Maddening! Malta takes 'refugees' from Greece and Italy and passes others on to US

I’m going to be quick I hope.  If you have been a longtime reader you know one of my complaints for the last nine years is that we are taking illegal aliens who landed on the EUROPEAN island nation of Malta to the US as refugees.
They are Malta’s and the EU’s problem not ours!

Here we learn that Malta has agreed to help with the ‘refugee’ burden-sharing as other European Union countries—Italy and Greece—-are getting the full brunt of the migrant invasion.
So check it out! Malta took a total of 80 migrants who arrived in Italy and Greece over a brief few month’s period.
From Malta’s Independent:

Malta is well on track to meeting its commitments regarding the relocation of refugees from Italy and Greece, according to the ninth progress report on the EU’s emergency relocation and resettlement schemes, assessing actions taken since 8 December 2016.

[….]

Malta is one of Seven countries who are “fully engaged in relocation from Italy,” and is also on track to meet its obligations. As at 7 February this year, Malta effectively relocated 46 refugees from Italy. Malta has also effectively relocated 34 refugees from Greece.

Because the EU has no will to stop the invasion, why does their problem become ours?

See here…..
In the first four months of this fiscal year, see that we took 210 of the economic migrants off Malta’s hands and brought them to the US as REFUGEES.

So, Malta takes 80 from Italy/Greece and gets praise for it, while they pass 210 on to us!

This is the definition of insanity!  Where is Congress? Could be an easy legal fix if Trump’s US State Department doesn’t stop it soon!

This is one of several pages for the first 4 months of the fiscal year. BTW, see El Salvador, those aren’t legitimate refugees either. We have been taking 400-500 or so a year from Malta ever since the Bush Administration.

Government demographic studies all wrong on Somali numbers in US

We probably have at least twice as many Somalis of ethnic descent living in the US as the federal government is telling us!

This little article caught my eye yesterday, so I went back this morning to look at numbers I have recorded for years.

SAMSUNG
Somalis in Minnesota with Somali flags!

From Orangeville.com about Minnesota Somali numbers, with this line at the end:

The 2015 American Community Survey says almost one-third of the more than 129,000 people in the United States reporting Somali ancestry lived in Minnesota.

129,000! No way!

This is what we know:  Back in 2008, I laboriously poured over data provided by the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement’s annual reports to Congress and wrote this post about the numbers. (We did not have access to Wrapsnet at the time).  Each year after that I updated the post with the Somalis we admitted to the US—through only the Refugee Admissions Program.

Through FY16 we admitted 136,376 Somali ‘refugees’!

That number does not include all the Somalis who got in to the US through other means including the Diversity Visa Lottery, those who received student visas and disappeared into the American woodwork, are here protected by Temporary Protected Status, or who came across one of our borders and applied for asylum (or simply disappeared) over the last 3 decades.
And, in order for there to be only 129,000 people of Somali ancestry here it would require us to believe some who came to the US left the country, that a whole heck of a lot of them died while they weren’t having babies for nearly 35 years! It is nuts!
When the government does census counts do they rely completely on who is willing to answer surveys, or do they make some attempt to look at government-held numbers about those who entered the country?  Apparently they rely on Somalis willing to tell them something!
In addition to the 136,376 through FY16, we have admitted 4,478 in the last 4 months and 19 days.
And, we pick up Somalis all over the world, and I can assure you that vetting the wandering Somalis is impossible.
Here is where that 4,478 were placed since October 1, 2016 (according to Wrapsnet):

If you can’t read Florida, it is 48, Alaska is 6 and Hawaii 0.

The top five states ‘welcoming’ Somalis since October 1, 2016 are Minnesota (609), New York (397), Ohio (306), Kentucky (283) and Arizona (276).  Virtually all Somalis are Muslims.
And, of all the ethnic groups entering the US right now, Somalis (I believe) lead the pack in the number of terrorist attacks or attempted terrorist attacks, or who have been arrested and convicted of helping to support jihadists in some form or another.

Frankly, there is absolutely no reason for the US to take in more Somalis! The UN is pushing them on us! We did not break Somalia. Why is the country’s long running civil war our problem? See here.

Will new EO slow the Syrian migration to the US?

Everyone (including me!) would like to know what the President’s new Executive Order might contain. Rumor has it there will be a new one this week.
As you will remember, the original one blocked entry for a limited time from seven countries initially identified by the Obama Administration as terror hotspots.
Additionally, it contained a moratorium for an indeterminate time for refugees (or anyone!) entering the US from Syria.
So, on the eve of a week where we might see more changes in the Trump Administration’s efforts to slow the flow to the US while security screening is made more muscular, I thought it would be good to show you how many Syrians have entered the US since the migration began in earnest in fiscal year 2015.

According to Wrapsnet, in fiscal years 2011, 2012, and 2013 the total Syrian arrivals were less than 100.  Then in FY2014 we admitted 105 Syrians.
But, then in FY2015 the number began to rise—to 1,682—followed by the huge jump to 12,587 in FY2016.  In this fiscal year (FY2017), which is not yet 5 months old, 5,486 have arrived already.
Of the total of 19,860 who arrived in those years (FY2014 to today), 19,577 are Muslims (roughly 98.5% of arrivals are Muslims of some sort). A whopping 19,272 are Sunni Muslims.
Here is where the 19,860 have been placed:

Florida is 1,075 if you can’t read it. And, Alaska and Hawaii are at zero.

And here are the top ten states that ‘welcomed’ them:

Finally, we do know that the number entering the US will be slowed simply by Trump’s legal action to reduce the overall ceiling to 50,000 refugees entering the US before September 30th.  We have been arguing it could still be reduced further, see here.
By the way, it isn’t just security we are concerned about, go here to see how expensive it is (for taxpayers!) to resettle Middle Easterners.
This post is filed in our Trump Watch! category as well as ‘refugee statistics’ and ‘where to find information.’
