Syrian ‘asylum seeker’ regrets choosing Norway over Sweden

Readers, this is another story relating to refugees and asylum posted at The Muslim Issue, a blog I’ve been following lately and you should too!  The story is about a Syrian ‘shopping,’ with the help of traffickers, for a country to go to and appeal for status as a refugee from a war-torn country.

The story of ‘Nazim’ is an excellent example of the steps involved in the asylum racket.

From The Muslim Issue (translated from the original).  Emphasis below is mine:

(From Avpixlat) ASYLUM ABUSE: Nazim is one of the many Syrians who lack proper refugee reasons, but in the outside world sympathy to the victims of the ongoing civil war is seen an opportunity to gain a better life in Europe. Now however Nazim fumes that he chose to seek asylum in Norway instead of the naive Sweden.

Nazim left his wife and children in Syria, just a clear indication that there is an asylum scam. Would you leave the women and children on a battlefield where bullets fly and bombs fall to bring yourself to safety? Nazims family are most likely at a safe distance from the civil war horrors. Nazim went to Turkey. It was not a good enough country to flee to, he said, and chose not to try to bring his family. Instead, he contacted smugglers to get into Europe and managed to buy a fake Polish passport for $ 5,000, a sum that Nazim in spite of his alleged refugee status did not have any problems to procure.

[Readers this is a point to remember—asylum seekers from Africa and the Middle East who arrive on our (US) border have spent a huge sum of money to get there, estimates are $10,000 and up.  These are not the starving and destitute people you envision.—ed]

Now remained only the question which country Nazim would choose for asylum where he had the best chance to obtain a residence permit. He chose Norway, on the recommendation of the people he bought the passport from. It would prove to be foolish. In Norway, they are namely sick of asylum seekers who pick and choose among the EU Schengen countries as on an a la carte menu rather than to seek asylum in the first country they come to, in accordance with the Dublin Regulation. They are also fed up with almost all asylum seekers arriving in Norway who carry false papers with accompanying false stories or no paper at all. Nazim has therefore not obtained the residency he so eagerly desires to be able to bring in his family from Syria.

[Readers, remember this point that legitimate refugees are required by international law to ask for asylum in the first safe country they reach, so anyone getting to our border should be asking for asylum in Canada or Mexico or any of the Central and South American countries they have already traversed.  This is also why the US State Department sanctioned Malta migration to America is such a travesty.  Those Somalis reaching Malta are Malta’s and the EU’s problem, not ours!—ed]

Nazim now complains in Norwegian press and says he should have chosen Sweden. All his Syrian friends who chose Sweden has received a residence permit a long time ago. Although this fact seems a little strange. That Nazim has such a good handle on how things have gone for all the others who fled from Syria suggest that this has hardly been a valid cause, but this is a network and a coordinated plan. But yes, Nazim is right, and he should have chosen Sweden. Here all the Syrians now get their residency permits automatically without any investigations or assessments of individual asylum claims being made.

Admittedly they get “only” a residence of three years in the first instance but if they have children or acquire such in Sweden and these children become rooted in Swedish society, he has very good prospects for permanent residency when the three years are over, even on the situation in Syria, if the situation requires no asylum rights. Moreover, almost all Syrians with a three-year residence permit in Sweden already appealed the decision in court and requested that it be granted a permanent residence permit – give someone a finger and he takes the whole hand, feels like a just saying.

Will it be Malians next?

I’m beginning to see a pattern.  Some conflict (these days largely instigated by Muslims, by Jihadists) ensues, government collapses, US sticks its nose in (think Bosnia),  US State Department “welcomes” the refugees created by the conflict, American resettlement contractors get lots of money to resettle them in your towns, they need jobs (meatpackers rejoice!) and social services which you pay for, eventually the conflict ends (think Afghanistan), we stabilize relations (think Somalia), and the refugees go home!  Not!  They don’t go home.  They stay and become Democrat voters.

I have nothing further to say except that I guess it’s time for yet another google alert—refugees Mali— but I do want to save two links here for future reference.  One is the State Department briefing today on Africa, here.  And, the other is this very amusingly written bit in the Washington Post entitled the “9 questions about Mali you were too embarrassed to ask.”(great music there before the Islamists banned it.)

I have a sinking feeling we will be hearing a lot more about Mali in the weeks and months ahead, and my fervent hope is that Obama isn’t going to turn that country over to the “rebels” as he did Egypt and Libya.

Canada: We will take another 5000 Iraqis and Iranians from Turkey, chosen by UN

To ease the burden on poor Turkey!  Oh brother!

From Canadavisa.com:

Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has announced plans to resettle up to 5,000 Iranian and Iraqi refugees, presently in Turkey, by 2018. Citing “escalating violence in the region,” Immigration Minister Jason Kenney outlined his government’s intention to “help Turkey deal with this growing pressure.” He also commended the government of Turkey “for keeping her borders open to those fleeing the ongoing conflict in the region.”

It is expected that this undertaking will help ease the existing burden on Turkey, freeing up the Turkish government’s resources to deal with the current influx of Syrians seeking protection in the country. [Watch for it!  Canada will eventually be taking the Syrians too—ed]

Minister Kenney reaffirmed Canada’s commitment to its 2009 and 2010 pledges of resettling 20,000 Iraqi refugees. To date, it has resettled 12,000, most of them from Syria.

Most of the refugees will be referred by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for resettlement.

Canada is one of a few countries operating a resettlement program out of Turkey, and is second only to the United States as a destination for refugees from the region.

Two bigwigs arrested in Somali human trafficking ring in Nairobi; helped illegal migrants get to Malta (and US)

This story not only involves bigwigs, but is so big it should be reported on the front page of the New York Times. Maybe a follow-up is due to their previous superficial reporting on Malta.

For years I’ve been writing about how the tiny island nation of Malta has been besieged by illegal Africans trying to get to Europe and beyond.  The ‘beyond’ includes the United States!  Aided by the Catholic Church, the US State Department (started in the Bush Administration) has made it a priority to transform illegal migrants on Malta into legitimate “refugees” destined for your towns.   I have literally over a hundred posts here on the disgusting and frankly illegal business.  (Type ‘Malta’ into our search function for 5 years of history).

Here is the story that I first saw at Horseed Media, but is from Malta Today (yesterday) with this headline:

Italian diplomat, WFP collaborator among 55 arrested for trafficking Somalis to Malta

Italian police arrest 55, including Italian diplomat at Nairobi embassy in connection with a criminal organisation which has diverted Somali migrants to Malta.

Italian police have said that they have dealt a strong blow to two criminal organisations which profiteered from trafficking Somali nationals from Libya to Malta over the past months.

Nabbed were a cultural attache at the Italian embassy and a worker for the World Food Programme (UN of course)!

The investigations – reportedly held in conjunction with Maltese authorities – led to the arrest at dawn of 55 people, including Hussein Mohamed Abdurahman, nicknamed ‘Banjè’, the cultural attaché at the Italian embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, and Mohamed Sheik Ali Bashir a World Food Programme Collaborator.

The organisations, said to have branches in Kenya and Italy, took care of coordinating the Somali nationals movements from the horn of Africa towards Libya, and later organised their clandestine trips to Malta and also to Greece.

The organisations also saw to providing hundreds of Somalis with false documents to later abscond from Malta and make their way to Italy, and further North in Europe. [and to the US–ed]

In raids which involved 200 officers, arrests were made in Rome, Milan, Turin, Florence, Prato, Bergamo, Cuneo and Naples.

Other raids are said to be ongoing this morning in Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Another 23 people have meanwhile been notified to have been placed under investigation by the Italian authorities for their secondary role in assisting the Somali migrants, by providing them logistical support.

Further investigations are ongoing in Ragusa, Sicily – another known landing point for migrants fleeing Libya after Malta.

According to a spokesman, the investigations were coordinated by Eurojust, and Europol.

Hundreds and hundreds of these Somali illegal aliens (mostly young men!) trafficked to Malta through Obama’s Libya are now in your towns in America!

Terror funding trial beginning for San Diego Somalis

No sooner do I tell you about the touchy-feely politically correct novel about Somalis in Maine, then I see the news that yet another terrorist funding trial is opening in San Diego.  Four men, including a mosque leader, are charged with sending money to the Al-Qaeda franchise in the Horn of Africa—-al Shabaab.

Just last month, here, we learned that a San Diego Somali woman got 8 years in the slammer for the same thing.  Taxpayers get to pay for their resettlement and then their prison terms.

Coincidentally, I  learned tonight that lucky San Diego was the first US resettlement city for Somalis in the early 1990’s.  (I’ll tell you about that tomorrow).

Somalis are busy standing trial—we reported on the Somali Christmas tree bomber case here a few days ago!

This is the latest news, emphasis mine, from UT San Diego.  (hat tip: Shariah Finance Watch)

SAN DIEGO — The San Diego trial of four Somali men charged with sending money and support to the terrorist group al-Shabaab is scheduled to begin in federal court this month.

A federal grand jury indicted the men in 2010 on charges of conspiracy, providing material support to terrorists, providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization and money laundering.

They have all pleaded not guilty. The men are accused of funneling about $8,000 raised in San Diego’s Somali immigrant community to al-Shabaab fighters in 2008.

At a hearing last week before U.S. District Judge Jeffrey Miller on pretrial motions, the four defendants sat quietly in the jury box. A group of supporters filled the seats in the courtroom’s gallery — men sitting on one side and women on the other.

The defendants are Basaaly Saeed Moalin, a cabdriver; Mohamed Mohamed Mohamud, the imam of a City Heights mosque; Issa Doreh, former president of a nonprofit group aiding the Somali community; and Ahmed Nasir Taalil Mohamud of Anaheim.

Who are these lawyers?  Inquiring minds would like to know!

Interest in the case is high within the immigrant community in San Diego and nationally. The men are being represented by lawyers from around the country who were recruited by a legal foundation that since 2001 has raised money to represent Muslims accused of crimes in federal and state courts.

There is more, read it all.  And, this is funny, lawyers for the defendants want to keep mention of al-Qaeda out of the trial so as not to remind jurors that violence and death are associated with Jihadists.

For new readers we have resettled more than 100,000 Somali refugees to cities large and small in the US over the last 25 years.  See one of the most widely read posts here at RRW.  In three years since 9/11 ( Bush years 2004, 2005, 2006) the number of Somalis arriving topped 10,000 per year.  Those refugees then began bringing in the family (chain migration!) until 2008 when shock of shocks! the State Department discovered that as many as 30,000 Somalis had lied about their kinship and weren’t related at all.  The State Department then closed the “family reunification” program for Somalis.  It has recently been re-opened for new and legit family members, but they have no intention of finding and deporting the liars.
