Dallas: Turning red states blue, one city at a time

There is nothing surprising in this story at Breitbart about Dallas, Texas “progressive” mayor Mike Rawlings.

mike Rawlings
Democrat Mayor Mike Rawlings “welcomes” third worlders to Dallas.

But, please take note of the the big global bank—JP Morgan Chase—underwriting this series of discussions called ‘City Makers Summit’ where they are attempting to sell the idea that only migrants can revitalize cities.
I’ve been begging for years for some think tank with economic know-how to do a study of long-established resettlement cities like Utica, NY  (or Amarillo, TX!) because I believe such a study would quickly kill this notion that importing poverty was good for a city.
Lana Shadwick at Breitbart:

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said during a recent summit on the city’s economy, its workforce, and its future, that he believes welcoming refugees is crucial to Dallas becoming a “global city.” The Democratic mayor made the statement after being asked about “hosting refugees” and “bringing people inside” as “one of the building blocks of a revitalized town.”

Rawlings made these statements during a recent “City Makers Summit” hosted by The Atlantic and JP Morgan Chase. The summit was held on March 10th and was the third of such events by the publication. Other events have been held in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco.

[….]

The Democrat mayor in the democratic/”Blue” city called himself “a pretty progressive guy” and appeared to be quite proud of it.

Then be sure to visit my three part series on Texas from early last summer.  Begin reading here.  There are some good links to excellent data on who is being “welcomed” to Dallas county. Arabic is the top language spoken by refugees going to Dallas.

House immigration subcommittee set to mark-up refugee reform bill tomorrow; why now?

It is my duty to report on this bill being championed by Idaho Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho) and Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte, but sorry I can’t get too excited about it.  And, although he is apparently a co-sponsor, why isn’t Subcommittee Chairman Trey Gowdy (bff Open borders Marco) leading this effort? Hmmm…..

McConnell and Ryan
McConnell and Ryan. Would we be better off with these two deciding how many refugees are admitted to the US in the coming years? I’m still advocating for a complete shutdown of the whole refugee resettlement apparatus!

Here is the press release from the House Judiciary Committee announcing the mark-up of a bill that will likely go nowhere. I could be wrong, but at this late stage in the legislative calendar and with an election coming up in November, call me a cynic!
Does the Committee want to make sure that the earlier Babin bill (which would temporarily halt the program altogether) is squashed?
Are they trying to calm down citizens in their districts who are clamoring for governors (mostly Republican governors) to do something? In other words, is this a pat on your heads with a ‘don’t worry, go about your business, we will take care of you?’
And, let me ask you, do we really want this particular pro-donor class (big business establishment/Chamber of Commerce) Republican leadership making the determination about how many refugees are admitted anymore than say a Trump White House?  Do you trust Rep. Paul Ryan and Senator Mitch (bring’em to Kentucky) McConnell to set levels?
By offering fig leaves, are they attempting to save the whole program which in my view (after 8 years of following this) needs to be completely trashed!
And, does this bill do anything to disrupt the flow of billions of taxpayer dollars to unaccountable ‘religious’ non-profits who really call the shots on who is resettled where in America? Someone correct me, does it do anything to give them all the heave-ho?
Again, sorry to sound so cynical.  I am open to someone convincing me that this is going to do anything (other than attempt to quiet the angry masses).
Oops! There is one thing it does for sure.  It causes the Open borders left and the Refugee Contractors (organized by their lobbying arm, Refugee Council USA) to go to their grassroots and fire them up once again, see here.  I enjoy seeing them aggravated, but does stirring them up in this critical election year with a bill going nowhere really help us?
Go here to see the press release (thanks to all who sent it!).
That said, by all means though follow the lead of groups like NumbersUSA pushing for you to contact your members of Congress.  You do want them to know that the issue is one that motivates and angers you!

Wyoming Public Radio pushing refugee resettlement for Wyoming

Oh, they will say they are just promoting the discussion about opening Wyoming for the placement of third world refugees, but it is just this sort of thing that the Open Borders Left uses to keep the pressure on a recalcitrant population which has made it very clear over recent years that they do not want Wyoming to become a new resettlement site.

Republican Governor Matthew Mead of Wyoming listens to remarks during a "Growth and Jobs in America" discussion at the National Governors Association Winter Meeting in Washington, February 23, 2014. The governors will be meeting with administration officials, members of Congress and business leaders as they discuss the nation's economy, education issues, environmental concerns and health and human services. Republican Governor Matthew Mead of Wyoming wants third world refugees resettled in the state.

This is what the Leftists and complicit media do all the time to wear down their opposition.
For new readers, Wyoming is the only state in the nation that has never had a UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program.
Montana, the only other state not ‘welcoming’ refugees at the moment, did have a small program a few years ago.
With the big push from the Obama Administration to expand resettlement from around the world to 85,000 this year (10,000 from Syria), the US State Department and its contractors are out scouting new territory and the Republican governor of Wyoming has invited the feds to come on in!
We have been following the controversy in Wyoming ever since Governor Matt Mead wrote a 2013 letter to the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) in Health and Human Services saying they were setting up an office in Wyoming.  A huge political brouhaha ensued and the governor and those pushing the plan ran for cover (for awhile!).
This March 24 event, being put on by Wyoming Public Radio and the Wyoming Humanities Council, signals that the Open borders (diversity is beautiful) gang is beginning a new propaganda salvo against citizens who object to the expense and cultural disruption that impoverished refugees from Africa, Asia and the Middle East would place on rural Wyoming.
This is a summary of the upcoming event:
bertine
One of the panelists will be former Congolese refugee Bertine Bahige. It was Bahige’s story about how he wanted a refugee program in WY so he could bring his family from the Congo to Wyoming that spooked citizens there before the Lutheran resettlement agency could get its structure in place in Casper. From my own experience and vast evidence over the years, these agents for the US State Dept. must get set up and start operations before the word leaks to regular folks in the town. Secrecy is the watchword for federal agencies/contractors.

Wyoming PBS and the Wyoming Humanities Council are partnering to explore immigration and refugee policy in Wyoming in a special March 24th Wyoming Perspectives. What is the federal government’s refugee program? Why doesn’t Wyoming participate? What are the numbers of immigrants and refugees in Wyoming? What is Wyoming’s history with immigration? Should Wyoming help in the world’s refugee crisis? Why or why not? These questions and more will be discussed. Brian Liesinger, Executive Director of the Heart Mountain Interpretive Center, will provide a historical perspective.

Wyomingites need to find out more about those on the board of the Wyoming Humanities Council, here.  And, use the election season to question Liz Cheney about the refugee program. You should be guaranteed to get publicity by doing so.
Concerned citizens of Wyoming should weigh in here:

We invite your questions about immigration and refugee policy in Wyoming. Call in your questions during the broadcast to: 800-495-9788 or submit questions now via email to immigration@wyomingpbs.org.

If you live somewhere else in the US and have witnessed problems with the refugee program where you live, please send in questions and comments as well! (Even if your questions/comments never make it on the air, you will be educating Wyoming PBS).

Also, please send ‘educational’ information to the legislator, see here, who will be on the program.
For all of you who have not followed the controversy in Wyoming, see our archive here.
Two years ago this week, we had a good laugh when we learned that the wannabe refugee contractor, Lutherans!, admitted that the reason they got politically shot down was that the news was out about their plans before they had all the skids greased.  They had hoped to keep the plan secret longer! Jumping the gun! Go here and see that the ORR already had Casper, WY on their map of resettlement sites.  The latest map shows no office in Casper.
See especially, Governor Mead suggests RRW is racist, here (a usual line of attack by the Left!).

One of the groups organizing against Trump in Chicago was a "refugee rights" group

The Daily Caller has posted a list of the groups (it wasn’t just Media Matters!) who organized the disruptive and at times violent protest that shut down a Donald Trump rally on Friday evening in Chicago.

Fred
ICIRR’s Fred Tsao http://icirr.org/content/fred-tsao

One group is the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR). (Note the Daily Caller reporter has garbled the name.) But below and here is what the DC says of a group we have reported on many times over the years. (See our lengthy archive on ICIRR here.)

I can’t emphasize enough that ICIRR and its companion groups, like the ones in Tennessee and Massachusetts, are not driven by ‘humanitarian’ zeal, but are hard left community agitation groups working to change America by changing the people!

The DC:

This radical leftist group, specializing in immigration, is a more extreme version of the far left version of National Council on La Raza in Illinois.

The group was featured in an article profiling some of the groups intending to protest Trump’s rally in the left-wing website, Progress Illinois on March 8 entitled “New Americans Hit The Polls In Chicago As Immigrant Advocates Gear Up For Anti-Trump Protest.”

“There’s a lot of really hateful rhetoric with respect to immigrants being voiced by candidates out there, “ICIRR’s Senior Policy Counsel Fred Tsao said in that article. “We want to show that immigrants are patriotic, contributing and eager to participate in the political process and to integrate into society.”   [Hey Fred, hint! It doesn’t help your cause to get poor immigrants and refugees out to events like this!—ed]

This group was not only instrumental in creating not only the most radical local immigration ordinance but championed the case which inspired the DREAM Act.

Go here to read more about ICIRR and other groups that organized the anti-free speech rally in Chicago.
Remember readers that when you make that foolish distinction and say LEGAL immigration is good and illegal is bad, groups like ICIRR are making no such distinction.  It is all the same to them—they want large numbers of immigrants to build a permanent voting majority for their Leftwing wet dreams.  See a list of their ‘partners’ here.
ICIRR’s former director, Joshua Hoyt, has moved on to a larger ‘change agent’ role, see a mention here.  He is the Executive Director of the National Partnership for New Americans, here.

Washington Post: Boo hoo, Syrian resettlement to US going sloooowly

It appears that the reason the resettlement of mostly Sunni Syrians to the US (less than 1,000) in roughly the same time period as Canada is seeding 25,000 throughout our neighbor to the north, is that the US is taking serious security measures while Canada is not.

Andrew Harper
The UN’s man in Jordan, Andrew Harper: Canada was able to get thousands moved to Canada because they are less interested in security than the US government is…hummm!

Obama has promised 10,000 will be resettled here before September 30th (the last day of fiscal year 2016), but so far deep in the bowels of our security apparatus some officials are taking their jobs seriously.  That said, the WaPo tells us that the screening is being dramatically stepped up right now.
Here is the Washington Post (skipping the obligatory ‘poster mom and kids’ that open the report!):

….by the end of February, less than 1,000 Syrians have made it to the United States, and resettlement experts question whether the United States can reach its target by September.

[….]

Between February and April, the State Department and Homeland Security Department are pulling in additional staff to Jordan to help interview more and more Syrian applicants. The U.S. Embassy in Jordan said 30 officers from Homeland Security have been posted to Jordan and a new facility has been opened. Similiar efforts are underway in Lebanon and Iraq.

[….]

The U.N. refugee agency, which first interviews Syrians and refers vulnerable cases to U.S. authorities, also have shifted into a higher level of energy. Staff have been relocated to Amman from across the region, with evening shifts being put in place. In phone banks, U.N. staff members call refugees who may eligible for resettlement.

[….]

Andrew Harper, the U.N. refugee agency’s representative to Jordan, said the speedy resettlement of 25,000 Syrians in Canada has shown what can be done. But the big difference between Canada and the United States, Harper acknowledged, is their level of security concerns.

More here.  It simply is not true what the ‘humanitarians’ claim that terrorists don’t get in to the US as refugees.  Even the New York Times admits they do, here.
Just a reminder!  If Bernie or Hillary are elected President in November, you can be sure there will be no interruption in the flow of Middle Eastern and North African Muslims to the US.  It will be all over for us because after 4 or 8 more years of unabated flow, erasing America will be a done deal.  Get everyone you know to the polls this year!
