcoming” city for refugees and other immigrants, the welfare scammers will follow.
ST. LOUIS • The owner of a St. Louis grocery store and bakery was sentenced in federal court here Wednesday to 15 months in federal prison for food stamp fraud.
Jalil Al-Hanoosh, 53, of St. Louis, bought food stamps from customers of his Babylon Grocery & Bakery at a discounted rate, then redeemed them for full price from the government, prosecutors said. He also allowed customers to use the stamps, formally known as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, for unauthorized purchases such as cigarettes, phones, rugs and other non-food items, they said.
The grocery is located at 3803 Meramec Street.
Prosecutors said that the the grocery redeemed about $148,000 in illegal benefits from January 2008-May 2012. The benefits are supposed to go towards keeping lower income individuals and families from going hungry.
Al-Hanoosh pleaded guilty in October to one count of wire fraud and two felony of food stamp fraud.

Kuwait’s Gruesome Gift to Britain: Hajji Wannabe, with Four Wives, Murdered One While Koran Played
It isn’t just in London where the Brits have a problem with Islamic cultural ways.
Thahi Harroba Manaa, 37, a refugee from Kuwait, is on trial in Sheffield, England, for the gruesome murder of his second wife, Sara Al Shourefi, 28, the mother of four of his children. During the 105-minute attack – that started over a disagreement about about a wooden shelf – Manaa inflicted 270 bodily injuries on Sara with a variety of weapons including two metal bars, a knife, and an electric drill which he used to puncture her brain through her eye socket.
The murderer may have also tried to cut off her head: Sara’s neck had been cut across with the knife. Perhaps the knife was too small or its blade too dull to finish the beheading.
Two of their children were in a separate area of the house – and must have heard their mother being tortured to death. Also present was the murderer’s mother. She did nothing to stop the attack, nor did she telephone for help during Sara’s terrible ordeal.
The Koran Played Loudly While Sara Was Being Murdered; Killer Interrupted His Torture to Plan a Hajj to Mecca
During the nearly two-hour long torture of Sara, neighbors reported they heard angry shouting and the Koran playing at full blast. Evidently, Manaa fully expected his wife would die at his hands: an estimated 17 minutes into the attack, he called his travel agent to follow up on prior arrangements to travel to Mecca for the Hajj. He told the agent he wanted his papers made ready that same day. Then he resumed the deadly torture that lasted well over an additional hour.
Once poor Sara suffered through her last and final breath, Manaa called the travel agent again to verify that his travel document was finished and waiting for him. He also telephoned his sister to arrange for childcare.
Manaa then summoned his nephew by telephone and asked his help to put Sara’s body in a cupboard under the stairs. The nephew, in horror, fled the house and rang a friend who notified police.
Does Four Wives a Refugee Make?
What brought the murderer to Britain? Manaa, while he was still living in Kuwait, may have seen in Britain an answer to financial problems stemming from supporting several wives and a growing family. His first wife was one of Sara’s cousins. She failed to become pregnant, so he married Sara in 2004. When Sara did not become pregnant immediately, he married a third wife named Kholoud. Sara and Kholoud both became pregnant. Later, he married his fourth wife, Nadia. The stress of polygamous family life may have prompted him to take drastic action.

By 2010, around the time Sara gave birth to her third child, Manaa moved to Britain and obtained permission to stay. Sara arrived in the U.K. the following year, and gave birth to her fourth child. [It is not clear what happened to wives Nadia and Kholoud, or the first wife, or the other offspring.] Presumably, the immigrant family became entitled to British taxpayer-paid benefits, thus relieving financial stress on the man with multiple wives.
Britons must be wondering why their government allows people who practice harmful foreign customs, such as polygamy, to enter their country. The answer lies in the magic word “refugee”.
Manaa came to Britain from Kuwait where he had been living as a “Bidun” – a stateless person.*** Not to be confused with nomadic Bedouin, the “Bidun” (also “Bidoon” or “Bidoun”) reside in Middle Eastern countries without the benefit of citizenship. “Bidun” means “without”; it is shorthand for “without citizenship”. Often Bidun families have lived in countries for generations, but because their illiterate ancestors failed to register when citizenship rolls were taken decades ago, these descendants are denied citizen status. Perhaps eventually DNA testing could establish lineage and rights to citizenship. Meanwhile, some of the “Bidun” take advantage of their unusual situation to apply for refugee status in Western countries where – like this Kuwaiti – they can cause trouble and mayhem.
Isolated, Knowing No English, Without Family, Sara’s Situation Was Dire
Manaa has pleaded guilty to manslaughter but denies murder. The spin of his defense is that he suffers from diminished mental capacity that drives his extreme jealousy, paranoia, and abusive behavior. While she was alive, Manaa did not allow Sara to have a telephone, leave the house on her own, or to learn English. Completely isolated in Britain, she was only permitted to contact her sister in the U.K. or her family living abroad, through her mother-in-law – the same woman who refused to summon help while she was being brutally murdered.
Now Sheffield is gripped by the murder case. Will the mother of the murderer face charges? Can one blame certain religious practices? Why did no one do anything about the ongoing abuse in that house? Was the crime the result of the wrong kind of immigration? The trial continues.
*** Editor’s note: The UN High Commissioner for Refugees has, in the last year, really been pushing this notion of “statelessness” and demanding that countries resettle those with that label. It will be one of the reasons for moving many Rohingya Muslims from Burma/Bangladesh around the world.
This must be Somalis-gone-wild week or something! ‘Pungentpeppers’ just spotted this story from a few weeks ago about armed “Kenyans” from Buffalo invading the home of “Africans” in Erie. By the sound of the names, most of those involved appear to be Somalis.
Both Erie, PA and Buffalo, NY are top resettlement sites for African (and other) refugees. Both are US State Department preferred communities, here.
Interesting that these invaders also used the automobile ramming technique we just heard about in Amarillo (”where subtle aspects of far-away cultures have taken root”).

Six people from Buffalo, New York are sitting in the Erie County jail after police say they invaded a home on Erie’s east side.
According to Erie police, at around 9:45 p.m. Friday, a group of people invaded a home in the 900 block on East 11th Street.
“When they were first banging on the doors, I didn’t know who it was,” said Kaltuma Hassan, who lives at the home. “I was just figuring it was my brothers and then my parents were screaming, ‘who is it?’
Police said two armed men entered the home, dragged Hassan outside and started beating her.
“One of the boys was pointing a gun at me so I’m like, ‘Ok, he’s gonna shoot me.’ And I didn’t know and then the other boy kicked me and he had steel boots on and he just kicked me and I just blacked out,” she said.
Erie police officer Nick Bernatowicz was on the scene within a minute. He found a white van crashed into the home, and more than dozen people outside, several were armed with guns. When Bernatowicz drew his gun, police said he saw several people run behind the van. Bernatowicz heard a gun shot and took cover. As Bernatowicz waited for backup, the suspects took off in the van down East 11th Street.
“They thought there was like a road down there, so they came and stopped in the middle of the street and that’s when the cops came after them,” said Marianne Hassan, who also lives in the home.
The suspects apparently put the van in reverse, trying to run the officer over, and then took off running. Police said Bernatowicz jumped in the van and put it in park. Police arrested five men and one woman. The suspects are from Buffalo, New York, but are native to Kenya. Police believe the home invasion stems from a prior dispute.
“A lot of Africans, they have drama and drama always go on,” said Kaltuma. “So they think the only way to settle it, is to kill somebody or fight somebody.” [Is this their contribution to cultural diversity?—ed]
The Hassan family said without the quick response from police, they wouldn’t be alive to tell their story. [Thanks to the police no one was killed.—ed]
“I was pretty surprised and amazed that they came quickly,” said Maryanne. “Because, If they didn’t come, they would still be here shooting. Like, they we’re trying to kill all of us.” The suspects, Yassin Warsame, 18; Mohammed Salad Osman, 19; Hawa Hassan, 18; Muia Jumle, 19; Adbi Ibrihim, 19; and David Toe, 24, are charged with burglary, terroristic threats, criminal trespass, simple assault, unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct. Border patrol was called in to confirm the suspects’ identities. Police said they could be deported back to Kenya.
The US receives a large number of Somali “refugees” from Kenya (the UN picks them for us!) and there is no way Kenya is going to take these trouble-makers back—-they are our problem now! We processed 654 “refugees” through Kenya in only the first three months of this fiscal year (Oct. 1, 2014-Dec. 31, 2014), however, keep in mind we do not take “Kenyan” refugees unless their name is Obama (as in Aunt Zeituni and Uncle Omar).

Gee, no kidding! Wait until you read the latest on the Somali refugee youth who is charged with burning down four apartment buildings in Lewiston nearly two years ago. He could end up walking free!

I laughed when I saw the Sun Journal headline which said he was a “moderate risk” to the community if released, but that was for setting fires. What else is he capable of? Hat tip: ‘Pungentpeppers.’ (Emphasis below is mine)
LEWISTON — Abdi Ibrahim is capable of “criminal thinking” and is considered a moderate risk to “act out” using fire if released from the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland.
Ibrahim, who is facing four felony counts of arson in connection with fires that burned four apartment buildings and a garage on Bartlett and Pierce streets in Lewiston on May 3, 2013, is considered a higher behavioral and social risk to the community because of a history of poor social skills and chronic behavior problems in multiple settings, including assaulting others and running away.
And even though he has hidden cigarette lighters in his bedroom and twice been found smoking since he was placed in state custody, a state forensic examination found no specific indication he has “any fascination with fire as a means of acting out.”
Now, here is that interpreter issue again. Remember “welcoming” communities, it is your responsibility to find and pay for interpreters in every case involving an immigrant (that means in school discipline situations, for health care issues, and for the criminal justice system, among others).
Ibrahim will appear in 8th District Court on the morning of Jan. 12 to argue that his arson confession to police be suppressed because an interpreter did not translate his Miranda warning correctly.
Ibrahim was born in Africa and spent his early years living in a refugee center in Kenya before his family emigrated to the United States. They first settled in Baltimore, Md., moving to Lewiston when Ibrahim was 6 or 7 years old. (Hey, look at this—Baltimore dodged this bullet!—ed).
The law requires a minor to have parental consent or have a parent present during a police interview, but according to Ibrahim’s attorney, Jeffrey Dolley, Ibrahim’s mother, Marian Ibrahim — who is Somali and not fluent in English — did not have an adequate understanding of the procedure for that interview because the Miranda warning wasn’t translated to her or her son correctly. As a result, her consent was never “given.”
According to court records, Ibrahim was interviewed at the Lewiston Police Department, where he waived his Miranda rights, including his right to remain silent, while his mother was assisted by an interpreter over the phone.
Ibrahim, who is now 14 years old, was 12 at the time of his taped confession.
According to court records, Dolley learned the Miranda warning was incorrectly translated after he had a language expert listen to the audio recording of the police interview.
During that interview, after initially denying he was involved, Ibrahim confessed to setting a fire at the back of a three-bay garage behind an apartment building at 149 Bartlett St. by lighting a cigarette and paper with a lighter, using gasoline as an accelerant.
The teen was initially found not competent to stand trial and the case was suspended while he received emotional and behavioral counseling in residential care at Sweetser Children Services in Saco. In August, the court found him competent to stand trial, and he was transferred to Long Creek Youth Development Center.
At the same time and in preparation for trial, the court ordered the state’s Department of Health and Human Services to conduct a risk assessment of Ibrahim’s behavior, including his likelihood to start fires.
Read it all. The state believes he needs 24-hour supervision and the residential care facility in which he was initially placed, and which did the evaluation, is incapable of doing that. His parents think he is fine without that supervision.
The assessment said he was only at a “moderate risk” for setting fires if released in the community, but you need to go read the almost unbelievable description of the charming family he would return to.
Think about it, this kid could walk free over a technicality!
