Sweden: Immigration controversy heats up as mosque is set ablaze

Update December 31st:  Richard at Blue Ridge Forum directs us to this story with updates—oopsy! Looks like there may not have been an intentional fire set by right wing Islamophobic fanatics after all!

Update December 30th:  Another Swedish mosque arson, here.

At least that is what the media wants you to think happened in Eskilstuna.  We’ll see if a right-winger (Afrophobia!) is responsible or if it is the result of one of those Somali on Somali clan grievances.

Police said between 15 and 20 people were in the mosque in the Swedish town of Eskilstuna when the fire broke out at around noon on Thursday. Of the five injured, two were treated for smoke inhalation, two suffered lacerations and one a foot injury.

Police said they were treating the fire, which forced the evacuation of several nearby apartments, as an arson.

“A witness saw somebody throw an object through the window of the building, which serves as a mosque, after which a violent fire began,” police spokesman Lars Franzell said.

There was no word on the possible identity of the suspect and there was no immediate claim of responsibility. The mosque is used primarily by Somali Muslims in the town, according to the KNA news agency. Eskilstuna is located about 90 kilometers (56 miles) west of Stockholm.

Political debate over immigration

The apparent arson attack comes amid a growing political debate over immigration in the country, which has traditionally been seen as welcoming to immigrants.

UN blasts Sweden for “Afrophobia”

Move over Islamophobia!  For all of you who don’t want to see your countries overrun, the United Nations has identified a new phobia they claim you are suffering from.

By the way, there is a lot going on in Europe right now and if it seems we are spending too much time discussing the invasion, we aren’t.  What is happening in places like Sweden offers a profoundly important message we all better heed (and quickly).

ISTANBUL — Sweden, a European country known for its long history of openness and tolerance, now suffers from growing racial discrimination towards people of sub-Sahara African descent. In response to “a heightened xenophobic and racist attitude against migrants and refugee communities with African descent,” the United Nations called on the Swedish government to take significant measures to end “Afrophobia” within the country.

“Afro-Swedes and Africans with whom we met expressed their experiences of multiple forms of discrimination based on their skin color, race, religion and sex,” the U.N. human rights experts said, following a five-day official visit to Sweden. The working group urged the Swedish government “to develop a Human Rights Strategy and other measures that would address racial discrimination against Afro-Swedes and Africans.”

Then get a chuckle here.  They don’t tell you that the recent riots*** were perpetrated by the immigrants.

As hate crimes prevail within the country, Sweden was hit by riots over the weekend. During heavy clashes between protesters and police in a poor suburb in Sweden’s capital of Stockholm, 11 young people were arrested for rioting and arson. Many Swedish suburbs with a large immigrant population have been hit by violence, as many fear that it could further boost the far-right anti-immigration movement in Swedish society.

So here is the lesson we should all learn from “welcoming” Sweden.  They invited the world to come and partake of their generous society and what do they get?—a kick in the teeth for it.

Sweden’s reputation as an open society has been deteriorating as more people of African descent are subjected to racial discrimination. As the world continues to suffer from conflicts and political extremism, Sweden received the most asylum applications in the world from 2009 through 2013, according to the U.N. refugee agency, and the country expects that the number of asylum seekers in 2015 will break records. “Our society should be prepared to receive between 80,000 and 105,000 asylum seekers in 2015,” said Sweden’s Migration Board, the government agency in charge of handling immigration issues. Sweden’s refugee policy is also praised by many international humanitarian agencies, as it stepped up its efforts for Syrians by granting permanent residency to refugees fleeing the conflict. In light of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Syria, Sweden opened its borders to all Syrian asylum seekers by granting them permanent residency.

However, Sweden’s liberal policy towards refugees has resulted in decreasing tolerance in Swedish society toward immigrants. [NO kidding!—ed] In the face of a massive influx of refugees and asylum seekers, Swedish nationalism has been on the rise, as far-right groups are deeply critical of the center-left government’s policies towards immigration.

Swedes fearful their welfare system won’t survive the Middle East migrant onslaught

Middle Easterners make up 30,000 of Sodertalje’s population of 90,000!

 

The story is being reported at one of America’s left-leaning news outlets—National Public Radio.  In this case, we are told that the “refugees” flooding into Sodertalje are mostly Syrian and Iraqi Christians—very needy ones.  The unemployment rate is high for the immigrants who must first learn to speak Swedish and there is a desperate shortage of housing.

Sweden’s migration board projects that 95,000 people, many of them refugees from Syria, are expected to arrive in 2015. That would be a record in this country of 10 million people, which already has taken in more refugees, relative to its population, than any other country in Europe.

But the arrival of so many refugees is testing the country’s famously tolerant identity.

Swedes voted out centrist Prime Minister Frederik Reinfeldt this September after he gave a speech asking people to “open their hearts” to those fleeing war.

Instead, an anti-immigrant party, the Sweden Democrats, won seats in parliament and helped bring down the center-left government of Prime Minister Stefan Lofven earlier this week.

One member of the Sweden Democrats, Linus Byland, told reporters they would fight any government proposal that would increase funding for immigration.

“There was a sense that our government didn’t have a clear plan for how to manage immigration,” says Boel Godner, the mayor of Sodertalje. “And the question that has come up lately, is, can the welfare system bear us all? What’s going to happen to everyone who comes here? No one has given the answer to that yet.”

Sweden’s cradle to grave welfare system can’t possibly bear them all, so I guess we all sit back and learn an important lesson about what happens when a country runs out of other peoples’ money.

Sweden: Muslim immigrant gangs control no-go zones

This is not new news for readers of RRW.  This is the inevitable result of Sweden swinging wide its gates to Muslim phony asylum seekers for years and more proof for my contention that Sweden will be the first European country to fall in the ‘Invasion of Europe.’

OMG! Can you imagine the day when Muslim gangs torch cars in America!

The situation in the gang-controlled no-go zones of Sweden is deteriorating rapidly. Following the police report conceding the areas to the primarily Muslim immigrant gangs, the Swedish ambulance union is now demanding military grade protection gear to enter the no-go zones.

There have been a number of violent incidents lately, where thugs attack ambulances responding to calls in the zones. Thugs have slashed the tires of the ambulances, smashed their windshields and hurled large rocks from overpasses, while the paramedics themselves are subjected to both armed and unarmed physical violence on a regular basis. The situation has become so dire that the ambulance union now demands dramatically improved protection for its members.

Hate crimes are one-directional!

White citizens are haters, but immigrants can never be racists and perpetrators of hate crimes (actually come to think of it, during his tenure at the Justice Department, US Attorney General Eric Holder has been trying to get that concept into American law too!):

Ethnic Swedes are also being attacked. Local celebrity Linda Edenström’s 12-year old son was savagely beaten. In October, he took the subway after school to give a birthday present to a girl in his class. He was unaware she lived in a no-go zone, and when he exited the station he was promptly stopped by seven grown immigrants. They declared that no whites were allowed and proceeded to attack him while hurling anti-white slurs.

Swedish law states that the incident is not a hate crime. The law does not apply to an immigrant targeting a native Swede, even if an immigrant does so while explicitly stating they are doing it for racial reasons. However, the reverse situation with a native Swede saying a slur that could be perceived as racist has severe civil and criminal charges.

Sweden: Overweight Somali women in western countries causing increase in some diseases

So, I’m guessing that Sweden doesn’t have its own version of the food police. No Michelle Obama?

Here is one more example of the extra costs related to admitting certain ethnic groups to countries where views on health are diametrically opposed to what it is where they came from.

Physical inactivity presents a major public health challenge and is estimated to cause six to ten percent of the major non-communicable diseases. Studies show that immigrants, especially women, have an increased risk of non-communicable diseases compared to ethnic Swedes. Somali immigrant women have increased rates of overweight and obesity, low fitness levels and low levels of cardiorespiratory fitness compared to non-immigrant women. These findings suggest that Somali women are at increased risk of developing lifestyle-related diseases. Few studies explore determinants of physical activity among Somali women. The aim of this study was to explore Somali women’s views and experiences of physical activity after migration to Sweden. A qualitative focused ethnographic approach was used in this study.

Another Somali woman who dares to challenge Islam is of course Ayan Hirsi Ali.  Wouldn’t you think she would be embraced by young western women instead of being vilified?
