Catholic Charities full-throated cry for more of your money!

Wahhhhh!   The Office of Refugee Resettlement has told the refugee contractors*** that their funds for the normal refugee flow will be cut by $94 million immediately if Congress doesn’t pass an emergency out lay of $200 million for the ‘unaccompanied alien children’ this week.   (BTW, the Catholic Bishops call the illegal aliens, “refugees,” here.)

Obama asked for $2 billion for the kids!   (Thanks to a reader for correcting my math!!!).

Bishop Elizondo leading a pack of priests on the border: they are all refugees now! http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/04/01/catholic-leaders-push-immigration-reform/7164359/

The irony, of Catholic Charities now crying for more money because the “children” the Catholic Church helped encourage to invade America (yes, you know Catholic groups are the “religious organizations” referred to here) are now gobbling up all the funds they need to run their offices, is funny if it weren’t so likely that Congress will just bow down and give Obama and the Catholic contractors the money (your money!).

Just a reminder: 98% of the Catholic Bishops refugee and migration money comes from the federal government.

Incidentally, there is nothing to stop them from appealing for PRIVATE CHRISTIAN CHARITY and thereby keeping their greedy hands out of Caesar’s pockets!

You can bet action alerts have gone out from the major contractors*** to their 350 subcontractors to send out appeals like this one Joanne saw from Catholic Charities of Baton Rouge:

On this July 4 weekend, tens of thousands of refugees given permission to enter our country and share our freedoms are threatened with having critical support services suspended, becoming collateral damage of the crisis of unaccompanied immigrant minors arriving at our border.

On June 20, the US Office of Refugee Resettlement announced plans to shift $94 million away from services for screened and approved refugees in order to aid unaccompanied immigrant children arriving at the US border. Those cuts will take place on July 5, if Congress permits. These cuts will reduce refugee services in job placement and training, English lessons, interpretative services, transportation, and access to health services.

Congress must both honor our nation’s commitments to approved refugees – many of whom have helped our troops overseas — and make an emergency supplemental appropriation of $200M to address the UIC humanitarian crisis before July 5th to adequately address their needs and prevent refugee funding from being gutted. Both are crises impacting some of the most vulnerable children and families on our planet.

They say to tell Congress this:

Congress must make an emergency supplemental appropriation of $200M to address the UIC humanitarian crisis before July 5th to adequately address their needs and prevent refugee funding from being gutted.

Congress isn’t in session today, July 5th.

Why don’t you tell Congress on Monday to stop the flow of refugees to America for the remainder of the fiscal year and maybe next year too, until all the “children” the church has encouraged to come here have been returned to their countries?

Not enough money, then don’t bring more refugees!  It is that simple!

Catholic Bishops’ report months ago: we lobby for ‘unaccompanied minors’

Kevin Appleby, USCCB lobbyist and author of the 2013 report predicting the invasion from Central America. Did the Bishops “mission” help make it happen?

Last night when I wrote about Laura Ingraham’s tweet, here, about the fact that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Migration and Refugee Services program is 98% funded by you (the taxpayer), I should have linked this post that I wrote back in February.

See the whole thing but note what the Bishops said in their November 2013 Report on their “mission” to Central America:

At the national level, the USCCB department of Migration and Refugee Services lobbies to improve options and services for undocumented minors, and oversees a country-wide network of mostly Church-affiliated agencies that administer foster care programs.

With their trip to Central America and the follow-up report one wonders if the Bishops were prescient in predicting 60,000 invaders or were they helping to make it happen?

The Bishops last week called the illegal alien teens “refugees,” here.  Indeed the Bishops and the other eight contractors are paid by the head to care for refugees.

One commenter asked last night—when did they become paid functionaries of the government?

For our many new readers, all of our posts on ‘unaccompanied minors’ are here.

Catholic Bishops milk taxpayers while pushing amnesty! Are the big guns in conservative talk-radio starting to get it?

Tonight fellow blogger Richard Falknor alerted me to this tweet at Laura Ingraham’s twitter feed:

Context for Catholic Bishops’ Amnesty Support: “Fed grants make up 93% of USCCB’s migration/refugee budget

The link sends followers to a story about how much the US Catholic Bishops receive from the US taxpayer citing their 2011 annual report.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Migration and Refugee Services has published its 2011 annual report.

According to the report, over 92.5% of Migration and Refugee Services’ $72.1 million budget came from federal grants and contracts, while under $25,000 came from private donations.

Let’s have a look at their 2012 annual report, it gets worse!   We have mentioned this umpteen zillion times, but now maybe people are ready to focus especially since the Bishops are federal contractors caring for the illegal alien “children” besides their regular allotment of refugees from the third world.

Page 13:

REVENUE

Federal Grants/Contracts           $65,911,344  (taxpayer money)

CRS Collection                            $ 1,369,807

Refugee Travel Loan Fees            $ 3,622,886   (this is taxpayer $ too, feds loaned it and USCCB keeps some)

Investment Income and                 $65,719
Private Grants/Donations

Other                                              $5,481

Total Revenue                               $70,975,237

So, that’s about 98% of their funds for 2012 that came from you!  That is not what I call Christian charity!

And, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops supports Comprehensive Immigration Reform (S.744) because if passed and signed into law it would bring them more paying “clients” and more federal grants and contracts.

The USCCB is the largest of the nine major federal contractors.

US Catholic Bishops chairman: Kids coming across border should be viewed as “refugees”

I would have some respect for the Catholic Bishops if with each of their statements like this one they publish a disclaimer along with it.

The disclaimer would go something like this:  It should be noted that the largest share of the money we use for helping refugees and the “children” coming across the border comes from the federal government.

Here is their annual report for 2012.  Out of a revenue stream of $71 million they got $69.6 million from US taxpayers (numbers are rounded, reference to travel loan fees is your money too).

***Update*** Jesuit Refugee Service:  Waahhhh! we need more of your money!  (thanks to Joanne)

From a USCCB press release on World Refugee Propaganda Day:

Bishop Elizondo leading a pack of priests on the border: they are all refugees now! http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/04/01/catholic-leaders-push-immigration-reform/7164359/

Children crossing border should be seen as refugees fleeing persecution

WASHINGTON–On World Refugee Day, celebrated June 20, Bishop Eusebio Elizondo, auxiliary bishop of Seattle, and chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ (USCCB) Committee on Migration, called upon the U.S. government to do more to assist vulnerable Syrian refugees in the Middle East and to protect the rights of children crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.

“The Syrian refugee crisis in the Middle East has reached a point of humanitarian disaster,” said Bishop Elizondo. “Although the United States has provided overseas support to these refugees, other forms of relief, including possible resettlement of the most vulnerable, should be seriously considered.” The United States has resettled a total of 42 refugees this year, compared to a Syrian refugee population of over two million persons.

Bishop Elizondo also talked about the current migration of children from Central America as a refugee situation. As many as 47,000 unaccompanied children have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border since the beginning of the year in order to escape violence in their home countries.

“These children are indeed fleeing for their lives and must be looked at through a protection lens, not through an enforcement lens,” said Bishop Elizondo. “We must not send them back if they have valid protection claims.

The USCCB and the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service are two leading federal contractors retained by the Office of Refugee Resettlement to take care of the illegal alien children.  Refugees and illegal alien kids are “clients” of the contractors.   So why don’t they ever tell the public that!

By the way, the USCCB want 15,000 Syrians to be admitted to the US this year.

Glen Beck needs to get his facts straight. It is not Christian charity when the ‘church’ is paid by the taxpayers to do charitable work.

Glen Beck, get your facts straight!

The other day I heard Glen Beck suggest that the charity affiliated with his company should help take care of the illegal kids (unaccompanied minors).

His audience went berserk and many told him that was the final straw with their support for Beck’s charity and his show.

One example Beck used to demonstrate his point of view—that Christian charity dictates that we care for these kids—was a Catholic Church in Texas taking in the illegals.  Glen was praising the parishioners.

I think Beck, like most of the general public, has no clue about the millions of tax payer dollars being doled out to ‘churches’ to take care of the so-called “refugees.”

Keep it up Bishops!   Call the illegal alien teenagers “refugees” and you do more to tarnish the positive image the word “refugee” had enjoyed for decades than anything the “anti-refugee resettlement backlashers” could ever do!

See our extensive (and growing daily!) archive on the so-called “unaccompanied minors” crisis by clicking here.  It extends back several years.

Invasion on the border: “religious groups” telling them to come!

It occurred to me over the last couple of days that what we are seeing is the old “Sanctuary Movement” of the 1980’s on steroids.

Update:  See also the “Childrens Crusade” with Obama, Alinsky and the “healthiest looking refugees” here, thanks to Judy.

If you don’t remember it, look back at some of my posts on the topic (here is a pretty good summary with links from 2011).   In fact, the Sanctuary Movement was responsible for the birth of the now notorious CASA de Maryland in our home state.  (See one of many posts at Potomac Tea Party Report on the “religious LEFT” and CASA, here).

One of the few books written on the “Sanctuary Movement” is a must-read for anyone trying to understand the ‘Religious Left’ and its role with illegal migration. http://www.upress.umn.edu/book-division/books/god-and-caesar-at-the-rio-grande

In the early 1980s, churches (mostly Catholic Churches/Chicago Catholics, some protestant churches especially Presbyterians and Lutherans, and the Quakers) helped illegal Central Americans get through Mexico and then across a much better guarded border than we seem to have today.

The churches then hid the illegals and transported them to other church shelters across America, one of those was in Takoma Park, Maryland where CASA was born.  And, what a coincidence, Takoma Park is the home of the infamous Obama Labor Secretary Thomas Perez (Maryland! Watch out for Perez when Obama is no longer in office!).

Today, the flow is massive and doesn’t apparently involve dangerous night-time crossings of the border.  More importantly, today the ‘churches’ are out in the open and actually being paid by the federal government to take care of the kids (see the Office of Refugee Resettlement and its contractors, here).

But, are those churches (church contractors) actually involved in promoting and busing the illegal aliens through Mexico and to our border—-that is the $64,000 question!

Here is a news account at National Review  (Hat tip: Linda) primarily about the gang members (MS-13!) coming across now along with the “kids,”  The article contains a little nugget at the end that suggests the churches are once again involved.

Could the Catholic Church need new parishioners this badly?  Could they actually be hiring the buses and transporting the “children?”

Border Patrol officials struggling to keep up with the increasing number of minors illegally crossing the Mexican border are not turning away persons with known gang affiliations. Chris Cabrera, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, explained that a Border Patrol agent he represents helped reunite a teenage gang member with his family in the United States. Cabrera notes the young member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), a transnational criminal gang, had no criminal record in the U.S., but asks, “If he’s a confirmed gang member in his own country, why are we letting him in here?”

The government is going to take care of us!

“I’ve heard people come in and say, ‘You’re going to let me go, just like you let my mother go, just like you let my sister go. You’re going to let me go as well, and the government’s going to take care of us,’” Cabrera says. “Until we start mandatory detentions, mandatory removals, I don’t think anything is going to change. As a matter of fact, I think it’s going to get worse.”

Radio and television commercial spots ran in Central America telling migrants to go to the US now (if anyone in America helped pay for this, they have committed treason!):

Cueto (Art Del Cueto, president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2544 in Tucson) says when he asked a group of children about their motivation, they spoke of the “announcer on the radio” who encouraged them to head for the United States. Cueto says Central American radio, television, other media, and religious groups have all encouraged people to move north to the United States.

Did any of your tax dollars go into this campaign directly or indirectly through the federal ‘refugee’ contractors?

Here (below) for your review are the refugee contractors—the religious LEFT! (USCRI, ECDC and the IRC are secular contractors).

We know that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service are being paid to ‘service’ the “children.”  Are they involved in encouraging the mass migration of ‘unaccompanied alien minors’ as well?

And, for any of you do-gooders concerned for real refugees, thank the contractors for helping label these illegal aliens, including the gang bangers, as “refugees.”
