Who do we complain to about a refugee issue?

That is a question we have been getting with more frequency.    So, here is the answer!

Eric P. Schwartz, the new, just sworn in, Assistant Secretary for Population, Refugees and Migration in the US State Department.   I first told you about his nomination here, and just this past week he was sworn in at the State Department, here.

If you want to tell him what you think about the program for any reason— refugees not being cared for by their federal contractor, too many refugees in your city/state, any criminal elements, news clips about unhappy refugees from your local papers, incompatible religious/cultural practices you see going on, health issues and so on and so forth—write to him.  You can be angry, but be polite!

Eric P. Schwartz

Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration

US Dept. of State

2201 C St. NW

Washington, DC 20520

AND DON’T FORGET!  Any letter you send to him should be copied to your Senators and Representative in Congress, with a question.  That is, you need to ask your elected officials to do something, answer a question for you, not just copy the letter otherwise they will ignore it.   Well, they might ignore it anyway, but you have a better shot at getting some action if you ask them to take action!

North Carolina: Food Stamp Fraud Alert, and more!!

I just finished telling you about a Florida Food Stamp Scam and now here comes one from Greenville, North Carolina this past week.  This one is a whopper and goes way beyond Food Stamps.   Federal, State and local law enforcement called the investigation “Operation Inconvenience.”   Don’t you love their sense of humor!

Greenville police shut down four convenience stores in crime-plagued areas of the city Thursday for suspected money laundering, fencing and other illegal activities after a long-term investigation dubbed Operation Inconvenience.

Officers cordoned off the Greenville Stop One and Stop Two off of Farmville Boulevard; the Pitt Stop One store on Hooker Road near J.H. Rose High School; and the Superfresh store on Dickinson Avenue south of 10th Street.

State, local and federal warrants were served against nine people connected with the stores. The men were transported to Pitt County Detention Center as federal inmates with no bond amount set. It’s unclear how long the stores will remain closed.

So, lets see, who were the perps?  Some local southern boys?  Surely not those nice Middle Eastern folks the federal government has been importing to small town America—to bring strength through diversity!

Arrested

Listed here are suspects arrested by Greenville police and federal agents during Operation Inconvenience, along with the stores where they worked and the charges filed against them. Names and addresses were not provided by police, nor was the number of counts for each charge.

Charges

Interstate transport of stolen property, receiving stolen property, wire fraud, theft of government funds, conspiracy, money laundering.

Ahmed Y. Abdullah, Pitt Stop One.

Fahmi Abdullah, Pitt Stop One

Yasir Abdullah, Pitt Stop One

Mohamed Hussein, Pitt Stop One

Ahmed Alwarek, Greenville Stop One, Greenville Stop Two

Ali Mohamed, Greenville Stop Two

Charges Felony receiving stolen property, misdemeanor receiving stolen property, aiding and abetting receipt of stolen goods.

Tareq M. Zeidan, Superfresh

Sudki M. Zeidan, Superfresh

Fadi Hamida, Superfresh (still sought)

Enough said.

Florida: Food Stamp Fraud Alert!

I think this is the first time I’ve reported on an immigrant Food Stamp scam in Florida—lots of other states, but this is my first from the Sunhine State.    For new readers these are big immigrant scams, not the small stuff you might think of where someone is buying some banned item, or lying to officials.  This is hundreds of thousands of dollars of fraud.

The gist of it is that the immigrant (probably an Indian Muslim in this Florida case) opens a ‘mom & pop’ convenience store or a little gas station and they then pay customers 50 cents on the dollar for their stamps—customer gets cash gratus the taxpayer and store owner turns the stamp in to the feds for its full one dollar value.

We have loads of these stories here at RRW, a subject that caught my attention when one such scam was revealed in our county seat—turned in by local folks and now the scammer is doing time!

Here is the Florida case today:

TAMPA – A 33-year-old Tampa man has been sentenced to 21 months in federal prison for food stamp fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The court also entered a money judgment of $390,000 for the proceeds of the fraud, a U.S. Attorney’s Office news release states.

Naushad Shahabuddin pleaded guilty in March to the offense. He had conducted the fraud scheme out of Quick Check Food Mart in Clearwater.

The case prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Terry Zitek was investigated by the state Department of Law Enforcement, the U.S.Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Secret Service.

How do all these immigrants get set up in these stores?  I’m guessing that some come in as E-2 Treaty Investors, here.    Use our search function for ‘food stamp fraud’ to see all of our posts on the subject, or visit our ‘crimes’ category.

I can just see it now, advertisements in the Middle East for training seminars on how to get into America and turn your original investment into a fortune by scamming those gullible diversity-is-beautiful Americans.

Coincidentally, food stamp use is up dramatically among refugees, it was up already by 2006, here.    But then who knows when those numbers will improve in light of Obama’s sinking economy.

Be vigilant, and be on the lookout for Food Stamp Fraud where you live!

Al-Shabab wants Shariah law in Somalia (the world eventually!); leader mocks Obama

I’m posting this Voice of America article to show what Al-Shabab (sometimes Al-Shabaab) in Somalia is doing and the kind of life it wants for the people of Somalia.  And, this is what our Somali former refugee youths are going to Somalia to participate in?

Seven beheaded:

Al-Shabab militants in the south-central Somali town of Baidoa have beheaded seven people in what is believed to the largest mass execution carried out in Somalia by the al-Qaida-linked group since 2006.

According to relatives of the victims, the charges against the seven Somalis ranged from being Christians to spying for the Transitional Federal Government. They say none of the people were tried before the executions were carried out on Friday.

Women are the property of men:

Al-Shabab follows the ultra-conservative Wahabi tenet of Islam and its fighters have imposed strict Islamic laws in areas they control. They have forced women to cover their faces, segregated men and women in public places, and have banned music and all forms of entertainment.

They have also punished thieves by cutting off limbs and have stoned women accused of adultery. Beheadings have been relatively rare, but their numbers have been increasing. Last month, al-Shabab beheaded three people in the same region.

Could be considered a war crime?  Could be?  This is such a joke, so what is the big bad UN going to do about it?

On Friday, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, said carrying out such punishments without due process violated Somali and international laws and could be considered as war crimes.

Foreign fighters in Somalia (Americans too!):

The al-Shabab-led insurgency has attracted hundreds of foreign fighters to Somalia in recent months. Many of them have been seen fighting alongside al-Shabab in Mogadishu streets. Al-Shabab’s ranks are also believed to be growing from new recruits trained at various camps set up by al-Shabab in southern Somalia.

In a related story (virtually unreported except by Fox News) a couple of days ago, American al-Shabab leader mocked Obama!

An American who left the United States to join an Al Qaeda-linked group in Somalia is strongly condemning President Obama’s efforts to seek “a new beginning” with the Muslim world, mocking Obama’s “magic of charisma” and warning of more attacks against U.S. interests.

“Despite the fact that you have been … forced [by Muslim fighters] to at least pretend to extend your hand in peace to the Muslims, we cannot and shall not extend our hands,” said the man in the audiotape, identified by the Washington-based Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) as Abu Mansour al-Amriki. “Rather, we shall extend to you our swords, until you leave our lands.”

The 20-minute audiotape, called “The Beginning of the End,” was posted Thursday on several jihadist web sites as a direct response to Obama’s much-publicized speech in Cairo on June 4, when he promised “a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world.”

“Let this not come as a surprise to those who are mesmerized by Obama’s speech in Cairo, our positions … have not changed in the least,” al-Amriki said, in the transcription provided by MEMRI. “If we study his words carefully, we can note very clearly that this new beginning is still heavily based upon American interests … [Obama spoke] not because he loves the Muslims he lived with in Indonesia, as a boy, but rather, it is because the only way to defeat the Muslims is by distracting them with this temporary life.”

Al-Amriki tells us what Obama and his Leftwing (diversity is beautiful) supporters never seem to understand:

Al-Amriki, speaking in English throughout the audio tape, also said Obama’s speechwriters made “one major miscalculation.”

“A Muslim doesn’t look to peace, security, education, work, or the love of any other number of things as his ultimate goals,” al-Amriki said. “Instead, a Muslim is always working and striving to please the one true Creator.”

A small brave group of American Somalis understand all this and is trying to save their young men from Al-Amriki’s recruitment campaign.  They need our support.  See my post yesterday entitled, “Something remarkable is happening in Minneapolis,” here.

For new readers, we have followed the Somali missing youths story since last November, see links here to all of our posts on the topic.

Atlas Shrugs: Sarah Palin the real deal!

Check our our friend Pamela Geller at her great blog, Atlas Shrugs, for her vlog on Sarah Palin.   I was going to apologize and say that her ten minute video is off topic for us, but it isn’t, and I won’t.  It is right on and I agree with Pamela completely.

See my post of two days ago about how the Alinsky (Rules for Radicals) strategy is being used against Palin.  The Radical Left running the country (including some RINOs who have fallen for it) are using Alinsky’s rule 13 to “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”  That is the same strategy Obama tried unsuccessfully on Rush Limbaugh earlier this year, here.   They are also employing Rule 5:  that’s the ridicule rule.

What does all this have to do with immigrants?  The Left is using the poor and angry immigrants they are importing by the hundreds of thousands to destabilize communities, to bring chaos and “change.”   That is the fundamental tenet behind the Alinsky/Cloward-Piven/Soros/Rathke/Obama strategy.

America’s own impoverished people were moving into the middle class, we didn’t have enough angry poor for “community organizers” to organize.   Enter the refugees and immigrants for whom we need to have sympathy because most (excepting the Islamists)  just want a better life and don’t understand that they are kept as struggling “victims” and on welfare for a reason.
