Open Borders Leftists are mean and increasingly unhinged; HIAS demonstrates just how much!

The hypocrisy of the Left has been on full display with perhaps the ultimate example of that surrounding the McCain funeralathon we witnessed (or tried to escape from viewing!) recently.  They talk a good game about civility, but make no mistake, Leftists are mean people.

Forget vigorous debates about policy directions! It is personal destruction that is the primary weapon for the people who claim they are on the side of all that is right and good.

Stephen Millers uncle

I wasn’t planning to write about how the Hard Leftists in the Open Borders movement have been showcasing Leftwing family members of key players in the Trump sphere, most notably White House adviser Stephen Miller’s uncle (and his childhood rabbi is also out demeaning Miller), but did you see they have now dragged out Laura Ingraham’s estranged Leftwing brother to attack her in social media?  It is shameful.

I wasn’t going to write about all this, that is, until I saw this story at Jewish Exponent where we see that federal refugee contractor, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, is showcasing Miller’s uncle at their media events!  What a ‘get’, as they likely high-five each other!

I repeat, Leftists are very mean people.

Agencies Address Refugee Program Concerns

A graph set up against the wall in the Nationalities Services Center (NSC) had towers of blue bars, varying in heights.

HIAS Philadelphia
No mention of how many people were in the audience. And, no caption for the photo.  That must be Miller’s mean Leftist uncle on the right.

The bars represent U.S. refugee resettlement arrivals from fiscal year 1980 — where the ceiling was set to 200,000 — to today with the fiscal year 2019 projection. The annual ceiling is now set at 45,000. Projections indicate that number could change to just 25,000.

In response, NSC, HIAS Pennsylvania and Bethany Christian Services of Greater Delaware Valley joined together to hold a panel discussion and conference on Sept. 6 about the dangers a drop that low could present for these agencies and the refugees they serve.

The danger that the biased media rarely mentions is that refugee contractors, like HIAS (one of nine contractors that monopolize refugee resettlement in the US), which got nearly $25 million from US taxpayers in a recent year and whose CEO makes a cool $300,000+ annual salary, are in danger of losing their sugar daddy—Uncle Sam!

The Jewish Exponent continues….

The U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program is on “life support,” NSC executive director Margaret O’Sullivan said.

“We are here to call attention to the potential evisceration of a program that has served as a point of pride for this nation for 40 years,” she said. “The current administration has been dismantling the program with stealth and with precision.”

As is usual, HIAS paraded out the most deserving refugees they could find, but clearly their star attraction was Stephen Miller’s uncle.

David S. Glosser, a neuropsychologist who volunteers with HIAS and gained name recognition for penning an essay condemning his nephew, Stephen Miller — senior adviser to Trump — and his anti-refugee remarks, shared the story of ancestors facing anti-Semitism and seeking refuge.

[….]

When he mentioned his family receiving help from Hebrew Immigrant and Aid Society as it was called then, HIAS PA Executive Director Cathryn Miller-Wilson smiled.

Longtime readers know that a few years back the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society dropped the ‘Hebrew’ from its name and became simply HIAS. There was never any coherent explanation about why they dropped the ‘Hebrew.’  Were they ashamed of the word?

I suspected that it had something to do with the fact that they place Muslim refugees and perhaps some of those refugees were squeamish about the word ‘Hebrew.’ Just a guess!

What follows next at the Jewish Exponent is a naive discussion about how today’s refugees (like those from the Middle East and Africa) are just like the Jewish refugees of yesteryear.  Of course they aren’t for a couple of reasons.

When Miller’s ancestors came, they were mostly culturally Europeans and there was no massive welfare system to support them. They worked hard and made it on their own with the help of their family. If they didn’t make it, they went back to the old country.

There was no taxpayer-funded NGO to take care of their every need!

Then here is the wrap of course!

….he and Miller-Wilson stressed, reach out to elected officials and vote.

No one to blame but themselves for “job jeopardy” as refugee numbers drop

Why?

Because the refugee agencies have failed over the years to raise private money for their ‘charitable’ good works (to tide them over) and have become completely dependent on you—the US taxpayers—to pay for their ‘humanitarian’ hobby.

Scratching your head and wondering why these non-profits (during this slowdown) can’t just take better care of (and give their love to) the refugees they have resettled over the previous years?

Margaret O'Sullivan
Margaret O’Sullivan is waiting to see how this is going to go! http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs166/1102467260055/archive/1115993366111.html

Then you need to know that federal dollars flow to these quasi-government ‘non-profits’ on a per refugee head basis.  The love stops when the money does!

No refugees=no payola. You might even liken it to a ponzi-scheme.

If there was so much public support for refugee resettlement, why couldn’t ‘charitable’ organizations like those whining in Philly have done all the normal activities that legitimate non-profits do to raise PRIVATE money—hold fundraising events, galas, bake sales, telethons, solicit corporate donations, etc.?

The answer is that it became too damn easy to dip into taxpayers’ wallets….

(And evidently the general public isn’t that interested in supporting this type of charity!)

Now we see headlines like this one at the Philadelphia Inquirer:

Trump’s travel-ban casualties: Laid-off refugee workers

philly loves refugees

Here are a few snips of the story meant to make it look like Trump is the meany while no mention about how groups like these are funded:

President Trump’s travel ban stalled the hopes of thousands of refugees overseas, and now it’s taking something crucial from workers who help the world’s most vulnerable people.

Their jobs.

Resettlement agencies in the Philadelphia region have laid off staff and left positions empty as the flow of refugees slows to a trickle. One organization cut half of its specialized staff, and another has asked senior employees to take unpaid time off.

“It’s a tortuous situation,” said Margaret O’Sullivan, executive director of the Nationalities Service Center in Philadelphia. “We’re all waiting to see which way this is going to go.”

Ms. O’Sullivan (Nationalities Service Center)*** is referring to the decision expected at any time now from the Trump Administration about how many impoverished refugees (aka paying clients) the US will ‘welcome’ to American towns and cities beginning October 1.  We have been advocating suspending the program, see here.

Job jeopardy:

“We’re struggling,” said Peter Gottemoller, director of Pennsylvania refugee programs for Bethany Christian Services.

Bethany has laid off more than half of its 20-person resettlement staff in offices in Allentown and Lancaster and in Montgomery County, “and there probably will be other layoffs coming down,” he said, “because we’re not going to get in the expected number of folks.” [And, the reporter must never have asked, so what is the connection, can’t you keep helping those already here?—ed]

More here.

*** Nationalities Service Center is an USCRI affiliate. A recent Form 990 shows that $2.9 million of their total gifts/grants of $3.7 million came from the government (you).

Below are the nine major contractors that are in most cases completely dependent on your tax dollars.

USCRI is approximately 98% funded by you (from the US Treasury).

The only way for real reform of how the US admits refugees is to remove these contractors/Leftwing activists/lobbyists from the process.

Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society bringing Syrian Muslims to Philly

This is a longish story meant to be warm and fuzzy about how the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society*** is injecting diversity into crime-ridden Philly.  That should be really good for the struggling African Americans there, but who cares about them, HIAS is being paid to do a job.  This is a business.
The reporter has the facts down fairly well and I recommend reading it, especially for Pennsylvania residents who should know that your state is in the top ten resettlement states in the nation right now.

rona-buchalter
HIAS’s Philly rep Rona Buchalter is worried about what Trump will do once he arrives at the White House. Bio and photo are at HIAS’s website: http://hiaspa.org/rona-buchalter

I quibble with the selective reporting here where we are told that the refugees get $1,125 each (from US taxpayers). To be completely accurate it should be mentioned that the contractor (HIAS here) gets an equal amount for its payment to do their ‘charitable’ work.  All of the contractors are quaking in their boots now as the wait to see what Donald Trump does after Friday because cutting the numbers means cutting their income!

HIAS Pennsylvania is an affiliate of one of those nine organizations that receives funding from the U.S. Department of State to resettle refugees. They are funded to provide initial casework and help refugees spend $1,125 per person they get in assistance from the government to pay for housing, groceries, bills and other necessities. From there, it’s enrolling kids in school, finding adults work and getting families integrated into their communities. Quickly.

By the way, I once had an American, who was trying to help a new refugee family in his neighborhood, contact me to ask why the refugee doesn’t get the full $2,250 because the contractor was not helping the family. Why? This is a business!

How many Syrians since the beginning of the 2017 fiscal year?

I haven’t checked the Syrian numbers at Wrapsnet lately, so checked just now.

In the first 3 and 1/2 months of the fiscal year (it began on Oct. 1, 2016) we have admitted 4,005 Syrians, and 98% are Muslims.

Here is where they were ‘planted’ in Pennsylvania from October 1, 2016 to January 15, 2017:

98% of Syrians arriving in US are Muslims.

For new readers, know that it was HIAS which first directed the Southern Poverty Law Center to investigate RRW, see here.
***They don’t want to be called by their full name anymore, they changed it to HIAS (why was that?).

Diversity is strength alert! Albanian ‘youths’ arrested, charged with hate crime in NY…

…. also update below on Albanian gangsters in Philadelphia.

Before you read on please see one of several posts we have written on how the Clinton Administration opened the flood gates to mostly Muslim Albanian so-called ‘refugees’ in 1999, here.  By the way, I just a week or so ago printed out the damning National War College Report by David M. Robinson, but it appears to now be unavailable. (See if you can access it, it is linked in that post I just mentioned.)

Your typical clean-cut white teens out to harass Jews in a NY mall? Gee I wonder what their motivation might be! Hint! It ain’t about skin color! http://westchester.news12.com/news/yonkers-teen-charged-with-assault-as-hate-crime-1.9739452

From Lohud (hat tip: ‘Pungentpeppers’):

WEST NYACK – Two teenagers accused of rampaging through the Palisades Center on Black Friday and attacking people, including two Orthodox Jews, have been charged with assault as a hate crime, Clarkstown police said Tuesday.

Chris Bujaj, 17, of Tuckahoe and Ardijan Mehaj, 17, of Yonkers were charged with the felony hate crime after two Orthodox men were called “dirty Jews” during the assault at the shopping center, police said.

Police are still looking for a third man who participated in the attacks, which left five people injured during a 2:30 to 3:30 a.m. spree on the year’s busiest shopping day.

[….]

“There was no reason for the attacks, except for possible intoxication or just looking for trouble,” Detective Lt. Glen Dietrich told The Journal News in early December. “They were kind of grabbing people and punching them.”  [No reason?  Did anyone ask them if the ‘Religion of Peace’ motivated the attack on the Jews?—ed]

[….]

The victims told officers that the trio had eastern European accents, possibly Russian or Albanian. [names are Albanian—ed]

They subsequently arrested the third attacker.  See here.

Albanian gangsters found guilty in Philadelphia

This is an update on the story we first reported here.  And, also thanks to crime investigator ‘Pungentpeppers’ for spotting it.

From News 12 Westchester:

A federal jury on Dec. 15 found four area men guilty of racketeering for their roles in a gambling and loan-sharking ring that operated in several Mayfair businesses.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office identified Ylli Gjeli, 49, as the “boss” of the operation and Fatimir “Tony” Mustafaraj, 42, as the “muscle.” Those two directed other members of the conspiracy in loan-sharking and illegal gambling activities, including Gezim “Sam” Asllani, 35, and Rezart Rahmu “Luigi” Telushi, 41. All four defendants were Philadelphia residents. At the time of their August 2013 indictment, authorities identified them as natives of Albania or of Albanian heritage, although all are naturalized citizens of the United States.

By the way, when cities like Pittsburgh fall for those economic studies that they say show how refugees bring economic prosperity to cities, do they ever factor in the costs involved in the criminal justice system?

The plot thickens in the Philadelphia immigration fraud arrest of Hayatullah Dawari

We told you about Dawari, an Afghan “convenience store clerk” who is also supposed to be a doctor, arrested on immigration fraud charges here a couple of days ago.  Now we learn that Dawari may have been passing coded messages glued in religious books from a terrorist group which he allegedly then sent on to others.

I’ve looked around at several reports on the case and can’t find a photo of Dawari (if someone does, please send it and I’ll insert it), and I have found no mention of how he got into the US in 2008—he very well could have been a refugee (or a successful asylum seeker) in order to now be ready for citizenship so quickly.

Here is another story from earlier in the week which contains the indictment.

The feds really should check EBT records for his convenience store to see if there is any sign of trafficking in food stamps that might have yielded a windfall for a foreign terrorist group.

Asst. US Attorney Williams: the note appears to direct some urgent action.

From Philly.com yesterday (hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’):

A 62-year-old Afghan doctor detained in Philadelphia this week on immigration fraud charges received and passed along coded messages from an anti-Western terror group with ties to al-Qaeda, federal prosecutors said.

At a court hearing Friday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Arbittier Williams said FBI agents discovered the documents written in Pashto and hidden between glued pages of religious tracts mailed to Hayatullah Dawari’s Northeast Philadelphia home.

The package, intercepted during a January raid, came from Pakistan and included instructions to forward several books inside to various people across the United States.

A later search uncovered a coded message similar to that found in Dawari’s possession at the home of another associate in Philadelphia.

“The note, when translated from Pashto to English, appears to contain a message directing some urgent action,” Williams said.

[…..]

Dawari, his lawyer said Friday, worked as a doctor in his home country – cooperating with American Red Cross efforts as part of American military operations in Afghanistan – before moving to Philadelphia in 2008 [Could he have gotten into the US on a Special Immigrant Visa for those who helped the US in Afghanistan?—ed]. Since his arrival here, Dawari has become an active member of his mosque and a legal permanent resident, and was seeking citizenship to cement his life in America, Tinari said.

Though he recently became disabled, he worked for years as a convenience store clerk.
