Uruguay to resettle 120 Syrian Muslims

Isn’t it fortuitous that the Obama Administration just now sent six Guantanamo Bay former Islamic fighters to Uruguay as refugees.  The new Syrian refugee arrivals will have skilled Muslim political leaders upon arrival.  Wow! Uruguay is so lucky—a “conservative” Islamic seed community growing right there!  (just like Australia).

I don’t know about mosques in Montevideo, but they do like their tango. Will those “conservative” Syrians be entertained?

The Syrian teen, driven from his home by his country’s civil war, swipes across the world on a mobile phone map, over China and the blue expanse of the Pacific Ocean. He searches until finally he finds Uruguay.

For 19-year-old Ahmad Aloun and his family, the country some 12,000 kilometres away soon will become home. The tree-lined boulevards of Montevideo might as well be on another planet.

Uruguay has offered to accept 120 refugees from Syria’s civil war, the Alouns among them. It’s a small number compared to the three million Syrians who have fled the conflict, now in its fourth year, crowded into overwhelmed neighbouring countries or who tried to reach Europe.

Two years after they fled Syria, the UN refugee agency said the Alouns could resettle in Uruguay, offering them Spanish lessons, free health care and schooling for the children.

Mohammed Aloun hasn’t given much thought to how his conservative Muslim family will fit in. He’s unsure if there are mosques in Uruguay.   [They soon will have mosques, if they don’t already, and everything that goes with it—ed]

The Hijra (the migration) is proceeding full steam ahead.

Australian hostage-taker is an Iranian “refugee” who is also a suspect in his wife’s murder

Update:  Hostage crisis is over.  You can find the news everywhere.  Interesting to me is the fact that Fox News is actually identifying the terrorist as a “refugee” in print on the screen. Only a few years ago you would never have seen the word “refugee” used in any negative context.

Remember the Syrian refugees are coming!

Hot off the presses at the UK Daily Mail (thanks to the ever-watchful ‘Pungentpeppers’):

Man Haron Monis – also known as Sheik Haron – has been named as the gunman holding up to 15 people hostage in a Sydney café and is believed to be an Islamic State preacher who is on bail for accessory to murder.

The 49-year-old man lives in southwest Sydney, but is originally from Iran and a self-proclaimed sheik, and also sent hate mail to the families of Australian dead soldiers between 2007 and 2009, according to The Daily Telegraph.

The seige in the Lindt cafe in Martin Place on Monday follows an unsuccessful attempt to have these charges overturned in the High Court on Friday, The Age reported.

Monis received 300 community service hours and a two-year good behaviour bond for the correspondence, which he claims were his version of sympathy cards, sent with the help from his girlfriend Amirah Droudis.

Arriving as a refugee in Australia in 1996, the hostage-taker was charged as an accessory to the murder of his ex-wife – who was allegedly stabbed and set on fire on a flight of stairs in her western Sydney apartment block in November 2013.

He has also faced sexual abuse charges.

Just two days ago (a day before the hostage taking that is still on-going as of this writing) Australians learned that two more Muslim young women, wannabe jihadi brides successfully left Australia to join ISIS.  An earlier Australian jihadist was killed in Syria and her father now blames the Australian government for not being able to stop her!

I say let them go, and never let them back in to any civilized country.

Mohamed Karroum blames the Abbott government for the death of his adult daughter in Syria because they failed to stop her from leaving Australia (they had stopped her twice!). Any way to deport him back to where he came from?

A TEENAGER and her 20-year-old friend have become the first Australian women to “go it alone” to join terrorists in Syria and offer themselves as potential jihadi brides, intelligence agencies believe.

The girls, Hodan, 18 and Hafsa, 20, who are believed to have links with the Somali community, flew out of Sydney in the past fortnight to go overseas and are believed to have lied to their families about why they were travelling. The Sunday Telegraph has chosen not to publish their last names.

While there have been numerous cases of young Australian men being radicalised by Islamic State recruiters and women joining their husbands or boyfriends in the Syrian war zone, this is the first case of young women travelling independently to travel to the war zone.

If they travel to Islamic State’s stronghold in northern Syria, the province of al-Raqqa, the pair will face a jail term of up to 10 years if they ever return to Australia.  [Don’t let them in and save the taxpayers the cost of a trial and incarceration.—ed]

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said fresh reports of teenagers travelling to the region was of great concern.

Islamic State has issued a worldwide recruitment drive to secure brides for jihadists fighters.

Murdered Australian woman Amira Karroum, who grew up in Brisbane, died after she travelled to Syria with her husband.

Adding insult to Australia’s injury, the father of Amira Karroum wants to sue the government of Australia for letting her leave the country!  It’s just as I said about Sweden yesterday, let them in out of humanitarian zeal and then get kicked in the teeth—when will leaders of first world countries get it?    Here is the recent story at the Daily Telegraph.   Then watch the obnoxious father, Mohamed Karroum, on A Current Affair.
