I’ve mentioned ‘processing countries’ from time to time over the years with a special animus for the program (initiated during the Bush Admin) to bring ‘refugees’ in to the US from Malta.
These ‘refugees’ are primarily economic migrants (but what else?) who crossed the Mediterranean from North Africa in hopes of getting farther north in Europe. For some never-explained reason we take hundreds to America every year.
So this morning when I wrote about how NGOs are being accused of aiding and abetting the human traffickers to Europe, I mentioned processing countries again.
I thought it would be a good idea now to bring this to the attention of the Trump transition team and Members of Congress who care about our security. How can we possibly know who these wandering (mostly Muslim) ‘refugees’ are? And, since most are being processed first by the United Nations, can we trust the UN?
We are entitled to know which ethnic groups come through these processing countries!
We know from news reports that Syrians are coming in from Turkey and Jordan. We are still bringing thousands from Iraq. We know that a large number of the Somalis come to the US from Kenya, but we know from news reports that Somalis make their way all over the world and get to such odd places as Pakistan, Malaysia, South Africa (the rainbow nation!) and Malta and then we pick them up as refugees (if they are legit refugees why didn’t they just go to the UN camps in Kenya?).
Hint to Trump team: Note that we take zero Somalis directly from Somalia so you won’t be able to say we are pausing immigration from Somalia, you must refer to the ethnic group no matter where in the world we get them!
I want you to have a look at the numbers (screenshot below) of those who have come in the US in just the first two months of the fiscal year (October 1, 2016 to November 30, 2016), many from countries where they would have been perfectly safe. (Having fun with geography!)
BTW, it is important to capture this information now because by the end of the next month, these maps disappear down some black hole at Wrapsnet.org (or at least I can’t find them!).

Baltimore: Crime/murder rates up, police force shrinking, and we are told refugees are bringing boom times
Of course consider the source of this glowing tale of how Baltimore’s economy is on the mend thanks to the large numbers of refugees and immigrants helping to revitalize the community. The fluffy story is being peddled by non-other than Think Progress (think George Soros and John Podesta!).
But, first don’t miss the news from Reuters just two days ago about how Baltimore can’t find enough policemen for a dwindling force while the murder rate skyrockets.
Does it ever occur to the social engineering geniuses in the refugee resettlement industry/open borders movement that social unrest in inner cities could be coming from forcing ethnic diversity on a struggling African American community? Do the American citizens see the special treatment refugees receive and does that cause some of the simmering anger to explode? (Remember we learned here that rioting blacks targeted the Arab-owned stores in those riots last year.)
Here is the Think Progress story that begins with the usual warm and fuzzy tale of a refugee ‘making it’ in Baltimore. (Don’t forget our news from yesterday about the storytelling propaganda campaign being spearheaded by the UN’s ‘The Hive.’)
We know from our research that refugees receive special grants and other loan programs that allow them to purchase homes and businesses—programs not available to the local African American community. Refugees also have special auto purchasing programs funded by you.
Some local politicians see refugee resettlement as a way to revitalize their cities and to harness talent and skills for entry-level jobs that many native-born Americans may not necessarily want to do. [What is this, ‘may not necessarily want to do?’ Might they necessarily want to do it if wages were higher? Aren’t wages depressed when large numbers of low-skilled refugees move in?—ed]

Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has seen the value in resettling refugees in her town. Foreign-born workers earned about $1 billion in wages in 2011, with immigrants holding more than 27,000 jobs. They also own 21 percent of the city’s businesses, about three times more than the native-born population, a Baltimore City government report found. Beyond Baltimore, many other cities have found that resettling refugees could help grow the economy by allowing refugees to buy homes, learn English, and eventually become citizens. [Think Progress of course does not report on how much the immigrants take from the community in social service costs, school expenses, and certainly the criminal justice system!—ed]
So the star of this story came to the US after being an illegal alien in Malta!
Switching subjects! This is the first time I have seen a media reference to the fact that ever since the Bush Administration the US State Department has been scooping up aliens/economic migrants who came to the island nation of Malta from North Africa ILLEGALLY, and presto-chango declaring them refugees! I’ve been writing about this subject for almost nine years, this is just one recent post.
Do you know that when someone lands in Europe (for example) and asks for asylum that they are to be granted asylum in the first country in which they land (or rejected for asylum). But, the George Bush State Dept. changed all that for Malta. We now take hundreds of Malta’s illegal aliens/economic migrants off their hands and transport them to America!
So, the star of Think Progress’s story was not a real refugee. He was an alien who got to Malta and was living there for several years before, as he says, he chose to come to America! WTH! (See here, he was not a refugee!)
Admitted as a refugee to the United States in April, G.T., who asked for his real name to be withheld because he still has family back in Eritrea, didn’t always have a life this consistently American. He spent nine months trudging through Eritrea to Sudan, then another four months to Libya. From there, he took a perilous journey by boat to Malta, where he worked for three years and four months. While his own journey to Malta happened a few years before the European Union began facing a crush of refugees from Africa and the Middle East, his trek was hardly different from the one undertaken by millions of refugees traveling across the Mediterranean Sea.
In Malta, G.T. was happy “when I heard that there was a chance to go to America. Everyone knows that America has good opportunities,” G.T. told ThinkProgress in a phone interview. “That’s why I prefer to choose to come here.
Endnote: Think Progress ironically illustrates its story with a photo of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor which was created when some very rich and powerful developers, working in collusion with elected officials, condemned the homes and apartments of many of the city’s poor (including African Americans!) to develop the Inner Harbor. So poor people got the shaft and the supposed champions of the poor at Think Progress are apparently too dumb to know. One more reminder that ‘humanitarianism’ is only the cover used by the rich and powerful to line their pockets.

This invasion of Europe story leads to the invasion of America!
The story makes me sick. I have been writing about it for EIGHT years. George Bush started it and of course Obama continued this abrogation of international refugee law.
Here is one of the earliest posts I wrote (from 2008) about Bush’s Ambassador to Malta who first broke the law!
In just one recent year, 500 ILLEGAL aliens made their way from North Africa across the Mediterranean to the island nation of Malta. Then, to help Malta out, our US State Department said ‘presto-chango’ and these ECONOMIC migrants who had launched from lawless Libya and elsewhere in North Africa magically became refugees and they now live in your towns in America somewhere! And, this has been going on for eight years!
Legitimate claims for asylum are supposed to be made in the first safe country where the LEGITIMATE refugee lands—in this case Malta (making them Europe’s problem). Are we asking Europe to take some of our illegal alien Mexicans? Of course not!
Do you understand the full import of what this means—any of the phony asylum seekers reaching Europe could be simply moved to America now that the precedent has been set.

Some 500 immigrants who arrived in Malta in search for a better life have been resettled in the United States of America between March 2015 and March 2016. This information emerged in a reply to a Parliamentary Question. Minister for Home Affairs Carmelo Abela explained that 355 out of the 503 were Somali, 138 came from Eritrea, 17 from Sudan, two from Ethiopia and one from Iraq.
The resettlement exercise was possible following an agreement between the Maltese authorities, the American government and UNHCR.
You know it makes me so mad when I know that Congress, if it had the will, could do so much to reform this program with a few simple fixes that could make it safer and not so insane until real reform could begin. Simply disallowing this lawbreaking would be a good start!

Canada rejecting "refugees" from Malta
Why is this so interesting to us?
….because Canada is apparently attempting to make the point that international refugee law requires legitimate asylum seekers to seek asylum in the first safe country they enter.
The island nation of Malta is safe and therefore offers a “durable solution” to those seeking asylum. Although we have sympathy for Malta and the Maltese people, there is no reason for a western nation like Canada or the US to resettle refugees from a safe country.
Here is the Independent:
A number of refugees in Malta who have been sponsored to move to Canada are being prevented from emigrating since Canada’s immigration authorities consider their stay in Malta to be a “durable solution” to their situation, Canadian media is reporting.
Remember readers that ever since the Bush Administration, the US State Department has been illegally in our view scooping up hundreds of those mostly African (mostly Somali!) illegal alien boat people who manage to get across the Mediterranean to Malta, transform them into refugees and move them to your towns and cities. More evidence Europe is under siege by the flow of illegal migrants from Africa
Here is some of the latest news on the ‘Invasion of Europe.’
First, a new wave of illegal aliens flooded Italy and Greece this week. Obviously no effort is being made to take Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s advice to turn the boats back to the African coast. Each successful rescue simply sends the message back to Africa to fill the next boat!
From Al Jazeera:
More than 4,200 migrants are being brought to southern Italy after being rescued from boats in the Mediterranean in just 24 hours, the Italian coastguard said.
The migrants were rescued from wooden fishing boats and motorised rubber dinghies on Friday and Saturday in operations involving ships from nations including Italy, Ireland, Germany, Belgium and Britain.
Distress calls were made from 22 different boats, many off Libya but also off the southern Italian coast.

The huge spike in the number of people trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea in recent weeks has been attributed to the worsening security situation in Libya – the staging post for most of the crossings – as well as milder weather.
Greece getting hammered.
While massive, this year’s numbers are level with last year when authorities registered 41,243 arrivals between January and May 31.
A difference is however being felt in Greece which has registered 37,000 arrivals since the beginning of the year – already 3,000 more than in the whole of 2014, di Giacomo [International Organization of Migration] said.
The EU’s attempt to divide the masses between the 28 nations of the European Union is going no where.
See the Daily Sabah. Most EU countries are balking. And, besides, with the huge numbers coming, relocating 40,000 sounds like only a drop in the bucket!
The first significant sign of progress on the issue of mass migration to the EU was achieved on Wednesday after the submission of a proposal for a relocation and resettlement scheme to respond to the current migration challenges that the EU is currently facing. As part of a wider ranging migration strategy, the relocation scheme proposes to accept 40,000 asylum seekers and relocate them throughout EU countries in order to share the heavy burden of migrants mostly arriving in Italy and Greece. The proposal has not yet been approved by EU member states and is a controversial issue as the majority of EU countries are reluctant to take in refugees.

According to the resettlement program under the EU action plan on migration, Germany, one of the largest recipients of asylum applications among EU countries, would receive 8,763 of them, France would take 6,752 and Spain 4,288. The rest would be distributed among the other 23 countries. However, Britain, Ireland and Denmark already opted out of the plan with other Eastern European EU countries opposing the resettlement scheme. Member states would receive 6,000 euros per relocated asylum seeker from the EU.
Then we have news that Spain is undesirable according to Syrian refugees: not welcoming enough, not enough welfare goodies?
Here, Poland is balking at the EU proposal, but did agree to take in 200 Christian Syrians. The EU wants them to take 2,659 mostly Muslim Africans and Syrians.
There are lots more stories about individual country responses to the EU plan to share the burden. I’ll add more here as I see them this week.
