Rohingya Muslims making a run for Australia; don’t believe Aussies will follow-through on get-tough policy

Here are some snippets of the story from The Sydney Morning Herald last week.

We are expected to believe that each of these Rohingya men and boys found $5000 each to hire people smugglers to get them to Australia (or Thailand)?

There are two things that interest me in this report.

First and foremost, how do abjectly poor asylum seekers find $5000 each to hire human traffickers?

This is my theory, I believe they are being paid by the likes of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to be the advancing army of Islam into Southeast Asia and Australia.  OIC knows that a demographic war (Al Hijra) is their best bet for world domination and they have been deeply involved in the destabilization of Burma.

The other problem I have with this report is the repetition of the media meme that the Rohingya were just minding their own business in Burma and the Buddhists came after them.  The Rohingya did their share of the killing!

PNG or no PNG, they are coming!

Myanmar’s Rohingya are fleeing their country in unprecedented numbers – and more and more are looking to Australia for sanctuary.

Undeterred by threats of resettlement offshore or years in immigration detention, increasing numbers of Myanmar’s Muslim ethnic minority are paying people smugglers up to $5000 to board boats for a complicated journey through Malaysia, Indonesia and, for those who can afford it, ultimately to Australia.

Advocacy group The Arakan Project estimates 37,000 Rohingya have boarded boats for those three countries in the past 10 months. Few Rohingya fleeing Myanmar have reached Australian shores previously but, following widespread communal violence last year and increasing state-sanctioned oppression since, the numbers have risen exponentially.

Mohammed(s) on the way!

Despite the risks, and Australia’s new “hardline” policy on boat arrivals, Australia is increasingly seen as an attractive option. In Kutupalong refugee camp, Mohammed Zolil says he fled after his two friends were killed in anti-Muslim attacks last year.

“What I hear from other people is it is peaceful in Australia, and so I wish I could go to Australia. I hear a lot of people go to Australia.”

He says Australia’s policy change is known, but people believe their people smugglers over a distant government.

“A few days ago, I’ve heard from someone over the phone that the government does not allow to go inside Australia, they’ll send them somewhere else . . . but even after all this difficulty, still people will try.”

Mohammed Iqbal Hussain, a teacher, says people are encouraged by others who’ve gone before them.  [There is that “sugar on the table” concept again—ed]

So, if you’ve gotten this far and are saying to yourself—too bad for Australia, remember that Rohingya are being resettled in Europe, Canada and the US.  The numbers are small so far, but US contractors, like the US Conference of Catholic Bishops are lobbying the State Department to bring them some Rohingya to add to their refugee diversity in your town!  Read all about it in our Rohingya Reports category with 153 previous posts.

Mohammad D. Mohammad food stamp fraud case, tip of iceberg says Heritage researcher

Last week we told you (here) about the bust on a convenience store in culturally-diverse Cleveland where chief perp Mohammad D. Mohammad and partners ripped-off the US taxpayer for $780,000 in a long-running food stamp trafficking scheme.

Cleveland ‘Mom & Pop’ store where Mohammad ripped off taxpayers (aka infidels) to the tune of $780,000!

The case was used in a story posted at MediaTrackers to give a lead-in to a new report on how widespread the fraud is.

The Heritage Foundation’s Robert Rector called cases like Mohammad’s—the “tip of the iceberg.”

A recently released USDA study found that the payoff for food-stamp traffickers has increased by over 256 percent since 2002. The nation’s food stamp rolls have increased dramatically in the past several years.

According to the study, the absolute dollar value of food-stamp fraud has increased, but government researchers found that more businesses were participating in such fraud — especially grocery stores in low-income neighborhoods, such as the Mount Pleasant neighborhood where Mohammad and Damra ran his scam for nearly a decade.

In an interview with Media Trackers, Heritage Foundation senior research fellow and domestic-policy expert Robert Rector indicated the Mohammad case was likely “just the tip of the iceberg.”

You can find the August 2013 study here. One finding of the report, using data from 2009-2011, is this:

A variety of store characteristics and settings were associated to the level of trafficking. Small stores—largely composed of smaller and medium sized groceries, and convenience stores—accounted for about 15 per cent of all redemptions, but were estimated to account for 85 percent of all trafficking redemptions.

I didn’t read the study, but I doubt they did any research on how many of these stores are run by immigrants.

Springfield, MA: Mayor wants help lobbying for more funding from state and feds for refugees

Update:  You might want to see what Tennessee is doing—-a Legislative Committee wants to know what refugee resettlement costs the state taxpayer, here yesterday.

You knew this was coming!  Democrat Mayor Sarno of Springfield has figured out how to be politically correct while complaining about the overload of impoverished third worlders being dropped off in his city—just join forces with the contractors and tell the taxpayers they need to pony-up more of their hard earned cash to help refugees.

When resettling the refugees’ extended family members they are required to be placed within a hundred miles of the contractor’s office, so you can see how handy Springfield is to get spillovers from other hot resettlement sites like Boston, Hartford, Providence and Albany.

Sarno says the median income of Springfielders is $32,124, but get this!  If you haven’t seen the news about the CATO study everyone was looking at yesterday, then you don’t know that Massachusetts is in the top five states in the nation where it pays more to be on welfare than to work!   Here is the Wall Street Journal:

Refugees and Asylees are entitled to all of this!  (See our fact sheet, here, for more goodies!)

WSJ:

The state-by-state estimates are based on a hypothetical family participating in about seven of the 126 federal anti-poverty programs: Temporary Assistance for Needy Families; the Women, Infants and Children program; Medicaid; Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; and receiving help on housing and utilities.

In Hawaii, that translates into a 2013 package of $49,175 — up $7,265 from an inflation-adjusted $41,910 in 1995. Rounding out the top five areas for welfare benefits, along with their 2013 amounts, were: the District of Columbia ($43,099), Massachusetts ($42,515), Connecticut ($38,761) and New Jersey ($38,728).

So how much more do Sarno and the contractors (who launder tax dollars through their supposed non-profit groups) want from you?

Here is the latest from Springfield about a meeting next Wednesday.  Concerned taxpayers should show up in mass!

In a letter to refugee support agencies, Mayor Domenic J. Sarno unveiled a four-point proposal that would call for more state and federal funding to extend assistance services and improve immigrant housing and neighborhoods.

In preparation for an Aug. 28 meeting designed to discuss concerns about refugees in Springfield, Sarno sent a request to officials at the Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts, Lutheran Social Services and the Catholic Charities Agency requesting a variety of data about refugees settled in the city and the services they receive.   [Let’s see if they are more forthcoming with data than their compatriots elsewhere in the US!—ed]

The meeting was scheduled after Sarno released a letter he sent to the U.S. State Department asking that requests for future resettlement of refugees in the city be denied. It was met with strong criticism from the three agencies and other social service organizations in Springfield.  [Again, these agencies are invested in Springfield.  They have offices and staff members and receive their taxpayer dole by being paid by the head to resettle refugees—no refugees no payola!—ed]

More money please!

Sarno called for the state and local agencies to join him in advocating for more funding for services through the state and federal government.

We will be anxiously waiting to see an explanation of how the contractors (and the US State Department) pick their resettlement targets!

He also asked for an explanation of the transitional assistance offered to families including initial and long-term cash assistance, employment services, educational support for children, medical assistance, psychological counseling and housing support.

“I would like to obtain a copy of any documents indicating and corresponding to the applicable criteria used to select what communities refugees are placed in…and whether there is some attempt to measure the impact on the host community of the significant number of refugees living at or below the poverty line,” he wrote.

Here is how they do it!  They just put pins in a map, quietly resettle a bunch of refugees, and see if anyone squawks.  If they can keep any complaints out of the media, then that town or city becomes “welcoming” and the spigot is opened wide!  Once a “preferred” community is established (with contractor offices in town, etc.), it is very hard (virtually impossible) to dislodge them.
