Debbie Schlussel obtained the affidavit in the Somali illegal alien case

This is a further update on the case of the 270 Somali illegal aliens who have come into the US across the Mexican border (the 270 we know of!). Hat tip:  Janet   See the affidavit and Schlussel’s commentary here.   Schlussel makes these important points in her introduction to the post:

Anthony Joseph Tracy a/k/a Yusuf Tracy a/k/a Yusuf Noor (strangely none of the press reports use his Muslim names–why?) sold out America, after converting to Islam in prison in the 1990s. Then, he went to Somalia, made contact with Harakat Al-Shabaab Mujahideen a/k/a Al-Shabaab, the Somalian chapter of Al Qaeda, and helped the group smuggle in 270 Somali Muslims–likely all Islamic terrorists–into America. And I’m sure he isn’t the only one doing this. Just the only we’ve caught.

Once again I will remind new readers that the US State Department is beefing up the Somali refugee numbers for this fiscal year.  6000 who could not get along with other camp inhabitants are on the way from Uganda and inside sources indicate that as many as a total of 13,000 Somalis are in the pipeline from around the world.  We even bring illegal alien Somalis that arrive in Malta to the US (Update:  I see more are on the way from Malta just today, here)

If you work with Somalis or have any interaction with them and learn of some mysterious new arrival(s) (the 270 possible al-Shabaab jihadists have surely melted into cities with large Somali populations*), you must contact authorities.

*Of course the top of the list is Minneapolis.  But, other cities with large Somali populations include:  Seattle, WA, San Diego, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Lewiston and Portland, ME, Boston, MA, Columbus, OH, Rochester, MN, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN, Greeley and Ft. Morgan, CO, Grand Island, NE, and Kansas City, MO (those are just the ones off the top of my head!).

For new readers:

For information on Somali missing youths, American citizens who have gone to Somalia to learn the Jihad trade, some leaving through Mexico, use those search words.  We have written dozens of stories on the case.  For more on Al-shabaab (sometimes spelled Al-shabab) also use our search function.

The US State Department has admitted over 80,000 Somali refugees to the US (this linked post continues to be one of the most widely read posts we have ever written) in the last 25 years and then in 2008 had to suspend family reunification because widespread immigration fraud was revealed through DNA testing.  That specific program has not yet been reopened (that we know of), but will be soon

Nevertheless, thousands of Somali Muslims continue to be resettled as I write this. We recently learned that we will be taking 6000 Somalis this year from one camp in Uganda and as many as 11,000-13,000 total from around the world.

Update on those 270 Somali illegal aliens roaming America

No, they haven’t been found (that we know of), but Michael Cutler writing at Family Security Matters makes a very good point.  If indeed, as the International Rescue Committee estimated (see original story), it would cost upwards of $30,000 each for Somalis to take a circuitous route to the Mexican border, would that make any sense?

$30,000 is a significant sum of money for the average American. For an alien from Somalia, this amount of money is stratospheric. It would be hard to imagine that someone who simply seeks to work illegally in a menial job would be able to put that sort of money together or that it would be financially sensible to do so. The question is, “Who paid for the travel expenses for these illegal aliens and why?”

Wouldn’t we all like to know the answers!

Comment worth noting because we have to laugh sometimes

Yesterday we received this comment to my post on Australia from reader ‘Ciccio.’    For longtime readers, you know that we have constantly criticised Arab governments, especially the Saudi government, for having no Muslim charity toward their co-religionist refugees (Palestinians being prime examples!).  Ciccio has found they do have compassion afterall!

Ciccio:

You keep accusing the Muslim countries of not doing anything for their own, I can now prove you wrong. They do not wish to see their own persecuted and are more than willing to see them repatriated to their homeland when they are no longer welcome in their country of adoption. One would have thought that Australia would have learned about import of non-indigenous from past lessons but it seems politicians never learn.

Here is the link that Ciccio provides to make his/her point.   Saudis do have compassion—for camels!

In January Arab News reported on some Saudis who initiated an Internet campaign calling for the transportation of Australian camels to the Kingdom.

The campaign followed an announcement by the Australian government that it would use helicopters and marksmen to corral and kill 6,000 feral camels in a small northern town.

Days later Australians welcomed the proposal to send their wild camels to Saudi Arabia instead of shooting them.

 Then this:

Glasson however said in an interview with a local news agency that the main objective of the culling program is to reduce the growing numbers in some areas and reduce environmental pollution.

She also pointed to the fact that gases emitted by the camels are equivalent to the polluted smoke coming out of nearly 300,000 cars.

Since we know we are all one big happy interconnected world, this begs the question, won’t the camels be producing just as much gas in Saudi Arabia as they did in Australia?

Zogby survey: minority (likely) voters say immigration levels too high

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) has an interesting report today on a recent Zogby survey on immigration.  It seems that the majority of minority likely voters think enforcement of immigration laws is important in curtailing illegal immigration and a majority believe immigration numbers across the board are too high.  CIS points out that that is in direct opposition to positions taken by the leadership of immigration advocacy groups.

While it is sometimes assumed that minorities, particularly Hispanics, favor increased immigration and legalization for illegal immigrants, a new Zogby survey finds that minority voters’ views are more complex. The poll of Hispanic, Asian-American, and African-American likely voters finds some support for legalization. But overall each of these groups prefers enforcement and for illegal immigrants to return home. Moreover, significant majorities of all three groups think that the current level of immigration is too high. These views are in sharp contrast to the leaders of most ethnic advocacy organizations, who argue for increased immigration and legalization of illegal immigrants. The survey used neutral language, avoiding such terms as “amnesty,” “illegal alien,” or “undocumented.”

Read CIS’s whole analysis.

I know why the leaders of advocacy groups are pushing for more immigration.  The answer is twofold.  Advocacy groups such as Church World Service, US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, International Rescue Committee, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, World Relief, US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the rest of the gang make their living off immigrants, plain and simple.

Then you have the other reason:  most of the leadership (I am not referring to decent employees and volunteers) of the above named groups and groups like LaRaza and the Southern Poverty Law Center  are not interested in the human aspect of immigration (although they hide under their faux humanitarian white hat), they are working to change America by creating a socialist form of government.  They need masses of immigrants to be dependent on government and thus in order to keep the taxpayer goodies flowing they expect immigrants to vote on the far left.   The leaders (inside and outside of government) are also in cahoots with people like George Soros and the one-worlders, but that’s too much to get into here.

So, although it’s very interesting and useful to see statistics like those Zogby has collected, until we are brave enough to stop dancing around the subject and speak the truth about the agenda of the immigration advocates and speak it loudly, not much will change.

Greensboro, NC Update: Lutheran agency given the heave-ho

Update:  New information is available here and Friends of Refugees asks additional questions, here.

I doubt this will be the end of the sordid tale from Greensboro, NC which we reported in a three part series last month (link to part III, here), but it’s a step in the right direction.  Lutheran Family Services came under fire in the so-called Triad area of North Carolina when one story after another emerged of refugee neglect.  I’m guessing this action, the cessation of refugee placement by LFS in the Greensboro area, is because the US State Department has pulled the plug on their funding after LFS committed the ultimate sin—they brought negative media scrutiny to the Refugee Resettlement program!

This is what the News-Record said Tuesday:

GREENSBORO — Lutheran Family Services of the Carolinas halted its refugee arrivals to the Triad on Tuesday, citing economic conditions.

The announcement by the nonprofit, which has operated in the Triad since 1979, comes after a spate of problems in serving clients. “This is a financial decision driven by the current economic conditions,” stated an unsigned statement on the LFS Web site, “that have affected the program’s sustainability at this site.”

Neither the agency’s executive director, the Rev. Laura Benson, nor Chief Executive Officer Suzanne Gibson-Wise, could be reached for comment.

Existing refugee clients will be “transitioned” to other resettlement agencies in the Triad between now and June, the statement says. At that point, LFS refugee work in the Triad will cease and will be limited to Raleigh and Columbia, S.C.

Wealth of knowledge!

“It’s going to be devastating,” Heather Scavoni, an immigration lawyer for LFS, said Tuesday. “Between Miami and here, the wealth of knowledge is concentrated in the Greensboro office.”

It is a scary prospect if this mismanaged office in Greensboro contained LFS’s “wealth of knowledge.”

Then get this answer to the refugee ‘chicken or egg’ question!  The refugee agencies arrive first and bring the refugees to your town.  So, that Greensboro will still see a large flow of refugees because there remain three other government contractors looking to resettle refugees especially since the amount of money they receive from the taxpayer has just jumped 100%.

About one-third of all refugees coming to North Carolina come to the Triad, the state refugee coordinator has reported, because of the concentration of resettlement agencies here.

Iraqis going to West Virginia meat packing plant.   This little bit in the News-Record story caught my eye.  West Virginia takes only a tiny fraction of refugees that enter the US.  My guess is that Democratic Senator (“sheets”) Byrd has managed to keep the multiculturalism in his state under control.  But, here come Iraqis from North Carolina.

By last week, some Iraqis whom LFS resettled to Greensboro last summer had become so desperate for work that a few had signed on with a staffing company, Labor Solutions,* to work at a poultry plant in Moorefield, W.Va., by arrangement with LFS.

*Check out Labor Solutions, here.  They call themselves a “progressive” company.  That is code for Left Wing.  They find immigrant labor for big business and I will bet you a buck they are all for Open Borders!  I continue to maintain that the resettlement agencies are head-hunters for big employers with nasty work—like meatpackers.  And, I wouldn’t be surprised if the resettlement agencies get some sort of kick-back when they sign up refugees for Labor Solutions or for the big business itself.

For more on the Greensboro story see Friends of Refugees here.  Also, you might want to revisit the Waterbury, CT post, here, where the State Department pulled the plug on the International Institute in May 2008 when that agency came under media fire for refugee neglect.
