Tensions mount over growing Somali population in St. Cloud, MN

Update April 10th:  More tension in St. Cloud, here.

Update March 24th:  Robert Spencer warns of trumped up incidents of supposed anti-Muslim bias in Minnesota Schools, here.

Two stories were in my alerts this evening involving St. Cloud, MN.  We told you about problems there in January here.

The first story is from UPI.  A man has been arrested for making on-line threats against Somalis.  He says he was angry about how awful they are to live with in his apartment building.

NEW HOPE, Minn., March 23 (UPI) — A New Hope, Minn., man said he threatened to harm Somalis because he was angry at people in his apartment building, court documents indicate.

James Miller 49, was ordered held Monday on a $50,000 bond on charges of making terroristic threats against those attending a Somali cultural event at St. Cloud State.

The event had been advertised on Craigslist with an admissions price of $10 per person, the St. Cloud (Minn.) Times reported Tuesday.

“I’ll bring my rifle. I’ll gladly pay $10 for target practice,” said a response to the post that police allegedly traced to Miller’s computer.

Miller, who was arrested Friday, allegedly told police he posted the comment because he lives in an apartment building with a large Somali population and was angry with them.

“They have no respect for anyone else in the building,” Miller was quoted as telling police.

The second story is from a Jewish website.  Students at a school in St. Cloud openly discuss their feeling of being invaded by Somalis.  They say their anger stems from the preferential treatment the Somalis receive.

Adams said his attitude toward Muslim students is also common among many of his classmates. One of those classmates is his friend, 18-year-old Matt Mayavski, who said a few people at the school call themselves “rednecks” on campus. Others make their views known by wearing Confederate flag belt buckles or belts or wearing certain brands of clothing, said Mayavski, a lifelong St. Cloud resident who also went to Technical High School. They flash the Confederate battle flag — an offensive symbol to many blacks — because they believe in small government. They say it has nothing to do with race.

The resentment stems from feeling like Muslim students receive preferential treatment, Mayavski said. “Towards the end of my junior year, I was in math class and the Somalians asked to go pray before lunch,” he said. “Well, I went to ask my teacher for [a prayer break] and [she] sent me down to the office and I got written up for it. And I was like, ‘Well, how can the school respect their religion, but they can’t respect ours?’”

Of course, it’s not all the Somalis’ fault. Who allowed them to come to St. Cloud in the first place? Who allows the Somali students to take a prayer break but denies that option to the White students? And who benefits from all this disruption, both on the surface and behind the scenes?

To answer Matt’s question about how they got to Minnesota, go to this website.  One or several of the agencies listed on this page brought them to Minnesota.  As for who benefits from all the disruption—the Far Left benefits.  This is what Saul Alinsky, Obama’s mentor taught, in order to bring fundamental “change” one must bring crisis and instability to communities.  One must pit the “have-nots” against the “haves.”   A ‘Norman Rockwell’ like community is not going to want to change, only a community completely destablized will ask the government to take control.

They and others concerned in the St. Cloud area should contact their Congressman and US Senators and ask them to solve the problem because it is they who are ultimately responsible for overseeing what the US State Department is doing with refugees and ultimately where they are located.

For new readers, more Somalis are on the way:

We have learned that 270 Somali illegal aliens who entered the US recently through Mexico are being sought by ICE.  The fear is that they are connected to the terrorist group, Al-Shabaab here.

For information on Somali missing youths, American citizens who have gone to Somalia to learn the Jihad trade, some leaving through Mexico, use those search words.  We have written dozens of stories on the case.  For more on Al-shabaab (sometimes spelled Al-shabab) also use our search function.

The US State Department has admitted over 80,000 Somali refugees to the US (this linked post continues to be one of the most widely read posts we have ever written) in the last 25 years and then in 2008 had to suspend family reunification because widespread immigration fraud was revealed through DNA testing.  That specific program has not yet been reopened (that we know of), but will be soon

Nevertheless, thousands of Somali Muslims continue to be resettled by the State Department as I write this. We recently learned that we will be taking 6000 Somalis this year from one camp in Uganda and as many as 11,000-13,000 total from around the world.

Frustrated and sick of this?  Complain here!   Do not forget to copy your complaints to your two US Senators and your Congressman (add in your governor and state representatives for good measure).

And, they have a lot of intersting observations about the attendees and some telling photos.  Check it out here.  Hat tip: Susan

Here is my previous post (one of many) on the March on America sponsors.  Revisit that post after you’ve had a look at the socialists, communists, fans of che and other assorted anarchists and revolutionaries who attended.

Lutheran says Glenn Beck was right

Fox News Glenn Beck told his viewing audience recently to take a look at your church’s website and run like heck if you see the words “social justice” and/or “economic justice.”  He said they were code for a socialist political agenda

I’ve been lumping all Lutherans together (as I did in my remarks about the March on America on Sunday, here).  But, now, thanks to this article that came to my attention this a.m. I understand better.  Just as there is a massive split in the Catholic Church between both religiously and politically conservative parishoners and far left activists (USCCB?), so too does the split exist in the Lutheran Church.

Here is the article that helped clarify for me the split among Lutherans in the US:

Contact: Rev. CJ Conner, Author of “Jesus and the Culture Wars,” 651-373-9137

MEDIA ADVISORY, March 22 /Christian Newswire/ — Rev. CJ Conner, author of “Jesus and the Culture Wars,” submits the following and is available for comment:
When Glenn Beck pleaded, “I beg you. Look for the words “social justice” or “economic justice” on your church Web site. If you find it, run as fast as you can,” he raised the virulent ire of “progressive” Christians.

Many congregations and people are already running as fast as they can in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. At least 160 congregations have left the ELCA since their August decision to ordain practicing gay pastors in the name of social justice. Many of these churches are 10-30 times the size of the average 110 member ELCA Congregation. But gay ordination is not the primary reason they are running for the exits.

The 6,000 member Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley Minnesota has decided to begin severing ties with the ELCA. At the heart of their decision is “The ELCA’s emphasis on formulating and advocating numerous political and social positions, which has gone beyond the scope of the mission of the Church.” And, “At ELCA synod conventions, instead of focusing on how to share the good news of Jesus Christ in the world, they have acted more like the platform committee of a political party or political action group.” They are leaving because this pre-occupation with the “progressive” political agenda “causes division” and “distracts our church away from keeping the ‘main thing’ the ‘main thing’.”

Beck is right.

An analysis of the ELCA national website shows that words like salvation, repentance, and grace are outnumbered 2-to-1 by phrases like “social justice” and “advocacy.” The ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson shares a common agenda with President Obama- an agenda finely honed at the Saul Alinsky church-based community organizing center, Gamaliel, in Chicago- where both men got their start on their road to power.

There was a reason why Alinsky dedicated his book “Rules for Radicals” to Satan.

The so-called “Mainline Church” has been on the forefront of the “progressive” movement that has so bitterly divided the nation. From their policies against Israel, to their feverish advocacy for “health care and immigration reform”, to their advocacy for gay marriage, unfettered abortion rights, and a whole host of policies long associated with communist regimes rather than the Christian Church, “progressive” denominations like the ELCA have been leading the charge for years to divide and conquer America, impose their utopian views, and destroy American freedom.

In some ways maybe it’s a good thing that Obama was elected because now it becomes clearer who represents which world view and we can all stop muddling around in the middle.  Baron Bodissey said at Gates of Vienna recently that it is good that the final showdown will likely come in this generation.

So how does this involve refugees?     Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services (one of nine soon to be ten federal refugee contractors)  is in the political Far Left camp—the camp of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.  Here they are a partner of ELCA.  Here is LIRS history that includes ELCA.

I sure hope we don’t find out that the large outlay of federal money going to LIRS for refugee care is helping support the ELCA as we learned was happening in the floundering Episcopal Church.

And, you know what is so funny (sad! hypocritical!),  LIRS that supported that demonstration for humanity on the Mall on Sunday is often cited as a refugee agency not taking very good care of the human beings they are paid to resettle.  It is becoming increasingly clear to me that the refugees, the human beings, are just pawns in a larger political game.

Use our search function for ‘Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services’ for more.  I discussed “progressive Christianity” here last October in a post about “progressives” pushing Japan to accept Rohingya Muslims into their country.
