Who is Going to Pay the Rent for Hundreds of Thousands of Refugee Tenants?

Who do you think?

As the Chinese virus tanks our economy, it will be those of you still able to pay taxes!  Either local tax dollars will go directly to the refugees, or local landlords will get bailouts (your tax dollars too).

Over the years I’ve watched landlord sharks seek out refugee tenants often working closely with federal refugee contractors and subcontractors in Democrat-run cities, but that whole system of cronyism could be crashing as we speak thanks to the Trump administration turning off the refugee spigot and the Chinese virus creating mass unemployment for the mostly low-skilled workers that have poured into the US as cheap refugee labor in the last few decades.

Will we soon see large numbers of refugees among the homeless, maybe.

This story in the Wall Street Journal today brought all of this to mind because I have been seeing stories here and there about how refugees are getting local financial assistance (with your money through local government agencies) when we have been promised for decades that the federal government bears the entire financial burden of refugee resettlement (NOT!).

I don’t have a subscription to the WSJ, but how great is this, the WSJ has a video with their story headlined:

Eviction Looms for Millions of Americans Who Can’t Afford Rent

This is Fadhila Hussein. She is a landlord in Schenectady, NY and owns over a dozen rental properties. She is now losing big bucks. I suspect her tenants are refugees and other immigrants. Watch the video at the WSJ link.

WASHINGTON—Millions of Americans who have missed rent payments due to the coronavirus pandemic could be at risk of being evicted in the coming months unless government measures to protect them are extended, economists and housing experts say.

Nearly 12 million adults live in households that missed their last rent payment, and 23 million have little or no confidence in their ability to make the next one, according to weekly Census Bureau data.

Who are the people who mostly can’t pay rent, I bet a large percentage are immigrants of all stripes who are losing work in the service industry and in food processing.  Can you say meatpackers!

Look around where you live and I will bet you find bailouts for immigrants coming from local tax dollars.  In just a couple minutes of searching I found this one for Illinois.

IDHS COVID-19 Resources for Immigrants and Refugees

See who gets to distribute the money in Illinois—radical Leftist groups like the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR)—so that the needy immigrants then see who they are beholden to! And, it is not you, the taxpayer!

Just a reminder that back in the heyday of the Obama administration Democrat mayors were squawking to Obama and telling him they wanted MORE refugees (100,000 at least) especially the Syrians saying their cities needed many more poor, uneducated citizens who would eventually vote for more Dems.

NO, they weren’t that truthful, they said they needed more refugees to help their cities grow into economic boom towns (to benefit landlords and the Chamber of Commerce). Well, no they didn’t say that exactly either, they just tried to make it look like they are humanitarians seeking to help the world’s less fortunate.

So let’s take a trip down memory lane and see which mayors were begging for more refugees—refugees who are now down and out.

Story from 2015:

18 US Mayors tell Obama: We want MORE Syrian (Muslim) refugees!

Here are the mayors (some may still be in office), but even if they aren’t whoever took over the mayoral job since 2015 is, you can be sure, of the same ilk…

We want over 100,000 refugees a year!

Ed Pawlowski, Mayor of Allentown, PA
Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Mayor of Baltimore, MD
Martin J. Walsh, Mayor of Boston, MA
James Diossa, Mayor of Central Falls, RI
Mark Kleinschmidt, Mayor of Chapel Hill, NC
Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of Chicago, IL
Edward Terry, Mayor of Clarkston, GA
Nan Whaley, Mayor of Dayton, OH
Domenick Stampone, Mayor of Haledon, NJ
Pedro E. Segarra, Mayor of Hartford, CT
Eric Garcetti, Mayor of Los Angeles, CA
Betsy Hodges, Mayor of Minneapolis, MN
Bill de Blasio, Mayor of New York City, NY
Jose Torres, Mayor of Paterson, NJ
William Peduto, Mayor of Pittsburgh, PA
Javier Gonzales, Mayor of Santa Fe, NM
Francis G. Slay, Mayor of St. Louis, MO
Stephanie A. Miner, Mayor of Syracuse, NY

Obama gave them almost as many as they wanted in fiscal year 2016 as he was walking out the door—almost 85,000 from 79 countries.

If you live in a Democrat-run city, you need to think about the possibility that your city could see more homelessness, strife and crime in the coming months, so please take time now and prepare for your family’s safety and well-being.  Consider moving!

See here and here.

  1. Hello Ann Corcoran,

You said: ” …our city could see more homelessness, strife and crime in the coming months, so please take time now and prepare for your family’s safety and well-being. Consider moving!”

I ask you: WHERE would any of us consider moving TO?
There isn’t on State in the U.S. that is “better” or “safer” than any other state. Every state is subject to more riots, more killings, more savage thugs waiting for the “kill”!

There is ONE place I move to IF I could afford to do so – but many of us (me included) cannot afford to do so. WHERE? The country of Hungary.

    1. I’ll be right behind you if Hungary let’s us immigrants in!

It will take them all longer to get to you if you can move to a remote part of a conservative state. If I lived in a city (any city!) I would be out of there no matter what it took to get out. There are still remote areas of West Virginia, Wyoming, South Carolina, the deep south where your neighbors would be like minded people. I can’t believe we are even talking about this, but we must. If all hell doesn’t break loose in late 2020/early 2021 then we can all breathe a sigh of relief and go back to yakking about wonkish political issues, but just in case spend some time planning and preparing.

      1. Hello Ann Corcoran,

I did some searching with regard to immigrating to Hungary.

Well … just let me say this: IF the United States were as strict as Hungary, we wouldn’t have an immigration/refugee problem in the U.S.

          1. Hello Ann Corcoran,

You asked: “How long can a Visitor Stay” [in Hungary] ?

Answer: A “visitor” can stay up to 90 Days. If a Visa is applied for, and granted (and from what I could determine by reading over the rather complicated guidelines) it would appear that individual can stay an additional 30 days.

          2. So one could leave say October 1 (vote absentte) and stay until January or February and skip most of the turmoil that will be happening here during that period? Assuming the Covid doesn’t stop all travel!

          3. Hello Ann,

In the mid 1970’s there was this person I was trying to help relocate to U.S. from Canada. He was well “qualified” – in other words, he would not have been a “drain” on the U.S. economy or anything else.

I even had a friend – who was a successful business owner – to hire my friend once he got into the United States; and he signed a legally binding statement to that effect.
But the U.S. Government would not accept my friend- (no, he did not have a criminal record of any kind).

So I hired an immigration attorney to get him admitted. To make a long story a bit shorter … no, he was not admitted into the U.S. even with the help of the immigration attorney.

But it was a good “exercise” in learning first hand what one’s chances are of getting into another country for the purpose of staying indefinitely – especially IF you are a “good”, decent, harmless, WHITE person who has no criminal record.

Anyone who seriously would like to take up residency in a country other than their own birth country needs to know if one decides to go the “legal route”, your chances are next to nil (UNLESS of course that person is a refugee, has a criminal record, and has the blessings of Nancy Pelosi), and you destination country is the United States.

As for “skipping most of the turmoil” you mentioned, in my opinion that just will NOT be possible because when the “turmoil” starts this next time (between September 2020 into February 2021) it will continue until the super “billionaires” (who had Covid-19 formulated for their own selfish agenda) have complete control over not just the U.S., but the entire world.

Do YOU remember the movie Soylent Green?
In 2008 my friend Elryne told me Barack Obama would become president of the U.S.
Very FEW people I talked to agreed it would happen – but I believed her.

She also predicted Soylent Green would become a reality in the U.S.
There are already strong indications of this becoming true.

            And here is MY prediction:
IF President Donald J Trump is re-elected, we will have a CIVIL WAR.
IF Joe Biden (or some other democrat gets into the White House) we will have WORLD WAR III

Scotty, beam me up! Hello Scotty, hello …… do you hear me ….

Damn, I should have purchased my “communicator device” from Vladimir Putin instead of those damn Iranians!

          4. Thanks Dave for another good comment. I have the same feeling—that whatever happens it isn’t going to be good. Sorry I didn’t post this sooner, but my internet was out for the third time in the last couple of months. So, since I couldn’t get on line to post your comment or write anything, I spent a chunk of the day organizing my food storage shelves. Tomorrow I call for shooting lessons (I do have guns, just need some serious training) and wait for the security lights to arrive and be installed. I don’t see any downside to being prepared as possible.
However, the internet down reminded me of how bad it will be if we are blocked from most forms of communication.

          5. Hello Ann,

I do agree with you about being prepared – and one of those things you mentioned, i.e., shooting lessons – is something I also should do.

As for the your internet service being down: Not being able to communicate with others is definitely on the agenda of those persons behind the Covid-19 project.
There is no doubt in my mind the Bill Gates gang has a “black-out” all set up to be put in action at the appropriate moment. (November 2020 Election???)

Reading Leo’s last Blog Article last night reminded me of this:

I mailed you a LETTER of which you may or may not have received; but I was CORRECT about the “interference” with my computer’s “actions” – PROOF came from comments I received from joining in on one of the Microsoft Forum Threads regarding MICROSOFT UPDATE KB4560960 – (it stops one’s computer from printing out files stored on your computer).

Brief version here …. there were several people who agreed with me that Microsoft deliberately did this with KB4560960 (and the “KB” that was supposed to correct the problem never did get uploaded by Microsoft).

So I found out through “Google Search Engines” how to DISABLE KB4560960.
The info was NOT supplied by Microsoft – have no way of knowing who.
So I wanted to add this info to the forum thread. Guess What???

Microsoft SHUT DOWN additional replies to that forum thread – in other words now it is impossible to tell those people who replied to me, how they too can stop KB4560960.

          6. Yes, I did get your letter. I know from past experience that every effort is being made to shut down voices they don’t want to hear. Before RRW was taken down completely last summer thousands of readers arrived every day, now that number is in the hundreds. I wish I had brilliant ideas to share on the whole sorry business, but I don’t. I just keep putting a little news out there every day until I know one day I will be off line completely.

  2. A propos of nothing (in this particular RRW post), except EVERYTHING, here’s a message I just posted to the White House, as an answer to the question on their survey,

“Is there anything else you’d like to share regarding our 2020 Campaign Strategy?”

I think you should go back to what won you the Republican Primary and the Election in the first place: tough, strong, aggressive rhetoric, that skewers not just the doddering, half-witted Biden and his endless gaffs, but also the DemocRatic Party, which is what we’d really be electing: a MUCH more extreme, violent, radical Left party than any that has ever been in the White House before, even under Obama! Biden would not be running the country: he CAN’T: but he’d fill every post with radicals like Obama himself, perhaps a Clinton or two, with BLM revolutionaries, “Democratic Socialists”, with lots of the extremists from the Obama years, with Sanders, Warren, Harris, Rice, Power, Holder, Occasional Cortex: all the worst, nastiest, most amoral, America-hating Globalist scum that made the last four years so Hellish. Biden himself is almost beside the point: his ideas bear no resemblance whatever today to what even HE espoused in the past. These folks want REVOLUTION, they’re spoiling for a CIVIL WAR, they’re by far the most radical party in American history, and they’re licking their chops at the prospect of, as Obama threatened, “transforming America from the ground up”, permanently. They want to fill our country with legal and illegal aliens totally ignorant of our values; they want to give children under 18, illegal aliens and CRIMINALS the vote, defund the police, eliminate the Electoral College, empower Big Tech to end Freedom of Speech, put us all under the boot of the UN, go endlessly in debt to China, print trillions of dollars and hand them out to their friends, elect Muslims to every office in the land, and on and on…. In short, they want to END AMERICA AS WE’VE KNOWN IT FOR 231 YEARS!! Our parents and grandparents would be HORRIFIED! So please, GO NEGATIVE! We should be winning this HANDS DOWN. So, IMHO, we should go back to what put us in office in 2016: the naked, politically incorrect truth, and smashmouth campaigning. After all, it’s our only hope: if the DemocRats are elected, not only will there never be another white Republican president, but we won’t need to worry about all this anymore: our beloved, beautiful country, as we’ve known it for over two centuries, will exist no more. And thank you for your loyal service, and for this opportunity to express my views, the platforms for which are dwindling as I write.

Whew! Let’s hope SOMEBODY reads it….

(BTW, the only reason I use so many capital letters (“shouting”) is because none of these websites ever offers one of the greatest tools for writing ever invented: ITALICS.)

    1. Hello Michael Peppe,

I certainly understand where you are “coming from”; and I agree with you.
      Two things though:

You said: none of these websites ever offers one of the greatest tools for writing ever invented: ITALICS.

Can’t speak for Ann Corcoran (or my other favorite Leo Hohmann) as I have never used Word Press. However, “forums” (and there are various software developers) DO allow for “ITALICS” – and a whole lot of other options – which is primarily why my site is a “forum”.

I think I went a little further than you regarding those pesky (nasty) Democrats: I call them DemoRatazis (just add an “n” in there and will you get the idea of where I stand.
