And, Somalia, the “role model,” has been doing it for THIRTY YEARS!
This then begs the question—why has the US admitted tens of thousands of Somali ‘refugees’ to the US (at great expense to taxpayers) who presumably said they feared to live in their home country and had run off to Kenya and elsewhere around the world looking for a UN ticket to America?
MOGADISHU, SOMALIA – Three decades of violence have left 2.9 million of Somalia’s citizens internally displaced, but the country is also home to 25,000 refugees, including 6,800 Yemenis and over 700 Syrians.
Faith Kasina of the U.N.’s refugee agency, UNHCR, has praised Somalia’s open-door policy for refugees, which allows them to move freely and work, using their skills without the need of a permit.
“Somalia had its own challenges over the years, but we must applaud this country and government because they have maintained an open-door policy for refugees for the past 30 years despite challenges they have been facing,” Kasina said. “We know that refugees are now able to live among local communities in urban areas and that they can also move around freely in the country.”
Ifrah Salah Abdalla is among millions of Yemenis who have been displaced from their homes following the war between the Houthis and the Saudi-backed government. She arrived in Mogadishu six years ago and balances her time as an information technology student and a part-time cashier to support her family.
She said that when she arrived in Somalia, she didn’t face many challenges because Somali citizens stood by the Yemenis and openly welcomed them, both young and old, with the help of the UNHCR.
She added that the relevant government refugee agencies had been very supportive in business initiatives, such as opening restaurants and clinics equally to refugees and locals.
Ishak Abdullahi Elmi lived in Syria as a Somali refugee from 1996 to 2000. He is now among candidates vying for a seat as a member of federal parliament in upcoming Somali elections.

Analysts say that as other nations close their camps, Somalia is becoming a role model in implementing U.N. conventions by welcoming refugees.
Therefore it should be clear to all of us that America need not take one more Somali fake refugee!
As one of my faithful readers reminded me, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised by the UN’s praise of Muslim Somalia.
In 2009, the United Nations told us that it is in fact Sharia Law (Islam) that is the real historic source for a tradition of charity toward refugees, toward welcoming the stranger (not Christianity!).

A political candidate in Washington once threatened to blow up a school bus full of children, and when the students attempted to flee the potentially deadly situation she called the kids “white cowards,” according to court documents.
Ubax Gardheere is running for the King County Council in the Seattle area. Gardheere is the director of the Equitable Development Division in Seattle’s Office of Planning and Community Development, which works with organizations on “anti-displacement efforts in high displacement risk neighborhoods, with a continued emphasis on serving BIPOC communities that have been targeted by systemic and institutional racism.”
Gardheere labels herself as a community organizer “focused on policy and systemic healing.” Gardheere, who calls herself a “bureactivist,” says she has “extensive experience in social justice and transformative practices.”

On Jan. 12, 2010, Gardheere allegedly boarded a school bus while it was transporting children to the Chinook Middle School. “Gardheere demanded the driver tell his dispatcher ‘that a national security incident was going on,'” according to a new report from the Post Millennial.
Gardheere, who is a Somali immigrant, began yelling at the children about America’s relationship with Somalia, according to police reports.
The school bus driver instructed Gardheere to exit the vehicle, but she retaliated by saying that she may have a bomb and a gun, the court docs say.
“You need to calm yourselves down ’cause I could have a bomb. Look how loose my clothes are,” Gardheere said, according to an audio recording of the incident described in court documents.
I’ve highlighted that line above because just yesterday at my local women’s shooting club meeting we were instructed on “situational awareness” and told to be more observant about clothing that could hide a weapon (obviously Gardheere was aware of the advantages of her Somali clothes). In our case yesterday we were instructed that someone wearing an item of winter clothing on a hot summer day might be of concern.
But I digress, back to the story….
Gardheere was hit with felony charges of kidnapping, but worked out a plea deal with prosecutors to get the felonies down to a misdemeanor.
A few weeks after she made veiled threats to bomb a middle school bus with children onboard, Gardheere gave an interview to Seattle Weekly. Gardheere told the paper that she was suffering from postpartum depression after the birth of her son three years earlier.
“She said her mental condition worsened after she stopped in Dubai to see in-laws on her way to visit Somalia in 2008,” the article from January 2010 said. “Then, according to her account, she was nearly raped by someone at the house where she was staying–and beaten up by police when she tried to report the incident.”
She writes-off the school bus terrorism as temporary mental illness.
Her mental illness aside, here is the big question for me!

If she was admitted to the US as a starving refugee at age 15, her family would have told the UN and the US State Department that they would be persecuted in Somalia and that they feared for their safety if they were forced to return to their home country.
Then why was she returning to Somalia for a visit in 2008?
Which begs the next question—why was she a refugee admitted to America in the first place if she can just pop back there for a social visit?
This returning to the home country (where a refugee claims they were persecuted) for a “visit” is common practice among Somalis and some other refugee frauds as well.
In my dreams I see deportation for any ‘refugee’ who returns to the country they claimed they were escaping!
Curious about a time-line for Gardheere, here is a brief summary of what I found. I couldn’t quickly find an article reporting her age, but did find that she was 29 when she terrorized the school children in 2010, and she admits she was 15 when she was resettled as a refugee.
That makes her around 40 years old today.
She describes herself as a single mother with three children and I wondered where might hubby be now. She did have in-laws in Dubai in 2008, or so she says.
(Wondering about Somalis in Dubai, I learned that there are many prosperous Somalis doing business between Dubai and Mogadishu, so was Gardheere a legitimate refugee?)
We assume she was resettled in the Seattle area because unfortunately for Americans there, the area was a prime resettlement site for Somalis. Not as huge as Minneapolis, but up in the top 5 or so for sure.
I went back to one of the most-read posts of my nearly 14 years writing this blog, and see that she was likely ‘welcomed’ to America in 1996 during Bill Clinton’s term in office.
It is a shame that I stopped updating that post in 2016, because as I reported previously, the data is now not available to the public except possibly in Annual Reports to Congress and available there only up to 2018.
The dreadful practice is increasing, says Canadian author and women’s rights activist, Farzana Hassan, because aid workers/support networks are no where to be found due to the virus crisis and the social and economic decline it is causing worldwide.
You can be sure that Somalis resettled by the tens of thousands in America brought some of these “entrenched social norms” with them.
COVID-19 has caused widespread illness, death and economic misery everywhere. It has also given rise to social problems, exacerbating crimes like female genital mutilation in the developing world.
Recent reports from Somalia, the country with the highest percentage of FGM, show a disturbing trend. This brutality inflicted on underage girls has reportedly increased during these weeks of confinement and isolation.
This is not entirely unexpected.
In fact, humanitarian agencies across the world predicted the figures would get worse. The economic crisis caused by COVID-19 has resulted in an increase in all forms of violence toward girls, partly because their access to the support networks put in place by humanitarian agencies has been blocked.
Any small gains previously made toward gender equality and the basic human rights of women and girls have suffered a serious blow.
They had been getting this support at school or in the workplace, but now they are confined to their most dangerous environment: home. The pressure is on parents and guardians to provide for them under these economically stressful times. The solution for families is to get these girls married off, and in Somalia only girls who have undergone FGM stand any chance of marriage.
Regrettably, the mutilation is not confined to Somalia. In other African countries, like Sudan and Sierra Leone, the practice is also prevalent. It is a manifestation of entrenched social norms rooted in gross gender inequality right across the continent.
A staggering 98% of African females have endured the painful and traumatic procedure of having parts of their outer genitalia cut off by women who have made a profession out of this. Of these victims, 40% happen to be under the age of 15.
The first time I ever heard of this sick and depraved practice was when I read Ayan Hirsi Ali’s first book‘Infidel’ in 2007. The author describes in graphic detail what was done to her.

I checked the numbers at Wrapsnet this morning and see that since I reported last on Wednesday (March 1) we had admitted 296 additional refugees.
The UN asked the US to help clear out their camps for the DR Congolese and as of today we admitted 37,913 in just over 3 years. 50 arrived since Wednesday.
Readers will recall that the US State Department notified its refugee resettlement contractors to expect the flow to stop on about March 3rd. Clearly it hasn’t stopped yet.
Of the 296 admitted since Wednesday, 105 were from four of the seven countries identified in the so-called “travel ban.”
None came in the last few days from Libya, Syria or Yemen (but readers should know that in the last few years only tiny numbers, if any, came from Libya or Yemen). But, it was a surprise to see that Syria was down to zero in the last couple of days.
The big winner in the gang of seven countries was Somalia which sent us a whopping 77 refugees since Wednesday.
Other big winners, among the usual sending countries, were Burma (97, 12 of those were Muslims) and 50 came from the DR Congo.
DR Congo! The UN said take 50,000 and we said yes, master!
Long time readers will remember that we promised the United Nations, here in 2013, to admit 50,000 from the DR Congo over 5 years. Only a small number of those are Muslims, but they represent some very traumatized women (with lots of children) who will require expensive mental health treatment,here. Their contribution to the US economy will surely be a negative one as we are clearly importing extreme poverty in this case.
I see that as of this morning we have admitted 37,913 from DR Congo since FY2013!
This is a prime example of a key reform we expect the Trump Administration to make. If we are going to admit some refugees….
We should decide which ‘refugees’ we take, not simply jump when the United Nations tells us to!

If you can’t read Florida, it is 1,329. Alaska is 72 and Hawaii 0. A reminder: Wyoming is the only state that never started a refugee resettlement program.

Tell President Trump to stop jumping when the UN tells us to help them clean out their refugee camps!
Endnote: I suspect the delay in the new travel ban announcement is that the State Department is waiting to clear the last refugees through airports world wide.

Trump to Unleash Immigration Orders

U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to sign several executive orders on Wednesday restricting immigration from Syria and six other Middle Eastern or African countries, according to several congressional aides and immigration experts briefed on the matter.

In addition to Syria, Trump’s orders are expected to temporarily restrict access to the United States for most refugees. Another order will block visas from being issued to Iraq, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen, said the aides and experts, who asked not to be identified.
Trump’s restrictions on refugees are likely to include a multi-month ban on admissions from all countries until the State Department and the Department of Homeland Security can increase the intensity of the vetting process.
The Republican president was expected to sign the orders at the Washington headquarters of the Department of Homeland Security, whose responsibilities include immigration and border security.

Anxiety has been building all day about whether President Trump was going to squish-out on doing anything serious about reining-in immigration.
I reported in my earlier post todaythat Wrapsnet has been down all weekend, but it is back up and we learned that a huge number of refugees have been admitted just since Inauguration day—990! So, if this is accurate news, that Trump will pause the refugee program, it couldn’t come soon enough.
