Sweden: refugee ‘kids’ brawl, one dead

Poor “welcoming” Sweden.  That’s all I can say, their “refugee” problems appear in our alerts daily now.  However, this story is thanks to Fjordman via twitter.

Korpilombolo group home where the youths brawled and one died. Is this the tiny town’s only police car?

Our most recent Sweden post about a Somali refugee raping a woman to death in a Sheraton Hotel parking area has garnered thousands of hits over the last three days.

Today’s news is perhaps an inevitable ‘told ya so’ about Sweden’s new scheme to force hundreds of small towns to host the inflow if “kids” from disparate areas of the third-world.  Seems the teens (unaccompanied minors!) got into a brawl in a group home where language barriers may have allowed the situation to get out of control.

From The Local (in Sweden, America too! the media is so PC they can’t bring themselves to even identify the nationalities of the kids):

A 13-year-old boy is being held on suspicion of assault and manslaughter following the death of another teenager following a fight at asylum housing for lone refugees in northern Sweden.

The incident took place in Korpilombolo [a town of just over 500 inhabitants—ed] on Friday evening when a brawl broke out amongst a number of boys at the asylum housing centre. A boy was hit in the face, fell backwards and could not be revived with police saying his death was likely caused by a fatal impact to his head caused by the fall.

Previous reports suggested that the victim had been involved in the fight but it’s now understood he happened to chance upon the brawl. The TT news agency reports that there were eight boys aged between 13 – 15 years of age sharing the accommodation.

The chairman of the municipal executive board in Pajala, where Korpilombolo is located, was asked by reporters why the death occurred despite the presence of six adult members of social services at the asylum housing.

“It was a sudden incident. It happened very fast,” said Kurt Wennberg who added that he didn’t want to speculate if language confusion among the boys from different countries was a contributory factor.  [What do you want to bet they mixed Muslims and non-Muslim youths in the same home in their sociological experiment!—ed]

290 Swedish towns must host the unaccompanied minors.  We previously reported on the resistance by some of the towns, here.

The Pajala municipality is one of 240 out of 290 Swedish municipalities hosting unaccompanied minors under legislation passed by the Swedish Migration Board (Migrationsverket).

A new bill, which comes into force next year, is set to bring the remaining 50 municipalities into line and will allow underage asylum seekers who come to Sweden without parents or guardians to reside in the country.

In 2005, Sweden received about 500 applications from underage asylum seekers. For 2013, the authorities estimate that they will process 4,000 cases in total.

Why so many ‘unaccompanied minors’ now?  My theory is that the international Left (Socialist and Communists) and the Open Borders/human rights cabal are helping separate kids from their families knowing they have a better chance of getting them established in western countries that way.  Then the “government” (it takes a village!) will raise the kids into good little Socialists for release into the local population.   With this program they are salting them all over Sweden.

It is happening in the US too, except here the “contractors” are being paid by you to take care of the influx of 20,000 “kids” in 2013 alone. When the kids turn 18 they are just released into America.

Sweden: Somali refugee rapes woman till she dies

This dreadful story is all over my alerts this morning.  The awful original story is in Swedish.  Since I wasn’t completely sure of this translation (below) at the Council of Conservative Citizens, I checked Fjordman’s tweets to see if the story is real and I see he tweeted it yesterday.

Sweden here we come!

Here is what the Council of Conservative Citizens says, and included is a film interview about the rape statistics in Sweden and Norway (be sure to watch it):

A 34 year old immigrant from Somalia was arrested for savagely attacking a woman in the parking garage of a Sheraton hotel in Sweden. The woman died while being raped. Police say the perpetrator continued to rape the woman’s corpse well after she had died.

The Somalian was apprehended by police while still in the act of raping the murdered woman.

Source (In Swedish)

Sweden and Norway are in the middle of a massive epidemic of violent rapes. Crime statistics show that rapes in both countries are overwhelmingly perpetrated by Muslim immigrants.

2013 figures were given in a recent report by Swedish Public Radio. In the first seven months of 2013, over 1,000 Swedish women reported being raped by Muslim immigrants. Over 300 of those were under the age of 15. The number of rapes is up 16% compared to 2012 numbers.

Humorous (sort of!) photo is from Bare Naked Islam about Somali migration to Sweden.

Swedish towns being forced by law to take refugee minors (and give them welcome party)

We’ve told you about this before, but apparently the time is rapidly approaching when Swedish municipalities that have not previously “welcomed” refugees will be forced to do so.

Dissatisfied refugee “youths,” placed in Swedish castle, protest claiming the place is haunted. “We don’t want to live here.” Picky! Picky! Picky!

It sounds incredible that they wouldn’t get any say in the matter. But, in some ways it is no different than US cities and towns that are not given any say about whether theirs will become one of the 186 (and growing) resettlement sites.  In America the difference is that there isn’t any law— one’s town is just expected to be “welcoming” until such time as it is not and then it’s usually too late.

And, on this issue of unaccompanied minors (a rapidly growing category in the US too).  I don’t know how this came to be big business (with so many kids with no parents) unless there is an effort among the humanitarians to urge parents to let their kids loose and become wards of some government somewhere.

From The Local (emphasis mine):

Swedish municipalities are set to be forced to welcome more asylum seekers following a new bill introduced by the Swedish Migration Board with some saying it will be difficult to find housing for the influx.

The bill, which comes into force next year, allows underage asylum seekers who come to Sweden without parents or guardians to reside in the country.

At present 50 Swedish municipalities don’t have an agreement with the Migration Board (Migrationsverket) and are scrambling to find a solution before the law comes into effect.

“They are forcing us to come up with solutions that don’t exist and those kind of solutions are never good,” said Agneta Bode, who chairs the social welfare board in the Arboga municipality, central Sweden, to the Swedish Radio Ekot programme.

Bode added that her municipality of 13,000 would struggle to cope with a refugee influx due to a housing shortage.

Under the new law the Migration Board gets to decide where the asylum seekers live. Municipalities who don’t presently have any refugees will host the first set of new arrivals and are unable to appeal the decision.

As well as providing housing the legislation means the municipalities are also responsible for the welcome ceremony for the new refugees and their general care.

Are your kids playing the UN’s “Against all odds” game?

This morning on my twitter feed the UNHCR was promoting a kid’s game—“Against all odds”—which I had never heard of.  Turns out they have been working on building “empathy” in your children worldwide since 2005 with this game to be used in classrooms.  The goal is for Western children to accept “integration” (note they always shun the word assimilation!).

See how clever this is!  The character here looks strikingly like the internationally popular Japanese animation—Anime!

Here is some of what ‘wikipedia’ says about it (emphasis mine):

Against All Odds is an Adobe Flash video game developed by UNHCR designed to teach players about the plight of refugees. Originally released in Swedish in 2005, the game has been translated into several languages, the English edition of which was released in November 2007.

Initial funding for the project came from a grant of NOK 1 million from Statoil to UNHCR’s Baltic and Nordic regional office, with the aim of developing a project to reach young people and promote integration in the region.

UNHCR decided to proceed the project as a web-based game, a medium which could reach a large number of young people, require no distribution costs and minimal marketing costs. The game was aimed at 12 – 15 year olds, an age where people began to develop ideas regarding refugees and similar issues.

In Against All Odds, the player takes the role of a refugee, and plays through twelve stages – depicting his persecution and flight from his native country, through to eventual integration into a foreign country as an asylum seeker.

In awarding a prize in Austria, a jury said this, according to wikipedia:

The jury praised the game for building understanding, empathy and concern for the plight of refugees in the player

Sweden: Somali family reunification numbers below expectations

One reason—a DNA test requirement to prove they are blood relatives.

Somalis make up the largest immigrant group in Sweden followed by Afghans and Iraqis (according to Scancomark). We will wait and see what Syrian immigration does to the numbers.

Yesterday we told you about Sweden’s exportation of Islamic terrorists (aka Swedish citizens), and we have written extensively about Sweden opening its doors wide to Syrians, but here is an article that almost makes them sound crestfallen because their Somali numbers aren’t materializing as the welcoming Swedes thought they would.

From The Local (emphasis mine):

The Swedish Migration Board (Migrationsverket) was prepared for 20,000 applications following changes that made it easier for family members to apply for residency in Sweden to be reunited with Somalis who had already migrated to Sweden.

However, so far only 7,430* Somalis have applied after a court ruling that allowed DNA tests to be used to prove family relations, Sveriges Radio (SR) reported.

Authorities plan to adjust forecasts downward to 8,600 as early as this month.

Habane Abdulkadir Hassan of Sweden’s Somali association Somaliska riksförbundet told SR there are likely several reasons for the lower numbers.

Among other things, the high unemployment rate among Somalis in Sweden, a lack of identification documents to confirm Somali nationality**, as well as new hope of a better life in Somalia have all contributed to fewer family reunification residency applications.

Around 70 percent of Somalis who applied for residency in Sweden are expected to have their applications approved, according to SR.

* For some perspective on how large even this number is for tiny Sweden, the US has admitted a very large number of Somalis this fiscal year—-6,679 (as of August 31).  Go here for the stats:  Map Arrivals by Nationality as of 31 Aug 2013

** On this issue of Somali identity, we reported here in 2012 that other Africans (Djiboutians in this case) were flocking to Sweden pretending to be Somalis.

We write about Sweden frequently because it is the ‘canary in the coal mine’ for what happens when a Socialist country allows almost unlimited migration from Muslim countries.   Click here for our whole ‘Sweden’ archive.   One post you should see, if you missed it, is this one on the recent Muslim riots and the public response.
