The truth is that Gulf Arab States do not resettle refugees (even Muslim ones)! US expected to take them PERMANENTLY

One of the top posts for the month so far was this one: Why should the US and Europe take Syrian refugees while the Gulf Arab States take ZERO?
And, since stories like those at Breitbart flew around the world, the Gulf Arab states have had to defend the charges by claiming they do ‘welcome’ Syrians to live in their wealthy countries—-as guest workers!

Refugees become permanent citizens, guest workers do not!

Readers, it is really important that you understand what is happening when the UN High Commissioner for Refugees puts demands on Western countries throughout Europe, Australia, Canada and New Zealand—it is telling us that we must PERMANENTLY resettle the ‘refugees’ with no expectation that they will ever go home even if the civil war in Syria ended next month!
The refugees we take in eventually become naturalized (voting!) citizens.  Not so for those Muslim guest workers going to Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Middle East.
I think many Americans, who haven’t followed this complex issue, do not understand this concept.  Most assume that the ‘refugees’ will go home someday!  Paul Nachman, writing at VDARE, addressed this issue here last week.
This is a really good explanation from Deborah Amos at National Public Radio:

As the numbers mount, with Europe overwhelmed, the blame game has begun. Why don’t the richest Gulf Arab states — the diplomatic and financial sponsors of Syria’s rebel groups — resettle these desperate refugees?

RandaSlim_hiRes
Randa Slim, associated with the Rockefeller Bros. Fund AND The New America Foundation, two of those huge advocacy groups promoting more refugee resettlement to America says of the Gulf States: They can’t afford to bring in the Syrians because they “will bring their fight with them.” And, she says, they “can’t afford to do this.” But we can? See Slim’s bio here: http://www.mei.edu/profile/randa-slim

Even Gulf Arab citizens are raising the question: #ShameOnArabRulers is trending on Middle Eastern Twitter accounts.

[….]

Gulf officials are on the defensive and have been forced to address the issue publicly.

[….]

The Saudi Foreign Ministry challenged the charges by issuing official numbers that are impossible to verify independently, saying “the Kingdom has received around 2.5 million Syrians since the beginning of the conflict.”

[….]

While it’s true that the Gulf States have allowed thousands of Syrians to come on work visas, many Syrians say they face severe restrictions in these countries. Some have decided they would rather risk the difficult road to Europe.

“I will live here for five years, ten years, and then what?” says Dahlia, a Syrian who fled her home in Aleppo and joined relatives in the Gulf city-state of Dubai. “You never belong, you never feel you are safe, your residency can be canceled at any time and then what? Go where?”

Citizenship is not an option, even for workers who stay for decades.

[….]

The fact is that Gulf countries don’t accept refugees for resettlement because none of their governments officially recognize the legal concept. Even in Jordan, Syrians fleeing the civil war are called “guests,” the expectation being that they won’t stay.

Arab governments refused to sign the 1951 international convention on refugee rights, says Nadim Shehadi, head of the Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. “The convention gives a mandate to UNHCR to do permanent settlement in the host countries or resettlement in third-party states,” says Shehadi.

This was unacceptable to Arab governments 60 years ago — and still is today.

So much for Muslim charity toward fellow Muslims.  So, tell me again why the US must take mostly Muslim Syrians?

Hillary says US should admit 65,000 Syrians in coming year

We mentioned this news briefly yesterday (Hillary following the lead of the Senate Jihad Caucus?), but today I see the news is all over my alerts.  Here is one story at CBS News.  Oh, and btw, for all of you closely following the Benghazi tragedy, she does discuss it here:

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Sunday that the United States should accept 65,000 refugees from Syria to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis created by the war there.

Hillary
We should take 65,000 Syrians and settle them where you live.

“We’re facing the worst refugee crisis since the end of World War II and I think the United States has to do more,” the former secretary of state said Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” “I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in.”

She said there should be a focus on admitting the most vulnerable, like persecuted religious minorities, or those who had been brutalized, like the Yazidi women [The last time we checked the data, only 1 Yazidi had been admitted in the Syrian flow to America so far—ed].

Hillary has got to know that the UN is choosing mostly Sunni Muslims for the US.  I sure hope that she and her pals don’t think that because Assad (who by all accounts has tried to shield the Christians) is a Shiite and that the Sunnis constitute a “religious minority!”   Just a reminder that Al-Qaeda and ISIS are Sunnis.
Then she calls for a confab at the UN where world leaders would guilt-trip others to do more.  Except that no one will have the guts to tell the Gulf Arab states they have to take in Syrian refugees.

Clinton also said, “I want the United States to lead the world,” and said the United Nations Secretary General should call for a meeting at the upcoming U.N. General Assembly meeting in which countries make specific commitments about to provide money and aid.

For new readers and the media (which I have seen in recent weeks is extremely uninformed about the Refugee Admissions Program of the UN/US State Department), here is a list of 190 or so US cities where Syrians will be resettled.  Any town within a hundred mile radius of a resettlement office is also fair game.

Germany: Asylum seeker brags that he killed for ISIS

Invasion of Europe News……

Update:  In a different case, an ISIS member posing as an asylum seeker is arrested, here.
Here is the brief story at the Daily Mail:

Merkel grumpy
Meanwhile ‘Mama Merkel’ says the migrant crisis in Europe is everyone’s responsibility. After she put out the German welcome mat, didn’t she see that hundreds of thousands of Middle Easterners would head for Germany (and must cross other countries that don’t want to be colonized to get to Germany)? Vast numbers of them are so-called “economic migrants” and not legitimate asylum seekers.

Police are investigating whether an asylum seeker living in Germany fought for Islamic State, it has been reported.

The Syrian man, who lives in a shelter in the north-east region of Brandenburg, allegedly told other refugees he had been a member of ISIS.

German newspaper Welt am Sonntag, reported that the man was filmed boasting about his blood-thirsty past.
Investigators are now trying to determine whether the Syrian was a member of ISIS, the newspaper reported.

Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office said the suspect was filmed by other refugees boasting about having killed for the terrorist group.

The Guardian  reported overnight that European leaders will gather on Wednesday to try to figure out what the h*** they are going to do about the invasion. (not their words!)
See our extensive archive on the ‘Invasion of Europe’ going back years, here.  Even casual observers have seen this crisis building for a long time and the chickens in the EU leadership did nothing to get in front of it.

House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul introduces bill to restrain Obama on Syrian refugee resettlement

Too much is happening at once!  It turns out that just as we were reporting that House Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul (R-TX) was signing on to the Babin bill, he was introducing a bill of his own.

Turkey syrians
Of all the countries where refugees are processed in to America, Turkey is the 6th largest sending location in the world. How can we be sure they are being properly screened? See processing country  by going here and then scroll to ‘processing country’ map: http://www.wrapsnet.org/Reports/AdmissionsArrivals/tabid/211/Default.aspx

Thanks to Suzanne for spotting this press release from Friday.  It is too soon to know what this means, however, it appears to be headed for the House Judiciary Committee (Goodlatte and Gowdy).
So far we have not heard a word from that committee since the “consultation” with Sec. of State Kerry was held about ten days ago on the President’s ambitious plan to bring thousands of mostly Muslim Syrian refugees into the US starting on October 1.
I’m wondering if a bill like this could be added to something already headed to the House floor?
Here is the full press release from McCaul on Friday.  Hopefully we will know more tomorrow.

McCaul Introduces Bill to Give Congress Oversight of Syrian Refugee Resettlement Program

WASHINGTON, DC– Today, Congressman Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, introduced the Refugee Resettlement Oversight and Security Act. If enacted into law, this legislation would give the American people’s representatives the chance to vote up or down on the President’s plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees into the United States and improve the security vetting process. Specifically, this bill will:

~Require affirmative approval by both the House and Senate before any refugees are admitted to the U.S.

~Allow Congress to block any inadequate refugee resettlement plan put forward by the President.

~Require the Administration, when considering the admission of refugees from Iraq and Syria, to prioritize the resettlement of oppressed religious minorities.

~Ensure DHS, in coordination with DNI and FBI, provides new security assurances before admitting refugees into the country and for the Governmental Accountability Office to conduct a sweeping review of security gaps in the current refugee screening process.

McCaul: “Many Americans are understandably concerned about the threat posed by inadequate security screening procedures for refugee seeking entry into the United States. ISIS themselves have stated their intention to take advantage of the crisis to infiltrate the west. We have to take this threat seriously.

This bill will rein in the Administration’s refugee resettlement plans and give Congress more control over the process by requiring the Administration to get affirmative approval from Congress through the enactment of a joint resolution before any refugees may be admitted into the United States.

These important security updates to the refugee process are necessary for not only the security of the United States, but for the safety of the refugees.”

Kerry now says 85,000 total refugees for FY2016; Hillary still wants 65,000 Syrian Muslims

That 85,000 number (from all refugee sending countries) is 15,000 over what the Obama Administration has been asking for (and mostly gotten) in each of his previous years in office.
This new number is also higher than the one previously mentioned, so will Kerry now return to the Senate and House Judiciary Committees for further legally required “consultations?”
(Go here to see Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Grassley’s letter to Kerry in which Grassley references only a 5,000 increase in the numbers just ten days ago.)

Kerry and German
Kerry and German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier. I wonder if Kerry told the House and Senate Committee Chairmen before he told the Germans?

From NBC News (hat tip: Julia):

The U.S. is offering new details about its plan to ease the Syrian refugee crisis by significantly increasing the number of worldwide refugees it will take in over the next two years.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says the U.S. will accept 85,000 refugees from around the world next year, up from 70,000, and the number will rise to 100,000 in 2017.

Aides to Kerry say that many, though not all, of the additional refugees would be Syrian.

Here again for those who doubt me:  The UN is picking our refugees!

The migrants would be referred by the United Nations, screened by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and resettled around America.

Kerry made the announcement Sunday during a visit to Berlin after meeting with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to discuss the mass migration of Syrians fleeing their civil war.

Here’s Hillary!

Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton said Sunday on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” that as many as 65,000 Syrian refugees should be taken in.  [Does Hillary know that 95% are Muslims?—ed]

House and Senate Judiciary Chairmen now should call Kerry for an on-the-record “consultation,” not one of those behind closed door deals they have been having!
