Weekly roundup for week ending October 21, 2016

Sorry, for the last couple of weeks, I have not been very good about keeping up with the weekly roundups of the top stories of the week. And, this is going to be a quickie.
The Top Three Posts of the last week that readers were most interested in are as follows (top daily posts are in the right hand sidebar):

60 Minutes spewing B.S. on refugee screening/travel costs

New refugee seeding site: Youngstown, Ohio

Obama State Department bringing refugees in at the astronomical rate of over 400 a day!

For new readers:
This (below) is my usual information to new readers so you can catch up with the last nine years of RRW.
RRW is a blog, a news outlet, not an organization with an office and staff.
I want you to be able to find information here where nearly 8,000 posts are archived!
Are you having problems with your subscription?  I’ve heard from several of you lately that you are not receiving your usual e-mail notices.  I have no control over that.  Those e-mails are managed directly by wordpress. I recommend that if you are having trouble (or you are getting too many every day), then simply visit here from time to time and just scroll back through recent posts.
Also, if you visit regularly you can use the search window using a few key words and find some important information among almost 8,000 posts going back to 2007!  If you are seriously interested in this issue, you won’t be getting the most out of RRW by simply reading posts in e-mail notices.
Also, see our newly updated Frequently Asked Questions and our fact sheet (out of date but still useful) in the header. In the FAQ you will see a link for ‘Ten things your town needs to know.’
I’ve been tweeting a lot and sometimes if I can’t write about a story you send, I tweet it.  See my twitter feed (over 5,000 followers at this moment) in the right-hand side bar. Even if you aren’t on twitter, you should be able to open the links to the news embedded in the tweet.  I am@RefugeeWatcher.
Likewise you might want to ‘like’ and follow RRW’s facebook page, here.  See it also in the left-hand side bar. It has over 32,000 likes now.  A friend helps me there (because I stink at facebook) so you will see other related news there that is not on RRW.
If you are looking for fellow grassroots activists in ‘pockets of resistance’ see the Refugee Resisters facebook page here (Jim Simpson).
All previous round-ups and this one are archived in a category simply called ‘blogging.’
My FIRST video about how the refugee program works is here (over 2.5 million views as of this writing).
All comments you submit are screened and we don’t post threats of violence, most foul language, or ad hominem attacks on other commenters.  Sometimes I am away from the computer for many hours, so you may not see your comment posted quickly.
As much as I would love to see you all in your hometowns, I hate speaking. I think I am more useful right here researching and writing.

In two weeks and two days we will know if there is any hope of reforming this out-of-control refugee program or not! Go Trump!

Obama State Department is pouring refugees in at rate to admit 135,000 by September 2017

Just as we predicted, Obama’s State Department is admitting refugees at a rate not seen in decades. Are they trying to flood the zone before a possible Trump Administration takes the reins of government in January?  We think so!
I was having such fun researching numbers for my previous post, here, that I thought I would check the general flow for all refugees being admitted in the first three weeks of Fiscal Year 2017.  Obama has proposed a refugee admission plan for 110,000 refugees to be placed in your towns by September 30, 2017.  However, at the rate they are coming in, 135,000 could be here by that date.  (Most of Obama’s plans for previous years averaged much less than 70,000 a year***.)

SAMSUNG
Minnesota is the top resettlement state for Somalis. It is also the top secondary migration state as Somalis resettled elsewhere head there in large numbers. Note the Somali flags in this photo.

The 110,000 is a ceiling, so presumably to reach 135,000 they would have to “consult” with a weak Congress.
According to data maintained at the Refugee Processing Center, we admitted 7,780 refugees in the last 3 weeks.  That is 2,593 a week (from all religions and countries). Multiply that by 52 weeks in the year and we get 134,853.
Muslim refugees…
What I want to point out here are the Muslim refugees (3,517 in the first three weeks) and all of the different countries they come from. While we focus on the Syrians and the problems with vetting, make no mistake, they can’t properly vet any of these Muslims who we have picked up all over the world.
And, what good is vetting when the little kids we raised on our dime grow up to be jihadists as we have seen many times among Somali refugees primarily from Minnesota.
The most shocking number below is for Somalis in the first 3 weeks.  We are bringing them in at a rate NEVER seen. At this rate (335 a week) we could bring in over 17,000 by the end of the fiscal year Go here to see the top years we have ever had for Somali resettlement.  The previous top year was in the Bush Administration (2004) when we admitted, 12,814.
The United Nations wants to clean out the Somali camps in Kenya and it sure looks like we said, “yes master!”
So here are the countries from which we received Muslim refugees in the last 3 weeks (October 1 to October 21, 2016):

Afghanistan (173)

Azerbaijan (2)

Burma (180) These are the devout Rohingya! We have no data on them as they have left Burma! We pick them up in Malaysia and throughout that region of the world.

Central African Republic (13)

DR Congo (71) We were led to believe all of those from DR Congo were NOT Muslims

Djibouti (2)

Eritrea (6)

Ethiopia (65)

Iran (32)

Iraq (818)

Ivory Coast (3)

Mali (1)

Pakistan (9)

Rep. of S. Sudan (2)

Sierra Leone (1)

Somalia (1,007) This is a resettlement rate never seen before.

Sudan (75)

Syria (1,054)

Uganda (3)

Uzbekistan (1)

See this map below from the Refugee Processing Center showing where the 1,007 Somalis were distributed in the last 3 weeks. It won’t take long for large numbers of them to move to Minnesota as secondary migrants (they want to be with their own kind of people!).

This map depicts Somali resettlement for the first 3 weeks of FY2017.  Alaska didn’t fit on the map, but it got 4.
Don’t like what you see?

There is only one thing you can do to slow this flow (besides electing Donald Trump) which at this rate would bring around 135,000 refugees to America by next fall and that is to persuade your member of Congress and US Senators to DEFUND the program in the lame duck Budget debate coming in November.

See the first in a series of posts on the lame duck budget process by clicking here. This is not about Obama, your Congressional Representatives have the power to rein this in if they wanted to (and they don’t want you to know that they have that power!).

You have 16 days before election day to get a commitment from your Washington, DC representatives to DEFUND!

*** Check out this table which shows about the last ten years of refugee ceilings then actual resettlement numbers.  You can see it averages less than 70,000 a year. So at 135,000 that is almost double anything we have admitted in more than a decade. (I was too lazy to look up our final tally for 2016, but it came in around the 85,000 mark).

Over 1,000 Syrians seeded throughout America in last 3 weeks; 99% Muslim

Apparently there is no effort being made to resettle more persecuted Christians from Syria than Obama did last year.
1,069 Syrians have been spread around America in the first three weeks of FY2017. That is 352 a week. 99% or 1,054 practice some form of Islam.  The vast majority are Sunni Muslims.

no-refugees-demonstration
There will most likely be 20,000 Syrian (99%) Muslim refugees admitted to the US by September 30, 2017, UNLESS Congress cuts the funding for the program next month!

There were 4 Catholics, 3 Christians and 8 Orthodox identified in the flow.

The top state receiving them was Michigan (by far!).

Here are the top ten receiving states:

Michigan (199)

California (104)

Arizona (68)

Maryland (63)

Pennsylvania (63)

Texas (62)

New York (60)

Ohio (50)

Indiana (42)

Georgia (42)

See the map from the Refugee Processing Center for the first 3 weeks of the fiscal year (30 states received Syrians so far, assuming I counted them correctly!):

Maryland: CAIR wants 14-year-old girl investigated in case of threatening note to Iraqi refugee family

Thanks to Wikileaks, we are becoming increasingly aware (more than ever before) of how the mainstream media presents ‘news’ in a way to push an agenda or oppose candidates they don’t like.
A prime example……
I literally sat here with my mouth open when I read this story (the whole story!) at WBAL in Baltimore by Saliqua Khan (Islamophobic note we are told in the headline!).
If I had stopped reading at paragraph ten, I would have a completely different idea of what happened.  Here is what we are told first:

DUNDALK, Md. —A civil rights group is asking authorities to investigate a hate message as a bias-motivated crime after a note was left at the Baltimore County home of a family of Iraqi Muslim refugees.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, on Friday called on state and federal law enforcement authorities to investigate a note left at the family’s Dundalk home.

zainab_chaudry
Zainab Chaudry speaking for CAIR in Maryland is quoted as blaming it on…you guessed it! Donald Trump!

CAIR said the hate message, left on the door of the family’s home, said, “Terrorist, Leave, No one wants you here, Your kind is a disgrace, 9/11 was your fault.”

The message also included a crude drawing of a Muslim woman wearing a head scarf (hijab) and holding a bomb, with the comment, “Take that (expletive) off your head.”

The victim’s father, who’s family recently found refuge in the U.S. and speaks very little English, said he’s worried about his family’s safety after his 11-year-old daughter received the note.

“Now, I am scared and worried about my child,” the victim’s father, Raad Lalqaraghuli, said. “I was scared, no sleeping.”

The Washington-based civil rights organization said the targeting of the Maryland Muslim family is the latest in a series of hate incidents directed at American Muslims, mosques and Islamic centers nationwide in the past week.

At this point I felt bad for this Muslim family (no sympathy for CAIR!)…..

But, now get this! The police already investigated and determined it was a squabble between CHILDREN!

Continue reading:

Baltimore County police have determined that a dispute between children led to an offensive note left on at the apartment of a Muslim family.

[….]

Officers were able to identify a 14-year-old girl, whose family lives in the same building, as the person who wrote the note. When officers met with the girl and her parents, she stated that she wrote the note because two of the children in the family had “cursed at her and made offensive gestures.”

Officers explained to the girl and the family the seriousness of what she had done. The girl’s parents were cooperative and assured officers that they would handle the matter at home.

The investigation indicated that while the note was offensive, that no crime had happened.

“This is nothing that happened as a result of an organized hate group this was a dispute between two children,” Baltimore County police spokeswoman Elise Armacost.

So if you stopped reading at paragraph ten, you would never know this!
By the way, Dundalk is a poor suburb of Baltimore and it is no surprise that resettlement contractors likely placed the Iraqi family here.
For more on Zainab Choudry, I wrote about her here in 2013 at Potomac Tea Party Report.

Federal Refugee contractor World Relief (Evangelicals!) has a new Prez

And, they must be sending out little press releases about him and the organization as fillers for small news outlets because I’ve seen several puff pieces like this one lately.

scott-arbeiter
Scott Arbeiter, the new Prez of World Relief. We assume he makes about the same salary as his predecessor—around $200,000 from all sources of income. That is small compared to many other of the federal contractors.

But, it reminded me that I hadn’t done an updated financial review of them as I had recently on Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI).
The new President is Scott Arbeiter, you can learn a little about him here.
BTW, World Relief’s full name is World Relief Corporation of National Association of Evangelicals. It is headquartered in Baltimore, MD.

Here is a bit of the puff-piece at Christianity Today:

World Relief, a Christian humanitarian organization, resettled in the United States nearly twice the number of refugees than usual.

[….]

In September, World Relief settled 1,400 refugees through churches and its 26 offices across the country. In the past year, the organization has worked with 9,759 refugees, the largest number of refugees to go through its office since 1999, according to Christianity Today, having partnered with 1,180 congregations.

[….]

World Relief is one of nine organizations authorized by the federal government to help resettle refugees. Others include Church World Service, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS), Episcopal Migration Ministries, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, and the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

I laughed at the use of the word “authorized” as if WR only had to get an authorization (a stamp of approval) and then was completely operating with Christian ‘charity’ instead of mostly federal tax dollars.  This is how they spin the lazy media, never mentioning that this is a business—a business that could not function without your money!

Incidentally, it is World Relief  (a member in good standing of the Christian LEFT) that sent around a memo to staff over a year ago to tell them to not give out any R & P Abstracts for any of you calling looking for the plan for your local community.
Checking the most recent Form 990 for World Relief we see that they had a total gift/grants income of $58,487,081 and $42,589,050 was provided by you, the US taxpayer, making their federally-funded share of their budget 73% taxpayer funded.
I went back 6 years and their income from you jumped about $11.5 million over that time.  That of course correlates with the fact that they placed more refugees into your towns each year and since they are paid by the head, that makes sense.
Here is a screen shot of page 9 (this info. is usually on page 9) of World Relief’s most recent 990.  You can find several years of WR’s 990’s here if you want to have a deeper look into their finances.  All IRS 501(c)3 organizations are required to make their financial information public, so remember that if you are trying to get Form 990s for a local group.

Take note of line 2 a (Travel loan commission).  I told you about that money the other day.  It is yours too. The contractor acts as a collection agency for refugees to pay back their travel loans (federal dollars paid for the tickets) and the contractor (WR in this case) gets to keep a cut of everything they collect.
