Catholic Bishops join the chorus: bring 65,000 Syrians to the US ASAP; Pope to lecture Congress on immigration?

I’ve been away in Texas (see my Texas posts if you haven’t already), so will have some catching up to do.
From National Catholic Reporter we learn that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Migration Committee chairman, Bishop Eusebio Elizondo, has gone on the record saying no more detention centers for illegal migrants, let in the Central America ‘children,’ and bring in 65,000 Syrians while you are at it!

Seattle Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo welcomes the world to come live in America! No mention of the fact that the USCCB is paid by the head from the US Treasury to take care of the refugees and the illegal migrant children!

He also says the Bishops support so-called ‘Comprehensive Immigration Reform’ (aka amnesty) in Congress. I sure hope they aren’t lobbying with some of the millions of taxpayer dollars they receive every year!
Everywhere I go, including in Texas this week, Catholics I meet are stunned to learn how far Left the Catholic Bishops are.
Here is the National Catholic Reporter:

Seattle Auxiliary Bishop Eusebio Elizondo said the Migration Committee he chairs continues the push for reform of the immigration detention system in addition to comprehensive immigration reform. He noted that the latter has stalled in the House of Representatives and that the U.S. bishops supported executive actions by the Obama administration, itself currently tied up in the courts, to provide deferred deportation and work authorization to people in the country illegally.

On the detention camps, Elizondo referenced the bishops’ May report that called for alternatives to family detention.

[….]

He said the committee supports the U.S. Department of State’s in-country processing of children in danger in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala, which allows them to apply for asylum without having to make the journey to the U.S. border. The committee also advocates a massive increase in the number of Syrian refugees, including religious minorities from Syria and Iraq, accepted into the U.S.: a target of 65,000 of the most vulnerable in the next two years, compared to the 673 resettled since 2011.  [Mark my words, only a small fraction, less than 8% at the present rate, will be “religious minorities” and he knows it! So far 92% are Sunni Muslims—ed]

Elizondo said he hopes Pope Francis will spotlight immigration reform during his September visit to the U.S., particularly during his Sept. 24 address to Congress.

If the Pope plans to lecture us about immigration maybe some good Catholics should protest!

You have got to tell Congress NO to 65,000 Syrians!  See my youtube video on what you have to do, if you haven’t already.

Endnote to my new Texas friends:  California and Texas are tied for being the top resettlement states for Syrians so far.

Syrian youths getting in to US as "academic refugees"

They may not have transcripts, but some American colleges are taking Syrian “students” to supposedly educate them to return and re-build Syria (yeh, sure!).
From Omaha.com (hat tip: Julia).  The ‘students’ featured here are at Emporia State University in Emporia, KS.
I haven’t heard much from Emporia since late 2007 and early 2008 when they had a huge Somali refugee problem there.  The Somalis had been brought in by Tyson Foods and were busy developing a Somali enclave in town.  Ultimately, the controversy got too heated and Tyson Foods actually closed the plant.  We covered it so extensively that we created an entire category just for Emporia, here.   BTW, it was the first time we came to understand the role of meatpackers working with refugee contractors to change small town America.  But I digress…
Here is the news about Syrian ‘students’ being placed in US colleges:

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Brothers Molham and Mohammad Kayali spray-painted anti-government graffiti around Aleppo University in northern Syria in early 2012 and held up flags in protest against President Bashar al Assad’s government. Worried that their lives were in danger, they gave up on school and fled to Turkey in September 2012.

They were reunited last year with their younger brother, Ebrahim, at Emporia State University, a small school in Kansas, joining among about 700 “academic refugees” now in the U.S. who either fled from the long-running violent conflict, attended universities that have closed or couldn’t safely travel to schools in dangerous areas.

[….]

The New York-based Institute of International Education has helped organize a consortium of mostly U.S. and Portuguese schools and has provided 158 scholarships and 89 emergency grants to Syrian students, according to Daniela Kaisth, a vice president with the institute. Similar efforts were made to help Iraqi students after the U.S.-led invasion.

The latest data shows that the number of Syrian students attending U.S. universities swelled from 424 students in 2009-10 to 693 students in 2013-14, according to the institute’s Open Doors Report on International Education Exchange, published in partnership with the U.S. Department of State.

Some of the schools in the consortium are Emporia State, the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, Monmouth College in Illinois, and Tufts University in Massachusetts.

Some enterprising investigative blogger should look into the Institute of International Education.  I wouldn’t be surprised to find George Soros and some of his ilk behind it somewhere.
Incidentally, if we can’t screen Syrian refugees, as the FBI recently told Congress, how are we screening Syrian college students?

Propaganda campaign to bring 65,000 Syrians to your towns heating up!

Somehow I must make everyone of you understand how critical this is right now.
The refugee resettlement contractors, the humanitarian industrial complex, the United Nations and 14 US Senators (the Jihad Caucus!) are working day and night to tell the world that America is bad because we have not opened the floodgates to tens of thousands of UN-chosen, mostly Sunni Muslim refugees!

Director Human Rights First: We want 65,000 Syrians admitted to the US NOW! The fact that the US has not started the flow in a big way is a huge embarrassment to the “humanitarians” and to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Here is one more story, this time at IRIN (a “humanitarian” news outlet connected to the UN) entitled: ‘How US is failing Syrian refugees.’

Human rights groups, members of Congress and city planners are among those trying to persuade President Barack Obama to allow more Syrians to settle here. However, security concerns, anti-immigration sentiment and bureaucratic hurdles all stand in the way.

It has taken the world a long time to acknowledge that most of the 12 million Syrians displaced – inside and outside their country – by the five-year civil war will not be going home anytime soon. Neighbours Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey have absorbed nearly four million Syrians between them. Other countries have been slower to step up to the plate, particularly in terms of pledging to take some of the 88,000 Syrian refugees allocated for resettlement by the UN’s refugee agency, UNHCR.

Twenty-eight countries have so far agreed to take in 62,000 of them – with Germany taking nearly half.

These are phony baloney numbers.  I’ve been watching the European situation and there is a lot of talk about Germany accepting tens of thousands of Syrians, but it has not happened!   And, besides, Germany says it isn’t going to take them permanently, as we do, but wants them to return to Syria at some point in the future.

Also, the UN wants some countries, especially the US, to start the flow in a big way so they can guilt-trip other countries into following suit.  It is important that you help stop this madness!

The US has not committed to a specific number, but Larry Yungk, senior resettlement officer with UNHCR in Washington, said it is expected to take in only 35 percent of the 13,000 individual cases submitted for consideration by his agency. The protracted US security clearance process, which involves additional checks for Syrians, means it is likely to be at least another two years before the refugees set foot on American soil.

“This is just too little and too slow for a country that should be a global leader,” said Eleanor Acer, from Human Rights First, which is advocating for the US to take in 65,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2016.

Read it all.

The article goes on to promote that dumb idea of bringing 50,000 Syrians to re-populate Detroit!

I don’t care how hopeless your representatives in Washington may be, but please, please express your concerns to them!

Please everyone reading this, call your Member of Congress and Senators starting today and continue next week.  Tell them NO—do not admit Syrian Muslim refugees who will, of course, be planted in your towns and cities across the entire country!

See my latest Youtube video and send it to everyone you know. It is short and explains to Americans what they need to do and why.

Surprise (not!): ISIS-related terrorists found among UN-chosen Syrian refugees destined for Norway

Just as we have been warning!

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is picking our refugees too!  And, here in Norway they have discovered Islamic terrorists among the chosen!

UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Antonio Guterres, is selecting the Syrians for your towns. They are doing a lousy job for Norway, what about for us?

When House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul speculated a week or so ago that the Syrian flow to America could be a “jihadi pipeline,” he was right!  The 14 Senators of the ‘Jihad Caucus’ are willing to put you in danger when they demand that Obama admit 65,000!
From The Local (hat tip: Joanne):

Several refugees sent to Norway under the UN’s quota system turned out to have close links to the terror groups Islamic State (IS) and the al-Nusra Front, Norway’s Police Security Service (PST) has revealed.

According to the service, between five and ten of the 1,000 Syrians chosen to go to Norway by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), were discovered to have links to the one of the two terror groups.

“Unfortunately, there are some who try to exploit and abuse the refugee agency,” Police Superintendent Svein Erik Molstad told Norway’s Dagbladet newspaper. “We have discovered more quota refugees with ties to the al-Nusra front and IS,” he said.

Look at this! Norway sends its Security Service to the Middle East. Is that where the terrorists were discovered and intercepted?  Do we send the FBI to UN camps as well?

PST investigators have so far made two trips to the Middle East, where it works with Norway’s Foreign Ministry to vet refugees passed to Norway under the UN’s quota system.

According to Molstad, the investigations have also uncovered refugees with backgrounds in Syria’s feared secret police, as well as others suspected of carrying out war crime’s during the country’s ongoing civil war.

Although PST is now working in the Middle East, its officers neither interview nor have other direct contact with prospective refugees.

Dagbladet has also learned of Islamic extremists using refugee reception centres as recruiting grounds for terrorists.

Let’s do the math.  If the Norwegian secret service found 10 of 1000 UNHCR refugees with terror connections, that is 1% of the total.  If we admit 65,000, 1% is 650 (LOL! Check my math!).  650 with terror ties could sure cause a lot of mayhem here in America.
If you are new to RRW, our ‘Invasion of Europe’ series is here, and we have a pretty extensive archive on Norway as well, here.
