This is something we could do as well if we ever got serious about our borders. Instead we have immigration lawyers waiting at the border to help anyone caught to seek asylum using an ever increasing list of possible reasons for asylum.
Ho hum, we have reported many stories about fraud busts in Lewiston, Maine’s little Mogadishu. We’ve heard about food stamp fraud and home health care fraud, now it’s alleged housing assistance fraud.

This story I’m reporting today is from July. I obviously missed it, but saw it today because I noticed that there were many searches of our website for welfare fraud in Maine, so I figured I might have missed some new stories.
How is it that this REFUGEE couple set up limited liability companies, purchased buildings and still don’t speak English in their ten years in the US?

AUBURN, Maine — A Lewiston couple appeared in court Thursday to deny charges of welfare fraud 2½ years after federal agents raided the wife’s market on Bartlett Street.
Roda O. Abdi, 44, and her husband, Ali-Nassir H. Ahmed, 52, each pleaded not guilty to a charge of felony theft, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The couple is accused of fraudulently taking federal housing assistance money.
Abdi also was indicted on a misdemeanor charge of attempted theft in connection with attempts to redeem Women, Infants and Children program vouchers. That charge is punishable by up to 364 days in jail.
Their morning arraignment was aided by an interpreter who translated for the couple from English to Somali and to the judge from Somali to English.
What! Am I reading this correctly? They were receiving rental assistance (from you, the taxpayer) when they owned the whole apartment building!
More than a dozen members of the Somali community attended the courtroom hearings Thursday.
Investigators say the couple applied for U.S. Housing and Urban Development rental assistance for an apartment they rented at 149 Bartlett St. but failed to disclose their real estate holdings and income. The apartment building in which they live is owned by Abdi through a limited liability corporation called 210 Ash St. LLC, Assistant Attorney General Leanne Robbin said. Abdi also owns a building at 199 Bartlett St. that houses her market, A&R Halal Market, as well as apartments, called 199-214 Bartlett St. LLC.
The couple received roughly $18,000 in rental assistance at their apartment at 149 Bartlett St. over two years beginning in 2006, Robbin said. The total amount they received was roughly $58,000, but, because of the statute of limitations, they only can be prosecuted for the assistance they received from 2006 through 2008, Robbin said.
That henna and goat meat business is really lucrative! And, don’t you just wonder who are the American lawyers helping them set up their “businesses?” Curious and enterprising Mainers should be able to find out who the agent was for setting up those LLCs through your Secretary of State’s office.
Abdi was referenced in Sun Journal* stories as the owner of the market dating to 2003. She told reporters at that time that she imported goat meat from as far away as Philadelphia because no Maine farmer slaughtered goats according to Muslim law.
In a Mother Jones magazine story, Abdi said she also offered henna to decorate women’s hands as well as all of the ingredients for Somali dishes.

According to new report from community organisations in värmland county,85% of new asylum seekers are from Djibouti and Somaliland.
A local Somali source who refused to be named citing security concerns said that, a new wave of Djibouti started to flock to Sweden starting from 2007, this year its estimated that more than 7000 Djiboutians sought asylum in Sweden by falsely claiming that they’re from southern parts of Somalia, particularly lower and middle shabelle regions.
This has led to major problems in the refugee accommodation centers due to the sharp differences in cultures and traditions between Somalis and Djibouti.
Violence occurred due to those sharp language and cultural differences!
Early this year,a Somali teenager from Mogadishu was fatally stabbed in värmland by a man from Djibouti after the teenager insisted that ,the Djiboutian should drink and smoke cannabis outside their shared apartment at refugee accommodation Centre, other violent incidents occurred as result of such misunderstanding and sharp cultural and language differences between the two groups.
According to Eric L, a Swedish social worker in värmland,scores of French speaking Somalis have been noticed in the county which caused major confusion and surprise, since speaking French is uncommon among Somalis from Somalia [but, is the predominant language in Djibouti—ed]. He argued that personally he has been working with Somalis in Sweden for the past fifteen years and never came across such numbers of French speaking Somalis.

A Djiboutian who refused to be named in fear of reprisals from his fellow country men, said that he left Djibouti on May this year, and came to Sweden via France. There is no work in Djibouti, corruption is rampant, and its hard to put food on the table there, Life in Sweden is very easy and getting papers is more easier, you don’t even have to work to put food on the table, i advised all my friends and relatives to come here, most of them are on the way, five already arrived and sought asylum, two already managed to get Permanent residence permit (PUT).
Ah, Sweden, that multicultural mecca and its grand experiment with free living for one and all—how is that workin’ out for you now?
If there was ever a case that argues for DNA testing in family reunification this is it!
But, of course that much anticipated DNA testing isn’t happening yet in a big way because the “human rights” agitators scream bloody murder about it and the US State Department bows to their wishes.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY – The 9Wants to Know investigators have learned U.S. Federal agents arrested a man who they believe is a war criminal from Ethiopia convicted of killing 101 people and torturing many others.
Kefelegn Alemu Worku went by the name Tufa or Habteab Berhe Temanu, according to federal agents and federal court documents reviewed by 9Wants to Know. Immigration Customs Enforcement arrested Worku was arrested Aug. 24, but news of his arrest wasn’t immediately made public.
ICE agents allege Worku stole an identity and forged his citizenship application to be able to get into the United States. Federal prosecutors charged him with unlawful procurement of citizenship or naturalization and aggravated identity theft. If convicted he could be sentenced to 10 years in prison. It’s not clear whether he could be deported back to Ethiopia. [Of course not! We will just get to support him for the rest of his life!—ed]
Customs agents discovered Worku used a fraudulent name to immigrate to the United States on July 12, 2004 as a refugee along with four children to live with a fifth child already in the United States.
When agents interviewed the unnamed, fifth child they say he admitted his real father wasn’t mentally or physically able to immigrate to the United States. The children were worried their father’s health would jeopardize their changes [chances] of immigrating to the United States so they recruited Worku to assume the identity of their father in the refugee process.
* What is up with Denver? Earlier this year we had the Uzbek “refugee” terror arrest there. But, it’s not the only city to be lucky enough to get refugee war criminals and the opportunity to host an expensive trial. Concord, NH had a multimillion dollar Rwandan “refugee” war criminal trial back in the spring, here.
