Swedish Bus Soap Opera Turns Psycho (update!)

The asylum bus melodrama has turned psycho, as two of the Arab asylum seekers strip to their underwear and crouch on the ice in protest.

Were they pretending to be polar bear swimmers who jump into the freezing ocean at the Jersey Shore on New Year’s Day? Do they think they’re “Fe-Men”? Maybe they’re sexually frustrated potential public exhibitionists? Only their psychiatrist knows for sure.

They say they’re terrified by bears and wolves and snow. But then one asylum-seeker adds, “I walked 1400 kilometers from Syria through Turkey and Macedonia to get to Greece!” But Macedonia has Europe’s largest wolf population. Who is he kidding?! [Gotta double check every little thing they say!]

Freelance journalist Jens Ganman, who reported from the scene, says the men unanimously insist that they were given no information about where the bus was headed; however, he cannot vouch for the accuracy of their account. [I believe they originally agreed to go on the bus because they imagined the destination would look different. However, after they changed their minds, they could not admit having made a mistake – preservation of their Middle Eastern notions of personal honor and infallibility would not permit that. So instead they insisted they were lied to. Lying happens all the time in the Middle East! LOL!]

Despite the craziness of the bus protest, Ganman, our hero on the scene, maintained his sound judgment, as can be understood from his interview with Sweden’s “Nyheter Idag”. When asked what he thinks about the standoff, Ganman points out that Swedish politicians are giving orders to the Migration Board that are increasingly difficult to carry out. [Sweden expects to receive another 100,000 asylum seekers this year on top of almost the same number in 2014.]

He also finds it strange that the Swedes aren’t having a stronger public debate about the profit-driven motive behind all of this asylum resettlement activity! In Sweden, as in the U.S., private businesses are profiting from taxpayer-paid refugee benefits. For example, Ganman mentions the phenomenon of Bert Karlsson, the former head of an anti-immigration political party who flipped and hopped on the taxpayer-paid asylum gravy train to make a business out of housing asylum seekers. However, ultimately Ganman blames the political establishment for the mess created.

At noon on Friday, the asylum-seekers agreed to leave the bus and take the offered accommodations. They said they were promised apartments after three months. However, the Migration Board refused to verify this or discuss the terms of the deal offered.

The story may not be over yet. A couple hours later, protester Moaweyh Ramly spoke with Sweden’s “Expressen” to say that the refugees are very disappointed. There are no guarantees they’ll get apartments. “They have cheated us.” [We’ve heard that line before!]

Refugee Soap Opera on a Bus in Sweden

The idea of bringing in bunches of strange and exotic people into Sweden is turning into a crazy soap opera.

Where are the deluxe accommodations in central Malmö the smugglers promised?

The latest refugee soap opera taking place is on a BUS in a quiet and pristine part of Sweden some six hours north of Stockholm. It’s called Grytan and is a 20-minute drive south of Östersund. Sheltered by one of Sweden’s many evergreen forests, Grytan lies in a sublime setting where those escaping trouble can finally feel at peace and reconnect with nature.

 After sunset (it comes early here in winter, 2:31 p.m. on New Year’s Day), visitors can check out excellent local restaurants that offer Swedish specialties like elk meat balls with pickles, cranberries and cream sauce! Yum!

Lodgings specially built for refugees are superb and include all amenities, including a health center, two playgrounds, and internet access, as well as special events including outdoor barbecue picnics with music and volleyball.

This video shows contented asylum seekers relaxing, eating American-style sandwiches, and getting some exercise. What fun!

But now there’s rebellion brewing in Grytan. Some new arrivals refuse to get off the bus! They say Grytan is too dangerous! Bears and wolves might eat them!

One of the frightened newcomers is above.  (See all of the photos showing the rest of the group and the lovely facility prepared for them.)

They all look like Middle Eastern men – is that a surprise? The protesters who were interviewed on Swedish radio confirmed their origins.

They said they need a “better place” and that “here exist bear and wolf and more animals …. we are Arab people. We can’t stay here in that weather”.

Another man complained “I am 75-years-old and come from the Middle East. Then I get sent to a place that looks like this,” said a man from Syria to the local Östersunds-Posten (story at The Local), pointing to the icy road.

“It is dangerous for me to be here,” he said.

Some of the protesting asylum seekers spent the night on the bus and then complained it was cold. In the latest development, the asylum seekers are threatening to stage a hunger strike! I suppose the idea of elk balls with cranberries and cream sauce does not appeal to them.

When will the Swedes get it right?

Daniel Pipes: Sweden opting for suicide by immigration?

That’s a good way of asking what our reporting for years seems to be leading to for Sweden.  Yesterday Daniel Pipes writing at National Review Online reports on how close the Swedes are to committing cultural suicide.

Woe to anyone in Sweden who dissents from the orthodox view that welcoming large numbers of indigent peoples from such countries as Iraq, Syria, and Somalia is anything but a fine and noble idea. Even to argue that permitting about 1 percent of the existing population to emigrate annually from an alien civilization renders one politically, socially, and even legally beyond the pale. (I know a journalist threatened with arrest for mild dissent on this issue.) Stating that there exists a Swedish culture worth preserving meets with puzzlement.

And yet, the realities of immigration are apparent for all to see: welfare dependency, violent bigotry against Christians and Jews, and a wide range of social pathologies from unemployment to politically motivated rape. Accordingly, ever-increasing numbers of Swedes find themselves — despite known hazards — opting out of the consensus and worrying about their country’s cultural suicide.

Efforts by the immigration restrictionists—Sweden Democrats—to debate immigration are being squashed from both the political left and the so-called political right.  I say woe to those countries without freedom of speech (no matter how unpopular the words are) because it leaves no place else to go but toward civil unrest and ultimately violence.

Maybe we should thank Sweden for helping the rest of us see and understand the lesson.

Since we just posted about “welcoming” Sweden it seems like a good time to mention a couple of the charming new Swedes they are exporting!

From the New York Daily News (hat tip:  crime investigator extraordinaire, ‘Pungentpeppers,’ who always finds the juiciest news!):

A reputed terrorist facing trial in Brooklyn likened killing innocent civilians in suicide bomb attacks to a “forgivable sin comparable to masturbation,” authorities disclosed.

Terror suspect Madhi Hashi. Apparently no photos available of the two additional “twisted” Muslims.

Federal prosecutors opened a window into the twisted mind of al-Shabaab goon Ali Yasin Ahmed in papers filed in Brooklyn Federal Court, where he is charged with co-defendants Madhi Hashi and Mohammed Yusuf with providing material support to the Somalia-based militant group, which has merged with al Qaeda to wreak havoc throughout the world. [The implication here is that Ahmed is twisted but in fact his thinking is right in line with Islamic teaching—ed]

Conversations between Ahmed and Yusuf, who are Swedish citizens, were intercepted in November 2008. Yusuf is heard voicing doubts about traveling to Somalia to join al-Shabaab in light of a series of suicide bombing attacks in Africa targeting buildings operated by the United Nations and the Somali government that killed 26 people, according to court documents.

But Ahmed puts his comrade’s jitters to rest, according to the court papers. “Ahmed minimized the significance of suicide bombings against civilian targets and suggested that if such attacks were in fact a sin, they were an immaterial, forgivable sin comparable to masturbation,” Assistant U.S. Attorneys Shreve Ariail, Seth DuCharme and Richard Tucker wrote.

The three defendants joined al-Shabaab and served under the command of Arabi-American Jehad Mostafa, a San Diego native who made the FBI’s list of most wanted terrorists. Hashi, 25, was allegedly a member of a suicide bombing unit. Ahmed 29, and Yusuf, 31, allegedly received military training.  [San Diego is an important Muslim refugee resettlement city***—ed]

If Yusuf once had second thoughts about becoming a foreign fighter, they were gone by 2010 when he starred in an al-Shabaab propaganda video called “Inspire the Believers” that sought to recruit jihadists, and also allegedly threatened to behead Danish cartoonist Lars Vilks for mocking the Prophet Mohammad, the feds stated.

Defense lawyers are seeking to dismiss the indictment, contending there is no basis to prosecute the trio in the U.S.

I don’t see anything about how the two charmers Sweden sent out into the world came into our custody, so if anyone sees more, please send a comment to this post and update us all.

*** By the way, back in 2008 and 2009 we learned that some of the Somali “missing youths” who were traveling out of the US were in fact driving to San Diego and from there crossing into Mexico en route to Somalia and Jihad training with Al Shabaab.  Don’t have time this morning to search for those links.

Another mosque fire in Sweden—the land that hands out welfare goodies and loves diversity

We reported on a previous arson fire involving a Swedish mosque, here a few days ago. (Update: Not so fast, more investigations fail to prove arson, here.)  I do hope we learn who is ultimately responsible because I have become so cynical that I think there is a chance that either other Muslims with grudges (Muslims like using fire for revenge!) are responsible, or that the fires are intentional to enhance the victim status of Muslims in Western countries for propaganda purposes.

If it turns out to be local Swedes striking the matches because of anger over immigration policy, then civil war is closer than I thought.

The latest mosque experiencing an arson attack is located in Eslöv, in the south of Sweden where diversity is blooming according to this informative website which proudly declares:

Apart from Swedish, some of the major languages are: Albanian, Arabic, Bosnia, Croatian, Serbian, Dari, English, Sorani, Kurmanji, Persian, Somali, Thai and Tigrinya.

UPDATED: Police suspect a mosque in southern Sweden was deliberately torched on Monday, with a local imam blaming rising Islamophobia in the region.

Imam Samir Muric fears for his safety. But, if you were so afraid would you allow a news outlet to take and publish your photo?

Emergency services were called to the mosque in Eslöv, a small city in the south of the country, at around 3.15am on Monday.

It is understood that the blaze began after flammable liquid caught fire in one of the rooms in the building.

Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and were able to prevent the fire spreading, although the flames still caused minor damage to the building. Firefighters suspect foul play.

“There is no possible natural explanation for this type of fire to break out by itself”, fire department spokesman Gustaf Sandell told Sveriges Radio.

Samir Muric, the local imam, said he was worried for his own safety. [What is Muric’s ethnicity? Sunni? Shia? Maybe this is an Islam on Islam crime? Why is that information never reported?—ed]

“Unfortunately, this is probably something to do with Islamophobia. I live close by and it’s beginning to feel unsafe,” he told the TT news agency.

You have to laugh because the Leftists in the media immediately link the arson story to the rise of the political right in Sweden:

Mosques in Sweden have been subject to growing numbers of attacks in recent months.

The fire comes less than a week after several people were hurt in a separate fire at a mosque in Eskilstuna in central Sweden on Christmas Day. Police say they are unable to confirm whether the blaze there was started on purpose.

Sweden, known for tolerance and refugee-friendly policies, saw a nationalist right party, the Sweden Democrats, become the third-largest force in parliament in legislative elections in September and reports of race-related violence are on the rise in the country.   [No mention of the race-related violence being perpetrated by Muslim youths!—ed]

In early December, the party brought down the government after less than three months by refusing to back its budget proposal in parliament.

On Saturday the government announced it had reached a deal with the opposition that will enable it to remain in power and to avert the country’s first snap elections in more than half a century, but the far right has threatened to hold a no-confidence vote.
