Dick Morris: US drowning in refugees
Dick Morris is on the case: Soon all the immigrants coming to America will be called refugees!
A couple of thoughts on political commentator Dick Morris (well known for his earlier friendship with the Clintons) who has a presentation on the Refugee Admissions Program of the UN/US State Department. (hat tip: Peter) It is pretty good. I think he is on target when he says the Obama Administration (and its No Borders cabal) is purposefully calling anyone who gets here for any economic reason (the Unaccompanied alien children for instance) “refugees” because the word triggers an emotional response from those who know nothing.
I was going to point out that Morris’ numbers are bit high, but then if you do include (in addition to the annual 70,000 refugees themselves), the UACs, the asylum seekers, the Special Immigrant Visa holders, the Cuban/Haitian parolees and so forth, the half a million for Obama’s term in office is actually low. But, don’t ever forget that George W. Bush brought in nearly the same number! This program is 35 years old this year!
Morris says that Congress has no role, but they do! They just don’t exercise it.
When the President sends up his annual “determination” in late September*** for consultation, Senators and Members of Congress could say “NO” to what the President is proposing. We don’t know what would happen then because saying NO, as far as we know, has never been tested. I doubt anyone, but some lowly staff person, ever looks at the presentation from the White House/US State Dept.
Indeed, it is now shameful that with all the concern about the program around the country, that Rep. Trey Gowdy, who is responsible as chairman of the immigration subcommittee in the House for the refugee program, has apparently not made one move to hold oversight hearings of any sort!
The Babin bill, which Morris mentions, would be a good reason to hold a hearing!

*** Here is the FY2015 Determination letter. It is accompanied by a very large, very useful, report to Congress. Although the new fiscal year (2016) begins on October 1, 2015, don’t expect the determination to be sent much before Sept. 30th, so there is virtually no time for Congress to seriously look at it before the State Department is sending thousands out to colonize your towns.
This is a warning I posted recently. I have no inside information. I could be wrong, but, just in case, better to be ready and start talking about it now!

By the way, on this Presidential determination letter, the Obama Administration is working on that right now for FY2016. They will send it to Congress around Sept. 30th since FY2016 begins on October 1. I am very concerned that instead of the usual 70,000 refugees the Obama Administration has been bringing in each year, that they will dramatically increase the number for 2016 to accommodate the 65,000 (mostly Muslim) Syrians that the United Nations wants us to take. The reason I suspect a rat is that it has been very very quiet ever since the Jihad Caucus wrote to Obama. I’m guessing Obama/Kerry told them to hush-up for now because something is in the works!
Watch for it!

Update August 18th: A Syrian refugee in Sweden is trying to tell his fellow Syrians that the streets are not paved in gold, here.
Yikes! Look at this opinion piece posted at a “progressive” website of all places. This worldly Syrian woman, born in America and apparently now living in Syria, says many Syrian so-called ‘refugees’ arriving in Europe are not from unsafe parts of Syria, but are just looking for “El Dorado” (a mythical city of gold)—for Europe to give them free everything!
Here is some of what Deena Stryker says of her fellow Syrians (emphasis is mine):
“My husband is one of 10 children. Of that large extended family, many have taken the boats to Europe now. Some are in Sweden, Denmark, Italy and Germany. Several are in Turkey. None of these people needed to leave Syria. They were all living in safe, violence free zones (Latakia on the coast). None of them had been attacked or threatened or were in any danger from Syrian government, or police, etc.
Why did they leave? They left homes and cars and possessions here in order to take up the offer of FREE money and housing in Europe. They had been sure that once in Europe they will be given free medical, education, housing, food and provided for in every way forever. They think of Europe as “El Dorado”. There is also a large dose of jealousy involved, as they saw their neighbors going and they didn’t want to be left behind. Syrian hate to see someone else get a good deal, and not get a piece of the pie themselves.

My point is this: there are real Syrian refugees. These are people who are against the government for political reasons: they want an Islamic State, and the government refuses to give up their secular form of gov’t, which is 40 years old. There are refugees who have lost homes, cars, farms, possessions, etc. There are Syrian refugees who really would be better off in Europe. However, if you examine the Syrian refugees abroad, you will find a large number are not there because of political or economic hardships. Many are there for reasons other than the typical refugee criteria. Many are opportunists who saw a chance to get a free lunch and grabbed it with both hands.

Ethnic groups fight each other as they try to get a spot on Greek refugee ship

You’ve probably seen or heard it somewhere in the news recently that the Greek government has sent a huge cruise ship to house refugees arriving by the thousands on the island of Kos.
Seems the Greeks are going to help the Syrians first, so all of the other Middle Eastern young men are fighting each other.
Isn’t diversity beautiful!
Foolish, foolish EU! They should have done as Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott advised months ago—turn back the migrant boats to where they were launched, or die!

Fighting broke out between a group of Asian migrants on the Greek island of Kos today.
Riot police did nothing as 50 asylum seekers from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran threw rocks and exchanged blows near a passenger ship where hundreds of migrants were being registered.
Hundreds of Asian migrants were stood near the police station when the brawl broke out, possibly because they have little chance of being processed on the Eleftherios Venizelos.
The Greek authorities are giving priority to Syrians. They are treated as refugees because they are fleeing their country’s bitter civil war and therefore have greater rights under international law than economic migrants.
Over 250,000 ‘asylum seekers’ have arrived in Europe this year.
