Angelina Jolie foundation behind getting lawyers for illegal alien 'children,' calls them refugees

Update!  Oops! Thanks to all who spotted it—wrong link in here earlier today!

The US border invasion by so-called ‘Unaccompanied alien children’ is on and is predicted to be as big as the wave that washed over Texas and Arizona in 2014.

Jolie, as special ambassador to the UNHCR, knows darn well what the real definition of a refugee is. She is part of a huge worldwide political movement attempting to convince you that anyone on the move for any reason is entitled to refugee protection. However, the news is not making the front page yet, and I predict every effort is being made to hide the frightening numbers as revealing them will only add fuel to the fire of Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again campaign.  (And, it is the left-leaning media’s job to keep Trump out of the White House.)
Here is the story from Phoenix New Times:

Talk about bad timing. In an election year rife with anti-immigrant sentiment, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol statistics show that apprehensions of unaccompanied minors from Central America have spiked to levels near those in the first six months of fiscal year 2014, when the issue became a political football and a source of hysteria for some Americans.

According to a recent report by the Pew Research Center, CBP apprehended 27,754 unaccompanied minors on the U.S.-Mexico border during the fist six months of the 2016 fiscal year, which began this past October 1. That’s close to the mark reached for the first six months of fiscal year 2014 (28,579) and 78 percent higher than apprehensions during the first six months of fiscal year 2015.

Continue reading, then toward the end we are told the ‘children’ are refugees!

These ‘children’ are illegal aliens NOT REFUGEES!

The reporter quotes extensively from Wendy Young described here:

Wendy Young, president of the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit Kids in Need of Defense (KiND), an organization co-founded by actress Angelina Jolie, which works to pair volunteer attorneys with children seeking asylum in this country.

She calls them refugees and worries there will be a backlash against the children!  No Ms. Young the backlash will be a political one against you and others in the Open Borders movement who work day and night to hoodwink Americans.

“We are quite concerned that there will be a huge backlash against these kids,” Young says, “and that we’re going to forget that they’re refugees and we’re going to forget that they are children and adopt even harsher law-enforcement policies to push them back.”

Young, like all the other advocates for Open Borders is attempting to change the definition of ‘REFUGEE.’  These ‘children’ looking for a better life and jobs in America are NOT REFUGEES no matter how many times people like Angelina Jolie and Wendy Young say they are.  A legitimate asylum claim can only be made if the alien proves that he (mostly teenage boys in this case!) or she would be persecuted for their race, religion, nationality or political persuasion.
Escaping crime and poverty do not change an illegal alien into a legitimate refugee!
And, by the way, a legitimate asylum seeker is required to apply for asylum in the first safe country they come to.  For the Central American teenagers that country would be Mexico!  Just like their counterparts in Europe, these illegal alien migrants are ‘asylum shopping!”
See our previous posts on this issue. Stories are archived under the subject heading ‘unaccompanied minors.

Care and legal fees for the ‘children’ is expected to cost you, the American taxpayer, approximately $1.2 billion in FY2017, here.

Would you like me to post your testimony to the US State Department?

RRW logoTwo days ago, I reminded you that you have until May 19th to send testimony to the US State Department about the “size and scope” of the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program for fiscal year 2017.
In some other previous years 2012, 2013 and 2014 (scroll back through the category!), we did publish some testimony.  We know that the State Department deep-sixes your testimony, but this is one way to bring your concerns to the light of day!
You can send your testimony to my e-mail address: refugeewatcher@gmail.com (be sure to put the word ‘testimony’ in the subject line so I can readily see it!).
It can be in an attachment or in the text of the e-mail.  You can be anonymous, but I would like to know from which state you are writing.  And, I won’t publish anything that uses inappropriate language or threats.
Speaking of that—language and threats—I’ve gotten some comments to posts lately which I haven’t posted because they are vile, or downright nutty.
You can make your points about the problems with this program without resorting to foul language.
And, if your testimony is way, way too long, I might have to shorten what I post a little bit.
Again, go here for instructions.
By the way, I will be calling for a Moratorium again.  And, if you are wondering why I didn’t bother with any of this in 2015, it was because I was so disgusted with the attempts by the State Department to silence the public (by not holding a hearing as they had in the past) and by keeping whatever testimony they received secret!
You have a right to know what the federal contractors are telling the federal government!  It is your money!
Update! Yikes! In two hours I’ve gotten 6 testimonies! I will do my best to get them posted, but will now be out for awhile! I’ll post in the order I get them.

If Miliband is so interested in British politics he should just go home!

Sheesh!  The US taxpayer gives $378 million a year to the NON-profit International Rescue Committee to, among other things, resettle refugees into many US cities—most recently they have plans for Missoula, MT—and here its CEO David Miliband (a British citizen being compensated to the tune of $600,000 a year) (see recent Form 990 here) is in the middle of huge controversy in the UK called Brexit.

Miliband and Cameron
Miliband and Cameron joined forces yesterday to oppose efforts to remove the UK from the EU.

Be sure to see how in 2013 Miliband was welcomed to NYC by Bill Clinton, George Soros, Madeleine Albright and Samantha Power.
Miliband was also the first resettlement contractor to call for 65,000 Syrian (mostly Muslim) refugees to be admitted to the US this year and subsequently upped the number to 100,000.
See our complete Miliband archive by clicking here.
From the Mirror:

David Miliband lent David Cameron a hand in making the case for Britain’s ongoing EU membership today .

The Labour former Foreign Secretary introduced the Tory Prime Minister’s speech at the British Museum. [Who paid his travel expenses to the UK—the US taxpayer?—ed]

Ex-Labour leadership hopeful Mr Miliband, who lost the party crown to younger brother Ed [aka Red Ed—ed] in 2010, said: “It’s a mark of the stakes on June 23 that David Cameron and I have come together today.

“I’m sure it would be easy to poke fun at our unusual and temporary political alliance, but actually it is a sobering reflection of what is at issue.

“There is a centre-left case for Britain’s membership of the European Union and there is a centre-right case for Britain’s membership of the European Union.”

Continue reading here. According to the article, Cameron believes there will be “peace” in Europe if they stay in.
Frankly, after Londoners elected a Muslim mayor and in Europe there are riots about the invading Muslim migrants, doesn’t look like peace is in the offing for anyone, anywhere on the continent.
By the way, there was an article yesterday which suggested Miliband might be eyeing the seat in Parliament vacated by the newly elected mayor of London.  Maybe he is indeed angling to go home.  Don’t let the door hit you……

North Dakota update: seems that very few elected officials have a clue about what ol' Teddy and Joe created

Back in 1980 when Jimmy Carter signed the monster into law (after it was pushed through the Senate by Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden) everyone jumped on board (every state but Wyoming!) and figured this was just one of those warm and fuzzy feel-good plans from Washington.

Ted and Joe
Thank Senators Ted Kennedy and Joe Biden for being the ‘brains’ behind the bill that became the Refugee Act of 1980

It was put on auto-pilot (no serious review by Congress has happened in 35 years) until now when the once seemingly innocuous program has grown so large, so costly and fraught with security risks that the public is finally paying attention.
Here is the latest on North Dakota, a state with one of the highest per capita rates of refugee placement, and where elected officials are now trying to figure out what rights they have to slow it or get out altogether.
The story is here at Breitbart where reporter Michael Patrick Leahy tells us how the North Dakota Senator and former governor doesn’t understand how the program works.
Read the story.  Learn how much your state is on the hook for!
Now this…

Every “humanitarian arrival” costs the US taxpayer a bare minimum of $10,000 per person. Do our Washington elected officials even have a clue?

I want to use this opportunity of the Breitbart story to highlight a brief mention of the cost of the program reporter Leahy mentions near the end.  Here is what Leahy said:

Hoeven is not the only member of Congress who does not seem to understand how the federal refugee resettlement program works. In fact, hardly any members of Congress seem to have such an understanding. That may be the most obvious reason to explain why Congress continues to fund the VOLAGS who operate it to the tune of $1 billion a year.

Since a reader asked just this morning about the cost of the program (in light of the upcoming opportunity to testify), the best I can do is send you here to Obama’s proposed FY 2016 Report to Congress (from Sept. of 2015) on what the Administration said the program would cost the feds in this year (2016).  Go to Table VII and see that they estimated $1.19 billion total.  That includes $652 million for the Office of Refugee Resettlement.
However, when you go here to the Dept. of Health and Human Services FY2017 Budget Justification (begin on p. 244) you will see a very different story. Either the budget has dramatically increased (from 2016 to 2017) or Obama was downplaying the costs only 6 months ago.
Get this! Obama’s FY2017 budget includes (rounded number) $2.2 BILLION just for the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) where they say they will care for 213,000 “humanitarian arrivals” including Obama’s 100,000 refugees he has been touting for next year.

The FY 2017 budget of $2,184,860,000 for this account represents the cost of maintaining current law and service requirements for additional refugees and other Entrants and unaccompanied children and for expanding assistance to domestic victms of trafficking. The funding levels for the Refugee and Entrant Assistance account in FY 2017, particularly with regard to Transitional and Medical Services, Social Services, Preventative Health, and Survivors of Torture programs.

The President’ Budget request would support a total of 213,000 humanitarian arrivals in FY 2017, including 100,000 refugees, consistent with the Administration’s commitment to admit at least this number of refugees in FY 2017. The FY 2017 base funding level for unaccompanied children represents an increase of $278,000,000, which is flat from the base resources available in FY 2016, including carryover.

I’m rotten at math, but doesn’t that amount to over $10,000 per refugee just for the ORR share.
That over $2 billion figure does not include the costs of the US State Department which pays contractors their per head fee and it doesn’t include the enormous security screening costs for the Dept. of Homeland Security for the large numbers arriving from Muslim countries.
And, it most certainly does not include the (surely!) billions in welfare payments, medical care and education for the children refugees receive.

More on submitting comments to the US State Department ….

Yesterday I reminded readers that you have ten days to send in comments to the State Department about the “size and scope” of the Refugee Admissions Program for FY2017.
A commenter at our facebook page told people not to bother because they won’t listen anyway.  Frankly, it just sounded like the advice of a lazy negative person to me.  I told you in my post that there are many things you can and should do with your testimony even if you know the US State Department won’t listen to you. So please do it!
I just now realized that I told you in December 2015 what I said in previous years (called for a moratorium) and outlined a bit of the history of this “scoping” meeting. We attended for a few years in person until they stopped holding public hearings altogether, and we can only assume that they didn’t want to hear from us in person anymore.  They also keep the testimony secret now (we previously were able to get all the testimony if we attended the public hearing).
By the way, regarding #5 in my past testimony, they are making progress in their reports to Congress, but most likely only because Congress is now paying some attention.
A reader suggested I re-post this map of the present sites where refugee contractors are working.  But, remember they are now scouting out new sites—Missoula, MT, Rutland, VT and Ithaca, NY come immediately to mind.
Click here to see the 2016 Affiliates Map more clearly (color coding represents the nine major contractors, see legend).
LOL! I am reminded just now as I look at the map that as many as 5-6 (of nine) major contractors (being paid by the head to resettle the refugees) could be working (and competing!) in your city!  Chicago has 8 of the 9!
