Miscellaneous news from Europe (before and after French massacre)

Invasion of Europe news…

Marine Le Pen, the French bogeyman? The increasingly unhinged Glenn Beck was trashing her this past week. http://www.glennbeck.com/2015/01/08/their-interests-are-aligned-glenn-reveals-how-radicals-on-all-sides-are-exploiting-terror-attack/

Czech Politician Urges People To Walk Their ‘Dogs And Pigs Near To Mosques’

Poor Bulgaria! Under EU immigration policy if ‘asylum seekers’ enter the EU through a given country, they must be returned to that country for processing. The big western European countries are only too happy to send them back to Bulgaria:

Thousands of asylum seekers to be returned to Bulgaria

Fear of the rise of the Right Wing evident everywhere in Europe now:

Muslims in Europe fear anti-Islamic mood will intensify after Paris attacks

No new mosques will be built in his Italian town says mayor:

New mosque ban in Padua after Paris attacks

Some vindication for German PEGIDA:

German groups say Paris attack shows Islamist threat

Do they get it now in Europe:

Europe Is Under Siege

A million people are expected to march for “unity” in Paris tomorrow; presence of world leaders requires a huge security operation:

Security boost before Paris march

RRW weekly wrap-up for January 10, 2015: Best week ever!

Wow!  If the readers continue to arrive in droves as they have this past week, 2015 will be a banner year.  For the many new readers who arrived since January first, we are entering our 8th year of writing this very narrowly focused blog and we are very pleased at the growing interest in an increasingly important US LEGAL immigration program.  We also report on refugee and asylum issues around the world which helps us all better understand the problems freedom-loving Western societies are facing.

We try to do a weekly round-up every week mostly so that readers know what is interesting other readers.  We like to let you know from where around the world our readers arrive, and we help new readers find useful information among our 6,000 plus posts.

Here are the top three posts of the week ending January 10th (top daily posts are in the right hand side bar):

1.  Syrian Muslims headed to North Dakota, Nebraska and Kentucky.

2.  Maine Governor re-elected, keeps his word, cuts welfare for illegal aliens/asylum seekers.

3.  Portland, Maine: White cabbie files discrimination lawsuit against city.

Usually our fact sheet is in the top three, check it out here.

Here are the top ten countries (after the US) from which readers arrived at RRW (in descending order):

Australia

Canada

UK

Sweden

Germany

France

South Africa

Kenya

Norway

New Zealand

For new readers!

Since we get new readers every day, here is my usual spiel.

This is where you can find information if you are arriving here at RRW for the first time (in addition to our fact sheet). We have over 6,000 posts.

*  See our categories (left hand sidebar)

*  See the tag clouds (right hand sidebar)

*  Also, we have a great search function and since neither the categories nor the tags go all the way back to our first posts more than seven years ago, use the search window with a few key words.  You might want to first try your city, state, or country to see what we have reported from there over the years.

Readers from Europe should search for key words ‘Invasion of Europe’ for all of our many posts on the migration crisis on the Continent.

By the way, our category entitled ‘where to find information’ is filled with reports and documents, but with 315 posts archived there, it is pretty unwieldy now.

Past weekly roundups can be found in our category entitled ‘blogging.’

If you wish to be notified when we post, consider subscribing or follow us on twitter (@refugeewatcher) or facebook (RefugeeInfoResource).  ‘Like us’ on facebook!

And apologies to all who e-mail and comment, sorry if I don’t respond much, there are just not enough hours in my day!

It occurs to me that I do see everyone’s comments to posts because we do screen them (no foul language, no threats), so if you have something you want me to see, I don’t at all mind if you send the link as a comment to a post, even if it’s off-topic.

To regular readers, thank you for your continued concern for this very important issue.

Senator Rand Paul has a lot of nerve to question French immigration policy!

How can a man whose own home town was traumatized by the arrest of Muslim refugee terrorists, and whose home state of Kentucky is a prime US State Department resettlement site for Somali, Iraqi, Burmese and soon-to-arrive Syrian Muslims have the audacity to tell the French that they need to re-think their immigration policy!

Frankly, I had a lot of hope for Senator Paul a few years ago when he raised some hell in Washington over how those two Iraqi (now convicted and in prison) terrorists slipped through Homeland Security’s hands (they lied on refugee applications, big surprise!) when one of them had fingerprints on IED fragments from Iraq.  He is the only Senator I have seen even make a peep about the Refugee Program.

Maybe I’m the only one who remembers Senator Paul’s brief stand!  See posts here here, here and here.   After 2013 (what! when 2016 was around the corner?) it sure sounds like Paul himself erased concerns for Kentucky and America right out of his mind!

Grover Norquist and Senator Rand Paul. For your own good Paul, get away from Norquist! Photo: http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/dgreenfield/norquist-bloomberg-and-rand-paul-team-up-for-dont-call-it-amnesty/

Why doesn’t Senator Rand Paul get it—if he came out strongly right now about American security as it relates to LEGAL and illegal immigration he would have a shot at the Presidency in 2016!

This is the news that got me steamed this morning.  From CNN:

(CNN)Sen. Rand Paul thinks that France needs to rethink its immigration policy in light of the recent terror attacks.

The Kentucky Republican said Thursday that intelligence and surveillance tactics should still be employed to prevent terrorism, but argued “there’s some policy changes, though, that could be better.”

“I think also you got to secure your country. That means maybe that every Muslim immigrant that wishes to come to France shouldn’t have an open door to come,” he said on Sean Hannity’s radio show, referring to Islamic radicalization in Europe.

Paul suggested such policy be considered by France and “many of these other countries that had old colonies in predominantly Muslim areas.”

He does throw in a comment about our border security and student visas (big deal), but more than any other Senator in Washington, maybe even more than Senator Jeff Sessions (who doesn’t say much about refugees), Paul knows about the dangers and the cost of our refugee program.

Paul, a potential presidential contender, argued that “it’s also my concern here,” saying the U.S. border “is a danger to attack” and criticizing what he described as a poorly monitored student visa program.

See our extensive archive on Kentucky and its many problems with refugees, here.  Paul’s home town of Bowling Green was until recently a preferred resettlement site!‘  Sometime after 2009 it was taken off the list, why? because it is so overloaded with refugees that the feds and their resettlement contractors are now focusing on other Kentucky cities like Louisville (where they eat camels!).

About the photo and Senator Paul’s association with Grover Norquist.  In 2007 Norquist (Americans for Tax Reform) was promoting, with his inside-the-beltway Republicans, the idea of bringing in Iraqi refugees.  More recently Norquist and Suhail Kahn ginned-up a letter from a group of RINOs to bring in more refugees generally.

Jeb Bush signed that letter asking that we resettle MORE refugees.

Note to Paul—get away from Grover Norquist!

Top dozen US states that “welcomed” Somali refugees since 2004

Update!  Unbelievable!  Somali youths want $4 million in Minnesota state funds to help fight terrorist leanings among their fellow Somali-Americans.  Kind of sounds like extortion doesn’t it!  (Thanks to ‘Pungentpeppers’ for spotting it)

As the world is mesmerized this morning by news from France—about French Muslims (parents were welcomed by France) who thumbed their noses at French generosity and became trained jihadists in the Middle East—and who then rewarded their adopted country by bringing carnage to Paris, I thought it would be timely to tell you about the potential problem for the US.

Not me! Follow links for the whole story! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2014/08/28/minnesota-somali-refugee-believed-to-be-second-american-killed-while-fighting-with-isis/

The US has also exported jihadi fighters mostly from the Somali “community” in Minneapolis.  Just last month word spread that one more of those fighters died in battle, but where are the others?  Does the US have a plan to stop them if they attempt to return to American soil?  And, don’t you wonder why the French didn’t stop the Islamic killers as they returned to France?  Is political correctness killing them?

In the last week I came across the numbers for how many Somali refugees the US State Department and its contractors (mostly ‘religious charities’—ha! ha!) have brought to America at the UN’s direction since 2004.

Minnesota can thank Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services and World Relief MN (now Arrive Ministries).  If you are visiting RRW for the first time, know that these ‘religious charities’ are almost completely funded by your tax dollars!

Below are the dirty dozen states whose political leaders never said a word as Somalis were dropped off.

The number in parenthesis is the number arriving since 2004.  You can visit our older post, here, for the numbers of Somalis resettled over the last 30 years.   We have already resettled 2,801 in this fiscal year (2015)!

Remember!  Large numbers of Somalis would not have ‘found their way’ to America without the US State Department and Christian and Jewish federal contractors!***

The total since 2004 was 79,266!

1.  Minnesota (13,010)

2.  Ohio (6,318)

3.  Texas (6,041)

4.  New York (4,517)

5.  Arizona (4,457)

6.  Washington (3,782)

7.  Georgia (3,692)

8.  California (3,087)

9.  Missouri (2,564)

10.  Tennessee (2,537)

11.  Massachusetts (2,522)

12.  Utah (2,367)

If you are interested in the number your state received, then send a comment and I’ll look it up.  In a previous post this morning we gave you the number for Kentucky.

Temporary protected status extended for Syrians; let’s hope they are dumb

Just paddle on over from Canada!

The Center for Immigration Studies has another winner this week.  Yesterday we reported that CIS has produced a new study about the huge number of Muslim immigrants entering the US, and this time, CIS writer David North describes an easy way for Syrians to get into the US and then apply for Temporary Protected Status—a ridiculous LEGAL immigration avenue that is anything but temporary.

Here is North at CIS:

It is 11:36 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2015. You are Ali Abdullah, a Syrian who desperately wants legal status in the United States but has been refused a visa. You have just seated yourself for an early lunch in Kingston, Canada, on the northern edge of Lake Ontario.

As you wait for the waiter, you check your laptop for the latest immigration news from the States (you had foresightedly asked USCIS to send you bulletins, as I have done).

And there it is – the announcement that the U.S. will offer legal status (Temporary Protected Status, or TPS) to all Syrian Nationals who can claim “continuous residence in the United States since January 5, 2015″.

You rub your eyes and check the date on the lower right-hand corner of the laptop and find that today is, in fact, January 5, 2015, and that you have 12 hours and 24 minutes to get into the US so that you can claim TPS……

Read it all, it is really quite amusing (sort of!).  Let’s just hope all of those who are eligible for all Temporary Status designations aren’t as smart as Mr. North.

By the way, those with TPS status can work and do anything an American citizen can do except vote (and they are probably doing that too!).

The next time you hear someone say, “I’m all for legal immigration, it is illegal immigration I have a problem with,” tell them they don’t know what they are talking about!
