Obama's illegal 'refugee' resettlement program for Central American 'children' up and running

The Obama Administration is writing refugee law with its new Central American Minors “refugee” resettlement plan.  And, apparently Congress is unwilling to defend its power under the Constitution. So what else is new!

The “children” won’t need to ride in on top of a train. We are flying them in just as we do refugees from around the world. http://www.tucsonweekly.com/TheRange/archives/2015/02/09/immigration-officials-announce-an-in-country-refugee-parole-program-for-central-american-minors

This so-called Central American Minors Refugee/Parole Program (known as CAM) has simply rewritten the definition of the word refugee.  Legitimate refugees are by international law and US law supposed to be able to prove they have been persecuted for one of several reasons—religion, political view, membership in certain groups, and race.
People looking to improve their economic condition are not refugees!    See my earlier post here for more.
This is a good article at Newsday, focused mostly on the NY, Long Island area but it gives us some useful updated information.  Thanks to reader Chris for sending it.
There is also a map which shows where the tens of thousands of ‘children’ (mostly teenage boys) were distributed around the US in the last year or so.
Ostensibly the program is meant to stem the illegal invasion of the border, but it isn’t.  It is really, in my view, meant to expand the definition of ‘refugees’ and eventually, I predict, it will be available to other poor people in other third world hellholes way beyond Central America.
I’ve snipped just a small amount of the article, but there is much more so please read the whole thing!

Hundreds of Central American children are seeking to come to Long Island and other parts of the nation on a new path carved by President Barack Obama for minors “at risk of harm” in their home countries, according to a federal agency and a local resettlement group.

Children from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala who prove they are fleeing danger will be placed on flights to airports where their parents will meet them. The number coming will be limited by the program’s rules, as well as yearly quotas for refugees from Latin America and the Caribbean, officials said.

Refugee contractors monopolize the program!

Rep. Peter King, chairman of important House Homeland Security subcommittee is OK with this illegal expansion of refugee law!

In this next section we get further evidence that this program is also a boon to our usual cabal of ‘non-profit’ resettlement contractors because they are PAID to process the children.  One is not even permitted to use other help to process in one’s children, applications must go through groups like Catholic Charities!
Newsday continues:

As of June, about 200 petitions had been filed under the new initiative by immigrants seeking to legally bring their children to Long Island — mostly from El Salvador — and another 200 were waiting to file their requests, said Carmen Maquilon, immigrant refugee services director at Catholic Charities in Amityville. The nonprofit is the only group authorized in Nassau and Suffolk counties to file those requests for admission as refugees or immigration parole recipients with the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program.

[…]

Applications reported

The U.S. Department of State, which administers the new program for minors, reported receiving 1,385 individual applications from throughout the United States as of June 8 — 1,139 for children in El Salvador, 21 for children in Guatemala and 225 for children in Honduras. The agency did not say how many of the applications were from New York.

So much for help from Congress!

U.S. Rep. Peter King (R-Seaford), whose district includes communities where many immigrants’ kids have resettled, said he is not opposed to the refugee program.

 More here.

Investigation needed!

Back in 2013, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (one of nine federal resettlement contractors) sent a delegation to Central America and returned to write a report that predicted that 60,000 unaccompanied alien children would flood our southern border in 2014.  They hit the number almost exactly on the head.  I’ve wondered ever since if they were good guessers or if they actually went to Central America and LIT THE FUSE on the invasion.   Here is one post where I mention my theory.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful if some investigative reporter dug into what happened on that Bishops’ trip in 2013!
By the way, the Catholic Charities office mentioned in the Newsday article is a subcontractor of the USCCB.
All of our posts on the illegal alien ‘children’ going back many years, are archived with the phrase ‘unaccompanied minors.‘  Today, I primarily use the phrase ‘unaccompanied alien children.’

More headaches for Germany as asylum center torched

The latest ‘Invasion of Europe’ news…..

Update July 23rd:  German Justice Minister condemns attacks on asylum centers.

Over a thousand residents of the Bavarian town of Eichstatt say “Nein” to plan to house asylum seekers. Photo: https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eichst%C3%A4tt

From National Catholic Reporter:

Munich—A German Catholic church leader condemned an arson attack that destroyed a reception center for asylum seekers.

Cardinal Reinhard Marx of Munich-Freising, president of the German bishops’ conference, said the attack revealed that “some groups” were trying to “sow hatred” against migrants.

The July 16 incident in the Bavarian town of Reichertshofen, is the latest in a wave of attacks against hostels for asylum seekers as anti-immigration sentiments rise in Germany in the face of unprecedented numbers of asylum applications.

Noting that there have been 150 attacks against centers for refugees and asylum seekers in the first half of 2015, Marx said the church must make clear its opposition to such “hatred and violence.”

[….]

About 1,200 of the 7,780 residents of the town, located 40 miles north of Munich in the diocese of Eichstatt, had signed a petition against the project.

[….]

Germany is expecting an influx of 450,000 refugees and asylum seekers this year, which is more than double the number of those who arrived in 2014.

With numbers that high, I suspect that tensions are going to get a whole lot worse.

Howie Carr remembers Ted Kennedy (and not fondly)

Here is a good piece I missed a couple of days ago, but wanted to be sure you all see it!  Radio talk show host Howie Carr penned this op-ed in the days following the latest Islamic terror attack on US soil—the Chattanooga killings.  If you have been following RRW, you know the now deceased Senator Ted Kennedy was the driving force behind the Refugee Act of 1980 (Then Senator Joe Biden was one of its chief co-sponsors).

Thank Ted and Joe for the Islamists living among us!

By the way, Hyannis was never a preferred resettlement site, and, in 2014, Delaware got a big fat zero number of refugees.
From the Boston Herald:

Every time another foreign terrorist murders Americans in cold blood, I think of Ted Kennedy.

It’s still unclear how this latest Middle East monster infiltrated the United States. But you can bet it involved his family taking advantage of one of Ted Kennedy’s “landmark” laws — the Immigration Reform Act of 1965, perhaps, or the Refugee Act of 1980.

Or maybe his father utilized one of the “terrorist visas” enshrined by the Immigration Act of 1990. That catastrophe, by the way, was signed into law by Juan Ellis Bush’s father, Bush 41.

Teddy’s fingerprints are all over each of these disastrous laws — as well as so many others.

These are Ted Kennedy’s words from 1965, when he was first promoting his plot to import the Third World here:

“First, our cities will not be flooded with a million immigrants annually … Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset … Contrary to the charges in some quarters, (the bill) will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area.”

So Kennedy lied, what else is new!

Bhutanese refugees in Ohio need more costly mental health care due to high suicide rate

There is nothing new in this story from the The Columbus Dispatch.  We have reported ad nauseum about the high suicide rate among Bhutanese (really Nepali) refugees first admitted during the Bush Administration.  Even before Bush’s Asst. Secretary of State for Population Refugees and Migration, Ellen Sauerbrey, gave the go-ahead to resettle 60,000 from UN camps (the UN wanted to close the camps so we said sure! and now we are up to over 80,000 Bhutanese scattered across America) we learned that the Bhutanese really preferred to live in their own culture in their part of the world.

The “Bhutanese” are really Nepali people who had lived in Bhutan. Bhutan expelled them and Nepal didn’t want them back. So, why was it in our national interest to bring over 80,000 to America? It was a Bush Administration decision. Did the Republicans want to import more cheap labor?

See our huge archive on the Bhutanese (mostly Hindu) migration to America by clicking here.   It goes back nearly eight years to a time when the Bhutanese did not want to be “scattered to the four winds.”
For all of you contemplating ‘welcoming’ refugees to your towns and cities, remember that health care/mental health care costs will be borne by state and local taxpayers.
From The Columbus Dispatch  (hat tip: Julie).  What is going on in Ohio that there is so much immigration and refugee news coming out of the state (see our Ohio archive)?  A suspicious person might think that Ohio was somehow being targeted for colonization!

So they recently surveyed 200 members of the Nepali-speaking Hindu minority who had fled the Himalayan mountain kingdom of Bhutan a quarter-century ago during an ethnic cleansing led by the Buddhist elite.

What they discovered shocked them.

Bhutanese refugees in central Ohio are twice as likely to report thinking about suicide as are those elsewhere in the U.S. They have high rates of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress and report that they smoke and use alcohol more frequently than other Bhutanese refugees.
“It’s a serious wake-up call,” said Surendra Bir Adhikari, an administrator for the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services who led the research project.

[….]

Between October 2008 and September 2014, 5,654 Bhutanese were resettled in Ohio, including 1,738 in Franklin County. The total population is larger because of the family members and others who have arrived in the state from other parts of the U.S.

Local leaders of the Bhutanese community estimate the total population at close to 20,000, but state officials think it is lower. In 2012, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that the suicide rate among Bhutanese refugees resettled in America was 20.3 per 100,000 people. That’s nearly twice the rate among the general U.S. population and higher than the global suicide rate of 16.9 percent.

No jobs and yet we keep the refugee flow coming!  Look at the Ohio numbers on this map!

Besides facing language and religious barriers, refugees worry about loved ones and friends left behind. And there’s often a disconnect between their idyllic views of life in America and the difficulties they encounter finding jobs that pay well.

[….]

Much more needs to be done to address the social isolation, substance abuse and trauma experienced by refugees and immigrants, local and state officials say.

They want “mental-health first-aid training” offered to help identify, understand and respond to signs of addiction and mental illnesses in refugees. They’d like to see more health-care systems provide both medical and mental-health services under one roof to lessen the stigma.

Conservative Review on Chattanooga and our LEGAL immigration system admitting potential jihadists

Here is a piece I missed from last Friday at Conservative Review written by one of the sharpest policy minds in the blogosphere, Daniel Horowitz.
From Chattanooga: The Effects of Our Suicidal Immigration Policy‘ (hat tip: Joanne):

After 9/11, when the bipartisan 9/11 Commission identified the obvious root cause of the attack as an immigration problem, we doubled down on stupidity. The U.S. has admitted roughly 1.6 million individuals from predominantly Muslim countries since 9/11 – twice the rate of immigration from that part of the world relative to the previous decade.

Trojan horse cover
Get it and read it!

[….]

According to a new poll commissioned by the Center for Security Policy, 51% of Muslims in America believe “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to sharia.” Twenty-nine percent agree that violence against those who insult Mohammad is acceptable and 25% agree that violence against America can be justified as part of Global Jihad. Among males under the age of 45 that number rises to 36%. Twenty-nine percent of males under 45 believe that violence against America is justified in order to make Sharia the law of the land. With an estimated 3 million Muslims in this country (projected to triple by 2050), that could mean there are hundreds of thousands of radicalized ones.

The more precipitously Muslim immigrants are admitted to this country, the less likely they will assimilate and the more likely they will cluster in cities and cultivate a climate of Jihad. The numbers speak for themselves. This is by no means the majority of Muslims, but 25% support for Jihad is an awful lot of security risks, especially among young males.

[….]

One of the most imminent threats to our country is the broken refugee system.

Continue reading here and see three things Horowitz says Congress must do to keep us safe.
I suggest a fourth!  In addition to holding up the Syrian resettlement, we need a moratorium on all immigration from countries that hate us and it isn’t simply to avoid more terror attacks, it is to stop the HijraHijra is the insidious Islamic Doctrine of immigration—Mohammed told his followers to go forth and spread Islam across the world and they are doing it!  That (for me) is the existential threat facing America.  It may take them decades to achieve their goal, but they work on the migration jihad every single day as we simply talk about terrorism in the short term.
By the way, I was glad to see that Horowitz has screen shots from the State Department data base I mention frequently.
