Thousands of Somalis flowing across borders into Kenya…

…not, however, deterred by the fact that the borders are closed.   I know, they must have heard that the streets of Nairobi are paved with AOR’s* for sale.  From the Voice of America:

As the humanitarian crisis in Somalia worsens, the influx of Somali refugees into Kenya has grown sharply. This, despite Kenya’s closing its borders early last year. Human Rights Watch is calling on the Kenyan government, UN agencies and foreign donors to take action to help the refugees.

It looks like everyone is into corruption, so is it any surprise that Somalis were getting into the US fraudulently.

The influx of Somalis into Kenya came despite Kenya’s ordering the border closed in January 2007 due to the growing conflict in Somalia. Simpson says, “The closure has not come without a cost to refugees. Because the border is closed, the Somali refugees have to pay people smugglers, who take them across the border in order to avoid corrupt Kenyan police, who, if they catch the refugees, detain them, demand bribes from them. And we have testimony from refugees, who say that they have been detained in police stations inside the camps and in towns around the camps, where they were beaten and held in appalling conditions, and deported back to Somalia when they were not able to pay bribes.”

Where are the Somali refugees getting money to pay people smugglers and to buy the AOR’s?  Might it be from remittances from Somalis already in the US?

* AORs are Affidavits of Relationship used to bring so-called relatives to the US and are supplied by American “anchors.”

Unbelievable!  Take note citizens of welcoming towns like Ft. Morgan and Greeley, CO,  or not so thrilled towns like Postville, IA, Shelbyville, TN, and Grand Island, NE, the US State Department has confirmed that tens of thousands of Somalis have entered the US illegally through the US Refugee Admissions (P-3 family reunification) Program, possibly for as long as 20 years.

We had reported in August that random DNA testing demonstrated that 80% of those seeking entry into the US from African countries (mostly Somalis) were not related to those they claimed as relatives.  In light of that shocking revelation, the program was temporarily suspended.   A fact sheet, published today by the State Department, fills us in further on details of this outrage.

95% of immigrants using this program are from Africa.  36,000 alone came in the years since 2003 and as high (or higher!) than 80% of those are most likely here illegally.   So much for all the volag administrators telling the folks in these towns being swamped by Somalis that their new neighbors have been thoroughly screened by Homeland Security!   How do you screen someone when you don’t even know who they are?

Rumor has it that many of these illegal aliens bought their way into the US by purchasing Affidavits of Relationship on the streets of Nairobi.  (see the fact sheet for more on AOR’s)

So what I would like to know now is,  are we going to prosecute (and deport) the tens of thousands who have come to the US illegally for the LAST 20 YEARS?   According to this fact sheet, the next step is up to the Department of Homeland Security (in the Obama administration).

Convenient huh, the State Department has known about this fraud for months but only reports the details now when it is too late for the Bush Administration to do anything about it.   Just pass this African hot potato to the next President—The One with African roots.

Here are selected portions of the State Department’s bombshell fact sheet:

Q: What is this program?
 
A: A “Priority Three,” or “P-3 ” designation grants access to the US Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) to individuals of certain nationalities who are claimed as a parent, spouse, or minor child by certain legal residents in the United States. Priority One and Two applicants are granted access to the program through a referral by UNHCR, a U.S. Embassy or qualified NGO, or special direct registration programs based on the individual’s vulnerability and/ refugee characteristics. Being granted access to the program is only the first step, however. DHS must determine that an applicant, regardless of priority, is a refugee under U.S. law and is otherwise admissible.

Access to the USRAP based on family ties has been available to various nationalities since the 1980s. In recent years, applications to the P-3 program have been overwhelmingly African – primarily Somalis, Ethiopians and Liberians – accounting for some 95% of the P-3 applications.

Q: Why did the US decide to conduct DNA testing of some nationality groups applying for resettlement in the US?
 
A: The Departments of State and Homeland Security jointly decided to test a sample of refugee cases due to reported fraud in the P-3 program, particularly in Kenya.
 
Q: What is the rate of fraud that has been discovered?
 
 
 
A. The rate of fraud discovered varies among nationalities and from country to country, and is difficult to establish definitively as many individuals refused to submit DNA samples. We were, however, only able to confirm all claimed biological relationships in fewer than 20% of cases (family units). The remainder contained at least one negative result (fraudulent relationship) or refused to be tested.
Q: What measures will be taken against the thousands of refugees who have come into the United States through the P-3 program in the last 20 years?
 
A: That is a question for the Department of Homeland Security.
Q: Why did you only conduct DNA testing in Africa?
 
 A: We began in Africa because African P-3s have accounted for more than 95% of P-3 refugee arrivals worldwide in recent years. In addition, we received frequent reports – which were correct, as it turned out – that there was widespread fraud in the program there.
Q: How many relatives of refugees or asylees have come from Africa to the US via the P-3 program in recent years?
 
A. Since October 1, 2003, some 36,000 people have arrived from Africa through the P-3 program.
Q: How many P-3s were admitted to the United States, from elsewhere in the world, in recent years?
A:   Since October 1, 2003, some 400 people have arrived from other parts of the world through the P-3 program.

UNHCR being blamed for continued refugee crisis in South Africa

Rains are now making South African refugee camps into a living hell.   We’ve written on many previous occasions about deadly riots in the ‘Rainbow Nation’ last spring that resulted in the mostly illegal aliens being driven into camps for their protection.

Now the government, which had sent its Red Ants Security Service to dismantle the camps, wants the refugees to go back to their towns and reintegrate.   Of course they want to be resettled somewhere in the West.  The stalemate is on-going, and now it is being blamed on the UN which seems to be practicing ‘tough love’ for poor people.

Things got worse for the refugees when the camp was dismantled and all the tents provided by the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) were removed by the Red Ants in October.

Since then, the refugees have been living in makeshift shelters made of blankets and cardboard and relying on food donations for survival after rejecting the option of being reintegrated.

Many foreigners at the shelter said they had given up on getting help and blamed the UNHCR for the situation they now find themselves in, saying the organisation had failed to fulfil its mandate of protecting refugees.

They have asked to be resettled in other countries, but the UNHCR has maintained that resettlement is not an option as it is a lengthy process that could probably take two years to complete for each individual.

According to this report the UN has washed its hands of the situation.

However, both the council and the UNHCR are on record as having said there was nothing else they could do to help those who have refused to be reintegrated into their former communities.

Here is what I would like to know.  Instead of hauling refugees to the US at great expense and dumping them in unsuspecting cities, why aren’t the volags over in South Africa, on the ground, helping people?  Where are all the do-gooder organizations, the ones that advocate open borders?  Where is Church World Service for instance?  Where are the Alinsky (we love everyone) radicals?  Why aren’t they pressuring the UN to do its job.   And, in addition to physically helping them, they should be insisting the South African government help too.    Afterall, it was the open borders policy of South Africa that created the problem in the first place.

Gheesh, since when is it a conservative’s job to tell these people to get some heart!

Diversity is strength? Does that mean witchcraft too?

So it goes in the increasingly borderless world that elites are promoting, in opposition to our old-fashioned nations with unitary cultures.

The advantages of One-Worldism are much-touted. We hear much less about the darker side of human nature with its many dark corners of fear and ignorance.

The social progress we have made in America is threatened by the deluge of immigrants whose customs are incompatible with our values. We have a system of government and society which we run by principles based on reason, not the reading of entrails. And we would like to keep depending on rationality.

Remember this when the new President starts pressing for more African immigration and influence.

Somali girl stoned to death before a thousand spectators

This happened in Somalia, and I’m posting it here to give you an idea of the kind of people Muslim Somalis are.   A 13-year-old girl was stoned to death in front of a thousand on-lookers in a Somali city last week.  Her crime?  She reported that she had been gang raped and therefore commited adultery.

Some people reading this would be of the opinion that this just proves we need to bring Somalis to the US, but I see it quite the opposite—one more reason why we shouldn’t be resettling them in our towns and cities. 

MOGADISHU, Somalia — A 13-year-old girl who said she had been raped was stoned to death in Somalia after being accused of adultery by Islamic militants, a human rights group said.

Dozens of men stoned Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow to death Oct. 27 in a stadium packed with 1,000 spectators in the southern port city of Kismayo, Amnesty International and Somali media reported, citing witnesses. The Islamic militia in charge of Kismayo had accused her of adultery after she reported that three men had raped her, the rights group said.

And then get this!  There was debate about whether she was 13 or 23.  Who the hell cares!  She was brutally murdered as a spectator sport.

Initial local media reports said Duhulow was 23, but her father told Amnesty International she was 13. Some of the Somali journalists who first reported the killing later told Amnesty International that they had reported she was 23 based upon her physical appearance.
