Somali stowaway’s mom found in Ethiopia, she wants to come to the US

Leave it to the UK Daily Mail to get an exclusive interview with the Hawaii-bound Somali boy’s mom.  He is still in a hospital in Hawaii, by the way.  No brain damage I hope!

Yahya Abdi wanted to get back to Africa.

Here is our earlier report on the story that stunned and dismayed the airline security world.

My first reaction to hearing the news, uncovered by the Daily Mail (we are so thankful for the British press), is once again we have a case of the UN and the US State Department not doing adequate screening (and believing the lies of Somalis who want a foot in America’s front door).

It has all been swept under the rug now, but longtime readers know that in 2008, the US State Department closed the family reunification program for Somalis (stayed closed for years) because they found (surprise!) widespread fraud (lying!)—tens of thousands had lied to get into the US!  None were ever deported.

Now, get this!  Mom is on her way here (or thinks she is) and she expects the US government to take care of her kids until she gets here.

Then, of course, who is going to pay for the legal wrangling in court as she attempts to get her kids back from her lying cheat of a husband—we are, the US taxpayer.  Why is all of this our problem?

The stowaway teenager who miraculously survived a five hour flight to Hawaii hidden in the wheel well of a Boeing 767 was falsely told by his own father that his mother was dead – and he discovered the truth two years ago, it was claimed today.

Yahya Abdi – pictured here for the first time – ran away from the home he shares with his father, stepmother and siblings because he wanted to find his mom, who he has not seen since 2006.

His mother Ubah Mohamed Abdullahi, 35, was left heartbroken when she split from her husband Abdulahi Abdi Yusef.  [I will bet you a buck that he had both wives at the same time—ed]

He remarried a woman called Sainab Abdi and then left with Ubah’s three children to travel to the United States.

But she is now in the process of immigrating to America and is determined to win her children back, exclusively telling MailOnline, ‘I need my children and they need me’.

Speaking on the phone through a translator from the Sheed-dheer Refugee camp in Ethiopia, she explained how her ex-husband had told her children, Yahya, Yassir and Najma she was killed in a rocket attack in Mogadishu.

Apparently furious Yahya only found out she was still alive two years ago, through the local Somali community.

The emotional mother said: ‘When they imigrated to the United they told the authorities I was dead.

I don’t know what this sponsor bit (below) is, however, you can be sure some rich American do-gooder isn’t going to “sponsor” her and take care of her and pay her legal bills!  Daily Mail continues:

‘I am currently in the process of getting a sponsor to move to the United States. It is a long process, but I will come and I will get full custody of my children.

‘I want the American Government to look after them until I come because I do not believe they are safe with their father and their stepmother. She treats my children badly, she has her own children and she doesn’t care about mine.

 The “American Government” is you, dear reader!

Here is a thought, maybe send them all back to the new government in Somalia to sort out their domestic dispute.

For new readers, we have now long surpassed 100,000 Somalis admitted to the US and just this fiscal year (2014) we have already admitted 3,708 additional Somali “refugees.”  At that rate, 2014 will be another banner year for Somali migration to America.

 

EEEK! Turkey deporting illegal aliens, UN silent

I don’t see the UNHCR squawking about Turkey deporting illegal aliens (most likely Muslim aliens to boot) as they wail and moan over Australia.

135 immigrants suspected of entering Turkey illegally were arrested in Turkey’s eastern province of Igdir, according to Igdir city police department.

Last week, the city’s security forces began operations to prevent human trafficking by checking highways to catch illegal immigrants.

During the operations, Turkish police officers revealed that they plan to deport the 135 illegal immigrants caught, including 120 Pakistanis, 11 Afghanis, three Somalis, and one Iranian national.

The migrants attempting to get into Australia are largely from those same countries, so why the double standard?

Save Wyoming for refugees from Jupiter!

Apparently this is for real, Wyoming is “welcoming” refugees from Jupiter.

While it might not be as fancy or futuristic as the name would imply, the Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport was christened to invite refugees from Jupiter who may have been fleeing a global catastrophe.

Consisting of little more than a dirt landing strip marked by a raggedy windsock, the “spaceport” in the northern part of Green River has been courting alien visitors since the mid-90’s. In 1994, NASA learned that Jupiter was in some danger of being hit by a number of errant fragments of the Shoemaker-Levy 9 Comet. The impacts were of great interest to the scientific community, but since the gas giant has never been thought to harbor intelligent life, the disaster seemed to be mostly academic. However a lack of evidence did not deter the city planners of Green River, Wyoming, who embraced America’s heritage as a refuge for the poor and huddled masses by making ready for any potential Jovian refugees.

Realizing that there would be nowhere for homeless aliens to land, the city officially renamed their small, 5,000 foot landing strip the “Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport.” Of course this change was not without opposition by residents who noted the already existing housing shortage and extant issue of terrestrial immigration.

I assume the governor, the Lutherans and the US State Department/ORR will be factoring this information into their refugee plan.

Australia turning back illegal aliens and the UN is hopping mad

It is working for Australia and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees is not happy.

If you have been following our reports on Australia (here) you know that after decades of boat people arriving on their shores and demanding asylum, the Abbott government is actively turning them back at sea (most are from faraway Muslim countries).

Just a reminder, a legitimate asylum seeker asks for refugee status in the first safe country he or she arrives in.  These ‘boat people’ have traveled through many safe countries before embarking on a sea voyage to Australia.  They are mostly ECONOMIC MIGRANTS, not legal refugees, who want to live in a first world country.  Most are also Muslims (Al-Hijra).

Remember this photo from earlier this year. These are Somalis in Indonesia planning their next move to get to Australia.  Indonesia is a safe country, why didn’t they ask for asylum there?

The United Nations refugee agency has asked Australia to prove it is not breaching the Refugee Convention with its policy of turning back asylum seeker boats.

Speaking in Jakarta, the UNHCR’s regional representative says the Australian Government has not responded to the UN’s concerns about the policies.

The request for information was made in January.

UNHCR regional representative James Lynch says people from seven boats that have been returned to Indonesia recently told the UN agency they made it to Australian land or at least its territorial waters.

He says if that is true, Australia’s responsibility is to allow them to be processed as asylum seekers.

Mr Lynch says it is significant that thousands of asylum seekers arrived in Australia until late last year but it is not a crisis by world standards.

Lynch goes on to compare Australia to the countries immediately surrounding Syria and says those countries have a crisis.  Well, they are also Muslim countries and we are told by the UNHCR that Muslims are the world’s inspiration for taking care of the stranger—-remember that in 2009 the UNHCR was sucking up to the promoters of Shariah Law.  I’m o.k. with giving those countries the credit as long as they keep the “refugees.”

Waahhhh!  Australia not following international law!

Mr Lynch has been attending a two-day meeting about protecting asylum seekers at sea. It attracted delegates from 13 countries, including Australia, and was co-hosted by Indonesia and the United Nations refugee agency.

He says the UNHCR understands Australia wants to stop people-smuggling networks and prevent deaths at sea but it needs to comply with its international obligations.

“There are obligations as a signatory to the 1951 Convention and the 1967 protocol, which say: if you intercept in your territorial waters, you should allow those in need of protection to have access to the asylum system,” he said.

Australian immigration minister:  so what else is new, they have always opposed our policy, and besides these aren’t refugees!

Immigration Minister Scott Morrison says he disagrees with the UNHCR’s criticism of the Federal Government’s policy.

“They’ve always opposed our turn-back policy,” Mr Morrison told Sky News.

“We’re talking about a secondary movement of [those] who are coming from halfway around the world.

“We’re not talking about people just walking straight across one border.

Ah, if only America had this kind of leadership!

Lewiston, ME: Wealthy Somali couple sentenced in housing fraud scheme

We earlier reported on the case of husband and wife welfare fraudsters here in 2010 and 2012.     More of David Lubell’s immigrant entrepreneurs?

They have now been sentenced to a measly few months in prison and three years on probation after serving their time.

Unhappy, and not at all remorseful, they are appealing their case to a higher court.

AUBURN — A Lewiston couple who owns Lewiston’s first halal market was sentenced Tuesday to a total of 19 months in jail for bilking the federal government out of more than $46,000 in housing subsidies.

Roda Abdi, 46, and her husband, Ali-Nassir Ahmed, 54, both of 208 Ash St., Lewiston, appeared in the Androscoggin County Law Library on Tuesday. Each was convicted of a single count of felony theft by deception at a bench trial last year.

Active-Retired Justice Robert Clifford sentenced Abdi to four years in prison with all but 10 months suspended; Ahmed received four years with all but nine months suspended. Both are to spend three years on probation once they’ve served their time in jail.

The couple remained free Tuesday pending appeal. They filed notice to take the case to the state’s highest court shortly after sentencing.

The couple who owned a halal market and apartment buildings had gobs of cash, but reported that they had no assets on forms for the housing subsidy.

Assistant Attorney General Leanne Robbin offered other examples of sentences for welfare fraud similar to those recommended for Abdi and Ahmed.

But unlike those defendants and unlike most Mainers, she said, the Lewiston couple had so much money at their disposal that they were able to buy a multi-unit apartment building in Lewiston and were in the process of buying a second building — all with cash. Deposits to their store accounts over 4½ years totaled more than $3.2 million, she said.

At the same time, they told the housing agency they had no income or assets, or minimal income.

So where does a refugee couple get millions of dollars in cash?  We may never know! (Sounds like a racist question!).

They have been (and still are!) promoting themselves as good role models for their fellow countrymen arriving in the Somali capital of New England—Lewiston.

“They have not accepted responsibility,” Robbin told the judge. Two dozen letters submitted to the court on the couple’s behalf suggest “they have not come clean with friends, family and acquaintances.”

They and their business are held up as models of good citizenry and community, Robbin said.

“That becomes a concern to the extent that they are translating for newcomers and helping them to transition to American society. We need to send a message that they are not role models in how they conducted themselves in defrauding the system,” Robbin said.

She noted that neither defendant had expressed remorse, nor accepted responsibility for his or her criminal actions.

What most Americans don’t get is that in Islamic culture, ripping off the infidel is perfectly legal and encouraged!
