Panic in India as illegal alien Muslims push into Assam and locals fight back

India’s Prime Minister:  “What is at stake is the unity and integrity of our country.”

We told you in a brief post just three weeks ago (here) that Rohingya (Bengali Muslims) were increasing pressure on the Assam region of India resulting in violence and spreading panic.   As a result of the aggression, hundreds of thousands of refugees have been created literally within a few days.

From the New York Times (that incidentally doesn’t use the word “Rohingya”).   Could it be that they have invested in the western media meme that the Rohingya are just poor, suffering, stateless and victimized Muslims?  No doubt, some are, but others are trained Islamists who understand how to create fear and chaos.

BRAJAKHAL, India — Like a fever, fear has spread across India this week, from big cities like Bangalore to smaller places like Mysore, a contagion fueling a message: Run. Head home. Flee. And that is what thousands of migrants from the country’s distant northeastern states are doing, jamming into train stations in an exodus challenging the Indian ideals of tolerance and diversity.

What began as an isolated communal conflict here in the remote state of Assam, a vicious if obscure fight over land and power between Muslims and the indigenous Bodo tribe, has unexpectedly set off widespread panic among northeastern migrants who had moved to more prosperous cities for a piece of India’s rising affluence.

A swirl of unfounded rumors, spread by text messages and social media, had warned of attacks by Muslims against northeastern migrants, prompting the panic and the exodus. Indian leaders, deeply alarmed, have pleaded for calm, and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh appeared in Parliament on Friday to denounce the rumor mongering and offer reassurance to northeastern migrants.

“What is at stake is the unity and integrity of our country,” Mr. Singh said. “What is at stake is communal harmony.”

300,000 people have become refugees!

Last week, the central government started moving to stabilize Assam, where at least 78 people have been killed and more than 300,000 have fled their homes for refugee camps. Then Muslims staged a large, angry protest in Mumbai, the country’s financial capital, on the western coast. A wave of fear began sweeping through the migrant communities after several people from the northeast were beaten up in Pune, a city not far from Mumbai.

The local Bodo people (mostly Hindu and Christian), an indigenous ethnic group that has long inhabited this region of India, is fighting to keep Muslims from over-running the territory.

Here in Assam, the underlying frictions are over the control of land, immigration pressures and the fight for political power. The savagery and starkness of the violence have been startling. Of the 78 people killed, some were butchered. More than 14,000 homes have been burned. That 300,000 people are in refugee camps is remarkable; had so many people fled across sub-Saharan Africa to escape ethnic persecution, a humanitarian crisis almost certainly would have been declared.

“If we go back and they attack us again, who will save us?” asked Subla Mushary, 35, who is now living with her two teenage daughters at a camp for Bodos. “I have visited my home. There is nothing left.”

Bengali Muslims ruthless against Hindu refugees

Although they don’t use the word ‘Rohingya,’ the “Bengali Muslims” raping Hindu women in a refugee camp in Burma (Myanmar) must be Rohingya.

From Rakhapura Media Group (hat tip: Janet):

Khine Myo Min: Myanmar government authority in Sittwe evacuated ninety eight Hindu refugees from Bengali Muslim dominated refugee camps to downtown Sittwe on Wednesday.

98 people from 18 Hindu families were moved from their current shelter of Thae Chaung and Thak Kay Pron camps to Sittwe city due to increased threats by Bengali Muslim extremists after many reported rapes and attempted rapes and tortures committed by the Bengali Muslims who are majority in the camp.

The transfer was carried out by two military trucks and the Hindu refugees are now living in a Hindu temple located on Mongbagree road.

An officer from Sittwe police station No (1) who do not wish to disclose his identity told RMG that 6 Hindu women including four teenage girls and two house wives were raped by Bengali Muslims during their stay in Thae Chaung camp. “We had to live in a cow butchery. They tried to feed us beef and theaten us with death if we don’t convert to Islam. Our kids had to stay inside for 24 hours to avoid beating and other kind of harassment by the Bengali Muslims. The most horrible thing is that our women are being raped one after another and those Bengali Muslim rapists became more daring when the authority did not take any actions. We have to keep guards for days and nights for the safety of our people there. Those periods are really bad in our life.”, a Hindu man shared about his experience in Thae Chaung camp.

Let me know when you see a story about this in the western mainstream media!  But, I won’t be holding my breath!

Saudis send money for Rohingya Muslims, but don’t want them in Saudi Arabia, why?

And, why should we worry about Cox’s Bazar?

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah announced yesterday that the kingdom will send $50 million to help Muslims in Burma in an obvious PR move.  However, we have other reports, including one new one from a Bangladeshi newspaper that says once again that Saudi Arabia has imprisoned hundreds of Rohingya in Jeddah.   So, what is the truth?

Here is Reuters on the King’s gift:

(Reuters) – Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah has ordered $50 million in aid be sent to a Muslim minority in Myanmar which a human rights group said has been targeted by the authorities since sectarian riots in June.

A report on the Saudi state news agency said the Rohingya community had been “exposed to many violations of human rights including ethnic cleansing, murder, rape and forced displacement”.

“King Abdullah … has ordered that assistance of the amount of $50 million be provided to the Rohingya Muslim citizens in Myanmar,” said the report which was carried by Saudi media on Sunday. It did not say who was to blame for the abuses.

Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Saudis will pow-wow tomorrow no doubt on how to keep the story going of the Rohingya Muslim “victims.”

Myanmar, where at least 800,000 Rohingyas are not recognised as one of the country’s many ethnic and religious groups, has said it exercised “maximum restraint” in quelling the riots.

Saudi Arabia sees itself as a guardian of global Muslim interests thanks to being the birthplace of Islam and home to some of the religion’s holiest sites in Mecca and Medina. However, Riyadh also regularly draws criticism from campaigners for its lack of democracy.

Last week the Saudi cabinet condemned the violence against Muslims in northwest Myanmar and at a meeting on July 31, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the kingdom’s second city of Jeddah urged members to send Rohingya Muslims aid.

The OIC is holding a summit in Mecca on Tuesday.

Now here is the other side of the story from a Dhaka news outlet—Rohingya getting illegal Bangladeshi passports and then getting into Saudi Arabia where many are arrested.

From The Daily Star:

The intrusion of Rohingyas from Myanmar and their overseas travel on fake Bangladeshi passports are big headaches for the authorities.

Once abroad, they commit different kinds of crime, thus tarnishing the image of Bangladesh. The problem has been unchallenged for long.

In June, these issues again came to the fore as several hundred Rohingyas fled sectarian violence in Myanmar and into Bangladesh through the bordering area of Cox’s Bazar.

The government high-ups have also expressed their concern about the problem and asked the authorities concerned to be on a state of alert.

Rohingya caused problems in Saudi Arabia?

Last month, the foreign ministry asked the deputy commissioners, especially of Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban, to take steps to ensure that no Rohingya got a Bangladeshi passport.

“Earlier, many Rohingyas had managed voter IDs and Bangladeshi passports. They went abroad and created huge problems in Saudi Arabia. So we have asked the local administration for a double-check,” Foreign Secretary Mijarul Quayes told journalists on July 11.

[…..]

Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabian authorities have arrested around 700 Rohingyas, who already made their way to the country with Bangladeshi documents, and kept them in a deportation centre in Jeddah, according to officials.

The Saudis are now pressing Bangladesh to take them back.

This trend of Rohingyas going abroad is also threatening the country’s labour market overseas.

Beware Cox’s Bazar:

There are around 30,000 registered Rohingya refugees at two camps in Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.

But roughly about half a million Rohingyas unofficially live in Cox’s Bazar and other areas of the Chittagong region.

Interestingly, one of the earliest posts in our Rohingya Reports category is this one from 2008 about Islamic terrorist groups gathering support from Rohingya refugees at Cox’s Bazar.   Here is a 2006 report from the Hudson Institute on the subject.  Note that even Time Magazine is linked with an even earlier story about recruitment in refugee camps at Cox’s Bazar.  (emphasis below is mine)

Hudson Institute:

In addition to minority flight, there have been other factors augmenting the relative power of the Islamists. Since 1991, perhaps as many as 300,000 Rohingya Muslims have entered Bangladesh across its southeastern border with Myanmar (Burma), a Jamaat-e-Islami stronghold.  Many reside between the port city of Cox’s Bazaar and the Myanmar border. Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing, the Islami Chatra League, have worked to radicalize these refugees, who are probably more susceptible to religious indoctrination after their persecution in Myanmar. Indeed, according to reports by human rights groups on local minorities, many of Harakat ul-Jihad Islami’s newest members are recruited from the Rohingya settlements.

And here is Time in 2002!

Today, southern Bangladesh has become a haven for hundreds of jihadis on the lam. They find natural allies in Muslim guerrillas from India hiding out across the border, and in Muslim Rohingyas, tens of thousands of whom fled the ethnic and religious suppression of the Burmese military junta in the late 1970s and 1980s. Many Rohingyas are long-term refugees, but some are trained to cause trouble back home in camps tolerated by a succession of Bangladeshi governments. The original facilities date back to 1975, making them Asia’s oldest jihadi training camps. And one former Burmese guerrilla who visits the camps regularly describes three near Ukhia, south of the town of Cox’s Bazar, as able to accommodate a force of 2,500 between them.

So, I guess the Saudis don’t want any Muslim riff-raff in the Kingdom, but by throwing some money in the Rohingya direction they can guilt-trip the Burmese government and bash some Buddhists.  And, maybe an extra added bonus will be to further make naive Western human rights groups clamor even more for the resettlement of Rohingya refugees to your town.

Vlad Tepes blog helping to expose lies about Muslims being killed en masse by Buddhists in Myanmar

Thanks to reader Dana for sending this blog post from Vlad Tepes where we are directed to this story (PakaAlert Press) about how social media is manipulating the news from Burma(Myanmar) on Rohingya Muslims supposedly being slaughtered by Buddhist monks.

The author, and investigator who reveals the photographs used to manipulate the news is himself a Muslim and says he does believe killing is going on.  Yes, it is, but the important point is that the Rohingya helped light the fuse on the most recent violence and I have no doubt they are being helped by outside Islamist agitators brought in to stir up the local population.

For new readers:  We have an entire category on Rohingya, here, with 116 previous posts going back nearly 5 years.  Our interest in the subject is because there was for years an internal debate within the US State Department about whether or not to bring Rohingya here to the US as refugees.  They resisted for years due to fears of Rohingya terrorist elements, but the resettlement has begun and an earlier link at the State Department website which listed Rohingya being connected to a terrorist group—HUJI-B—has been removed.   So far it’s only a trickle but you can be sure that the media drumbeat about Rohingya as victims, and supposedly completely blameless in recent violence, will only get louder.

By the way, there is a horrible case in Utah where a Burmese Muslim refugee (they don’t use the word Rohingya) murdered a little Christian Burmese girl in the apartment complex where they were resettled together by the multiculturalists in the refugee industry in spite of a history of longtime animosity toward each other in their home country.

Mayor angered by graffiti, says they welcome diversity in Concord, NH

Last year, hateful graffiti was written on the homes of some Concord refugees (here) and apparently no one was caught (that we ever heard of), but again graffiti has appeared on the home of another Somali refugee family in that city.

This is the story from New Hampshire Public Radio:

Concord’s mayor Jim Bouley says the city isn’t going to tolerate hate crime against its refugee residents. On Sunday morning, a racist message written in black permanent marker appeared on the house of a Somali family in the city’s South End. Bouley stopped by NHPR to talk about this latest incident, which was nearly identical to graffiti that appeared on three refugee homes last fall.

Mayor Jim Bouley says he’s angry about the graffiti because it doesn’t represent the Concord he’s come to know. He says the city has seen seen tremendous benefits from becoming more diverse. [I just wish for once someone would tell us exactly how the community benefits from the diversity!—ed]  Concord is home to about a thousand*** resettled refugees from countries like Bhutan and Somalia.

“My son is fourteen years old and he’s spent the last three years at Rundlett Junior High, and he has  a much better experience a much more enriched educational experience by just the sheer fact that we are a community of many, and we embrace all.”

The Mayor also says that the city has gone to great lengths to build bridges between Concord neighborhoods and refugees, especially in light of racist messages that appeared on three South End homes last September.

“We had the multicultural festival each year, we have soccer games that were encouraged  for all in the community to come and attend. This isn’t an incident where we rallied for one day and forgot about it, so to see these words, um, it’s absolutely disturbing.”

*** I just love this site!  Go to WRAPS and check out the diversity resettled in your town since 2007.   Of course, keep in mind that refugees resettled in Concord may have moved on and others have come in through secondary migration (that is where a refugee sent to X city decided to move to Concord to be with his or her own kind, you know, people of their own ethnicity).

According to the New Hampshire Dept. of Health and Human Services, here, there are several major federal contractors and subcontractors working with the US State Department to bring diversity to New Hampshire.

By the way, Nashua, NH was (is?) getting Rohingya Muslims, here.

From the WRAPS website, here is the diversity delivered to Concord since FY2007:

Bhutan….870

Burkina Faso….1

Burma….44

Burundi….58

Cameroon….4

Dem. Rep. of Congo….85

Eritrea….1

Ethiopia….3

Iran….3

Iraq….56

Liberia….7

Nigeria….5

Russia….5

Rwanda….10

Sierra Leone….1

Somalia….80

Sudan….18

Togo….6

Total…..1257 (the Democrat Mayor was close)

Here is my question, is there ever going to be a point in time for the multiculturalists and the diversity is beautiful advocates to say ‘O.K. we now have enough diversity‘?  What is that magic number or magic combination of ethnic groups for us to see and feel the ultimate harmony?  Can the Mayor tell us?
